Scorpion EXO-R2000 Dispatch Helmet

The EXO R2000 is Scorpion's flagship performance race helmet. Built with exclusive TCT composite shell construction, the lightweight EXO-2000 was developed by Scorpion engineers with input from MotoGP riders and tested on the track as well as in the lab. Scorpion's exclusive Ellip-Tec ratchet technology ensures a tight seal around the shield while the advanced aero-tuned ventilation system produces generous airflow and circulation throughout the helmet.

The aerodynamically designed tear-drop shell shape minimizes buffeting at high speeds and the AirFit cheek pad system ensures a custom snug fit. The EXO-R2000 comes equipped with Emergency Release cheek pads, a standard EverClear shield PLUS a bonus Dark Smoke EverClear shield. Pinlock MaxVision- ready flat shields with tearoff posts are available as an accessory for the track (sold separately). Scorpion's DNA is infused into every facet of the EXO-R2000 and the result is a new benchmark for quality and value in a premium helmet.

  • TCT Composite Shell - Developed exclusively by Scorpion and consisting of a proprietary 5 layer blend of fiberglass, Aramid and organic poly-resin fibers
  • AirFit - Permits a rider to personalize helmet fit through air adjustable cheek pads
  • EverClear no-fog face shield - Optically-correct shield with state-of-the art fog-free technology and anti-scratch hardened coating
  • KwikWick II - Moisture-wicking helmet liner and cheek pads are breathable, easily removable and washable
  • KwickFit - Cheek pads accommodate easy on and off for most common styles of eye glasses
  • Elip-Tec Ratchet System - Easy, secure, tool-less face shield changes in seconds. Also pulls the face shield against the eyeport gasket when closed to ensure a proper seal
  • Emergency Release System - Tabs located under the neck roll allow easy removal of the cheek pads in case of emergency
  • Six intake air ports across the front of the helmet force cool air in while 10 exhaust vents maximize exhaust of hot air
  • Titanium Double D-rings
  • Includes Aero Skirt for increased aerodynamics and reduced wind noise
  • 5 year warranty
  • 4 shell sizes
  • Snell 2010 Certified

