First of all, full disclosure, I'm a big RSD fan. I love their supple, vintage inspired, sexy as heck jackets. I can't say enough about how awesome this jacket is. Rarely do you find style and protection on these levels combined on the same jacket. I've gotten loads of compliments on this both on and off the road.
I have a short torso and expected the pea coat cut to be too long as most pea coats are for me - this is exceptionally different. The belt hits more on the true waist and the length is perfect, both sitting and standing. The hip gussets make cruising much more comfy too.
Fits true to size with room for the armor but I'm not sure I'll add it. Sleeves are perfect length. The leather is very supple and a bit thinner than my old leather jacket, but due to the double layers in many areas and quilting, I suspect if I ever do hit the asphalt again it will do its job well.
The ONLY modifications I'd make which I may take to a tailor to do is to put a snap back on the double-breasted section and use a two way zipper on the front so you can unzip from the bottom a bit while seated.
If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and buy this just to try it on - I half expected to send it back for another style, it on it was love at first sight. The video, while helpful, simply doesn't do this one justice.

It's a matter or taste...
I bought this and the Maven to see which one I'd like. I love the trench style, the quilting details are nice and the leather felt high quality, it's a beautiful jacket. But for me, spending this much means I need to be able to wear it on and off the bike. There was something about this once I had it on that it just didn't do it for me. I'm petite; 5'1", 34B and athletic build. The Medium fit me perfectly, sleeves slightly long. I don't know if it's because I'm short and this silhouette would look better on a taller woman? It just seemed like too much coat. I wanted to love it but it was just ho-hum on. The Maven was the hands-down winner. I asked a few friends for their vote and it was the Maven unanimously...So I sent this one back. It's a great jacket, I just think it looked better in the pics than it did on me. But if you like the look, give it a try!

Alessandra S:There is no chest protection in this jacket. The lumps that you are referring to may just be an issue with the image. To get a better idea of jacket fit, it's best to watch the video.Mar 10, 2015
