What's this?

Scorpion EXO-R2000 Dispatch Helmet

The EXO R2000 is Scorpion's flagship performance race helmet. Built with exclusive TCT composite shell construction, the lightweight EXO-2000 was developed by Scorpion engineers with input from MotoGP riders and tested on the track as well as in the lab. Scorpion's exclusive Ellip-Tec ratchet technology ensures a tight seal around the shield while the advanced aero-tuned ventilation system produces generous airflow and circulation throughout the helmet.

The aerodynamically designed tear-drop shell shape minimizes buffeting at high speeds and the AirFit cheek pad system ensures a custom snug fit. The EXO-R2000 comes equipped with Emergency Release cheek pads, a standard EverClear shield PLUS a bonus Dark Smoke EverClear shield. Pinlock MaxVision- ready flat shields with tearoff posts are available as an accessory for the track (sold separately). Scorpion's DNA is infused into every facet of the EXO-R2000 and the result is a new benchmark for quality and value in a premium helmet.

Features:

 • TCT Composite Shell - Developed exclusively by Scorpion and consisting of a proprietary 5 layer blend of fiberglass, Aramid and organic poly-resin fibers
 • AirFit - Permits a rider to personalize helmet fit through air adjustable cheek pads
 • EverClear no-fog face shield - Optically-correct shield with state-of-the art fog-free technology and anti-scratch hardened coating
 • KwikWick II - Moisture-wicking helmet liner and cheek pads are breathable, easily removable and washable
 • KwickFit - Cheek pads accommodate easy on and off for most common styles of eye glasses
 • Elip-Tec Ratchet System - Easy, secure, tool-less face shield changes in seconds. Also pulls the face shield against the eyeport gasket when closed to ensure a proper seal
 • Emergency Release System - Tabs located under the neck roll allow easy removal of the cheek pads in case of emergency
 • Six intake air ports across the front of the helmet force cool air in while 10 exhaust vents maximize exhaust of hot air
 • Titanium Double D-rings
 • Includes Aero Skirt for increased aerodynamics and reduced wind noise
 • 5 year warranty
 • 4 shell sizes
 • Snell 2010 Certified

Note: Includes both clear and dark smoke face shields

Great!
This is my 2nd helmet from Scorpion (and in general), and I am 100% satisfied with the purchase. I originally had an EXO-500 and this is a much better fit for me. The four shell sizes make my size M much trimmer than the M-L shell I had before, and the somewhat more long internal shape fits me better than the EXO-500, which always left a bright red mark on my upper forehead after longer rides. I am exactly in between Scorpion's recommended sizes for M and L, and this M fits perfect. I would worry that a L would be too big. I have a small build, and this helmet doesn't look as bobble-head to me (the phantom black paint helps as well).

The helmet looks excellent. The spoiler on the back gives it a very aggressive profile, and the included dark smoke shield with the phantom black paint gives it a very edgy look. I love the subdued details on the dispatch paint vs a regular matte black helmet.

The helmet is of noticeably higher build quality than the EXO-500. The shield "ellip-tec" mechanism is much better than whatever the 500 has. It took me a few seconds to swap out the clear shield for the dark smoke on my first try (no instructions, of course). The shield lock/crack mechanism is also much better than the 500's, which I could never find (and often locked on its own while riding). The lever is at least twice the length, and has a solid actuation when locking/cracking the shield. The vent mechanisms also have a more positive feel to them when opening/closing.

Internally the fit/finish seems to have slightly more attention to detail. The included chin curtain is nice, and the breath guard works well for me. The fabric feels a little softer than the EXO-500, and the lip on the neckroll makes a nice seal that I felt was lacking on the 500. The field of view is slightly bigger than the EXO-500, most likely because I get to have a smaller shell size. The cheekpad pumping mechanism works great to get a tighter fit than you could without it. I have no doubt that this helps with noise.