Note: Includes both clear and dark smoke face shields

Scorpion EXO-R2000 Dispatch Helmet 4.8 5 103 103
Great Helmet but check the mfg date I recently purchased this helmet as part of the closeout sale. The quality is very good and it is very light compared to my previous helmet, which was a Bilt techno. It comes with a lot of features. One of the selling points for me was that the helmet is Snell 2010 rated. I would like to caution however that you may want to check the manufacture date on the helmet. I just purchased mine in November 2015 and was little surprised to see that the helmet was manufactured in April 2014. With a limited shelf life this does shave off some of the expected life of the helmet, however because this was part of a close out sale I don't think it's a bad buy. November 16, 2015
great fit. great vision. lots of air flow Fits great. Love the air cusion cheeks. And overall just a great buy. November 2, 2015
Great helmet. I've received multiple compliments on how cool this helmet looks, particularly with the tinted visor on. Unfortunately, despite the fact that the visor is advertised as anti-fog, it does fog up occasionally. The inside becomes scratched very easily, even though I tried wiping it with microfiber cloth, and the scratches seem to make the fogging even worse, since I'm assuming the scratches are damage within the anti-fog element. Otherwise, this helmet is super comfortable and has that great premium feel compared to my HJC IS-17. If it weren't for the visor fogging issue I'd probably give this helmet 10/10. October 27, 2015
Great helmet for the price. This helmet is very lightweight and comfortable. Good ventilation and good looking. I would definitely recommend this helmet. Also like that it came with a dark shield included. October 19, 2015
Exceptional helmet at an exceptional price! I ordered this helmet in the neon flavor, and the pictures do not do it justice. It's pretty wild looking in person. Out on my Sunday ride yesterday, a group of kids stopped and stared at me while I was stuck at a traffic light. Their parents and the kids pointed at me as if I was a superhero of sorts. I thought it was hilarious and waved at them as I rode off. I'm sure the matching Scorpion Podium suit had something to do with that. The helmet came with two shields, one clear and one smoked. It fits very true in regard to size, but it's leaning towards the longer-oval face shape. I have more of an intermediate-oval face shape and the nose/mouth shroud to keep the fog off the shield is sitting a little low. Still gets the job done well, but the shroud is a little on the short side in comparison to my Scorpion Exo400 helmet. This may be a factor of bike choice as I'm on an FZ09 w/ a Puig Touring windscreen, but I feel this helmet is designed for a race tuck riding position. It flows a tremendous amount of air and is dead silent if you're tucked at speed, no buffeting even behind the largest vehicles and crosswinds. Although no serious buffeting while riding upright, for those of you on standards and naked bikes, it's pretty noisy. I wear earplugs or headphones, so it doesn't bother me a whole lot. My old Scorpion Exo400 is a better commuting helmet so, and this Exo2000 is a better sport and track helmet. It had pump up cheek pads which is kind of cool. Makes a perfect custom fit each time, remembering to deflate each time you remove the helmet is a separate issue. It also doesn't seem to have much room in the ear pockets. I was debating on relocating my Sena SMH5 to this helmet, but I think the speakers would be directly touching my ears. Ear bud headphones seem to be fine though. Scorpion actually included a notice with the helmet advising against the use of audio/bluetooth devices as it may compromise the helmet's effectiveness in protecting your head. The other really cool feature is the emergency removal tabs on the underside. They're just quick pull tabs should emergency personnel have to remove your helmet with instructions to deflate the cheek pads first. All in all, an awesome helmet for it's purpose. I'll be using this for track and aggressive riding. My old Scorpion will remain my commuter helmet. October 12, 2015
Amazing Bang for the Buck, but had to return it I will start by saying that I returned it only for one reason, and it is a very personal one. I ride an NC700X and the helmet did not fit the trunk. THAT IS ALL. The fit is true to the size chart and a bit tight because it is a sports helmet. It is comfortable though and the field of vision is fairly good. I didn't get to ride with it so my review is limited, but I can tell it is really light and I could barely here my friends talk to me when I put it on, so I am guessing it is a fairly quiet helmet. For less than $300, you get a SNELL and DOT approved helmet that looks super cool and has the awesome air cheek pads function. I would totally recommend it if you don't mind a shape that won't fit into the trunk of an NC700X. October 10, 2015
Exceptional quality for the price! As a prior owner of a Scorpion helmet the choice was quite simple when I started shopping for a new lid. I had the opportunity to check out the new EXO R2000 Fortis at the AIM Expo in Orlando, Florida this year and was very impressed with the quality of materials used and overall fit and finish. I really like the fact that it comes with a clear and dark smoked shield. The graphics are just awesome and get a lot of compliments. In my opinion, you can't beat the quality for the price as this helmet gives some of the other top brands a run for their money. Buy it, you'll love it! November 23, 2015
This scorpion helmet is a very solid choice that you couldn't go wrong with It's a very solid helmet don't have any complaints really it does what it's suppose to and the breakdown anythony does tells you everything you need to know about this helmet October 5, 2015

Edgar B: I read all the reviews I could find online, I was able to try the R2000 on for size at a sho.The Scorpion measuring guide indicated my 23.5" head should be in a large helmet. I tried on XL, L, and S. Large fit perfectly. Rev'zilla price matched and got the price down a little. I chose to do business with them because of the price and their reputation. This was my first purchase from Rev'zilla. Sep 7, 2015

Michael G: Did tons of web based research AND personal research with fellow sport riders.I compared to Arai Bell and Shoei in the same performance class. With features/technology, the price point of this lid and the level of field research/development backing it up, none of the other brands made any sence. I have never owned a Scorpion EXO helmet and I have placed high expectations on this helmet. I just hope I am not let down. We shall see and I will post a review when my order arrives. Sep 28, 2014
Richelle R: Looks sweet and fits well. Love this helmet! Aug 24, 2014

