Love this Jacket
I gave this jacket 5 stars across the board. I really tried not to but this jacket does what it's supposed to do really well and I'm very happy with it after wearing it every day for almost two months.

Bang for the buck, there's no other jacket on the market that is a leather/textile hybrid that provides this kind of protection at this price point.

As far as style goes, I think it's a great looking jacket. The branding is subtle and the leather/textile placement gives it a stylish look so it more than just functional. There is a version of this jacket that has the speed hump on the back, which I'm not a fan of so I'm glad the "Radar Dark" comes sans hump.

This is a moto jacket so the comfort level is very good when used as intended. The jacket fits the body in a natural riding position. I bought a size smaller than my normal jacket size as I wanted a tighter fit and I don't regret it at all.

For protection, the leather is placed everywhere you need it and nowhere it's not needed, making acceptable concessions for textile placement for a cooler ride. There is CE rated elbow protection with straps on the outside of the jack that hold them in place. The back protector is just foam so I upgraded to a Klim D3O Viper T5 Pro Back Protector that is level 2 CE rated. With this jacket, I feel I am protected as I need to be and don't really think safety is compromised in any way.

There are mesh jackets that move more air, but I'm relatively happy with the amount of airflow allowed in this jacket design. I live in Los Angeles so I'm always riding in warm weather. In stop and go traffic and at red lights it gets a little warm (obviously) but when I'm moving, even at just 35mph, there is enough airflow through the jacket to keep it comfortable.

Great jacket. It only needs back zip-vents.
Great jacket. It only needs back zip-vents(like other Joe Rocket leathers) to be more comparable to a full mesh jacket as far as airflow. I'm planning to take this to my leather tailor to add them in; shouldn't be any trouble. Loving it so far though- great jacket that fits right on(good XL fit with the size 48) and a great value.

Excellent Jacket!
I'm 5' 11'', 42'' chest, 32'' waist, and I bought a size 42. Fit is great throughout and there's plenty of room for chest armor and upgraded back armor. I live in central Wisconsin and I'm usually very comfortable wearing this without the liner during summer and early fall. Haven't had a fall yet so I can't say how protective this will be but it sure seems to mean well in this department.

Great jacket for Summer
I'm 6'1" and 185 lbs with fairly long arms and a 42 inch chest. I got size 44 so that the arms would be the right length, and they are perfect for me. The jacket is a little loose in the chest area, as anticipated, but that works out well so that I can wear a thin fleece jacket underneath in the spring and fall seasons when under about 60 F. I got it at the beginning of last year’s season, and it’s been a wonderful jacket for me. I got it because it fulfilled my desire for a jacket that would flow plenty of air, be comfortable to wear, and leather in the right areas for protection. It is absolutely awesome in the heat with all the air flowing through the mesh portions. I'm very comfortable while moving at any reasonable temp, and comfortable even at stoplights up to the high 80's. I wear the inner liner below 73 F or so, and it does a great job blocking wind chill. With the liner in, and an additional thermal type jacket underneath, I can comfortably ride in town down to about 45 degrees as well. The only concerns that I have with it are how well it would hold up in a serious crash at the interfaces between the leather and the mesh, and that the leather would remain in the right places to protect elbows/arms.

I love the look of this jacket, and it's very comfortable. Also love that it has belt loops so the jacket stays down during riding.

Awesome jacket!
I have owned this now for 6 months and don't like to review anything without really testing anything. I live in Arizona where temps easily get 115 during summer and even hotter on the roads. I am 6'7 and where size 54. This jacket had amazing air flow and did a great jobs of keeping me cool while on the move. I did not have to sacrifice any protection because of the leather impact area's as well as removable armor. Very well made and nothing has yet to break or show wear. Removable liner is nice for when it gets cold during winter here but other then that I don't use it. I like the belt hoops on the bottom of the jacket so that you can attach to a belt so no plumber crack. Also like the 8 inch zip to attack to my textile pants when I wear them. I would also like to mention the side adjustable straps help keep the jacket nice and snug around the waist. Would also like to mention there is an inside pocket on the left side of the jacket which is a good place for your phone if you use it for music with ear buds. The armor does make the jacket weight more; However, the design helps to keep noticing the armor minimal. Easy to clean as well. I just throw it in gentle cycle without soap with cold water. While damp I apply saddle soap and then gentle buff with dry towel. (Do not dry clean or use dryer) Overall great product for all 4 seasons in Arizona. Highly recommended!

Great Hybrid!
I live in Louisiana so even our winters are warm sometimes. I was looking for a jacket to offer protection, comfort and air flow. I really like this jacket. My other leather jackets are very stiff and not as comfortable as a textile or mesh product. This jacket makes me feel very safe with the leather over most of the jacket, but the addition of the mesh on the front of the arms and shoulders really makes this jacket much more flexible and comfortable in my opinion compared to a solid leather jacket. The fit and finish is great as with almost all of Joe Rocket's products. Definitely happy with my choice.

A great jacket for a great price
This jacket was a lot better than I thought it would be considering the price. It worked well on the freeway (70mph) keeping me warm and feeling protected and kept me cool as well on the freeway. The jacket itself is one of the heavier jackets I have looked at giving me a little more peace of mind and this jacket also is loaded with features. So all in all I would definitively recommend this jacket.

Awesome jacket! Wish it had more hidden pockets is all..
This jacket doesnt cease to amaze me. I am 5'10" with 44" chest and a 34" waist so I taper from top to bottom. This jacket has a great fit. The mesh on the front keeps my body temperature just right. On cooler mornings here in Houston, I would zip up the liner and on the warmer afternoons, I would remove it for the ride home. Very easy to secure the 8" zipper to the pants as well. The worst part of this jacket is cleaning all the dead bugs out of the shoulder vents! haha

I have a 2003 Harley Sportster. I wanted a well fitting jacket for the summer and in black without too much design to go against all the chrome. I am 100% satisfied - its breathable with a modern motorcycle look and worth the price.

Was looking for a jacket that offered good protection in a style/design that still allowed for decent airflow, without obnoxious branding, at a decent price point.

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased this jacket and I am looking to upgrade the back armor. I wanted to know which CE Level 2 back protector insert would provide the most protection and fit snug inside of the pouch of this jacket?

Thank you

How is this jacket in 45-55 degF weather?
A shopper on Jun 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yeah, you're not going to be comfortable much under 50 degrees, even with layering.

The only thing that might help is adding a windproof layer (re: wind breaker) with a hoodie, but that's likely a lot of bulk.
The video shows a hump on the back, however the pictures here and on the Joe rocket website do not show the hump?
A shopper on May 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The Joe Rocket Radar has the hump the Joe Rocket Radar Dark does not have the hump.
