First Helmet I've Owned
I'm a rookie so I can't compare to others. Was a bit worried because my head is oval shaped but I have a wide forehead. First put it on last night and immediately thought I was returning it but GIVE IT TIME. I watched the first half of the Seahawks and took it off. Trying it on again this morning felt far better. Rode my bike to work and have no complaints. Seals well but there is a bit of wind noise in general (maybe normal). Received several compliments on the helmet's look though.

First Modular helmet
I have had a Scorpion open face/shorty helmet for years now and love it. It has good quality materials and holds up well to wear and abuse. I am making the transition into a modular helmet because I recently purchased a sport touring bike. After doing tons of research and reading all of the reviews on several different modular helmets I decided to stick with Scorpion.
My head measured right between the large and XL so after reading the reviews and my current Scorpion fits small I decided on the XL. When I tried it on it was still tight in the forehead and the cheeks. Revzilla returned it quickly and easily and I traded up to the XXL. The XXL fits great and seems to be broken in after about 500mi.
The helmet is great quality and tons of visibility (something I was worried about coming from open face). I added the Sena bluetooth to it and it attached pretty well. Just as the revzilla video says you cant clip the Sena on the side but it glues on fine. The pockets for the speakers is not big enough and I had to cut away a small amount of foam to make them sit flush.

Pros:
- Good visibility
- Great quality (shell, pads and liner, shield, vent quality and movement are great
- Fits good and adjustable air pump if needed
- Good ventilation
- Chin bar operation is smooth and easy to use with one hand and gloves

Cons:
- Fits small
- Visor wont stay in the full up position while riding (I may be the only one with this problem but I like to raise my visor up when im hot)
- Sena Bluetooth cant clip and speaker cups are not big enough

My 1st modular helmet- so far I like it a lot. Runs slightly small/snug.
I've owned a few full face & open face helmets, so far I'm digging this Scorpion EXO-900X. It might be the new go to helmet on my rack. I've worn Shoei size Large and have always found them to be great helmets, but never really fitting well. Always slightly loose fitting and a little too big. Then the medium Shoei size being way too tight and quickly uncomfortable for me. Now the 900X (size Large). I like the look, fit, features and especially the relatively easy entry price of the 900X. It feels just slightly smaller in sizing than the older 900 Transformer model. If in between sizes, I'd suggest going up a size and maybe pump up the adjustment bladder if needed. I like how the flat black colored helmet is just that now, all flat black, no chrome or different colored trim pieces. Much cleaner. If there's anything I would change is the interior drop down visor could be darker in tint. Ventilation is fair, good medium to light helmet weight, seems relatively quiet, I would recommend.

Features cover all the needs of the rider.
The size runs small; order the next largest. If that feels a bit loose the handy air pump fine tunes the fit. Visibility is excellent; a feature that is so important. Wore it for 4 hours straight with no neck pain. This is the first helmet I've worn where you can feel the air flowing in the top and out the back. Friends remarked how they wish they had the removal chin pieces to keep the cold out on their helmet. This helmet has features to deal with all conditions.

Great helmet for the price
This is my first bike and consequently my first helmet. The thing that got me interested was the amount of features for the price. The retractable sun visor works great. The fit seems a little tight but haven't worn it a whole lot yet. Still hoping it will break in. Style is great. Ventilation could be a little better for really hot days but is sufficient. Anti-fog coating doesn't seem to do its job when sitting still on a cooler night but clears up pretty quick with the ventilation once you get going. Vision is good. Don't really have anything to compare the noise level too but it isn't very quiet. I like being able to open the whole front when sitting still to either talk more clearly or just let some fresh air in.

I liked the aggressive/modern feel to the helmet, but it wasn't so over the top that it would look weird while riding a cruiser. Companies need to make more gear that is sporty but does not clash with cruiser style because a lot of younger riders are choosing cruisers over sportbikes now or they will have one of each instead of just a sporty. Especially with the look of modern cruisers like the shadow phantom, vulcan S etc.

I ride once or twice per month these days (since my kids were born!) So this is a good modular helmet at a very good sale price. Certainly, I did like the GTX3000 more but also was more than double the price and didn't feel worth it given my more limited riding these days. Might have bought the Schubert C3 that was on sale but alas...none in my size. So this Exo-900X seemed a reasonable overall good choice for my needs.
Diego F L on Feb 29, 2016
Great fit and style. It is great that there is a sun shade built into the helmet. Also front flips up to take a drink when you've had a long ride!