J E: After a ton of comparison, overall best for the buck. Jul 10, 2014
T E: Blue helmet matched almost exactly to my fire blue s1000rr. really good racing helmet but the shell is extremely hard..Adding an earpiece for a scala rider is extremely difficult. Jul 7, 2014
Matthew M: Friend uses a scorpion helmet and loves it. I thought I would give Scorpion a shot. The ventilation system and the extra dark cloud visor may have gently influenced my purchase haha Jul 3, 2014
Jaspreet L: Love the fit, finish, and the features. Best of all comes with a tinted shield. Jun 22, 2014
Anthony N: I did not want to "cheap out" on my helmet. I want all the bells and whistles as well as the protection that I can get for the price. having the 10 exhaust vents on the rear is a nice touch in the coming SoCal summer weather. Adding the locking lever for the visor that also keeps it cracked open a hair is desired. The stunning aesthetics are just the cherry on top. Jun 5, 2014
T E: Reviews looked really nice, good price and I hope it will match my s1000rr fire blue Jun 2, 2014

A shopper asked: Can a Bluetooth intercom be installed in this helmet? Apr 10, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (2) No (0)
RevZilla: Yes, a number of Bluetooth devices can be installed on the helmet in question. Two of our favorites are the Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth Headset & Cardo Scala Rider G9. The G9 has superior speaker/sound quality, however the SMH-10 is much easier to use. For reference, the SMH-10 has two buttons whereas the G9 has six. Apr 16, 2013
Reply to RevZilla Good answer? Yes (2) No (0)
James B: While I agree with Revzilla there are no speaker pockets and the fit of the R2000 is geared towards snug since its their race model so don't expect much give from the liner/cheekpads. May 7, 2014
Reply to James Good answer? Yes (2) No (0)
Trevor B: I personally have the Sena SMH-10R installed in mine and it works wonderfully. The only thing I had to do to get it to fit nicely was to get the sena slim speaker for it because the large ones that come with it would press into my ears (because of the snug fit of the helmet) The slim speakers are just as nice as the large ones. (I have a 2nd helmet that i have the large speakers in) Jul 15, 2015

Adam W: I have a Uclear HBC-100 installed in mine. It was very tight at first, but now that I've broken the helmet in, I rarely notice the speakers. No pressure points. Although I have a boomless mic, so I can't speak on headsets that have a separate mic in front. Sep 22, 2014

Goutham S asked: Hey folks.. Planning to buy this helmet , how does the helmet perform in an upright riding position? I understand that this model is fine tuned for the racers but i will be using it for street in an upright riding position. Any feedback would help. Sep 25, 2014

young l: It's an awesome looking helmet. I wish I could have kept it though. I had to return it because the head shape didn't fit me very well. Its a intermediate oval. I wear the corse air V on as my main helmet. Its meant for the race track also but it's works fine in the streets. Sep 25, 2014

Richelle R: I ride a ninja 650 and most of my riding is around town and short trips. I love this helmet! Nice snug fit and I don't have a lot of noise. I have a scala rider system and can listen to music and have conversations comfortably even when cruising at 70 mph Sep 25, 2014

Jonathon F asked: How does the shell size itself compare to other brands? I've owned an Arai Vector, which had a beautifully compact profile, also a Shoei RF-1000 and RF-1100 which were a little larger, but didn't make me look like a bobble head or interfere with my gear. Just want to make sure it's more on the compact side, rather than the bobble head side like the Bell lineup. Thanks. Feb 12, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Henry N: I was at a store and compared both the RF-1100 and the R2000 side by side. I ended up buying the R2000 from Revzilla. I preferred the R2000 because of it's compact size and awesome design features. The R2000 was a bit small and more aerodynamic than the RF-1100. Also the phantom black color scheme looks very nice. It's a very good helmet for it's price. Feb 12, 2014

Richelle R: I like how it looks....not bulky at all. As a woman it doesn't seem to be cumbersome or oversized. Fits nice and love that you can pump up the cheek pads for a custom fit. And it just looks sweet, too! Feb 12, 2014

Kim K.S. G: I have a Scorpion 400 (I picked it up at a local track for $100) just because I like the graphic.
and it turned out that it's way better than my Shoei RF1100! The wind noise alone is a huge factor.
The Shoei isn't worth the space it takes in my world.

The 2000 is my next helmet. Good bye Shoei Hello Scorpion!