When riding I immediately noticed that there was less buffeting at all speeds than with my EXO-500. The overall wind noise is also less, ESPECIALLY the low-frequency grumbling from fairing/windscreen turbulence. I'm not sure if there is slightly more mid- and high-frequency noise, or if I am just noticing it more due to the greatly reduced low-end noise. The low-end was causing me the most trouble, since earplugs virtually do nothing to stop it since it is largely conducted through the skull from the helmet. The EXO-500 was almost as loud with earplugs as it was without, for me. I could rock max attenuation plugs and still have my ears ringing after a 30 minute ride. (I ride a Suzuki GS500F, and the fairing + screen with its upright position are a recipe for turbulent air)

I was initially considering a Shoei RF-1200, but as far as I can tell this helmet offers equivalent bang for fewer bucks. You get a nice helmet bag, an extra visor, a visor bag, and the pump system that is exclusive to Scorpion, all for a price that is just right (even with a graphic). Scorpion has several great products that are priced very affordably. As another reviewer said, this is an actual racing helmet with technology inspired by the bleeding edge. I have tried on/handled many high-dollar helmets in various local shops, and this helmet belongs up there with the best of them.

I would definitely recommend this helmet to anyone.

I think I found the worlds best kept secret
Ok, I'm not typically someone to review products but this helmet was just too good to not let people know! If you are looking for the most bang for your buck this helmet is it. For only $400 you get a race helmet that Moto GP riders are wearing and that is a steal, plus two windscreens. The fit was true to size but it is certainly a snug race fit. I do track day riding and it was great because when I turn my head to look behind the this helmet didn't budge. Old helmets used to try to lift off my head. The inflatable cheek pads might be overkill but they did help me get a truly custom fit every time I put it on. At high speeds this helmet sliced through the air and was super stable and I love how tight the windscreen seals to the helmet because there is no annoying air blowing in my eyes. Speaking of airflow....this helmet has plenty to keep you cool with intake and exhaust ports to keep the air moving. They really got the styling right on too, it looks amazing. I took risk with this Scorpion since none of my friends have every owned one and was pleasantly surprised and I really think you will be too.

Great Helmet
I went helmet shopping a couple weeks ago to find a new helmet and fell in love with this one. After trying on over 20+ helmets this one fit perfect, and the air pump is a great addition. The only reason I didn't buy it in the store was because I wanted the "Phantom" color (which is very slick). Very comfortable fit, lightweight and the helmet is very quiet. I will definitely buy this helmet again and I definitely recommend it for all riders. I hated spending 400$ on a helmet, literally hated it, but if you are smart you move past that hatred, because your head is worth it. No matter how many times that phrase is used when shopping for helmets. Overall, awesome helmet. The dark smoke shield is also a nice addition.

In comparison to my Arai Signet Q...
This helmet is very, very good when considering its price. Well, even when not. In comparison, I also own an Arai Signet Q. In the Arai I can wear a large because of the removable cheek pad and temple peel offs. In the Scorpion I had to go with an XL. The air adjustment on the Scorpion is of no use to me, because the XL is quite snug. It fits better since I've been wearing it, though, and is now quite comfortable. I agree with others who claim this to be a quiet helmet. Much more quiet than the Arai, and the airflow is way better. Yes, overall the Arai is a better fit and finish, that is obvious. But I find myself wearing the Scorpion the most, lately. There is no comparison of quality when you consider the price, however. Paying $300 more for the Arai's extra quality is just not worth it, unless your budget allows. Yes, I would still buy the Arai, and yes I would still buy the Scorpion. They are 2 excellent helmets and I am happy with both. The Scorpion came with more features (extra dark tint shield, shield bag, nicer helmet bag than Arai, etc.) but the Arai gives the impression of a company that will stand behind you with no questions asked (though I have not dealt with Scorpion directly.) I have needed replacement parts from Arai (top vents, cheek pads) and Arai comes through with warranty replacement parts within a couple days. I like that the neck strap cover of the Scorpion goes over the entire neck strap, which is not the case with the Arai. That is a cheap feature of the Arai, which I don't understand. I don't like the feel of my Arai neck strap, but the Scopion is very comfortable. I bought the Sky Blue because it looks awesome, and almost matches the Caribbean Blue of my Triumph Street Triple.

