REV'IT! Nitric H2O Rain Jacket

The NITRIC H2O Rain jacket has been purposefully designed as a classic overcoat. It can be worn over any leather or textile jacket, offering great functional features with a level of quality not often found in basic 'day saving' rainwear. The jacket is constructed of PVC-free PWR|Oxford offering 100% waterproofing as well as breathability. Draw straps at the cuffs, collar, hips, and waist ensure perfect closure against wind and water. For visibility, reflection panels have been laminated onto the fabric at strategic positions on the upper arms. Plus, there’s plenty of storage in this jacket, both inside and outside: this includes a waterproof document pocket behind the front closure, and easy storage for the hoodie in the collar pocket. Available in classic black and high-visibility neon yellow. Comes with a handy transport bag.

Good protection, lightweight to wear and good fit for women
I initially thought I didn't need something with a hood but the rolled up hood is great for blocking rain running down my jacket collar. Will be useful for wearing when you get off the bike too.

The high-viz portion is not that big but very bright and visible, I have a top box so I reckon only my top half is seen anyway.

Got an XS for my US size 2 and it fits very well, sleeves are not too long and the velcro adjustments on wrist, elbow and waist are very good for fitting a female shape better. The long jacket style is good for protecting against rain running down the back of my jeans (although if I made the effort to wear my rain bibs, probably won't be an issue.

The jacket is very lightweight and easy to wear, I can't even feel that I have it on. It has nice features like large button-down flap pockets, wide storm flap + snap buttons over the zipper, sewn-down toggles to adjust reflective elastics for one-handed operation. It is a high quality product that packs into its own neat stuff sack.

Have not tested how breathable it is yet because the day was cool. The mesh liner is definitely non-stick so I think the breeze should flow through ok.

Good value for money, I am very glad I chose this rain jacket.

Kept me dry.
Fit is good, ordered a large to fit over my large Klim jacket.
Extremely waterproof; kept me completely dry through almost a full day of very heavy rain with some hail mixed in.
Doesn't flop around like a sail compared to other rain jackets.
Still wish there was more adjustment/tightening straps; would be nice to cinch down the arms and mid section more.

Impressive jacket
I'm relatively new to riding a motorcycle, but am committed and decided that I would ride every day no matter the conditions. The other day I got rained on pretty hard and decided it was a good idea to invest in some rain gear. I purchased this jacket and was pretty impressed. The fit is good and no water got in anywhere, other than at the zippers, but I was lazy and didn't button the jacket all the way. If I would have done that there would have been no water getting in. I'm very happy with the product, and the video review really helped me with my decision.

As good as I had hoped it would be.
Having heard about this soon-to-be-available jacket back at this July's BMW rally in PA, I've eagerly been awaiting it's arrival. The recommended sizing -- XL for a 180-lb guy of 5'10" -- works perfectly over my riding gear, and will be an easy on-off when the weather changes. The collar and cuff closures seem to work well. I like the jacket's light weight and packability (nice pack included), and the feel of the new hi-tech material. Only disappointment is that the hi-viz yellow-green portion isn't larger, but it certainly is a BRIGHT hi-viz, which pleases me. Haven't had a chance to test it in a downpour, but my initial impression has me saying, "Bring it on!"

fantastic style. Fits true to size.
What a nice jacket! I got the high viz version and it looks super sharp. No cheap, flimsy material here. Plus, it doesn't look like something out of star trek. It fits 100% true to size, so you won't look like a parade day float in the wind when you're flying down the highway.

I wouldn't suggest the black. There's no point in it. Nobody is going to miss you if you got the high viz on, though.

Rain doesn't bother me anymore
I got this as a gift and I was able to use it 3 times in the past month or so. I wear medium regular jackets and the medium rain jacket fits perfect over my regular gear. Keeps me dry, no leaks, the hood is nice and thin and can either roll up in the collar or extend and go inside the helmet so my neck doesn't get wet.

Pockets are a nice size and the whole thing rolls up nicely into its carry pouch. The velcro straps on the sides work good too.

The sleeves are maybe 1" too short on me but with gauntlet gloves it's not really an issue.

10/10, would recommend.

Excellent Raingear
Function:

I have used this several times in heavy rain, and it works great. As dry as one can be on a motorcycle in the rain.

Worth noting that the material around the collar is super comfortable.

Protection is obviously a non-issue here as that is not what this jacket is designed for, along with airflow - which is basically non existent since it is designed to keep water out, not let air in.

Form:

This jacket has a lot of adjust-ability, which I wish was more prevalent on actual jackets - namely the waist adjusters which allows it to be more form fitting.

Size is exactly as stated - if you wear a large riding jacket, buy a large and it fits right over.

Only thing that I foresee as a possible issue is the Velcro for the cuffs which seem like they have the potential to wear down much sooner than the rest of the jacket.

Otherwise if you are looking for rain-gear, buy this.

Nice
Very nice rain jacket. I have the hi-viz in XL. Nice quality but I have come to expect that from Rev'it. Rode the bike in a drizzle to Fenway and wore it right in since the rain was on and off the whole game. Sox lost, but I was dry.

If you want to stay dry, buy it.
It fits over a jacket well and can be worn alone on a hot day. Great rain proof. I suggest the hi-viz version which is yellow at chest/shoulder to the top of the neck.

It even looks okay.
Buy it.

I have an old version of the Cyclone rain shell, but the white coating is coming off on whatever is worn underneath. Since this has an interior mesh, I thought I'd give this a try to see if it would not mar my existing jackets.

I needed a new rain suit to replace the "sauna suit" I used to have. The Nitric is light, well-designed, well-made and flawlessly serves it's intended purpose. I've worn it for long rides in heavy rain and stayed bone dry (worn with the Rev'It Acid H2O pants). I remain a big fan of Rev'It products!

I have a RevIt vented jacket, size M, should I buy the Nitric in the same size to fit over the jacket, or do I need a size larger?

Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: I wear a 2x in the Olympia X-Moto Jacket, and I had to go to a 3X in the H2O. The 2X was way too tight. I could get it on, but was afraid I'd never get it off without help. My wife and I both had to go up one size to get the proper fit. I've used the H2O for a trip to Alaska in 2012, to Canada in 2013, and back to Alaska this year. I've never gotten wet. It works great.

Sense there aren't any 100% waterproof backpacks, is there enough room to wear the OGIO No Drag Mach 5 Backpack and have the jacket overtop it?
Camron S on Oct 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure about the back pack, however as a starting point both my wife and I wore this jacket on our Alaska trip and we both needed to go up 1 size from our riding jacket to get a proper fit. I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for, but perhaps it's a starting point.
What class of EN343 is this jacket certified to? Thanks
