I've been wearing the X-Moto Jacket & pants for about a year. I picked this Olympia over others for the size of the zippered mesh vents , genuine Codura construction, and full leg zippers.
This suit is ok , but has some drawbacks.
The Velcro straps at the sleeve cuff has rubber Olympia tags on the ends. They are annoying because you have to fold them over and tuck them in when putting on gauntlet gloves. And if your gloves don't have large gauntlets, you can feel the tags create a pressure point at the wrist. to make it worse, they added a zippered map pocket, with its seams, way down the arm so that competes for space at the wrist as well. Short gloves inside the sleeve work much better.
If you want to leave the neck collar open, It hooks inside the jacket instead of out, and exposes your neck to the codura and you guessed it , another rubber pull tag. Also the collar is pretty small. I don't have a large neck but it's quite a tight fit with both liners & a electric vest.
The jacket & pants are very heavy, having a negative effect at keeping you cool in hot weather, and less comfortable to wear.
Having two liners sounds good on paper, but poor execution makes them very fiddly to get everything oriented straight at the cuffs, requiring attention where other riding gear does not. I'd rather see it come with one insulated liner and a matching outer rain layer to keep the codura from soaking.

I've worn the X-Moto pant now in rain, heat, and cold, at highway speeds, and sitting at traffic lights. The last thousand plus miles leave me with this review: the pant is well on its way to being great but needs a few design improvements to get there.
If you are familiar with Olympia pants and liners, you may have experience with Velcro snagging the inner mesh fabric at your ankles. The X-Moto resolves this at the boots with a slick fabric change from ankle to shin. However, there is no such change at the crotch, and this Velcro will still snag, eventually show signs of wear and tear, and you will need to clean the prickly side regularly to keep it holding tight.
The full length leg zipper on each pant leg makes climbing into both pant and liner with boots very easy. The liner attaches at two points by each ankle and at three points around the waist. It is the waterproof part of this pant -- so keep it handy even while riding in warm weather or you'll be wet when it rains.
Pockets are the biggest loss for the X-Moto pant compared to other Olympia pants. The butt pockets button, and one each hand pocket zips. That's it. The zipping hand pockets are decent sized but have interiors made of an unsecured mesh. You won't access anything in these pockets with gloves on your hands.
The lengthy air vents on each upper thigh might work as pockets, but they unzip the full length of the thigh and then tuck in front of the knee clear to the ankle before finding a bottom. Anything put in these potential pockets will end up at your feet.
My biggest complaint with the X-Moto pant relates to the knee pads. When on my knees cooking meals at camp, messing with gear in the tent, or working alongside the motorbike, the knee pads rotate inward and expose my kneecaps to the ground. They're protected by the heavy fabric, but other Olympia pants' knee pads stayed in place with such uses.
Even more devastating is that this rotation also occurs while riding! And I feel like one of the most important protection areas of the pant is lacking. I'm constantly fixing the pad to stay centered on my kneecap after it crawls back toward the inside of my legs. If you need knee pads to protect you from your bike instead of the road -- this pant is your holy grail.
I'm working with the inner placement of the pads to see if an adjustment will fix the problem. I may just have to ride knock-kneed.

I researched these pants for months as I don't like returning items I've purchased. They had everything I was looking for like great reviews/looks, venting, light color, clever design and lots of protection. The problem is they don't fit me for some reason, I went size larger and they felt small on my waist. The pant legs were way too big and the knee pads would not stay in place because of all the extra fabric. I have no issues finding clothes to fit me otherwise.
I ended up not being comfortable so I unfortunately had to return them, now my search continues.

Got them in time for a trip through the Black Hills and they worked perfectly. It was a little bit on the cold side so can't say much on the ventilation part. Did a combination of paved and unpaved and they seem to work great for both. The fit was right on for me. Worth the money.

I picked these up for riding when the weather turns cooler. They are very good at blocking the wind and with the hip and knee pads seem to provide a good bit of protection. I haven't tried them with the vents open.
As far a sizes go, they are on the snug side if you are going to wear pants underneath. With the liner in I will be sucking it in to make them fit. Now to be fair, they are still getting broke in and I think they will loosen up once I use them for a while. But I think I should have gone a size bigger then my jeans size in hind sight.
The price seems a little steep, but I justified it as an investment that will last many years. The quaility seems good and I have no reason to believe that I won't get many years of use out of them.

