REV'IT! Legacy GTX Gore-Tex Pants

Similar to the Legacy GTX Jacket in construction, materials, and membrane technology, the Legacy GTX trousers set the standard for all serious motorcycle enthusiasts. With a removable thermal liner, the Legacy GTX trousers are great to wear in spring and summer as well thanks to the air vent zippers at the upper leg that provide maximum cooling effect via evaporative cooling. With either the short or long connection zipper, the Legacy GTX trousers can be easily connected to any REVIT! jacket. These pants form a recommended combination with the LEGACY GTX Jacket.

Great utility riding pant I live in the California desert and I needed a good three season pant. The Revit' fits the bill. It's comfortable and provides good protection. My only complaint is the waist cinch is a little under-engineered but that is really a minor point. January 20, 2014
Comfortable, stylish, waterproof pants I bought these together with the matching jacket as part of a great close out deal. They are very stylish, the fit is European which works for me as a European but even I bought a large for my 32 inch waist but they will fit over a pair of jeans with the liners removed. They are too warm for temperatures above 70F but are great for spring, winter and fall riding. I was caught in a torrential rainstorm the first time I wore them and although I was dry they felt somehow clammy but I put this down to not having the liner installed. All in all they will be the go to pants for me on any kind of cool or damp day. Great service from Revzilla and an awesome price for clothing of this quality. October 16, 2013
Nice GTX pant with some nice details. . . . These pants fit perfectly and for this, I'm happy. I would say that the waist cinchers are lame because I accidentally pulled the pants on by the web belt tightener and it broke the proprietary plastic attachment. If I actually needed them, I would have a problem. . . Just be careful with them. These are NOT overpants. They are comfortable and we just had three days of a Nor'easter dump a ton of rain and I road each day in it. Stayed dry. . . Stitching is nice, definitely a better garment. October 14, 2013
All riding gear should be Gortex! I have had other expensive riding gear and have never really understood having the inside most liner be the water proofing. By Having the Gortex in the outer shell of your riding gear, you don't have to pull over and install your internal water proof liners while touring.. Extremely comfortable and light pants. Cons: Not enough air flow for riding temperatures near or above 80 degrees for touring and 70 degrees for around town riding. September 30, 2013
Warm I wear these as an over pant. I went up one size. They were a little tight with jeans on so sent them back. I'm 5' 10" 185 lbs I wear a 35/36 waist and 32 " inseam. If I wore them like they are designed the X-LG was perfect. As an over pant the XX-L is the best fit. The one thing I don't like about them as an over pant is the leg zipper only goes up a little way. My old pants the zipper goes all the way up. If I could do it again I would look else where only because of that. I know I'll be staying warm so I'm happy about that. November 26, 2012
You get what you pay for with Motorcycle gear. The first pair I ordered by the chart were to small and I had to return them. Thanks to Revzilla's return policy, no trouble there, just had to wait. The second try fit perfectly. I can get a pair of jeans on underneath these but for comfort sake I just like to wear these while riding and take a pair of jeans in my backpack. I do wish I had a couple more inches in length on the inseam because they ride up to above the ankle when I get into the saddle. So that's twice I've warned you potential buyers to go for a size or two larger when ordering. They feel like a cozy sleeping bag when the thermal liner is installed. When it isn't installed the knee armor seesaws on my kneecaps and after a few hours my knees are tender and soar. Not so much of an issue when the liner is in. Other than that the pants look and feel like they were assembled out of quality products with extreme care and attention to detail. Middle TN isn't the great white north but it can get brutally cold here. My goal is to keep riding as long as there's traction. These pants along with the GTX jacket should help me achieve that with relative comfort and protection. November 26, 2012
Comfortable fit, armored protection, and un-assailable quality. An excellent pant for long tours. I have put a lot of miles on these Rev'It GTX Legacy pants. The more ride in them, the better I like them. At first they seem like an odd fit. The longs are really long. I am 6'2" and have a 34" inseam, so I ordered the "long" size. They seemed almost too long. The knee pads droop down lower than my knees when standing, even when adjusted to the highest velcro positioned. These are not pants to wear for social occasions. But sit ON YOUR BIKE, and you'll get it. They are cut to fit perfectly when riding: the right length over your boot, the right position for the knee protectors, the right length and comfort up your back. Of all the motorcycle pants I've owned, these are far and away the best fit and greatest protection ever. This summer, I wore them on a 5,000+ mile trip from Colorado to Canada and back via six western states and two provinces. 900 miles was in the rain, at times pouring down at 42 F degrees. The pants worked perfectly. On extended rainy days, I did wear an additional rain pant, but only to ward off the mud and road slop. I found them to be sufficiently warm without the insert down to 50 degrees. Below that, the thermal inserts worked nicely to 35 F. They are comfortable on warm days up to 80, after which they become stuffy but still tolerable up to around 90 with the vents open. Yet for the bullet-proof feel of the fabric, amount of armor and GoreTex, they balance high-low temperatures just fine. Yes, they are pricey. But on those long 600+ mile days or 8 hours of pouring rain, they are worth every cent. September 16, 2011

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Christopher M: Seemed like good quality winter pants. Massive discount helped as well. Nov 11, 2013
Richard F: Goretex, winter pant that was on sale Oct 17, 2013
A shopper asked: This pant is sold in S/M/L/XL/2XL/ etc., but the RevIt size chart is listed in 48/50/52/54/etc. - how do these correlate? Specifically I'm interested in the tall sizes, I have a 32" waist and 34" inseam. Sep 23, 2012

harleymom: I have a 32 inch waist and a 31 inch inseam and I ordered size 42 and find that it has plenty of length for myself. I think you would be safe with the longer length as the pants I received go down to the bottom of my boots when I am standing up and according to the chart it has a 29 inch inseam. I don't think they would look like floods on you. Sep 24, 2012

McScruff: I asked Revzilla the same question and they refered me to the Rev'it unisex size chart. http://www.revzilla.com/revit-size-chart Nov 26, 2012

tfly: I am a 34 inseam and "tall" fit the bill. I am 36-38 waist and had to return the XL for 2XL Nov 5, 2012

A shopper asked: So, can I remove the thermal layer, and still have armor, or does that come out with thermal? Ideally I would like to have outer waterproof shell and armor during summer months, and everything in colder times. Any other pant that does this if not? Feb 2, 2012

harleymom: I bought these pants in the women's style and the thermal layer easily zips out. The armour can be easily removed just by sliding it out. There are pockets in the hips and knees where the pads are kept that close with velcro. I am not sure of other pants that do this. There are tabs at the waist to adjust as the pants will fit looser if you zip out the thermal layer - looser but not baggy. Sep 24, 2012

RevZilla: Yes, you can remove the thermal layer and retain the armour. The thermal layer zips in/out readily, but does not affect the placement of the armour. Mar 20, 2012

McScruff: Yes the thermal layer zips out and the armor stays mounted to the inside of the outer layer. Nov 26, 2012

A shopper asked: The Sand pants seem to be roomier and more adjustable, but I would really prefer a Gore-Tex pant, such as the Legacy GTX. There is nothing sillier than standing by the side of the road with your pants around your ankles trying to get a rain liner inserted before the deluge. Apr 25, 2011

Chris K: You have an excellent point! If you are the type of rider who can or will get caught in the rain, it can be more convenient to have an waterproof system that stays with you at all times. REV'IT! is a great brand and their products hold up quite well. I would definitely recommend them as a good pant for long distance touring. Apr 26, 2011
