Joe Rocket Phoenix 3.0 Pants
Great fit, comfortable, good looking.
For a 36" waist and 29" inseam I ordered the XL Short. It fits perfect over a pair of jeans. Fits well in seat and legs, not baggy at all. The length is a tad too long with my thick-soled riding boots on, but the velcro closure at the cuff keeps it off the ground. Good comfort all around. The knee armor adjusts to two positions, and mine fit right when adjusted to the lower one. Thick & sturdy knee and hip pads. Airflow seemed good on rides in the high nineties. It has both a rear zipper and belt loops to attach to a jacket. Fairly easy off and on (with boots off).
Minor complaints are that the velcro band for the waist closure is a bit short and so comes undone a little too easily, and it has a tendency to bunch up inside the plastic loop it goes through, the hip pads are NOT C.E. rated, and there is NO tailbone pad. Also, I REALLY wish they were available in Hi-Viz yellow.

Great pants. A tad small and short.
After reviewing the size chart I ordered a men's large. It fits but they are really snug in the waist (I wear a men's 34). Also, the pants are too short and hike up my boots when riding. Unfortunately these don't appear to come in a "long". Pants wear well and breathe very well.

Easy to put on and off but quality and protection is lacking
These have zippers that go 3/4 way up your leg so you can step into them with boots and step out of them and throw them in your saddle bag when you get where you are going. There is a convenient pocket on the front of the right leg which is perfect to hold a wallet or phone. However, it is not waterproof so it has reduced functionality. The zippers on the legs are also (inexplicably) two way. In other words you can zip them from the hem up the side of the leg but you can also zip the zipper down from the top of the leg to the hem, leaving the leg flapping open but the cuff attached. I’m not sure what the intended function of this is but if you zip them down by mistake you will ride away with no protection as I did once.
The Knee armor is tiny and rides up too high when sitting. The mesh feels very flimsy and I was worried that it would tear in an accident and render the armor useless as it would not stay in place. Airflow is good though. If you do buy these, keep in mind they run small so you need to size up especially if wearing them as over pants.
On my fifth or so wear, the inside mesh tore away from the outside mesh causing my boot to hang up every time I put them on. I wore them like that for a week or so and then decided to send them to Joe Rocket under warranty. The warranty department concluded that they were defective and gave me credit through RevZ to purchase another pair. I had only had these for three weeks and did not feel very protected by them so I used the credit to purchase something else. I have to give credit to their warranty but I wish they had put that level of effort into perfecting what could have been a good product.

Good price and quality.
These pants fit slightly more snug than I expected given the sizing charts and such. Other than that, the armor and pads are located well in the riding position and are comfortable with a good amount of airflow. I rode with them this past weekend in 100 degrees with no issues. I have not crashed in them so I cannot speak to the actual protection aspect but feel like the materials could stand up to it with minimal damage.

I've wore this overpants several times since I received them. Several long trips in them. They wear comfortably. I wore demin shorts underneath them & once I arrived at destination I took off the over pants. My only real issue is that their a little long. I don't believe they can be hemmed. The velcro straps aren't long enough to tighten the legs up enough around my boots to keep the legs from dragging. Otherwise I am planning on purchasing another pair.

Stitching could be better
I bought these basicall because no one else makes riding gear for big riders. Problem is that they are waaaaay to long! If your 6ft 8 then these will be fine if your 6ft then plan on walking all over them. Worn them 5 times and stitching has come loose in crotch area. Not very happy with quality! But had basically no choice of anything else to buy so oh well. If you can find something that fits your size i recommend not buying these, If not then this discription is what you will get!

I like these pants - good protection, good fit, looks. But in the summer I get too hot and take them off. They do as good as they can - they seem tough and would help if I were to lay it down. But, if it gets in the 90's I'm going back to me jeans.

Great pants for the price
I was looking for summer riding pants with decent protection, good quality, and a couple of convenience features, for less than $180. I already had 3-season pants (also bought from Revzilla), but they weren't cutting it in the mid-south heat and humidity. Found it right here.
I'm 6'-0", 195 lbs., normally wear 36 x 32 jeans, ordered the XL size, and the fit is perfect. Even if it isn't, the adjustable waist takes care of it #one of the features I wanted#. The knee armor sits in the right place, the hip padding is larger than my other pants. I've put about 1000 miles on them and don't see any signs of quality problems - no seams opening, textile unraveling, zippers breaking.
Leg zippers are another key feature to me - I like to wear shorts underneath and be able to strip my pants off at extended stops. Whereas some pants have knee-high zippers #which seems useless# and some go to the hip #very functional#, these go up to mid-thigh, which is 'adequate' but requires just a little patience to take off over boots. There are a couple of intermediate Velcro patches to secure the flap over the zipper, which is just an annoyance. IMO they should have put in 12" more zipper and left the Velcro off.
I don't like that Joe Rocket uses their own brand name of fabric and rating that you can't compare directly to a denier rating, but I watched a fellow rider go down and her Joe Rocket gear did its job without a scratch on her, so it must be okay.
Revzilla also did an awesome job shipping them out the first business day, and their video reviews make all the difference in buying decisions.