Anthony E: II ordered strictly by the size chart in Large and found the shell to be a bit too low on the neck and tight on the top of my head relative to my other helmets. It fit well in some areas but not in others, so I ended up selling it.

For reference, I also own an Scorpion EXO 400 in XXL and a HJC CL-14 in medium, and despite the size differences they both fit reasonably well. I suspect that had I ordered the R2000 in an XL it would have fit quite nicely as I was on the upper end of Large.

Perhaps I don't have a typical head shape, but I'm still impressed with this helmet. Top notch all around.

James B: The R2000 utilizes 4 shells sizes and I would compare it much to the new Bell Star's (which I own) since they use 4 shell sizes now as well. The R2000 feels a little better than the Star in my opinion, for example; I'm exactly a 57cm and on the race track I like a snug helmet so I went with a small which doesn't cause me any pain, but the Star small gives me a crazy headache. So unless you swap out cheekpads that's what you get as default. May 7, 2014

Curtis J asked: Hey guys I really like this helmet and I'm thinking about upgrading to it from my airmada. I'ved tried it in the store but my only problem is I have a ton of trouble getting my ears in. Usually one of my ears ends up bent and i take a while till it unbends And yes I put on a helmet right (Roll it on to head with forehead). Has anyone had this issue? It is something that would seem quite troublesome. But i'm hoping maybe it will break in and be easier to put my ears in and keep them from folding. Has anyone has a fix for this or any solution? Oct 10, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Curtis J: Oh I know it will loosen up but around the ears? I believe the reason my ears are having trouble going in is because the ear port is just so small compared to my airmada and many other helmets. Did you have the same problem when you got helmet? Haha did it go away? Oct 11, 2014
Reply to Curtis Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Christopher R: Since you're already putting the helmet on correctly, I don't have a fix but I don't have the problem and I would expect that after a while you won't either Oct 17, 2014

Andrew D: It does seem really tight right away but it does loosen up. On longer rides i sometimes have pain on the tops of my ears however.
Best of luck, Andrew

A S asked: I am choosing between Scorpion EXO-R200 which is positioned as 400 dollars helmet of 600+ dollards quality and Shark Race-Pro Stinger which is 600+ dollar by the 400 dollars price (due to discount). How would you compare them? Mar 9, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
James B: While I can't compare that Shark specific model I have gone through a few $500+ Arai's and Bell Star's and I can tell you that I'm done paying over $400 for a race helmet. The fact that the R2000 is used in MotoGP and other FIM race classes is outstanding. The fit/finish IMO is better on the R2000 and after crashing in expensive Arai's/Bell's I'm done wearing them on the race track when their features are no better than the R2000. Personally, the Bell Star is one of the loudest helmets I've raced in and for almost $600 I don't want to go deaf from wind noise even with ear plugs in! May 7, 2014

A S asked: does this helmet have speaker cutouts inside the helmet ? Oct 7, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Anthony N: I wouldn't say cutouts in the helmet itself, but the padding is shaped around your ears, giving ample room to fit speakers inside. I commuted with this helmet and often used earbuds to listen to music and the helmet caused no discomfort at all. Even on a 500 mile ride. Oct 21, 2015

John W asked: Does the Scorpion EXO-R2000 Dispatch Helmet run a little smaller than the Scorpion EXO-400? Apr 28, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Darren L: I own both helmets in medium and the fit feels pretty similar to me. The EXO-R2000 feels just a bit tighter but it is pretty new and has only been used for 5-6 days while the EXO-400 is my daily commute helmet with 2 years of use. I'm sure after break in they will will feel the same. Apr 28, 2015

Erik H: This helmet has actually fit larger than most Scorpion helmets that I have owned. This system relies on inflatable bladders in the cheek padding to tighten the fit. This helmet is best suited for people with round heads instead of narrow heads. Jun 22, 2015

