Cool Protection
I have been riding for a few months with my leather jacket Dainese Razon (great jacket too by the way), but the Australian was just too hot for that jacket, and while it was OK with speed, in the city I was burning.

So I bought the new Dainese Air Flux D1, transfered my back plate over, and starting wearing it daily. It really lets the air flow through the jacket, which make the whole experience a lot cooler (it even gets a little chilly in the early morning as I leave for work).

The jacket actually looks really good, feels good too, and has the same protections than my Razon - except for the leather that is.

I would have liked an internal pocket or two for my mobile phone and wallet, but the existing external pockets are pretty big.

I would highly recommend it for those of you who living in warm areas, makes a huge difference turning to work without sweat all over your shoulders.

Great jacket, looks to hold up for a long time
I've been riding this jacket every day for a few months now. It shows no sign of wear. It flows air well, takes the Forcefield back protector, and is just a great, reliable jacket. It fits my body like a correctly fitting clove.

I compared this directly with the RevIt GT-R Air, which seems to a top seller. I agree that the RevIt is more jacket for only $20 more, for example the Revit uses buttons instead of elastic. That is nice. But this Dianese jacket is lighter, and looks a lot more like a normal jacket than a motorcycle jacket. That's what I was going for, and it's perfect. I use my motorcycle for many purposes, touring, commuting, buying groceries, and going out to clubs occasionally at night. So I can walk into a bar and it doesn't scream motorcycle, which I like. Great product. Thanks.

Tested protection out firsthand
I can vouch for the protection this jacket offers.

I took a nasty fall the other day and having this jacket on saved me from what would have been an immediate trip to the hospital. Sure other jackets would probably have done the same but having that extra air flow kept this jacket on at all times.

Be safe and pair this up with the Dianese G series back protector as well.

Works for me in Texas summer heat
When it comes to anything designed to protect my body and personal property, I live by the ideology of "its not supposed to be comfortable, it's supposed to be comforting." The Air-Flux D1 is comforting with a good fit, sturdy protection that I'm willing to trust, and is specifically good at flowing enough air to keep my body cool in the heat of Dallas, TX. I added my own back protector which fit perfectly in the slot with internal velcro to keep it from moving. With that in mind, together price wise I would say that I got a good deal that will last for seasons, if not years. Since I commonly use backpacks it is not a huge help, but people I know that drove behind me say the reflection on the back is very well placed and eye-catching. The sleaves are hard to remove after getting slightly sweaty, but I am more than happy to take more time taking it off, than to have them move around loose if I was to slide. Go for this jacket if you want one without a bunch of loud design, but with proven mesh airflow.

Looks Good, Feels Good
This jacket is very comfortable to wear. It has good airflow while moving, although it can get pretty hot when stopped - but that's to be expected. The elbows are pre-bent for comfort. The elbow and shoulder armor is comfortable. It has nice clean lines as well as some nice reflective accents. The tail is slightly longer to cover your lower back butterfly tattoos when riding in a more aggressive position. My only complaint is that the zipper is on the opposite side than usual. I knew this going in and is will just take some getting used to. Overall, would definitely recommend this product.

Excellent hot-weather protection for a realistic price
When I bought my first jacket, a '3 season' affair, I thought that it would be just fine for summer riding. I mean it has vents!

Once the Georgia summer rolled around, I realized that I needed something dedicated to the 80% of the year when it's t-shirt weather in the South. I was coming home drenched after even short rides, and slow traffic in the city can mean that not much air gets circulated into a more traditional vented design.

The Dainese Air Flux D1's huge mesh panels on the front and back have really improved my summer riding experience. The airflow is so good that I generally don't feel like I'm wearing a riding jacket at all, and I can finally take off my jacket after a ride without needing to immediately change shirts!

The fit was a little tight for me, but I ordered on the lower end of my size range. I considered sending it back for one EU size larger, but honestly the close fit means that the safety pads stay where they're supposed to over my shoulders and elbows! That was almost a new experience for me in jackets. I've also come to love the fit because it makes me feel unencumbered when moving on the bike - no extra fabric to bunch up or catch on something.

The elbow pads are awesome, and extend all the way down onto the forearms. I thought that would be a little restrictive, but they articulate at the elbow joint and are quite comfortable.

One of my only complaints about this jacket is that there is no velcro or (better still) button to hold back the collar flap. In this weather, at city speeds, I really don't need a full collar to ride 2 miles to work. Would be nice to tuck it away.

All in all, a great value! Totally recommend it if you're having to switch shirts before you walk into the office!

Highflow and lightweight!
Got this jacket for the summer and it's just about a perfect 10. The only real shortcoming was the collar strap but that was an easy $3 fix (see pictures). Others have experienced the same issue when riding collar open and I agree, it's just annoying.

Other than that, I would have preferred Double Chest protector pockets - which pretty much doubles as an internal pocket when you don't use chest protectors.

Seeing as this was a summer jacket, I picked the lightest color combo there was, Antracite/Black. It looks much lighter, almost white, in pictures but in real life it's grey - somewhat reflective which is nice.

Wore a long sleeve shirt with this jacket over it in 64 degree weather and the ride was nice n' cool.

In 85+, and a short sleeve with this jacket, I'm notably less sweaty than if I wore my icon overlord textile (which is now my winter jacket).

In 90+, I drive, with the air-conditioning on.

Great summer jacket
So far this has been a life saver for summer riding due to the great airflow. It's been relatively hot in the south east and I've been as comfortable as you're going to get wearing any jacket in direct sun.

I'm 5'10 185lbs "muscular" build and I bought a 52.

The only thing I can see as a downside so far is the arms are a little tight. I'm hoping the foam armor will break in a little bit. It's not uncomfortable just a little snug.

The listing doesn't say much about the abrasion resistance of the material. How heavy is the material? Is it Cordura?
BlastersFan on Dec 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is a light jacket made for summer riding so Im not sure how resistant it will be. The sleeves are made of tough material but the chest and back where the venting is seems like it wouldn't hold up as well. You can put a back potector in however. All in all I love this jacket for hot weather riding.
Does this jacket have a pant connecting zipper? 360°?

Would this jacket be suitable for commuting 10-15 miles in the summer? Would it provide decent protection for highway speeds?

BEST ANSWER: My work is 20 miles away. I ride daily. The jacket is very nice for the ride. Would suggest back protector add in when purchasing.
