Retro! I'm transitioning from a sport bike to a modern classic, so naturally I was looking to add a retro style riding jacking to my gear closet. This Scorpion jacket went on sale by about 1/2, deal of the year! So I picked one up. Love the styling, the IMS patch is bad-a** and the subtle embossed logos look cool. The leather and materials are absolutely top-notch. The pants zipper and convenient belt loop strap are definitely appreciated. Plenty of pocket space, included a few on the sleeves (right forearm and left shoulder - cool!). I'm 5'10", 175, and I have a 42" chest. Based on the video review / sizing, I went with a size Medium and it's a perfect fit. The arms have a little extra room but after adding elbow guards they're better. I had to remind myself that I'm used to wearing much tighter fitting sport bike jackets. I had a spare Forcefield back protector (size 001) and picked up Forcefield shoulder and elbow guards. I had to trim them a bit to get them to fit well in the Scorpion's armor pockets, no big deal. With the back pad, elbow and shoulder pads, it still fits and feels great. Minor nit-picks - I wish all the zipper pulls had rubber ends on them (like the pocket zippers do). Sleeve zippers could have slightly better "grab" to them but they feel stable enough. Again, minor stuff. At this sale price, this was an absolute no-brainer. Just make sure to budget for back / elbow / shoulder armor inserts and you'll have a rock-solid retro riding jacket. Amazing Basically my favorite jacket that i have ever owned! Supreme functionality and style. October 9, 2015
Jacket Love I'm 5' 10.5" and 155 lbs so I went with a medium. This jacket feels like it was made for me. If you're a slim guy with long arms, this jacket was made for you too. The color is awesome -- closer to charcoal than straight black. The IMS logo and Scorpion branding are very subtle and accent the texture of the leather perfectly. Don't expect any bells or whistles, but if you're looking for a classic jacket for a classic bike, look no further. It doesn't get any better than this. September 2, 2015
Love at First Sight BFTB: I got this on sale which made it all the more worth it. Although I probably would have bought it even if it wasn't. Style: Has a genuine vintage feel w/ the distressed leather - bamf Comfort: The jacket looked stocky in the video review but when I tried it on, it fit very nicely. The stiffness and weight of the leather is a bit restrictive but that's to be expected. P&D: Thankfully I have not had a chance to test it out but I do feel very safe in it. Air Flow: It's no mesh jacket but I typically ride with the jacket partially unzipped. I'm fine when in motion Features: I like the liners even though that seems standard on jackets now. The collar and wrist zippers are great for cold nights. I don't use the jacket-to-pants zipper. Overall, I've been browsing RevZilla (Much love btw) for a few months trying to find a jacket that I would wear on and off the bike. I'm glad I spotted this. Highly recommend. July 14, 2015
Great on and off the bike! This a great leather jacket that fits perfectly. Being shorter in stature I was worried it would be too big, but I went with the sizing guide and it is spot on. This version doesn't come with armor, which is fine since I had some from a previous jacket to spare. The armor is not even noticeable since the jacket is so streamlined. I'd wear this jacket even if I wasn't riding. Great bang for the buck with Revzilla's price match. July 9, 2015
Fantastic Like the another review on here I also picked this up at the Indianapolis MotoGP. It is a little pricey but it is worth it. Very nice fit and comfortable to ride in the warm and cold weather. This jacket looks great and I wear it even when I am not riding. Definitely a great pick up if you're looking for a comfortable vintage looking leather jacket. Plus it has the Indianapolis Motor Speedway logo on it so it's even cooler. November 21, 2014
Top Notch I picked one of these up last weekend for the Redbull GP in Indianapolis. Was a bit hesitant based on the price, but this is bar-none one of...if not the...nicest leather jackets I've ever owned. I guess the branding is either hit of miss, either you like Indianapolis Motor Speedway or you don't...but other than the wing and wheel logo on the chest and a couple embosses it's basically unbranded and has a very vintage feel. Weight is awesome -- feels like a leather jacket should: dense but not overwhelmingly heavy. I'm an XL and the fit is right on the money. I look forward to many years to come wearing this as a riding jacket and a casual piece. August 11, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Edgardo M: I bought the Scorpion IMS 1909 Leather Jacket because I thought it would look cool with my old school bike. There were also generally positive reviews on this jacket both here and at other corners of Al Gore's internets. I just ordered it, though, so we'll see when I get it! Nov 19, 2015

A shopper asked: Hi I am 6'5 200lbs. I tried the Scorpion 1909(the other model) Large and it fits me perfect - wish the sleeve was an inch or 2 longer though. I got long arms. I am confused between IMS 1909(jacket above) L or XL. Please suggest ? :) thanks in advance everyone. Nov 22, 2015

Brian E: I recently Purchased this Jacket and it seems to fit very tight. I'm 5'11, 226lbs, and an extra large usually fits me perfect, however it is a tight fit with this Jacket. If you have longer arms I would buy the XL. If I would have known how tight this XL fits, I would have bought a XXL! My arms are proportional and the sleeves are slightly longer than a perfect fit for my arms, but should be perfect for someone with longer arms. Hope that helps. BRIAN E. Nov 22, 2015

Brian F: The only difference in the jackets besides the aesthetic differences (IMS logo, no vertical striping in front, Scorpion "S" branding on sleeve & back) and the price is the fact that the IMS jacket comes with no armor, only pockets to hold armor you must purchase separately. Oh, and the IMS has an additional external zippered pocket on the left bicep. It's a great jacket and I see no reason why the L wouldn't fit if you have already tried one on and like it. Nov 23, 2015

Leland R: I got the large and returned it, and reordered an XL,which is on its way. I ordered the L based on customer comments, but I could barely zip it up without the armor inserts, and I wan to get the armor inserts. I am 5'9, 185 pounds. Nov 23, 2015

Blake T: L should fit you, I'm 6'7 205 and wear a large. Without armor it fits perfect, the armor pulls the sleeves up a little and doesnt seem to fit just right at the elbows, other than that it's a perfect jacket for taller riders. Nov 23, 2015

Martin P: Hey. If the Large fit your chest size I would suggest the L Tall. It will be ~1.5" longer in the arms and overall length. Nov 23, 2015

Jeff Brisendine H: I'm 6'3" 215lbs with long arms too. The XL fits me very well. Nov 23, 2015
stephen c asked: 6'3", 205 lbs (although trying to drop a few lbs). Jacket size usually a 42L. Have an XL Rev'it GTX Defender

L or XL? I'm taller than hi-viz brian.

Blake T: L, I'm 6'7 205, 42L jacket and the large feels like it was fit by a taylor. Have ordered and returned so many leather jackets before this one came yesterday - I ordered both L and XL btw Nov 14, 2015

A shopper asked: How do you select the non-branded (as seen on the video) version? Jul 6, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Craig C: The jacket in the video is the 1909 (not the IMS 1909). The plain 1909 is more money, I suppose because it includes armor. The IMS version does not include armor (which, I can't understand why). Nov 12, 2015