A shopper asked: I need a lighter helmet. I never realized my old Scoprion EXO-400 was heavy and just assumed neck pain was normal on longer rides until I tried on a Fulmer and rode 500 miles with absolutely no neck pain (I'm sure the scorpion muscled me up over the last 2 years). I want to get another Scorpion, but won't do so until I know the weight. Does anyone have the exact weight of this helmet (preferably a size small)?? Any weight specs would be helpful. Thank you! Jul 9, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Emily H: Hey, sorry about your neck pain... I previously only road with my Shoei RF, but I just bought this Scorpian Helmet last month and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's EXTREMELY comfortable and vented, and once it's on my head I'm pretty happy lol. It's difficult to get on and off my head, but I think that's a good thing. I was afraid to try Scorpian after loving my Shoei so much but I can't recommend this helmet enough. Also for weight reference, I wrecked bad in the fall, and cracked my Shoei. I broke my collar bone in two places and had a bone fracture in my neck. And I have no problem with the helmet, I'm 95 lbs and wear it in a Small. Good luck!!!! Jul 9, 2014

Michael B: Weight was a very important factor for me as well. The Dispatch is the lightest helmet I could find that was not carbon fiber. Neck pain can also be caused by the wind drag of the helmet. That would apply an unnatural pressure on your neck and cause soreness. Weight is quite negligible after wearing a helmet a couple times. Did you have anything protruding from the helmet; like one of those shark fins?

The Dispatch is awesome. Just remember, the run a little tight.

angie r: Hi there! The Scorpion EXO-R2000 is my third Scorpion helmet and by far my most favorite. I have an XL and I find it to be the most light weight (I don't have the actual specs) helmet of the three. This new style also has improved aerodynamics and airflow and it seems that the visor is wider which improves visibility. Hope this helps. Jul 9, 2014

balaji r: I got the EXOR2000 in red white black looked awesome. I actually stood on a scale with and without, and weighed it but did not store the information. Here is the weight information from the SHARP website:
Make Scorpion Model Exo 2000 Type Full face Weight 1.40kg Sizes XS S M L XL XXL Price from 280.00 Retention system Double D ring Construction materials Composite Fibre Other standards UN ECE REG 22.05
It felt good but it was too long for my face. Failed the usual fit tests. Returned (Thanks Revzilla!)
I went with a RF1200 Mystify in Red Black and am happy as a clam The Shoei fits me better. More money but I am happy with the change. The surface on the scorpion was rough and I was not happy about that. My Small Shoei RF1200 weighs exactly 3.4 lb and the scorpion felt about the same

Terek V asked: I'm new to riding, and this will be my first helmet. I'm looking to get either a cafe racer or cruiser, but also like the style of the Ducati--planning to get a bike off of Craigslist, so I'm willing to invest in a safer helmet until I can afford a safer bike. I would like to add a Bluetooth system to whichever helmet I get, without cutting out any of the safety foam.
Right now, I've narrowed it down to two helmets, and would appreciate any advice you're willing to lend me.

The Scorpion EXO-R2000 Dispatch (Phantom).
Pros: Cost. Comes with smoke lens and can get a mirrored lens. Snell rated. Matte black with cool design. Lightweight. Internal flip-visor is cool, although not sure how often I'd use it.
Cons: Have tried it on in a store, and it feels a bit bobblehead-ish. Seems to be built for more forward/leaning position riding. The shape of the helmet is kind of blasé.

The AGV AX-8 EVO Naked (Matte Black).
Pros: Absolutely badass shape design I haven't been able to find in any other helmet (if you know of any others in this price range, please let me know!). Matte black. Lightweight. Good visibility. Can get a smoke lens.
Cons: More expensive than the Scorpion R2000, with seemingly less features. I hear that fitting a Bluetooth system into this helmet doesn't really work, which is something I want to do for music, phone calls, and mostly navigation. Can't get a mirrored lens (unless someone knows of an aftermarket brand for this helmet?). AGV logo on the forehead kills the look of the helmet, any way to take this off without ruining the helmet?

