Great helmet! Caution if returning! First off revzilla is awesome! we liked this 900x helmet so much we bought two. one for my wife and one for me! we both tried on the 900x the fit was great and features even better. our best option for the Florida heat. ok the only issue my wife had. caution.. do not try to remove the front area of the helmet to place the sun visor on. it comes off easily but to get back on it is very hard. so hard in fact you will scratch the area around the ears.... when this happens you bought it!... Now for about my helmet when i received it in the mail. the drop down visor was loose and detached. no problem it went back in place right away. then only after 10 minutes I could feel pain on my forehead. when i tried the fit in a store in town. I had no pain. but wearing in the house for some time. I could feel the soar spot. Thanks to revzilla 30 day trial period. I did not have to be stuck a $200 HEADACHE ! September 1, 2015
Great helmet Got this helmet a couple months ago it's broke in nicely. A little snug at first but now fits my head pretty well. Love modular helmets and this one was definitely worth every penny. August 17, 2015
Great Helmet I had an EXO-400 for years and decided to switch to a modular helmet. They are both Scorpion helmets so I figured they would fit the same. NOT. Now I have a Large oval watermelon head. My EXO-400 was a XXXL and it fit well so I ordered the same size in the EXO-900. The EXO-900 is much more round in shape than the 400. Enough that it was painful to wear. According to WEB BIKE WORLD the 900 is the most oval shaped modular helmet there is. So if I want a modular helmet this one is it. I modified the inner padding to get a good fit. I know this reduces the safety margin of the helmet but what choice did I have. Now that I have it fitting right I love it. VISIBILITY is great there is no peripheral vision loss at all. the shield stays clear. We'll see how it does in the cold weather later. The drop down sunshade is wonderful. No more need for sunglasses. IT is a little on the noisy side. I expected this due to the fact that it is a modular. VENTILATION The chin vent is the best of any helmet I have ever owned. COMMUNICATIONS I also bought a SENA SMH-10 to use in this helmet. The clamp on the headset would not work on the helmet because of the trim around the bottom of the helmet. I did get it to work using velcro. The ear pieces have plenty of room. OVERALL I am very happy with this helmet. I would reccomend this helmet. I ride a Yamaha FJR and this fits in the saddlebag. August 6, 2015
Good Helmet I like the helmet a lot. Fits a little tight, but hopefully it will "break in" and be more comfortable. Disappointed in the air flow, but otherwise a great helmet. August 3, 2015
Great, but small fit Needed a new helmet, and this one met all my needs. Read others saying this was a small fit, and it is. There is an air cushion in the back that helps it fit to your neck better, but I don't use that part. All the controls for the visor/sunguard/modular part are easy to operate. Also pretty easy to take off and snap on the front face part. Overall I think this was a great buy and will probably get the same brand when it comes time to get a new helmet. Rated the comfort at 4/5 due to the tight fit. July 27, 2015
A good helmet for the money . This helmet has some great features like the built in sun visor and a pump to create a tighter fit around your cheeks . I order ed a large according to the size chart . Had to exchange it for an extra large . The REV makes it really easy to exchange items . On long rides its comfortable and fairly quiet . Riding into the sun the drop down sun visor works great . July 13, 2015
Good helmet at a good price I went from a 5 year old Vega full face to the Scorpion modular. I tried two on before purchasing and even though according to Revzilla's measuring guide I was a large, I was comfortable in the two Scorpion helmets I tried on, both were XXL. (A half helmet and a full face.) I got the modular in XXL and am very pleased with the snug but comfortable fit. On my first ride I noticed this helmet was quieter than my previous and also noticed I had more wind passing by my neck. I attribute this to the chin curtain on the Scorpion. Field of view and ventilation are good. Two minor drawbacks in my opinion: first, the chin vent lever is right where my hand grabs the chinbar when I open the helmet. This often closes the chin vent. Second, I like to ride with my face shield open on occasion. The face shield on the Scorpion will always drop down 1 or 2 notches when I ride with it up, putting the bottom of the shield in my line of sight. Overall I am very pleased and would recommend this helmet. August 25, 2015
Awesome looking helmet! I got the white helmet and got the silve lens with it and it looks awesome! I wear a 7 3/8 size hat and the large fit me pretty good maybe just slightly to snug. My only real complaint about the helmet is there is a hard spot near the jawbone where the chin strap is attached to the helmet that can hurt a little bit, but with a little bit of fiddling with it it works fine July 1, 2015

A shopper asked: This is one of the helmets I am considering getting. My head measures 23' and I noticed on the sizing chart I am between a medium and a large. I have never tried on a Scorpion helmet so I don't know how they will fit me. I do believe I am an intermediate oval and I would like to mention I wear eye glasses ? Aug 14, 2014

Alan S: Fwiw, I owned an EXO-900 for quite a few years, and never once used the peak visor. It was a cool feature, but I can see why they decided to make it an option (and thus reduce the price of the helmet). I loved my 900 and will be buying myself a 900X for Xmas! Dec 6, 2014

