HJC CL-16 Voltage Helmet
This is my first helmet and I really enjoy using it.

Didn't even last a year!!!
The PLASTIC screws that hold the piece that holds the visor in place came loose 3 times and had to re-tightened on the road once. Finally the screws broke off. I replaced them with metal screws, but then the PLASTIC threads broke. Completely useless now. This was within 8 months of use. I didn't even change the visor (from clear to dark that often) maybe like a couple of times a month. Will never buy another HJC helmet again. I bought an Icon Airframe thinking it would have metals screws since it's about twice as much, but it also has plastic screws. Maybe they are a stronger plastic. Haha.

Great helmet at a great closeout price!
This is a great helmet. Granted I have been riding with a Fuel I bought at walmart which was too big and the last helmet before that was an Arai that I had 20 years ago. My head measures at the top of a medium and the beginning of a large. I bought the large and it fits perfectly. Wind noise is better than my old helm but still present. I love the pin lock and the venting is good which is saying a lot as I live in GA and it is HOT here in the summer. I highly recommend this lid especially if you are on a budget like I am. I bought the neon and people notice me at intersections which was what I wanted. Bottom line is it's a great helmet at a great price.

Great starter Helmet
almost all of the sliders are in the neutral position; this is because I haven't owned any other helmets. I have no limiting of my vision laterally, however, when wearing the helmet, and so I can comment on the FOV. This helmet is an entry-level helmet, and should be treated as such. It's a really good entry level helmet, though. It's SNELL approved, which is a strong vote of confidence that it will keep your melon whole, though it doesn't have the bells and whistles of other helmets. There is a chin intake vent and a forehead intake, and exhaust vents on the back of the neck, and that's about all that's going on. There's no blue tooth, there's no wifi, and you don't get a built-in rear-view mirror. It's just a helmet, and it's good at being a helmet.
I picked this helmet because I wanted the certainty of a SNELL-rated helmet without shelling out hundreds of dollars, and I wanted something in hi-vis yellow to match my jacket and help me stand out. It works- I've already had a touchy situation where not being glow-y yellow would have lost me the edge on being seen, and I get compliments all the time on how cool my helmet looks. If you're looking for a helmet that is just a helmet, but is really good at being a helmet, look no further- and please, do yourself a favor, and get it in yellow.

One of the best bangs for the buck!
I followed the sizing chart and didn't run into any sizing issues.
The high-viz scheme stands out great.
Helmets pinlock insert is nice for preventing fogged lenses.
Overall, if you're not looking to spend Shoei prices, then consider this helmet as it's a great price for being DOT and Snell approved.
