Best riding pants I've ever owned!
Got these about 2 months ago for a trip up to Deals Gap from Florida this past labor day weekend. I wore these the entire ride up there (10 hours of riding) plus the three days of 7-8 hrs of riding through Tennessee and North Carolina and then the 10 hour ride home yesterday, and these pants were absolutely worth every penny.

I wore them with a pair of thin cargo shorts or athletic shorts underneath, and while riding in the 90 degree Florida heat and then the high 80 to low 90 Tennessee heat during the day, these pants kept me cool with the leg flaps open. Whenever we stopped for lunch, I quickly unzipped the full length leg zippers and took these off to walk around in my shorts. Everyone else I rode with were sweating their arses off in their jeans but I was comfortable.

In the mornings with the weather in the upper 50's and low 60's, these pants were perfect with the leg vents closed. And in the rain, I was able to quickly slide the rain liner over these and get back on the bike in little time. The rain liner never made me feel too hot, and kept me bone dry!

My wife orginally ordered these in my actual waist size (32) but when I got them they were pretty snug, so we returned them for the next size up. Now I have to wear them with a belt, but they are far more comfortable than they would have been in my actual size, plus I can wear these as overpants over shorts which I would not have been able to comfortably do in my actual size.

As for some of the other reviewers saying that the knee pads were uncomfortable, I never had that issue. The pads are adjustable to sit higher or lower on your knee, and I had mine in the higher position. I never noticed any discomfort with these pants on.

I also wore these with my older Olympia Airglide jacket and they matched almost perfectly!

Bottom line: If your thinking about getting riding pants.. get these. And get them one size up if you intend to wear them as overpants.

Surprisingly comfortable, well balanced pants.
I purchased these pants to mate with the Expedition jacket.

I find the fit to be dead on with the sizing chart, and comfortably wear these pants over boxers and a pair of shorts while riding.

Air flow is decent. As there is only one vent panel per leg, I find that ventilation is limited to radiating off of my legs through the vents while seated, with some air flow noted while standing.

The medial leg leather panels do a decent job of reducing transmitted heat from the engine case of my bike to my legs, keeping me comfortable even in stop and go traffic around town.

The lateral leg zippers are quite handy, allowing me to easily step into, and out of, my pants while keeping footwear on.

The seat pockets get a little tight when in the seated position. I find myself uncomfortable trying to keep my wallet in either seat pocket. The side pockets seem a bit flimsy in regards to the mesh interior, and I fear that my keys might eventually damage them.

The rear 8" zipper mates perfectly with the Expedition jacket.

The rain gear works very well. I keep the rain layer stowed on the bike, and don it over my pants as needed.

I find that these pants perform as advertised. They are solidly built, use quality zips, and show almost no signs of wear after 3 months of regular use.

Rain liner does not have heat shields and melts
I bought these pants and like them, however I thought the liner was the Horizon rain pants as they look just like them. However the very first time I wore them on my Harley Ultra Limited the right leg melted. After getting home from my vacation I looked at a pair of the Horizon rain pants I also have, and saw that the Horizon's have heat shields, and these don't. For $350 I think they could have used the actual Horizon rain pants, or put heat shields on the liner, so it isn't a disposable rain liner. If you're going to buy these pants I would also buy the Horizon rain pants and use them instead of the supplied liner.

Great Pant if you are not looking for Max Airflow.
Rider 6'4" / Weight 220
Bike BMW GS1200 Adventure.

I was looking for a 3/4 Season pant that offered rain protection as well as rider protection. As with anything designed to multi task, you usually get OK performance across the board and nothing where it excels. That was the case with this pant.

The pant fits great. Is comfortable to wear all day and the rain protection is perfect...at temps up to 80* Fahrenheit. I haven't had an opportunity to try it in the winter with a heated liner, but I plan to.

One drawback I see with this pant as well as all others with vents, is that the vents are on top of the thigh and it does not do anything for moving air as no air washes up over the top of our thighs when riding. Wearing this pant in temps under 80* was fine and by its design, should be perfect for Winter rides too since there isn't any air flow through the pant even with the vents fully open.

When I'm riding standing up on the pegs (off road) the airflow is great, just not so when sitting down.

I would buy this pant again, but I might also be looking for a full Summer Pant in the future.

Pretty bombproof pants if you ask me. Material seems super tough and the leather inner is a cool addition. The armor is good and the adjustable knees actually work! The only weak point in these pants is the hip armor which I replaced with Bohn armor. The ventilation if freaking awesome! Can't say anything about durability because I've only had them a month, but they feel like they'll last a while.

High quality, worth the premium!
I wanted a new pair of mesh summer pants and ended up with 3+ season pants - the vents in these work great for hot weather, combined with the leather inner leg "chaps" that keep the bike heat off of me, I was reasonably cool in 100+ degree riding conditions. Combine with how warm they are sealed up, plus they come with rain pants that can be worn inside or outside as a windbreaker, these would work great down to 30 degrees as well. Longer cut to wear with touring boots, armor is well placed, etc. No complaints, worth the price as they will last me for years!

