This helmet is a great product. I haven't had a chance to wear it in the middle of summer so I can't speak on the air flow, but it is great when it comes to not fogging up. The chin guard is very easy to manipulate with one hand, and the same can be said about the sun glasses. The weight balance is notable when the chin guard is back and may become uncomfortable on long trips but putting around town it is great to have the extra air flow.
Yes, I recommend this product.

When it is blistering hot, this thing does a nice job of immediately providing airflow, without sticking a massive air dam into the wind stream. Maybe not the fit and finish of my Schuberth helmet — but the way it folds up, back and locks into place is pretty cool.

The most uncomfortable helmet I've ever owned! I had a Shark Evoline previously and while it took a few rides to break it in, it was a nice helmet. Then I purchased the ST assuming it would be the same only bluetooth friendly and what a mistake! Uncomfortable even after riding 1 1/2 years with it. After an hour, the helmet would hurt the forehead and temples terribly. The sharktooth operated well, but you had to be stopped to hear and communication. When riding you could hear the other rider, but couldn't distinguish what was said until at a stop.
Both mine and my wife's ST's had the same issues, so I assume it was in the design.
Love our new Shoei Neotechs! Comfortable and Quiet!

I prefer a full-face but I bought this helmet just before my 8,500 mile trek across the US last summer because I wanted the versatility. I also bought the Sharktooth Bluetooth.
The helmet seems to fit comfortably at first. A bit snug but that's what you want. The problem is that after about 30 minutes, I got a horrible headache. I mean like a true migraine. Took me awhile to figure out that it was the helmet and a bit longer to realize that it was the forehead pad causing it. The pad is a black mesh and feels fairly cushy. But just behind the mesh is a 4" x 2" neoprene pad that is glued on to the styrofoam. It's about 1/8" thick and puts just enough pressure on the forehead to cause great agony.
I have recently pulled the neoprene pad out (see pic) and plan to try the helmet again tomorrow on a 5 hour trip to Princeton. This may or may not fix the problem. I see others have had the same experience with the headaches. I'll bring my full face just in case.
Overall, I expect a much, much better product for the $$ I paid. I would not recommend this product unless you can actually wear it for an hour or so before you buy it.

I first ordered a Large as I often fit in between L/XL on most manufacturers. (Shoei RF1100, I have one each) The EvoLine large fit like a Shoei medium. I exchanged for a XL and it felt almost identical! I was in disbelief. It fits a bit tighter than my Shoei L. I checked with Shark and they do not make smaller pad inserts. But I love the helmet so much and have been waiting 10 months for them to sort out their distribution problems, I am determined to keep it. For the past week, it has been sitting in my garage with vice grips attached to the forehead pad, which is where the tightest part is for me. We shall see how it fits. Yes, I am aware of safety issues and molding the inner shell.
So, disappointed on the sizing issue but love everything else on the helmet.
Oh, a note that I havent seen on other reviews: The inner dark visor if lowered all the way down would rest on my nose a bit and over time I'm sure would be quite annoying. But what is great about it is that it will hold its position no matter what level you lower it to. Just thought that might be helpful to know.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I perfer a full face helmet but as of late I have felt the heat in my modular helmet. I had heard about the Shark from a friend that likes his but I was very uneasy about spending such a penny on just a helmet. I got my helmet in the mail and went out for a quick 40 mile ride to give it a quick test.
I went on main busy roads with the face open 40+mph, great feel nice and cool. I went on back roads at 50+mph open face and still was very happy not as much wind as you would think from an open face. I then went on a highway at 70+mph and then did closed face, nice and quiet and felt very good.
The ease that it takes to operate this helmet from full face to open is extremly easy even when riding at speed down the road. I did not like riding with my modular open (created a wind drag, I dont like wind in my face) but with this is open face I did not get the wind in my eyes and face like I thought it would even at 60+ mph.
The visor looks small but it is not and gives a wide angle for quick side to side without turning your head.
I noticed that some people mentioned a noise or whistle, I did not hear anything from mine except for the wind noise and it was nothing more than any other helmet I have ever worn.
I can't say how much I like this Shark. It was well worth the investment trust me.

The wait was well worth it! This a great helmet with lots of awsome options and the flip up works flawlessly. The noise level is slightly loud, and the face shield (if up) will chatter in the wind. These minor items pale in comparison to the total package of this great helmet.

Answer:
The Evoline 3 is currently only available in European markets. As a general rule the US does not see most helmets until they have been available in Europe for roughly a year, so we don't expect to see the Evoline 3 until sometime in 2013.

Answer:
The difference probably originates from the possibility that Shark weighed a different shell size than we did. If Shark weighed their XS size, then it would come up lighter than us weighing the XL size. In any case, the Schuberth is definitely lighter than the Evoline.

Answer:
There is a Mirrored Chrome face shield for this helmet and the Shark part number is VZ9030P CHR.

It probably needs to be special ordered from Shark France and if Revzilla won't do it for you (hint, hint) Pacific Powersports will, for $69.99 each.

Answer:
I suspect they do not make them. They probably assume that the internal tinted visor is sufficient. To be honest, I've never even seen a replacement for the clear visor, though they definitely should make them, since the visor is detachable.

Answer:
The helmet that they are referring to is of the same product line, but a different color pattern. The helmet that is linked below is one of the ones that will "glow in the dark," note the lines on the helmet that you referred to in your question.

This link will take you to the Shark manufacturers website.

Answer:
The ST version will have cut outs for speakers underneath the cheekpads, whereas the standard version 2 does not. The current version, and all our current stock is the ST. Hope this helps!

Answer:
The "ST" model is exactly the same as the "not ST" model in every way except that the ST model has pre-cut indentations in the foam core to place the elements of the Sharktooth bluetooth system. There is an indentation on each side for the ear speakers, and one in the back center for the battery pack.

These indentations are almost completely invisible on a simple visual inspection. You have to actually feel around for them with your fingers to tell the difference between the 2 helmet models.

I have also discovered that the pre-cut ear speaker locations are in the wrong places for my head shape, and I had to do a little creative engineering to remedy that problem. I posted a detailed analysis of this in the review section of the Sharktooth item. After having seen how much it took to get them located right for my ears, I would save the money and buy the non-ST model helmet next time... I'll have to do just as much work on that one as I did on my ST model, so why pay the extra $$?

I can't tell from the picture if that helmet is modular. If it is, it is not SNELL rated.

Do you have a military discount and how do I apply it. I am interested in the Shark Evoline ST with the Sharktooth for my wife and myself. I currently have a first generation helmet and love it. I was hoping Shark would come to their senses and make a blutooth helmet.
Thanks for your assistance
