The Dunlop Sportmax Q3 is the next-generation sport bike tire and successor to Dunlop's popular Q2 tire, featuring Dunlop’s new Carbon Fiber Technology (CFT) which incorporates carbon fiber reinforcements into the sidewall. The Dunlop Q3 Sportmax also features an updated tread pattern with longer grooves to better evacuate water which helps wet weather performance and rear tires boast Dunlop's Intuitive Response Profile (IRP) for phenomenal handling and steering grip and feel.
The new Sportmax Q3 represents yet another direct benefit yielded from Dunlop’s AMA Pro Road Racing involvement. As the control tire supplier for AMA Pro Road Racing, Dunlop invested in new tire-producing machinery necessary to accommodate race tire production at Dunlop’s Buffalo, NY, manufacturing facility. These same high-tech machines are used to produce the all-new Q3 rear tire.
Dunlop’s Carbon Fiber Technology (CFT) uses carbon fiber reinforcement in the tire sidewalls for exceptional cornering performance and feel
Aggressive new Q3 tread pattern uses fewer grooves that are longer in length to enhance wet-weather performance
New Q3 tire compounds were derived from road-race compounds to yield maximum sportbike performance
The Dunlop Sportmax Q3 offers superb grip, stability, steering feel and longevity on the street and on the track
Designed, tested and manufactured in America, the Sportmax Q3 sets new standards for high-performance sport tires

Chris H: great tire for the price. Was stuck between this tire and the PP3 but i decided to go with the dunlop and i couldnt be happier. the dunlop seemed to be more of a sticky tire less concerned with tread life and as we all know the better tires are going to run out quicker but the grip is amazing.Apr 7, 2015
Kristin Y: if these are better than the old q2 then they should be amazing tiresFeb 19, 2015
Desmond O: I got the Q2 on the rear, and its a great tire. Now that the front is worn out, I'm getting the Q3s to replace it!Feb 17, 2015
Canon S: "Dunlop is the only American made motorcycle tire company, and many experienced street and track riders know and trust them. Every manufacturer makes a tire in this category, so Dunlop got my business for the above reasons. Previously had PP; we'll see how the Q3 compares!"Feb 16, 2015
Steve R: Replacement for what is currently on the bike. Super sticky on the street, quick to warm up and even holds its own on damp roads. Not good for standing water thoughFeb 12, 2015
Andrew B: I had a good experience with the Q2s.Feb 9, 2015
Ram S: Tried the Michelin Pilot Power, figured I'd give this a shotJan 23, 2015

Jonathan C: Best tires I have owned. Amazing on the track. Did one track day, and rode 7300 miles relatively aggressive and highway, before the belts started showing. So I will continue to order these tires till I find something better.Sep 29, 2014

Matt G: They are the best tire around, I will gladly sacrifice distance to get a tire that sticks! How much does it cost to lay the bike down because you wanted to save $$ on tires?? Oh, and you could die if you buy cheap tires too but its the price that counts ... right ??Aug 29, 2014
Marc G: Stellar traction at a fantastic price. No tire warmers needed!Aug 4, 2014

Penelope C: Matches previously replaced tire we were happy with.May 20, 2014
Adam S: Coming from 2cts. I never thought I would like tires better than those. I was proven wrong. I chew em up but damn are they sticky.May 19, 2014
Michael F: Tried the Q3 rear after running Pilot Powers... what a world of difference. For the price, the Q3 Can't be beat. After riding on the rear for a while, I decided that the Dunlop's were the tire for me, hands down.May 17, 2014
felipe b: this? "I've been riding on Q2s for the past couple of years and they have very good handling capabilities. I am guessing that the next generation is equally is good or better. Down side with the Q2s is that they do wear down rather quickly in comparison to harder tires. I'd rather spend a bit more than take aMay 2, 2014
Nathan W: Needed replacement for my Q2's. Liked them so much, couldn't imagine the Q3 being worse. They rock, super grip out of the box. Fast break in, have 1000 miles thus far, very happy, fast turn-in. Probably will not provide huge mileage, as they are more race/track specific tires, but with low price, can afford to use as primary tire for all I do on my Ducati.Apr 24, 2014
gedas r: looked at review of other people, like description "sticky, handles well, Dunlop,"Apr 22, 2014
Romeo P: I'm comfortable riding on this tire.Mar 15, 2014
V I: Great tire for street and track duty.Feb 24, 2014
Eyon K:That's weird - I've never noticed before. But that is indeed the direction of tread travel. I have 6k+ miles on my Q3 fronts, with 60% commute and 40% canyon twisties, and have ridden in light rain a few times. No issues with traction in the rain, but I also don't push it when it rains either. Lots of very favorable test reviews available on the internet of the Q3 on the track in the dry and in the wet. Not sure why the front is designed that way, but Dunlop has an engineering reason for everything they put into a tire, including tread design.May 27, 2015
A shopper asked:I currently have the Q2. I must have bought an old set as they dry rioted quickly! However best tire I have ever been on! Felt extremely comfortable on this tire. My only problem other then the dry riot, is the center wore out way to fast as I do a lot of commuting! I have more then plenty of side tread left, but I am at core at the center. I lean pretty hard and if I had pucks I would be on my knees so I like the grip the Q2 advertises and gave me, but I guess I do to much straight commuting for the life of the center. Is there a tire that will give me longer center tread life but the same multi tread and grip of the Q2/Q3. I do not get on the track or tail of the dragon but maybe once a year, I do hope to get on a track much more often this year once I get track gear but not sure if the Q3 would still be right for me as its designed as a 50/50, Id be more 10 track, 30 to hard on street, 60 1 hour plus commuting trips. Also need to consider price. I want the Q3 but is there something better for me for the price? Thank you in advance for any and all input.May 18, 2015
Eyon K:I ride 70% commute and 30% canyon twisties. Started with Roadsmart (OEM stock), then Q2, then Q3. I have 6k+ on the front - no flat topping. I have 4k+ on the rear and just now am noticing the start of flat topping (and I weigh 220 + 50 lb backpack of work gear). A couple of earnest days in the canyon twisties and that rear should round out just fine. Tread life has been good for me Traction and feel is far superior to road/commute oriented tires. There are road/commute oriented tires that will last longer, but you will give up that feel and grip of the Q3. Classic trade-off. If two sets of tires (one for commute, one for track/canyon) is not an option, and feel/traction is more important than tire life, then Q3 is an amazing all-around tire for the price.May 27, 2015