Rodney N: I tyoo wera glasses. It hasn't been a problem. Matter of fact, I am able to leave my glass on while I pull the helmet over my head because of it being open in front. My wife still prefers to put her glasses on after her helmet is in place. The only thing, The helmets appear to run small. Both my wiafe and I are in 3 sizes 3 up from the recommended. I couldn't get my glasses on at all in the smaller sizes, they were both way too tight. Oct 20, 2014
Reply to Rodney Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Paul P: I wear prescription glasses and the EXO-900X is great. My glasses are not thick, but has plenty of room for the visor. It is also great because I don't have to remove my glasses when putting on the helmet, because I can raise the front. Helmet is light, comfortable, and great ventilation. Highly recommended! Hieu P: My prescription lens are 7 mm and I wear them just fine with this helmet and the sun visor comes down with room to spare so I think you should be good. The sides off the helmet are really soft and I can get the glasses stems in it quite easily too. Oct 19, 2014

luis s asked: My head is 22" spot on. I see in the sizing chart that 22 is the upper end of small, but medium does not start until 22 7/8. Which size should I buy in the Sorpion EXO900x? Aug 26, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
G U: Hello Luis,
My head is 22in as well or 56cm. I bought a medium and the helmet fits really tight when you put it on specially around the ears. once it is on, it is still tight. My dealership recommended going up to a large but I think the fit is good on a medium
Aug 27, 2014

robert c: Go with a Medium. It will be really tight at first but there is a lot of break in. It will fit perfect even though you will think you are going to bite through your cheeks every time you talk for the first couple hours of wear. Feb 22, 2015

A shopper asked: I've got a fat face. Is this AirFit cheek pad liner optional or does it always have to be worn with it? Sep 15, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (1)
Rodney N: I removed my airfit cheek pad liner to install headset and tried my helmet on. The helmet was still comfortable though I have reinstalled mine. Even without the AirFit check pads installed, the helmet would provide more protection than a half helmet. Good ventilation, Love the shade shield. This is the most adaptive and flexable helmet I have ever owned. Sep 17, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
robert c: I have a Sena. After pressing the speakers in really firmly a few times before rides and after a couple hours at first they are jammed in and will not move. There is plenty of room for the wiring and I used a glue mount for the base. I have had no trouble. Feb 22, 2015

A shopper asked: which communication device is best used with this type of helmet without modification ? Oct 1, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Michael E: I just purchased the Sena SMH10 and I am pretty happy. I could not use the clamp-on mount because it would not fit around the edge of the helmet. I was able to use the adhesive mount and it is working well. Other than that I am pretty happy with the system. Oct 2, 2014
Reply to Michael Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Roy R: I have a Sena SMH-10, it works fantastic! It will work fine with the adhesive mount Sena provides. There are indentations in the foam for the speakers, but the speakers are just a little to large to fit in them. Oct 2, 2014
Reply to Roy Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
F R: not sure yet, but i have used a standard Bluetooth hooked up to my cell phone pretty easily with it on. as long as its not too bulky like one of those older jawbone models you should be fine. Oct 1, 2014

Coty B: I LOVE my helmet. It was tight at first but it has broken in within 6 months. I'm slightly above 22" and I bought a medium. I flip the visor up to take it on and off and it works great. I love it. I recommend the medium, get used to the tightness at first and it will mold to you perfectly. I now have Bluetooth speakers inside the helmet with my SENA SMH10R and it fits perfectly. A shopper asked: Thinking about this as a replacement for my HJC IS-MAX. Can anyone compare the two in terms of fit, is one particularly tighter in any areas? Would be looking at the 3x. Sep 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Coty B: Hey, can't compare the two helmets but I can say that the sizing chart is accurate for this product. This helmet seems to be tighter around the jaw than others I've tried, making it difficult for me to get it on/off but once it's on, it fits like a glove. Goodluck! Sep 2, 2014

DUBAN B asked: Hi, is possible connecting CARDO SYSTEM?' Aug 24, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Rodney N: Regarding connecting CARDO SYSTEM, cannot say for certain. My wife ad I have Harley Davidson intercoms. I had to cut a section of the plastic trim, which was easy enough and doesn't effect the safety or comfort of the helmet. The EXO-900X has been a comfortable pleasure. It's sort of modular making it easy to disassemble and reassemble and still solid. I would not personally have any reservations, but cannot say for certain. Good luck. Aug 25, 2015

Steven M asked: Does this helmet leak in the rain? I have read reviews of the previous version (EXO-900) and a common complaint was that they leak around the visor when being worn in the rain. I am wondering, does the EXO-900X have the same problem, or did they fix this issue? Jun 23, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Gene l: Only been in the rain, with this helmet, for minutes. Didn't leak then but certainly not long enough to make an educated judgement. Otherwise, a great helmet. Jun 23, 2015

A shopper asked: I have had two of the EXO-900 helmets. The first was XXL and was very uncomfortable with pressure on my forehead. The second is a XXXL. There is a little extra room on the sides but the length is okay. What size would you recommend I select for the EXO-900X? does the more oval shape extend to the interior of the styrofoam inner shell or is it the same shape and size as the EXO-900? Oct 8, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Gary H: I recently tried the EXO-900 on and I found it to be just slightly roomier than the newer 900X by just a little bit that I ended buying here from Revzilla. Maybe it's because the older 900 was a demo and was perhaps already broken in. I find the newer 900X (size Large) to be nearly perfect everywhere but noticeably snug in the cheekbone area at first, brand new but is already breaking in and fits great after a week of use. I don't even use the air pump adjustment feature because the helmet already fits pretty good, but I could see that being nice to have in case. This is my 2nd Scorpion helmet and both the half and modular helmets fit well. So far no fogging issues, fair ventilation, would recommend. Oct 8, 2014
