A mixed bag
It's convenient and a cool idea, but has issues. When mounted on my VStrom, it's difficult to angle the unit vertically enough to remove glare in bright sun from the vinyl cover. The cover, however, is waterproof, and that's a good thing, so when the sun's not bright, things work well. A magazine review panned the water resistant side holes meant for routing connecting cables thru. They need to be enlarged to get almost any connector routed thru. I use a Garmin Nuvi 4.3" GPS and the holes are all wrong for connecting this GPS. Even with a 90 degree usb connector coming thru the side hole to connect to the GPS on it's bottom, there is barely enough room in the case vertically for the connector. I sealed up the side holes and cut a new one in the bottom to route a connector thru. I suspect that a Zumo, as pictured in the Dryver ad, might be a better fit, but the Zumos are waterproof, so shouldn't need the protection. Pics are attched of my mods.
