Schuberth SR1 Helmet

The Schuberth SR-1 helmet is one of the most technologically advanced helmets available. The Schuberth SR1 is a super-sport helmet which has been developed for optimum performance on the racetrack, and is both ECE and DOT certified. Thanks to its advanced aerodynamics the helmet is at all times stable in the wind and even at high speeds creates no upward lift.

Outer Shell:

  • The outer shell of the SR1 is offered in three shell sizes and combines an aerodynamically optimal shape suitable for racing with excellent protection
  • Shell material: S.T.R.O.N.G. fiber and carbon
  • Special glass fiber reinforced special duroplast matrix with an additional carbon layer to ensure extremely low weight
  • The glass fiber-carbon compound is compressed in a vacuum at a pressure of 4.5 bar to form a helmet shell which is exceptionally sturdy

Inner Shell:

  • Made of specially optimized EPS foam
  • Used exclusively by Schuberth
  • Complex multizone foaming allows optimal shock absorption

Inner Lining:

  • In addition to its excellent fit, the pad system of the SR1 also stands out on account of the complex ventilation and extraction system
  • Double-coated Coolmax suspension, skin-friendly with very good warming properties, transports moisture
  • Variable for effective ventilation
  • Fully removable and washable
  • Ergonomic design for maximum wear comfort
  • Antiallergenic / antibacterial material

Faceshield Mechanism:

  • Extremely quick replacement of the visor shield with Schuberth's push-release system
  • Simple and convenient handling
  • Visor shield is installed and removed without tools
  • Faceshield is Pinlock-ready
  • Pinlock is guaranteed condensation-free thanks to its double glazing technology

Schuberth A.R.O.S.:

The Anti-Roll-Off System (A.R.O.S.) especially developed by Schuberth is provided as a safety feature in every Schuberth motorcycle helmet. It ensures that provided the chinstrap is closed and correctly adjusted:

  • The helmet cannot pivot off the head from behind
  • The risk of contact between the chin section of the helmet and the chin or neck of the rider is minimized due to the small angle of tilt
  • The consequences of the helmet coming into contact with the chest as the result of an accident are reduced
  • Race-proven double-D fastener system enables the chinstrap length to be set easily and precisely

  • Aerodynamic shape
  • Upward lift = 0!
  • Directionally stable
  • No oscillatory tendency
  • No buffeting
  • The D-Force spoiler enables the SR1 to be adjusted to the riding posture in such a manner that ideal behavior of the helmet in the air flow is guaranteed at all times

  • Schuberth motorcycle and racing helmets are developed and optimized under scientific conditions in the Schuberth wind tunnel
  • Installation of a wind deflector enables the aeroacoustics and consequently the noise level to be improved still further
  • Approximately 88dB(A) at 100 km per hour (with closed machines)

  • Visor vent to reduce faceshield fogging
  • 2 head ventilation inlets (adjustable)
  • 2-way chin vent for targeted distribution of the incoming air in the helmet
  • 3-way chin vent
  • Variable pad system
  • Visor vent
  • Head vent
  • Ventilation and cooling of the cheek pads
  • Active air extraction system

DOT and ECE-R 22.05 certified.

Schuberth SR1 Helmet 4.4 5 40 40
Great Expectations, Big Dissapointment I bought this helmet hoping it would be better than my Arai. The Arai is a war horse. The Schuthbert not so much. I do like the integrated sun visor that slides down using a slider on the side. That works really well. However the noise coming into this helmet is horrible. Even with ear plugs it is loud. The helmet also feels cheaply put together. Half of the plastic rivets that hold the bottom portion of the helmet lining came out. Other than that it is an average helmet. I don't recommend. Absolutely Awesome Helmet! I have been using my Schuberth SR1 Tech for just over a year, I purchased from a local dealer, as they were on sale, but wanted to support this product. This helmet is incredible. I ride a 2008 Honda CBR 600rr and a Ducati Monster. The Ducati Monster, has no wind protection. I have never experienced lift and very rarely any head shake (unless I come up behind a semi-truck) from this helmet, even at speeds over 100 MPH on both bikes. Yes, you can actually feel the airflow across the top of your head. The front vent works as they say it was designed to, no air above my nose and no drying of the eyes. The fit, feel, and finish from this helmet is incredible. When you put this on and use it, you will know that your money was not wasted. It is amazing how light weight this helmet is. I am sensitive to certain fabrics against my skin and the fabric used on the cheek pads are sublime and do not have that scratchy feeling of some helmet brands. The adjustable air spoiler actually works and the difference can be felt depending on riding position; with no wind protection I leave it up, but in the full tuck with a wind screen, I will put it down, as I feel less drag. Leaving the spoiler down at lower speeds will increase air flow across the top vents at lower speeds. The visor quality and durability is also amazing and field of vision is decent. The defogging vent works okay, but the pin lock visor works great, as long as your not in the full tuck, as it slightly affects the field of vision. This is a race helmet and is noisy at speed, but you really should be riding with ear plugs in. I have used this helmet on a small track with lower top speeds and having the adjustable openings for better hearing is actually a nice feature; and they also work well around the city. I have wanted to buy a less expensive helmet for commuting, but just can't bring myself to do it after using this. September 5, 2015
Hot Spot on Forehead I fit perfectly in Shoei and other slightly round oval helmets but this one just really burns my forehead with a hot spot (even with +1 sizing). I had hopes (for months) and it never came close to breaking in. Tried using the spoon trick to press on the foam to create a bit more space and even that didn't get it working right. It does flow air nicely, but the vents on top are pretty stubborn to move once they get a little use and grime on the mechanism. Sorry, I really had hopes for this helmet. It is quiet, but not worth the pain at any price. June 12, 2015
it's an awesome helmet from noise and comfort level I tried many helmets and this is from the best I ever tried. May 13, 2015
I love the look of this helmet it is truly cool but.... I purchased this helmet because it looks so cool and it is supposed to be quiet....not quiet at all I have to wear music buds or really good ear plugs...I have hearing loss and this helmet sounds like I am in the wind tunnel...My head is oblong so that could be the problem but I have owned some much cheaper scorpion helmets that very quiet.I do like the look and it weighs next to nothing and the fit is comfortable but the noise is unbearable May 6, 2015