Perfect For My Wants/Needs
I'm a brand new rider and this is my first helmet. I spent A LOT of hours researching the best gear for my wants and needs. I decided to go with the EXO-R2000 Dispatch because of its look/style, fit, and highly praised reviews. This helmet is tailored more for those with an intermediate oval shaped head that is more narrow (which is exactly what my head is). My head circumference measures 22 1/4 in. which is right between SM and M. I took a chance and went with a SM and so far, I am very happy with that decision. I will note however, that my longest ride has only been 20 min. I have had no problems at all. It is very comfortable and very lightweight!

As far as noise level and vision, I really have no credibility in reviewing those aspects, as this is my first helmet and I have nothing to compare it to. But, I will say that it doesn't seem loud (I don't feel like I have to wear earplugs) and I have had no problems at all with vision.

As for air flow, it is amazing! I typically sweat really easily but this helmet's design really limits that! In fact, I'm afraid it works too well. Haha. I'll definitely have to invest in a balaclava later on.

I went with the neon yellow design for that little bit of a hi-viz feature.

Super bang for your buck
Top of the line helmet from a reputable helmet maker for under $400?? Sign me up! I went into the showroom with full intentions of leaving with an Icon Airmada or Airframe. Coming from a 6year old Scoprion EXO-400, I figured anything would be an upgrade. After trying on the Icon helmets I was quite disappointed. Naturally my next move was to look at the Scorpion lineup. Went right to the top and tried on the R2000 and boy am I glad I did. The fit was perfect for my head and this thing is LIGHT in comparison to my EXO-400. Lots of airflow too.

In the product video here at revzilla, they mention this helmet's view is designed for someone in the 3/4 to full tuck position. I ride an FZ09 which is very upright and I don't have any issues with the positioning of the face shield opening or airflow or anything.

First Official helmet
First off I'm going to start off and say this helmet is for all. Ladies this includes you. I had a tough time finding a helmet that had a true style to it with great protection. I've tried some of the bell helmets but they made me feel like a bobble head and hurt the sides of my temples. I absolutely loved the fit of the aria helmets but one that didn't look like i just wanted to protect my head with a fishbowl wasn't that easy especially being in an area that doesn't have shops around for me to generously shop in. (I'm not big on buyin online just to ship back when it doesn't fit well)

You can not go wrong with this helmet. The phantom is more of a matte color and it is gorgeous. Be sure to look your helmet over when you first get it though. I found small paint chips gone at the base of my helmet near the chinstrap although it isn't big enough to be concerned about by any means if you are very particular i suggest looking it over as soon as you take it out of the box and before putting it on to try.

The chinstrap is a bit bulky but for everything you get with this helmet im not going to complain. The cheek pads make for an awesome fit and make this helmet extremely quite.

If you are a female and getting this helmet it will look a bit bigger on your head than you might expect but you can feel that it is very protective. I would rank this helmet up there with the big pricey ones and for everything you get with this and more its a steal.

The only thing I wish they could add to this is the transitional lens so you don't have to tote around two separate lens.

Great Helmet but check the mfg date
I recently purchased this helmet as part of the closeout sale. The quality is very good and it is very light compared to my previous helmet, which was a Bilt techno. It comes with a lot of features. One of the selling points for me was that the helmet is Snell 2010 rated. I would like to caution however that you may want to check the manufacture date on the helmet. I just purchased mine in November 2015 and was little surprised to see that the helmet was manufactured in April 2014. With a limited shelf life this does shave off some of the expected life of the helmet, however because this was part of a close out sale I don't think it's a bad buy.

Great looks, light, two lenses, good ventilation but fairly loud.
I have a head shape somewhere between an intermediate oval and a long oval, and wear a 7-5/8 to 7-3/4 fitted hat. I bought the XL based on that hat size and it fits well, whereas the LG was probably going to be a little uncomfortable front-and-back as the hours went on. It's a tight squeeze at the opening for normal shaped ears, but once on, the neck roll and the chin curtain do an excellent job of stopping air from coming in at the bottom. The air fit cheek pads are nice too, and can keep my pronounced chin away from the close-fitting chin bar.