Any advice on this matter would help me a lot, and if there's a helmet that you'd think I'd like more that follows what I'm looking for, let me know. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Erik H: I have been using Scorpion helmets for super sport riding for years. This is probably one of the only American helmet companies on the market. Scorpion helmets have always offered the same or similar features of helmets that cost twice as much. I have the Dispatch helmet and it does not have the flip down visor like other Scorpion helmets--a feature that I really like when using a clear screen. The shape of the helmet is definitely shaped for more rounded heads and I had the same concern of feeling "bobblehead-ish". After breaking in the pads and strap, the helmet fits well and the shape/design works well with all riding positions. I have had more ovular helmets that fit my head better, but that design causes extra neck strain when looking left or right when changing lanes at speed or higher. The Dispatch is comfortable, does not strain your neck while riding and breathes well. This helmet is both Snell and DOT certified and has quick release cheek pads in case emergency removal is necessary. As long as you are using in-ear buds, you should not have any issues using a Bluetooth device. If your Bluetooth device fits over the ear, you may not have enough clearance unless you purchase new, thicker pads from Scorpion. This helmet does have inflatable bladders to create a tighter fit and eliminate the initial looseness of the fit. Please note that I wear a large and other Scorpion models have fit snug out of the box, but the Dispatch was considerable looser until I broke it in and adjusted the bladder.

AGV's are great helmets, but I cannot offer any assistance with the fitting of a Bluetooth device. Revzilla offers great customer service and return policies, so since you are eager to ride make sure you find a good fit and accessories that meet your needs. A good helmet is something you should not skimp on, so find a helmet with great protection and fit.

Martin S: Hello Terek,

I own the Scorpion EXO-R2000 and I have nothing bad to say about this helmet. The R2000 is s great helmet and is designed to work best when in the full tuck or 3/4 position. This is mostly for sport bike riders (not saying it won't be a great helment for a cruiser).
In regards to adding a Bluetooth, there is a lot of space within the cheek pad and I don't think you would have to do any cutting to the original pad. Not a lot of helments can offer the same technology and certifications for the price of the R2000.
You can't go wrong for this helmet but I believe it would be a better helmet if riding in the full tuck or 3/4 is your thing.
Not sure if this was helpful or answered your questions but just my two cents.

Ride safe.

Evan B: The r2000 does not have an internal flip visor. That being said, it's a great helmet and with the added value of the extra visor you can't beat the price. I was able to install a sena smh10r bluetooth set without removing material inside the helmet. Makes it a little tight around the ears but not uncomfortable. Turn by turn directions in the headset are awesome, don't know how I lived without it. Music is distracting and makes hearing traffic around you impossible, super dangerous, but hey, roll the dice if you want. Great combo, great battery life, pairs with all sorts of other radios comms, phones etc. Nov 3, 2015

Kent S: It is a snug fitting lid which feels great for track sessions but I had it on for two hours straight on a jaunt and did have a few pressure point issues. It is relatively new and am told it should loosen slightly over time. I wear it primarily for long trips and it is a quiet lid. The chin web does tend to hold the heat in even with vents open. Andrew D: Ive ridden around 2000 miles with this helmet (all street miles) its a great helmet. A little pressure on the ears but it breaks in nicely. I have the red and flourescent yellow model and the yellow will fade in the sun. Its a great helmet and its really nice that it comes with the dark smoke shield. Aug 16, 2014

William K: I only do street riding in mostly 3/4 seating position and some full forward riding. It's pretty aero-dynamic in both positions. It's got decent peripheral vision for traffic. I find it to be very comfortable with no pressure points or "hot spots" as they're called. It was very snug at first and I was concerned but it broke in fast. Sep 4, 2014

A shopper asked: According to the Scorpion sizing chart I'm in between a small and a medium. My head size is between 56 and 57 cm. Is there not a size to fill the gap for that measurement? If not what size would you recommend I go with? Apr 14, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RYAN T: There doesn't seem to be a size for in between those sizes.....my head is also about a 56 maybe just a tad larger as well and I got a small helmet size. Keep in mind this is a snug fitting helmet and it also is going to depend on your headshape. I have an intermediate oval headshape, and where a size seven sometimes a little larger in hats. Like I said I got the size smalll helmet and wore it for about two hours to make sure I didnt have any pressure that might cause me to get a headache. The small works for me and I feel if I would have gone larger it probably would have been too big. Apr 15, 2014
Reply to RYAN Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Caitlin R: I would recommend the medium since this helmet has adjustable cheek pads. I am also between a small and a medium plus I have long hair that I like to keep in the helmet. I had to return the small because it was too tight, even with the cheek pads completely deflated, and am awaiting the arrival of the medium. Hope that helps. Apr 15, 2014
Reply to Caitlin Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
James B: Small for a snug fit, remember the cheekpads will loosen up the more you wear it, but not so snug it hurts your head. I'm at 57cm and wear a small for a snug fit but if I wanted all day comfort I would go with a medium. Both fit surprisingly well.