Jackie C: I chose this based on reviews and reputation. The quality and features are impressive. May 24, 2015
Vlad N: For the ergonomics, vision and protection. What I really like about this helmet is that It's easy to put on and hard to take off. In an accident you never want your helmet coming off of you. This is the best helmet I've owned to date and worth the money May 5, 2015
Stephan A H: it fit, and it's a nice place to put your head Apr 14, 2015

Leon C: I used to ride Fulmer, Bell and Shoei. I wanted to try a different helmet so I was shopping for an Arai when a friend told me about Schuberth. I looked into the product and found a local dealer who had one (not the correct size for me) I could see. I was very impressed with the quality. I decided that Schuberth would be my next helmet. Aytac i asked: Hi guys!

I'm wondering how this helmet would fair if I was commuting to and from work everyday and if I wore it for the occasional 2-6 hour long distance ride? I'm just looking for the best helmet I can get in terms of comfort and safety.

Stephan A H: I've owned this helmet for about 6 months and have to say that this is the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned. Good thing too as it sure costs a fair bit of coin.

All kidding aside, I have commuted with this helmet in NYC traffic and ridden all day. It has two locations where I cane feel the helmet pushing or pinching, my forehead and the back of my head. The strange thing is that with this helmet these pressure points NEVER develop into hot points as I've experienced with Shoei or Arai products. If the helmet fits your head the. Go for it.

FWIW. The other Schuberth offerings did not work and the pressure points those helmets created created a burning sensation within 10 minutes that I test wore the helmet.

As for safety I have no first hand experience but comfort and light weight add to less fatigue and this safety.

Leonard L: I would say yes, it's definitely suited for both commuting and distance. This is by far the best helmet I've owned. I also own the C3 which I bought for distance and I would choose the SR1 just for the lighter weight and the tinted outer shield alone. I recently went on a 6 hr distance ride with the SR1 and it preformed awesome. I even switched out the shields on the road side without dismounting the bike or removing the helmet or my gloves. It is pricy, but if you want the best helmet money can buy then this is it. Nov 11, 2013

Elizabeth H: I wear this helmet 2-3 times a week commuting to work and occasionally 200-300 mile days on the weekends and love this helmet. Fit is snug, very quite, very little wind noise. I would buy it again.

Steve P asked: Much has been written about how good the ventilation is. My question is how are the top vents in particular. How close to "wind in the hair" does it get? How do the top vents compare to other Scuberths like the S2 or C3 Pro? Mar 17, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kevin J: This is my first Schuberth. I've had a series of the Corsairs from Arai over the last decade, so I'm not going to be any help making comparisons to the other Schuberths. That said, I won't be going back to the Arai. The SR1 is stunningly light, acoustically very quiet (better than the Corsair) and the ventilation is very good. I don't think any helmet is going to give you "wind in the hair" - "Wind in the hair" ain't gonna protect your grey matter... but, I certainly feel a good draft through my hair when I've got the vents open. Enough, that on cool nights, I shut the vents. Mar 17, 2015

Peter J: Steve I have owned many other lids and this one is by far the best one I have owned. The ventilation is fantastic. You can actually feel the air circulating through the top vents (I shave my head so I can feel it). The chin vent works well too. I ride in Arizona during the winter, so we are always seeking the most ventilation possible.

I cannot give you a comparison with the S2 or C3 because I have never used either one.