Including two visors is nice, and there's also a nice helmet bag and cloth sleeve for the extra lens. The visors are distortion free and seal well. They seem to have a little of an anti-fog quality to them, but it's only so effective. The helmet flows a lot of air up top, but the chin vent doesn't, so if it's 50*F and wet out, it does fog a bit. Having it super clean seems to help however, as does the breath deflector.

The downside of the air flow, is the helmet is rather loud for what you're paying. As in, as loud or louder than my $130 HJC CL-17. It'll be great in summertime or on the track, but be warned that for a daily wear/commuter helmet, the noise is a little much, so I continue to wear ear plugs. Over all I love the helmet for what it is, a great looking aggressive sportbike helmet, and don't regret the purchase at all.

Better than Arai
I have been riding, racing, and doing track days for many years and have had many Arai helmets and a Shoei, HJC, and now this Scorpion and am really impressed. The air pump feature is awesome! I like to ride with a tight helmet and generally go with a small size. I should have bought the medium because the air pump would have given me a fit that would not allow the helmet to rotate while allowing for a really comfortable fit around the crown of my head. But it seems to be breaking in to be good. The helmet is a bit thought to initially get on but the material that makes it tough to get on provides unsurpassed quiet. This is definitely the best value and a really ultra safe. I am now a huge fan of this brand and you will be as well.

I picked this helmet because of the closeout sale. The price on this helmet right now is unbeatable. For only $229.95 you can get a tri-composite helmet, that is ridiculous. I was originally going to get an Icon Airmada Shadow Warrior helmet. While I was looking in the closeout sale section I found this and I couldn't pass on it. The graphics are amazing and with the price it should be considered stealing :D

I read all the reviews I could find online, I was able to try the R2000 on for size at a sho.The Scorpion measuring guide indicated my 23.5" head should be in a large helmet. I tried on XL, L, and S. Large fit perfectly. Rev'zilla price matched and got the price down a little. I chose to do business with them because of the price and their reputation. This was my first purchase from Rev'zilla.

Anthony's video mostly convinced me as well as other rider reviews. I have worn auto racing helmets in my track car so wearing a sport type helmet took a few days to get used to but it is a great fitting and looking helmet.

Did tons of web based research AND personal research with fellow sport riders.I compared to Arai Bell and Shoei in the same performance class. With features/technology, the price point of this lid and the level of field research/development backing it up, none of the other brands made any sence. I have never owned a Scorpion EXO helmet and I have placed high expectations on this helmet. I just hope I am not let down. We shall see and I will post a review when my order arrives.

Love the fit, finish, and the features. Best of all comes with a tinted shield.

I did not want to "cheap out" on my helmet. I want all the bells and whistles as well as the protection that I can get for the price. having the 10 exhaust vents on the rear is a nice touch in the coming SoCal summer weather. Adding the locking lever for the visor that also keeps it cracked open a hair is desired. The stunning aesthetics are just the cherry on top.

Reviews looked really nice, good price and I hope it will match my s1000rr fire blue

It looks hot!! It has good airflow, it is light weight, The "zilla geek" recommended it, It is seems like a great helmet for the mid price range. This is my first Scorpion helmet.

Seems like a good deal. Nice graphics. Snell rated swung the purchase Waiting to receive it to see the fit. Head between 56 and 57cm. Picked medium for a easier fit Will see if that works

I didn't want to skimp on the most important piece of protective gear. Reviews were great, and the dark visor was a plus.

I was looking for a top rated safety helmet at a decent price and a good bang for the buck. I am hoping it fits my head

My previous Scorpion helmet was starting to show wear and tear so I decided to replace/upgrade it. This is my 3rd Scorpion helmet and I have been impressed with the previous two as far as features were concerned, especially at such a good price. I saw this helmet on Revzilla a few months back and finally decided to give it a try.

Great in-depth video reviews for this helmet and a very positive international shopping experience.

Revzilla is my new gateway drug.
Anthony E on Dec 20, 2013
I picked your company because your revzilla cash for next purchase and because of the effort you put forth in making those review videos............................Thank you, Ken Thomas

Hi,
I am looking at a Scorpion R2000. I was wondering how comfortable it would be in daily riding and touring?