Used these pants in in multiple temperatures from the 50's up to the 90's. It was easy to open the vents and keep riding. Never used them in the rain and never had the liner in. They matched great with the x-moto jacket as well. I wear a size 34" and ordered both the 34 & 36 to try them out. I ended up choosing the 34 as the 36 seemed like it was too baggie for me and I didn't intend on wearing jeans under them as it didn't seem very comfortable that way. I'm 5'11" 160lbs.

I just returned from a four day Tail of the Dragon and Gravel Dragon trip. It was 97 degrees with high humidity. These pants worked fantastic and kept very cool. Off-road they gave plenty of protection too. The X-Moto Jacket worked equally as well. I highly recommend these products to any sport touring rider or off roader! Great job to all at Olympia!

Bought this pant along with the GT Transition Jacket for an upcoming 7 day ride through the Alps. Although not road tested yet, I bought them for the variable weather conditions we expect to encounter on any given day. My research led me to this pant based on versatility, safety features, and overall design. The on-line videos were very helpful in making the decision.
I wear a 38-40 waist pant with 32" inseam, depending on the cut. I went with the 40" waist in these pants and they fit just a bit large on me, so the sizing chart appears to be true to size. I am having mine hemmed by a seamstress ($50 here in NS) to fit my bent-leg riding position. The hemming is complicated to make it operate and look good. I recommend an experienced seamstress.
I will post another review in September on return from what should be a good all-weather test.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Answer:
Thanks for sharing that link. I have seen that suit, and it's close, but the combination of features that really attract me to the X-Moto pants is:

1) large mesh panels (think off road in 100+ degree weather). I also like the idea of the leather on the inside, but it's not a deal maker/breaker.
2) the mesh can be closed off from the outside (I'm probably, errr, unique, but I've never found using a liner works as well as simply closing the mesh from the outside, so for me, other mesh items simply won't work. I would likely have the mesh closed most of the time, (except for situation number 1, so I like the option of the better abrasion protection when having them closed, too.)
3) Full length leg zip - quick and easy commuting pant!

That being said, I do like the Rev'it gear, because it's smaller, and I do like the option of full-c zipper.
The Rev'it jacket looks nice - mesh that you can cover up from the outside! Yay!, (not to mention what seems like better abrasion protection overall). If I was in the market, I'd definitely be looking at that...

And, solely for purposes of discussion: I don't really understand the concept of having the waterproof liner on the inside of gear. In rain, you might be dry, but your jacket is heavy, cold, clammy and going to take a while to dry, depending. Plus who wants to stand in the rain, take off the jacket, insert the liner... blah blah? I'll take my outer rain suit any day.

Just putting my thoughts out there. Can't be heard if you don't speak! And yes, I'll admit I'm picky. Hard to part with good money on something that doesn't quite suit your needs.
Thanks for doing what you do - I think your videos are a great tool!

Jacket Size Guidelines
We suggest you use these size charts as a general guide. Variables in weight distribution and height may alter the appropriate size range indicated. As a general rule Olympia Jackets are designed in America, with an "American" body in mind. As such, you will find that Olympia tend to fit more generously then European brands (such as REV'IT, Dainese, Alpinestars and Spidi). If you are in between sizes, we recommend to you to err on the smaller side.

Pant Sizing Guidelines
Olympia pants fit true to size. If you intend on using them as overpants, please go one size up.

Inseam Lengths
Olympia pants are cut with generous inseams to accommodate various riding positions. Olympia EZ hem bottoms (can be hemmed up to six inches) and adjustable knee armor help riders achieve a custom fit

Mens Pants

Men's Waist Size Inseam(in)
30 32"
32 33"
34 34"
36 35"
38 35"
40 35"
42 35"
44 35"

Olympia pants tend to run true to your jean size. Olympia Pants and 1 Piece Suits do not come in "Short" sizes, however the knee armor is adjustable and the bottoms are made to be easy to hem.

Sizing information is provided by the manufacturer and does not guarantee a perfect fit.
