Firstgear Women's HT Overpants
Very Pleased and happy with first pair of riding pants
This is a first time review from a first time writer..I purchased these riding pants in December when they were on sale....I have been wanting to buy them but just hesitant because of price....Friends of mine have the older ones and really like them....So, since I got a new BMW R1200gs (2016) I have more air and less wind protection, I got these with the liner......
The first pair I got had a snap bad so I asked Revzilla to change which they did without hesitation. In fact, ordered them done day and had the new pay the next afternoon....
Because my inseam is 29" and my waist is 37-38, I got the 38 Short.....These pants are wonderful. Fit great and after a small adjustment of the knees pads, they are perfect....
When wearing riding, the length is perfect. The legs fall right at the beginning of the boot and ankle....Knee pads fall right into place......
When walking around, they tend to drop down to my hips...I noticed there is a belt loop, but decided to get some Chum suspenders...Now everything is perfect....Perfect length, perfect waist and the ability to put on and off is facilitated by the ¾ length zipper.....The only thing that is somewhat bothersome is the zipper. It tends to get stuck on the material on the side of the zipper. (Reason for only 4 stars)....Other than that theses are very good pants and the liner make them perfect for weather temperatures down to 40F....The top of my legs and shins are not cold...Coupled with my 20 year old Kilimanjaro jacket and liner. I am warm......Sometimes is use my Gerbing heated vest. but after 20 years, things are beginning to get tight.........Hehehehe....Highly recommend...

Not a single bad thing I can say
I always worry about buying clothes or gear online due to fit, seeing the style, etc, but this one was a slam dunk for me. And it was even riskier since it was a Christmas gift. The sizing was spot on, the style is simple overall, but just how I like it. The armor sits in exactly the right place.
But the single most important thing, I haven't gotten a chance to go colder yet, but at 10 F, my legs feel absolutely nothing. It is pretty amazing.

Short length is way too long
I bought the Firstgear Kilimanjaro jacket, which fit like it was tailored for my size. I figured I would have luck with their matching pants in short length. I have a 28 inch inseam, so I figured that getting the short length of these should be fine. I was very wrong. While I got the short length version, waist was fine, the quality was excellent, however the length seems to be 4-5 inches too long. I figured I could have them tailored, but I am wondering if that is possible. As of now, the knee protection is covering my shins. It's a shame. I figured I was in luck when I saw these were offered in short length, but their short length is for folks who are about 5'8-5'9, not 5'4".

For success-measure your beer belly.
Don't go by your jean size-get out a tape measure. Measure your actual waist size just below your belly button. My belly measured just short of 38 and I wear a 34 X 30 denim jean. I chose a 36 Regular and it fits perfectly. I think a 38 would snug down that far, but look like clown pants. I don't know why manufactures think a bigger waist means fatter legs.

This product has convenient pockets and fits well.
I especially like these pants because they have a waterproof liner that works well in heavy rain and provides wind protection as well for use on cooler days. Plenty of extra storage in the large pockets and access to the pockets in my jeans.

13 months is all it take for HT pants to start leaking . I ll see if re waterproffing works . Frankly 6 times I bought firstgear and 5 times then end up being sent back for warranty. 4 of them were TPG products . Warranty is no issue but the fact that they fail is. second pair of HT pants failing. 1 was from seam opening up . 2) zipper coming lose. At these pricing it s not worth it . Rather spend more cash now then latter. First gear sucks .

I wasn't sure what to expect in this price range. Seems like stuff is either cheap or Klim-type price. These pants are very good and I am satisfied with the purchase. Easy on with the full zip legs. Everyday riding pants that don't take forever to put on or take off.

This pair of pants are a great value . I would recommend them.
I wore these pant for the BMW rally in Billings Montana and they were great. I did the iron butt challenge --1000 miles in 24 hours--and drove thru thunderstorms and high winds. They stayed dry and performed flawlessly. I would highly recommend them.
