MSR Xpedition Helmet
Good for the price.
This helmet has some good features but unfortunately they aren't very well implemented.
Wide field of view and works with a set of goggles.
Not too heavy.
The venting seems to work pretty well.
Wind noise is OK, but I still wear earplugs.
Seems pretty aerodynamic and doesn't cause any problems at highway speeds.
The "visor" is still in your line of sight when in the up position. Not a big deal but a little annoying. The seal around the visor isn't a tight fit either.
The "peak" isn't really effective for blocking the sun since it doesn't come down low enough and is shaped like a point, which only works if the sun is directly in the middle of your view.
The padding inside the helmet isn't very plush so there isn't much margin in getting a good fit. My head measured 58.5cm which is exactly between a MD & LG and I ended up going with a MD which was a little tight at first but seems ok now after a few weeks of breaking in.
Overall this is a good helmet for the price. With a few minor design changes this could be a great helmet.
Revzilla was very helpful and easy to deal with. I will definitely do business with them again.

Hard to beat
For the money you can't go wrong. Yes, it is loud at highway speed. Yes, the visor is still in your field of view when it's all the up. No, it's not terribly light and it will catch wind at speed. All that being said, it's 130 bucks. It's fits me fine, I went on an hour plus long ride and had no pain or discomfort whatsoever. The vents do what they should, been too chilly to experiment much. And it looks pretty good too.

Good helmet, just not for me.
I purchased the MSR based on the price, look & good reviews. When I got the helmet, it seemed huge. My friends commented on how big it was also. I ordered a Medium, which was slightly too big for me. With my winter head sock it's a good fit, but summer would be no good.
My biggest problem would be with the visor & peak. The visor, when riding in cold temps, fogs up easily, even at speed. I played around with the vents, still unable to get it to defog. Also, when riding with the visor up, it doesn't go up high enough to clear your vision. Really annoying & potentially dangerous IMO.
The peak was fine under speeds of 45mph. Once you go above that, you really feel it trying to peel the helmet off your head. Maybe i'm not used to this type of helmet since I've only ridden with street helmets, but I did not like it. Same when turning head to check blind spots. It really wants to whip your head around. I'm looking into maybe getting a street helmet without a peak or possibly another dual-sport helmet with a smaller, removable peak.
The chin strap seemed a bit short also. Hard to loop through the D-rings too.

Always loved MSR products.
MSR makes a quality attractive helmet. My goggles fit nicely under shield. I like that as I'm off road a lot. Also I mounted my go pro under visor with no sight obstruction. Sweet.

Love the ventilation and clear field of vision.
This helmet from MSR was everything I was looking for. The quality of the helmet is great especially the optically correct shield and the ventilation. For the price I feel they give you a lot of bang for the buck. The only problem I had is that I have a long, narrow head measuring 60 cm so I took a chance and ordered the large based on the size chart. Since this helmet does fit the intermediate oval I had to go for the X-large to fit me and it does fit just fine. I have this problem with most helmets that I have tried. I hope this helps others in choosing the right helmet for them.

Colorado trails,Cross country,City traffic,Crash
I bought the helmet in May at a local shop because it was the only thing they had that would fit me (size 2xl) i got it for around town and trail riding out in the small town i was living in Colorado. I then liked so much i decided to take it cross country back to new york. the venting was great and kept my head from getting gross even going through the deep south in late july. Once i got to NYC i used it for going around town and it was just as good as a city helmet as a back country helmet. While i was riding in the city a jeep ran a red light while i was travelling at about 35mph and cliped me causing me to fly about twenty feet then tumble head to toe four times. The crash resulted in a broken collar bone and ankle but the helemet saved me from having even a minor concussion. Would highly recommend this helmet to any one who rides

This helmet was exactly what I was looking for
This helmet was exactly what I was looking for, an inexpensive dual sport helmet. When I first put this helmet on, the cheek pads were a little tight, however after only a couple of rides they have broken in nicely and now the helmet fits snuggly but good. The sun visor is amazing, it keeps the sun out of my eyes almost all day long. There is also plenty of room for goggles underneath the visor.

I am actually pleased with this helmet
I've been using this helmet for a couple of months and found that it is largely oval on the head but down below the neck chin spot of the helmet it narrows down quite a bit and can be kinda hard / hurts to take off the helmet cause of the fabric ruff spots scratching against my bottom ear lobes but other than that I really like this helmet and would say its very stylish and comfortable and light weight and not really much distortion in the lens and for the money you pay for this helmet which is like 110, 120 bucks, that's great for all those who are cheap, but its not cheap as in china cheap but its like im ok with this kind of cheap quality cheap type. That's how I can explain it. Btw this is the one helmet I came to ultimately choose after looking over a lot of reviews of 10 or so top helmets at this price. Also forgot to add that I wear a medium and it is true to size, I have the average sizing head and medium has always been my helmet choosing size and yes it is tight at first but its breaking in very nicely.