Go for the medium if you will wear it for long periods of time.

Kong V asked: I have a 6 year old SHOEI RF1100, how does this one compare to that one in terms of fitment and such? It will be replacing the SHOEI. I'm assuming it'll flow a lot more air, quality should be about the same, and maybe quieter and much lighter? Jul 15, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
William C: I don't know anything about the Shoei RF1100, but this helmet is great for the price. I have a pretty narrow, oblong head, and this helmet fits perfectly. There are no pressure spots, air flow is fantastic (I wore it for a year in south texas and never had a sweaty head after a ride), the 5 different shell sizes prevents the 'Bobble-head' effect, BUT it fits VERY snug; getting this thing on and off is a bit of a doozy. Also, it's loud as hell.... I do run a two-bros M2 V.A.L.E. exhaust, but I have to use earplugs on everything except for short commutes because the wind and exhaust noise is phenomenal. Oh yeah, and everyone I talk to says it's just about the lightest helmet they've ever held. Fantastic for even the hottest of track days, stable at high speeds when you're hanging off the bike and outside of the bubble, comfortable enough for every day wear, my only complaint is the noise. Wil S: Hey buddy, I've been using this helmet for a couple of seasons now, and I love it. I never had a Shoei helmet because I have a more round shape head, and the Shoei I've tried didn't fit me as well as the Scorpion. I think Shoei is more for oval shaped head. However this has a cool airpump feature which I think would help as the inside paddings gets worn out.
The weight is very good compared to my old AGV helmet.
Air flow is very good too, although sometimes I get a very light whistling sound in high speed when all the vents are open. Doesn't really bother me much though.
Anti fog system works really well in colder nights.

Kong V: ECE is only a European rating. In the USA, the DOT rating is equivalent to the ECE rating. SNELL goes above DOT/ECE and any other government rating. So if it's rated SNELL it's exceptionally good when crash tested. Jul 15, 2015

A shopper asked: I measure a 22 1/2 inches. I have an intermediate oval head shape slightly narrow at forehead/temple. According to size chart I should wear a medium is this accurate? Should I size up to a large due to air fit system?

Any additional info would be great!

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Christopher R: Normally I would wear a large. My first helmet was an XL Icon Airmada. It was way too big size-wise and way too big head-shape-wise. I am definitely not a long oval. Then I got a L Shark S700 (a lot less oval shape. intermediate or medium) which was a good fit, although I would have liked it to be a little more snug. According to the Scorpion helmet size chart, my head size fits me in the medium category as well. I e-mailed RevZilla to see if I could squeeze into a Medium even though my Shark was large. Adam said yeah go for it, you can buy a bigger helmet liner or cheekpads if you need to. So I got the EXO-R2000 (in the awesome looking sky blue colorway) in Medium and it fits great! Because of the air fit pump system, it fits better than my Shark did. Now I can get the cheekpads to squeeze my cheeks like they should (the air pump is on in the cheekpads). Now that I have the helmet, I wonder if I could have gotten a small! So no, I don't recommend that you size up. Either get the medium or maybe take a risk and see if the small can be broken in to be comfortable. Sorry my reply is scatterbrained. I hope you can understand it and that it answers your question. Filip L: I do not have a cruiser, but I did ride with this helmet on a borrowed Suzuki Boulevard M50, and it vented just fine. The vents actually seal shut very effectively when you do not want them, and you can feel the air circulating with them open. 80 mph head checks were not a problem either. I ride an SV650 most of the time, and the helmet is quite comfortable in that riding position as well. Aug 28, 2014

Ahmad S: Absolutely no difference at all. I tried both, and could barely see any advantage of one helmet over the other. The scorpion exo2000 though was more tight to my head than the hjc, and at high speeds has a better exhaust system than the hjc.
