Great pants for protection and comfort
These are great, I've been riding 26 yrs and these are the best pants I've ever had for commuting/sport-touring. I wear them as overpants and ordered 1 size up....DON'T! They fit true to the size chart. I was at the high end of 3x and am able to wear them over my jeans perfectly, not too tight or loose!! The pockets on the thighs are perfect for holding small stuff like keys and your wallet. If you need some overpants, get these!!!

great product, no complaints.
My Dimensions:
Ht- 6'
Wt- 195lbs
Waist- 35"
Inseam- (bottom of heel to upper part of inside of leg) 34"
With the above measurements I ordered a large and they fit perfectly weather i wear them over jeans or on their own. They flow tons of air and are incredibly comfortable. On a hot day with a pair of jeans you wont even know you are wearing them. The knee guards and hip armor feels solid and sits in exactly the right spot. Especially at this price point i couldn't be happier.

Great Air Flow!
Why I bought these pants?
My other pants (Tour Master Calibers) were way too hot, even with the winter weather liners removed. I don’t typically sweat in normal clothes and why should that be any different when wearing my motorcycle gear. And anyone who sweats in normal clothes doesn’t want to be even more uncomfortable by sweating more in their motorcycle gear right?
All-in-all: These pants are the ticket for riding MUCH cooler as though you're wearing your normal clothes!
Dislikes: The knee/shin guards! They move medially and laterally way too much! I went out and bought some Troy Lee Knee/Shin Guards KG 5450's to counter this! Much better!
Additional input: I bought the Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 jacket as well. Again, my tourmaster jacket was way too hot! And again, the padding at the elbows and shoulders of the Phoenix 5.0 did not agree with me. I bought a Fox Titan Sport Jacket Upper Body Armor. Again, much better.
Conclusion: Superior air flow but you might be in the same boat as me when it comes to switching out the padding for another company’s. And if anyone is wondering why I gave these pants a 4 out of 5 for "bang for the buck", it's because the default armor didn't meet my needs, forcing me to fork out more $$$ for additional armor.
Ride safe. Ride cool.

Great pants overall - but could use another set of pockets
Got the pants just prior to a 2300 mile ride in the Pac Norwest in mid-August. Pants were comfortable, sized right (am 5'5"/155 lbs and ordered a Med Short) and were easy to wear (lots of velcro adjustments). Would be better with at least one more pocket (probably on lower leg). For the price, a very good pair of pants for 50 degree (you can always layer beneath) to 90 degree temps.

Great for hot weather
For reference I am 5'9" 205 lbs. 40" waist. Based on the size chart I ordered the XXL and it fit pretty close to spot on. Plenty of room in the waist. Comfortable fit, with plenty of velcro strap adjustments to get it just right. I bought these for hot summer riding so they are not as tough as winter wear. Have only worn them up to 92F and the ventilation & cooling were great. I suspect they would be just as cooling in hotter weather as well. These are thin & light and may only provide moderate protection in a fall. But, I expect such trade off for really cool summer wear with significant ventilation. Pad placement suits me just fine. I wear them as stand alone pants for maximum cooling. Styling is pretty good.... The only negative I have is that the snap together buttons at the waist are cheap. Joe Rocket must have known this because it comes with a little bag of extra replacement buttons. So, instead of fixing the quality issue they give you a bag of parts to fix it yourself. Pretty lame. However, for the price of these summer riding pants, I would still recommend them. You can always put your own buttons in them of better quality.

Great Product!
Pros: Great air flow! Specially when riding around in Texas heat! These are also good as over the pants riding pants, so you can wear your slacks or jeans no problem under them. And front pockets are easily accessible with gloves on!
Cons: No way other to tighten the knee pads onto your knee. I used to play hockey and soccer and am used to pad being tight on your legs - here they are loose but when seated they are right in place. I've done some mock falls and each time the pad goes where it needs to be. Also right as I was trying all the Velcro the left legs Velcro stitching ripped apart from the leg. Not a major issue as I know how to stitch it together, just makes me wonder if there is any other bad stitching somewhere.