Albert S: The ventilation system on the top vent is very good. I can't compare it to other Schubeths, since I have not tried them. But compared to my old Bell full face,it is a big difference. You do feel the air through your hair as you ride. They do however run a bit on the small side. I usually wear a large and that is what I bought. In retrospect, I should have gone with an XL.

Best of luck.

A S asked: What would you recommend for daily commuting (and short trips on weekends): SR1 or C3Pro? C3Pro has a more convenient modular form-factor, sunshield and allows to integrate some bluetooth headsets while SR1 is lighter and safer (4 points in Sharp Test against 3 for C3Pro). Any other considerations? Apr 27, 2014

Peter J: Sorry to take so long getting back to you on this, but I hadn't had a chance to use the helmet because of our late spring here in MN. After putting some miles on this helmet I give it 5 stars. It fits me well, it's light and the optics on the shield are great. I bought the 80% shield as well and use it most of the time.

The C3 Pro is a great helmet and I'll buy one of those for my girlfriend.

It works of for trips of all lengths as long as you don't use the chin piece for noise reduction. The helmet with that piece installed becomes a bit aggravating to get off. The helmet is pricey, but worth the bucks. After all it's only your head!

Jorge G: I own the SR1 and nothing but great reviews overall great helmet. I use it for short trips on my ducati sportclassic and it's a very quiet helmet and great ventilation as well. It's going to be more of a snug fit than C3 pro it just depends if you are looking for a flip up helmet or more of race inspired helmet. Apr 29, 2014

Stephan A H: Try them on. The only Schuberth that fit my head was the SR1. Personally I don't trust flip ups but I would love the convenience they offer and the bells and the blue tooth option. Apr 29, 2014

Colby H asked: So it says this helmet is below 88 db at 100km/h but most people are saying it's loud. Which one is it. I always wear ear plugs so is that the deciding factor? Jul 10, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Daniel W: I remember reading the reviews and asking myself the same question! The noise level is not as bad as the reviews claim to be.

When I wear earplugs with the SR1, it's incredibly quiet... Almost too quiet sometimes. When I take them out, I personally find it to be a sweet spot where there's just enough noise to feel connected to my Ducati.

Just a quick note: when the reviews say "Race Fit", they really mean it! Right out of the box it's too tight, so give it a chance to break in.

I wore my SR1 around the house for 20 mins a day and it was the perfect fit by the end of the week. I have ZERO regrets about purchasing this helmet.

Jackie C: I would say it is, however I no way to specifically determine that. 62 mph isn't that fast on the highway and is quieter than my bell star and arai vector 2, but it still has some noise. Jul 10, 2015

Dirceu M asked: is the "white/black" version matte white or glossy white? Jun 4, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Daniel W: Hey Dirceu,

The white/black SR1 is a glossy white. I thought it was matte as well, but it's glossy. Still looks great!!

I went on a group ride last night and everyone was checking it out and stopping by to give compliments.

Jackie C: I had the same question also before I purchased. On Schubert's website it states glossy white and the box also says glossy white. It is a glossy white and not a matte. I don't think it's as glossy as other brands, but that's my opinion. Jun 4, 2015

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jason B: I ride a Harley and use this helmet. It works well in the upright seated position.
Schuberth has their own bluetooth device for their helmets. It's called the SRC-system, and installs as the neck roll, so you don't have anything hanging off the outside of the helmet.

Miljan B: I know Schuberth it self does have that color scheme but as far as revzilla having it I am not sure. I personally think the best design of this helmet is in the Technology matt black or glossy white, but email revzilla directly to see if they can get their hands on that color scheme. Dec 3, 2013

Waleed N: Aside for the colors here, Schuberth has for the US model of the helmet the Technology Color Scheme at an additional cost, Revzilla also has this helmet available. Unfortunately Schuberth has yet to release any further SR1 colors yet, however more may become available in the future. Dec 3, 2013

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Schuberth SR1 comes with a clear Pinlock ready faceshield, as well as a clear Pinlock insert. The Pinlock insert is included in the box but not installed on the faceshield.

The only other parts included in the box which are not installed are the breath deflector and the chin spoiler neck curtain.

A shopper asked: Is there room to install the SMH10 on the SR1? Sep 8, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (1)
RevZilla: The SR1 is not a helmet that would easily accept the SMH10, or any other Bluetooth for that matter. There are no cut outs in the ears to hold the speakers, and the space between the helmet shell and the EPS is very tight and does not leave much space for any kind of clamp to slide in. With the SMH10, you could still use the adhesive mount for the side of the helmet, but the speakers would likely be touching your ears since there is no recess for them. The other issues with this is that the Noise Reduction System is located behind the ear area, and if you placed a speaker here it would likely cause the N.R.S. to be less effective. The SR1 is a helmet purpose built for racing, and thus it was not designed with Bluetooth systems in mind. Sep 11, 2012
