Scorpion EXO-500 Oil Helmet

The Scorpion EXO-500  immediately catches the eye with its innovative design, enhanced by a superb sharp ridge on the underside of the shell. Inspired by its older brother, the Scorpion EXO-1000 , the EXO 500 Helmet is based on the GT philosophy and is fitted as standard with the last generation visor of its elder.  And as if that were not enough, it integrates the SpeedView® built-in retractable sunvisor treated with anti-fog coating on both sides. Two accessories usually reserved for high-end helmets! Comprising 3 caps and a lighter and more durable shell than its predecessor, fitted with a very soft and comfortable inner lining thanks to the new KwikWick2® liner and triple density foam cheek pads, the Scorpion EXO 500 Helmets will drastically change your expectations from a full face helmet of the standard range. Equipped with the revolutionary Airfit® technology and a state-of-the-art ventilation system, chances are the new Scorpion will steal the show from the much more expensive helmets among those daily users who want to buy the best helmet for the best price.

Features

  • Kwikwick2® Liner - moisture wicking, hypoallergenic, removable, machine washable, soft
  • SpeedView® Retractable sunvisor - treated with antifog on both sides
  • Airfit® technology - Inflate and deflate the cheek pads to make it fit perfectly- this provides a better fit thus better safety and shock absorption.
  • Speedshift® visor system for extremely quick visor changes
  • EverClear® no-fog visor: Optically-correct aero-tuned shield with state-of-the art fog-free technology and anti-scratch hardened coating.
  • Advanced Polycarbonate Composite Engineered Shell: Quiet, aero-tuned design for wind-tunnel tested comfort. EPS-lined chin bar for additional protection.
  • Triple density foam cheek pads

overall a pretty good helmet. Great helmet for the price......................... June 25, 2014
Nice helmet for the money Bought this for my girlfriend (love my Shoei RF1100 too much to wear one of these myself). She loved the look of the helmet. The liner is super nice. Also it has a TON of features for a helmet in this price range but...the pump feature in the cheek pads isn't working. Honestly, I would've returned it but it fits her so well without inflating them, that we just decided to keep it. I do like the quick-change face shield on Scorpions, too. Overall it's a good value for the money. I really just took a star off for the busted cheek pads. June 11, 2014
Overall good helmet I really like the helmet so far. It fits pretty close to my HJC but a little snugger. It is a little louder than my HJC when tucked but I don't spend that much that time in a full tuck so I can live with it. The Air flow is really good especially up on top of my head. My only real complaint is the drop down visor doesn't go up enough on the right side. For some reason it's designed to sit just a bit lower on the right and in a 3/4 tuck it can be really annoying. Overall a really good helmet and a good price. The Revzilla gear guys were amazing in helping me out. June 3, 2014
Good Helmet The helmet looks good and delivers what what it says. It does fit a little large and looks rather round. It flows a good amount of air and I am comfortable riding in the summer in it. July 16, 2014
great helmet for the price love this helmet. the cheek pads are tight and certainly there is no need to "inflate" them, which I think is a bit gimmicky anyways. otherwise, this is loaded with features. love the internal sun visor and the mechanism is easy to use, feels solid. no fogging whatsoever. fit is overall great, especially now that it has broken in a bit. reasonably quiet. good airflow. BB, great for 1st time riders I was very pleased with this helmet. I spent a lot of time researching and this was a great buy for the money spent. It has good airflow and is made to last. The only negative is that it is a bit load compared to the other mid-high helmets. If you are a novice rider concerned with comfort and durability as well as good looks, juts click that buy button. YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT! - keep the rubber side down June 26, 2014
Good helmet, but a little noisy. Pros: Looks cool, high visibility, built in sunglasses, quality windscreen Cons: definitely on the louder side (so much that I rarely wear it because my HJC helmet is far quieter) In all other areas it is about average. It fits small. June 16, 2014
Make sure to get a size bigger! Great helmet, extremely light compared to the wife's HJC I rode around with earlier while waiting for the helmet to ship. I was a bit skeptical about getting a size bigger, so I went with a Medium, since I'm a Medium in every other helmet I tried. MISTAKE. Get a size bigger (thanks Revzilla for the painless exchange to a Large). If not, this helmet will give you a hot spot around your forehead, giving you a slight headache after 20 minutes of wear. Other than that, I'm not quite sure the visor seals properly against the helmet, and it certainly makes it loud when at speed. Didn't much care for the visor locking lever, that needs to be locked every time you want to crack the visor to let a little air in. It's not easy to find that little lever with gloves on. Last note if that the plastic feels slightly cheap in some areas, but the helmet will defiantly cradle your noggin should you crave the taste of concrete. Super light helmet, which is nice, great overall style and style of the padding inside! Haven't really needed to use the air pump yet, therefore nothing to say on that, but it seems to function fine. Recommended! May 2, 2014

ahkhan1: Hey, I have owned the exo 400 and two exo 700. Great helmets. My cousin bought the 1100 thinking the higher model represented higher quality...not true. Scorpion is a great company btw. But the 1100 is more of a touring style helmet, meant for the upright position. The 500 is meant more for the 3/4 to full tuck position (aka sportier profile). Hope this helps. And if you're in no rush, I would recommend waiting for the s2000 to release this fall. I made the mistake of dropping $800 on a bell RSD black beauty carbon helmet, thinking it would be a HUGE step up from the scorpion, but didn't find that to be completely true. Good luck and hope this helps. Aug 10, 2012