Excellent over-pant that can be used 4 seasons. On/Off in 1 minute.
Used in 30-75 degree weather at the Tail of the Dragon in October. Stayed warm and the long side zipper made on/off in less than a minute. The pants run long and recommend 1 size larger if used as an overspent otherwise buy your pant size. The waterproof liner which can be worn outside is a nice add-on and used once. For the purpose it served it worked well and folds small. Con: forget about hemming as claimed. Cost too much.

Great product, very versatile!
I bought these pants to use on a ride from Phoenix to Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. We left Phoenix in 100 degree heat and found ourselves standing in snow a day later in Telluride. The pants performed well in a variety of environments. They were pretty warm in the triple digit heat but everything is.

I am 6'03", 225, and wear a 36x36. I generally have a hard time finding pants that are long enough but these pants fit was perfectly, plenty of length. What a nice change!

I was little disappointed with the quality of the armor that came with the pants and plan to upgrade the armor down the road. All and all I think this is a great product and would definitely recommend them.

Good riding pants!
Pros
Nice look and durability. Warm with the rain liner inside and the vents closed and if it's hot outside, you just open the vents and its like wearing shorts.

Cons
The armor is a joke! I replace the armor with Forcfield for the knees and i'm gonna change the hip pads too.

Nice pants anyway.

The pants come with rain pants she'll you can wear inside or outside. You can zip open the thighs for airflow. Zip up the legs to take off easily over my boots. They are slightly long but still work great. They fit over my jeans with no problem. The high vis stripe matches my high vis jacket. The knee pads are adjustable. I highly recommend the pants.

Mega panel vents. does the Olympia Dakar dual sport jacket fit the MotoQuest pants?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2016
I tend to wear the pants higher up just under the navel. What waist diameter in inches will the size 44 correspond to?
Gurushankar S on Jan 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I found that they run a little large, since they are an overpant. They do have belt loops, so a little large is a good thing. I'd recommend just measuring where you intend to wear the pants, and then get that size.
Are these pants roomy enough to fit over full length off road boots? I have Fox Comp 5 boots that go almost to my knees. The pant looks like it might be pretty tight with these? I am hoping with the full length zipper that there is enough space to be able to put these pants on without removing my Comp 5s.

Thanks for the help!
Mark F on Sep 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hey Mark. I'm not familiar with the Fox Comp 5 boots, so I do not know what the circumference is of the upper portion of your boots at their "widest" part. However, we can probably figure this out. I unzipped the pant legs and laid out the pant leg flat on a surface. I then measured the width just below the knee from zipper tooth to zipper tooth. I came up with 23 inches. I did the same at the ankle and came up with 21 inches. Now, if you would take a tape measure and wrap it around your boot, you could determine if the pants will fit over your boots. Keep in mind that there is armor in the knees which is adjustable up and down. Additionally, there is some "stretchability" in the pant leg material. Hope this helps! -- Doug.
I will be using this suit for commuting as well, how do these pants do over other clothes? Does the opening allow putting your boot through, or will I have to put the pants on first, then boots?
A shopper on Sep 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Can't say how they would be as over pants. Didn't buy them for that. But as far as getting in or out of the pants with boots on, it's no problem at all. The zippers go all the way to the waist. I put my boots on 1st all the time. On real hot days I've stepped out of them and walked around in boots and riding shorts. Stepped back in zipped them up and was on my way.

Is the rain liner in these pants a waterproof/breathable material (similar in concept to Goretex or Hydratex) or is it just a waterproof liner that would get clammy and hot in warmer weather?
A shopper on Jan 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are not breathable but are waterproof. Best worn on the outside of the pants as the pants are not waterproof. If worn inside it will stick to your skin. On the other hand, textile pants have a liner and very comfortable. I am very pleased with the pants and where them as over-pants in the winter. It literally only took a minute to put on and off as the temp changed during the day. As for summer, have not had the chance to wear yet. Recommendation, if not worn as an over-pant buy your pant size. If an over jeans consider 1 size larger.
Would the motoquest pants go with the airglider 4 jacket or would there be a fitting problem? How long does it take to ship these to Australia?
A shopper on Jun 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They attach to the Airglide 5 for sure. All of Olympia's zippered gear should be compatible.
How do these pants fit if worn over a pair of dress pants, i.e., for commuting?
George A on Sep 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Great. I got the next size up for over pants and fid them to be very comfortable. They keep my dress pants clean. On Hot days 85+ they are hot. It's a good 3 season pant, well made and easy to get on and off. I've worn then in 30 deg to 90 deg and would recommend them. Plus they are on sale right now.
How do these compare to the Airglide pants in regards to airflow?

BEST ANSWER: I have never tried the Airglide pant. These do not have a high level of "flow". I do not notice my thighs or lower torso getting hot or sweaty and I always wear jeans underneath these. Where I notice it is on the outside calf above my boot when traveling north or south the sun just beats down on my legs and they cook. I find myself wanting to have vents in the lower half the legs. It would be nice it they had panels that zipped all the way off for the summer season. I wear these year round and still find I prefer to be hot than the idea of road rash.

I ride a 2006 FJR 1300 for reference.