Regards,
Abhishek

I'm planning of buying this helmet, but is the phantom color matte black/gray? Or more of a gloss?
Henry N on Nov 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: For others reading this review...The Sky Blue helmet is entirely gloss with no matte. I was hoping for it to be matte.
Hey folks.. Planning to buy this helmet , how does the helmet perform in an upright riding position? I understand that this model is fine tuned for the racers but i will be using it for street in an upright riding position. Any feedback would help.
Goutham S on Sep 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's an awesome looking helmet. I wish I could have kept it though. I had to return it because the head shape didn't fit me very well. Its a intermediate oval. I wear the corse air V on as my main helmet. Its meant for the race track also but it's works fine in the streets.
I'm worried that the fit on the small may be too tight. Does the small shell accept medium liners?

Can a Bluetooth intercom be installed in this helmet?
A shopper on Apr 10, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes, a number of Bluetooth devices can be installed on the helmet in question. Two of our favorites are the Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth Headset & Cardo Scala Rider G9. The G9 has superior speaker/sound quality, however the SMH-10 is much easier to use. For reference, the SMH-10 has two buttons whereas the G9 has six.
How is the sky colored one in terms of visibility?
A shopper on May 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's visible but without "all up on your face" colors. It also has reflectivity by the neck area which adds to the visibility. Great helmet! Can't go wrong with it
I am choosing between Scorpion EXO-R200 which is positioned as 400 dollars helmet of 600+ dollards quality and Shark Race-Pro Stinger which is 600+ dollar by the 400 dollars price (due to discount). How would you compare them?
A S on Mar 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: While I can't compare that Shark specific model I have gone through a few $500+ Arai's and Bell Star's and I can tell you that I'm done paying over $400 for a race helmet. The fact that the R2000 is used in MotoGP and other FIM race classes is outstanding. The fit/finish IMO is better on the R2000 and after crashing in expensive Arai's/Bell's I'm done wearing them on the race track when their features are no better than the R2000. Personally, the Bell Star is one of the loudest helmets I've raced in and for almost $600 I don't want to go deaf from wind noise even with ear plugs in!
How does the shell size itself compare to other brands? I've owned an Arai Vector, which had a beautifully compact profile, also a Shoei RF-1000 and RF-1100 which were a little larger, but didn't make me look like a bobble head or interfere with my gear. Just want to make sure it's more on the compact side, rather than the bobble head side like the Bell lineup. Thanks.
Jonamoto on Feb 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I was at a store and compared both the RF-1100 and the R2000 side by side. I ended up buying the R2000 from Revzilla. I preferred the R2000 because of it's compact size and awesome design features. The R2000 was a bit small and more aerodynamic than the RF-1100. Also the phantom black color scheme looks very nice. It's a very good helmet for it's price.
Thinking about buying this helmet but I was curious on how it did in hot weather climates? I'm moving to the southern tip of Texas and it was 93 degrees and sunny on 1-31-16
Taylor K on Feb 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Like any helmet if you're not moving its going to be hot, but with airflow I was very pleased with how this helmet handles. The vents set to open provide great airflow, be leery though if you sit tight and low behind a windscreen it can get hot (sport bike) but on a cruiser no problem. I'm in Indiana where its 90+ in the summer with 90%+ humidity. I would buy this helmet again in a heart beat! Feel free to reply with any other questions and I will try to assist you. I love this helmet though for sure.
Hey guys I really like this helmet and I'm thinking about upgrading to it from my airmada. I'ved tried it in the store but my only problem is I have a ton of trouble getting my ears in. Usually one of my ears ends up bent and i take a while till it unbends And yes I put on a helmet right (Roll it on to head with forehead). Has anyone had this issue? It is something that would seem quite troublesome. But i'm hoping maybe it will break in and be easier to put my ears in and keep them from folding. Has anyone has a fix for this or any solution?
Curtis J on Oct 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Oh I know it will loosen up but around the ears? I believe the reason my ears are having trouble going in is because the ear port is just so small compared to my airmada and many other helmets. Did you have the same problem when you got helmet? Haha did it go away?