After nine years, it was way past time to replace my helmet. I decided to go to a modular type and was also looking for an internal sun visor in a quality helmet. I have read and heard really good things about the Scorpion brand, and the closeout price made the deal. Also, my riding buddy liked my helmet so much he bought one from Revzill too!

I've been looking for a new helmet and wanted to stick with the modular design. Saw the Scorpion and loved the looks. I love the fact that I can take off the modular portion; especially in the summer when it's hot. I also bought the visor for the summer riding. I must say I read the reviews and everyone said go up a size. My original modular helmet was a Large, so I bought the XL. It was still too tight, so I got the 2XL which is perfect. Go to a store and try it on first.

I've got a fat face. Is this AirFit cheek pad liner optional or does it always have to be worn with it?
A shopper on Sep 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I removed my airfit cheek pad liner to install headset and tried my helmet on. The helmet was still comfortable though I have reinstalled mine. Even without the AirFit check pads installed, the helmet would provide more protection than a half helmet. Good ventilation, Love the shade shield. This is the most adaptive and flexable helmet I have ever owned.
This is one of the helmets I am considering getting. My head measures 23' and I noticed on the sizing chart I am between a medium and a large. I have never tried on a Scorpion helmet so I don't know how they will fit me. I do believe I am an intermediate oval and I would like to mention I wear eye glasses ?
A shopper on Aug 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: go with the large. i was between large and xl and after you wear it a bit it breaks in beautifully.
Does this helmet leak in the rain? I have read reviews of the previous version (EXO-900) and a common complaint was that they leak around the visor when being worn in the rain. I am wondering, does the EXO-900X have the same problem, or did they fix this issue?
Steven M on Jun 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: been through pretty big down pour with it on and had no problems with water leaking in. was about a 35 minute ride on interstate. 2 other times in town no problems either.
Can you wash the cheek pad/liners?
justin m on Apr 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can.
Is the open face peak visor included? I have read it is even though the description says it's not.
Victor G on Dec 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Fwiw, I owned an EXO-900 for quite a few years, and never once used the peak visor. It was a cool feature, but I can see why they decided to make it an option (and thus reduce the price of the helmet). I loved my 900 and will be buying myself a 900X for Xmas!
i need to wear glasses, and my sunglasses (prescription) are a bit on the thick side. will this model be ok, or should be looking at another model?
A shopper on Oct 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I tyoo wera glasses. It hasn't been a problem. Matter of fact, I am able to leave my glass on while I pull the helmet over my head because of it being open in front. My wife still prefers to put her glasses on after her helmet is in place. The only thing, The helmets appear to run small. Both my wiafe and I are in 3 sizes 3 up from the recommended. I couldn't get my glasses on at all in the smaller sizes, they were both way too tight.
My head is 22" spot on. I see in the sizing chart that 22 is the upper end of small, but medium does not start until 22 7/8. Which size should I buy in the Sorpion EXO900x?
luis s on Aug 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello Luis,
My head is 22in as well or 56cm. I bought a medium and the helmet fits really tight when you put it on specially around the ears. once it is on, it is still tight. My dealership recommended going up to a large but I think the fit is good on a medium
What is the best blue-tooth communicator to use with helmet? It seems that the new 900x makes it difficult to use with my Sena 10-10 communicator.
A shopper on Feb 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have a Sena. After pressing the speakers in really firmly a few times before rides and after a couple hours at first they are jammed in and will not move. There is plenty of room for the wiring and I used a glue mount for the base. I have had no trouble.
Is the internal visor on this helmet light smoke or dark smoke?
Kerwin A on Jan 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's a pretty light smoke. I often wear 80% yellow glasses under it, which makes it a bit darker, but it's definitely on the light side.
which communication device is best used with this type of helmet without modification ?
A shopper on Oct 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I just purchased the Sena SMH10 and I am pretty happy. I could not use the clamp-on mount because it would not fit around the edge of the helmet. I was able to use the adhesive mount and it is working well. Other than that I am pretty happy with the system.
