Like the men’s All Seasons Touring jacket this style has been designed to function year round in all weather conditions. Wet and stormy rides are no match for the Olympia Ladies AST 2’s coated Cordura®shell and waterproof/breathable seam sealed membrane. For added weather protection, this jacket also includes five exterior waterproof pockets. For warm weather rides the AST offers our exclusive AVS shoulder to forearm and torso venting system. This system offers special water-tight zippers that when open, create major air flow directly to a riders body. For maximum comfort during cold weather rides this jacket is also equipped with a stylish Thermolite® insulated liner jacket.
Outer shell constructed in coated 500 and 2000 denier Cordura® fabric
Expected better quality for the $$
The stitching on this jacket is shotty. Nothing compared to my tourmaster. Not designed as womens fit. Seems like a man jacket they are just calling womens. Its ok but if I had my choice now I would get something different. Stitching seems like it wasn't done well and little strings of thread hang/are frayed on various parts of the jacket even before first wear. I would have returned it for a different jacket had I not removed the tags and wore it.Not sure it will last if that is the case.

didn't work for me
if your a euro fit kind of gal this jacket is not for you. its a great jacket but doesn't fit my body type very well. I opted for dainese & revit for thin shoulders and waist.

Great HiViz option with American Fit
I am competing on the road against cellphone-texting-makeup-coffee drivers and the like, so I was looking for a hiviz jacket to wear on my scooter for some time now. I commute in the city, surface streets only. I need to be seen.
I usually order men's jackets because women's clothing never goes large enough to fit me. The Euro sizing never fits right, and the men's lack hip room, but come large enough that I can usually make it work - after a trip to the seamstress.
The Olympia Women's AST 2 Jacket is the first women specific clothing item I have purchased in a long time. I read the comments on the site on recommended products & I watched the videos on this site, on sizing and winter riding gear. He said the Olympia brand is sized for bigger Americans. Well - that got my attention.
I am short and stocky, 47" hips, 40" waist, 38 1/2" armpit-chest, 45" bust, 18" shoulder,16" neck, 61 1/2" fingertip-fingertip, add 27" spine-elbow-wrist. I give you my measurements so you can compare to your measurements and the size I ordered - a women's XXL - which I would not have done based on my past experience, but did so based on my measurements and their measurement chart. I am highly recommending you get the cloth measuring tape and give yourself a good set of measurements and use your chart. The hips are tight, but fit, and the upper body is very loose in the parts that need to be loose for comfort, but there are tons of adjustments.
I ride a scooter, so there will be no electric warming clothing for me - it's all layers. This jacket will keep my upper body warm. I love the pockets, styling, and hi viz. I will wear this all winger long. I'll check back after a few rides at night, rain, and as it gets even colder to let you know on the performance.

Tina W: price, style, textile, waterproof & reviews. I like your video explaining all the features as well. Would have preferred the blue in men's but yellow is probably the smarter choice since I leave in the dark. You price was also the better price on the internet along with the return policy feature. I took my measurements but still have my doubts on the size. Thank you for very much.Dec 15, 2013
Greg J: Only jacket we could find that MIGHT fit my girlfriend because of her shape. Pity you have discontinued themDec 13, 2013
Stephany M: I wanted a warm winter jacket that I can fit my heated liner underneath for winter riding. I'm hoping this one will fit....Oct 15, 2013
carol c: I am so satisfied with Olympic mesh jacket with rain liner that, when shopping for cold weather jacket, this was obvious choice.Sep 5, 2013
Michael M: A lot of features for the price.Aug 25, 2013
A shopper asked:I have the women's Kilimanjaro jacket now, it's really heavy.Mar 17, 2012
Heather:I have the AST2 and this jacket is substantially lighter. I have a review to post in the next 2 days. it's got good air flow & is mesh in a lot of the jacket, but the impact zones. So that impact zones add the weight. It weighs the same as two heavy hoodies.Apr 9, 2012
Heather:I am short and stocky and NEVER order women's sizes in anything. I made an exception here with this Women's cut. I did not try on the men's cut. I got a measuring tape and did all the measurements suggested. I spoke with the Olympia folks via email as well. I too was very concerned it was just masked/fake women's sizing but really the same cut as mens. I can tell you that this jacket fits me like a glove, except for the elbow straps, They are a little loose if I take the liner out. There are hip gussets that allowed me to get the jacket zipped easily up the front, but around my "female sized hips" :-). That is always my problem with the men's cuts. My waist is smaller than my hips, and my chest is larger than waist & hips - so I really felt like I needed a women's cut to allow for those areas. Also, there is a waist strap/belt that goes all the way around, and allows me to cinch the jacket and help keep the back from riding up and hitting my helmet. NOW, if you take the liner out and open all the vents (intake and outflow) then you will have a lot of extra room. I included some pictures too, of the reflection. If you value visibility, warmth, and sizing for heavier folks, this is a great jacket. If Euro sizing fits you, stick with those brands because this is not Euro sized.Dec 9, 2011
AliB:This is a women's specific jacket that was constructed using a separate set of patterns and size grading to accommodate a woman's shape. Olympia fit is generous and the overall fit of this jacket is slightly roomy.Dec 5, 2011
Chris K:These are the bullet points that Olympia provided to us for the differences between the AST and AST 2
‚ÅÉ Longer chest vents for airflow ‚ÅÉ flap is easier to open and fold up ‚ÅÉ Micro reflective paneling at upper chest ‚ÅÉ Color blocking on front of jacket is improved for style ‚ÅÉ Thermoweld Reflective detailing on arms ‚ÅÉ Full circumference of collar is neoprene lined ‚ÅÉ Liner jacket is now pewter rather than black for style ‚ÅÉ Additional velcro panel for thick neck, velcro folds back on neck; velcro is longer for slim neck.
Heather:The AST is an older model, so size and color selection are less. I have the AST in Hi-Viz yellow and love the black accents don't make it look like a construction worker jacket, but I'm still visible. Also the AST2 has reflective spots incorporated into the design - so it's less construction vest like. On the AST2, there are many features that make it easy to wear, get to pockets, vents, and cinch around your waist to slow up-drafts but let out a little if wearing more underclothes. I recommend it highly.Feb 13, 2012
RevZilla:The zipper length between Joe Rocket and Olympia is the same, but the teeth are slightly different. Both jackets and pants come with complete separating zippers, so you can replace the zipper the pants or jacket zipper easily.Oct 5, 2012
Jacket Size Guidelines
We suggest you use these size charts as a general guide. Variables in weight distribution and height may alter the appropriate size range indicated. As a general rule Olympia Jackets are designed in America, with an "American" body in mind. As such, you will find that Olympia tend to fit more generously then European brands (such as REV'IT!, Dainese, Alpinestars and Spidi). If you are in between sizes, we recommend to you to err on the smaller side.
Pant Sizing Guidelines
Olympia pants fit true to size. If you intend on using them as over pants, please go one size up.
Olympia pants are cut with generous inseams to accommodate various riding positions. Olympia EZ hem bottoms (can be hemmed up to six inches) and adjustable knee armor help riders achieve a custom fit
