good bag
I bought this for my 2008 klr and it has worked well. I have the giant loop rear bag and i sealed the seams on this tank bag with rubber cement like they recommend with the tail bag, but it is not rain proof and i carry a cover. I use the IMS 10 gallon tank and I adventure ride and this thing has really stood up to a beating It is always jammed packed weighing close to ten pounds. It fits the KLR well and the harness is trouble free, the bag easy to gas up and quick off and on. The harness stays put and its a good system The size is appropriate with minimal restriction, i would not want anything bigger it would get in the way. This is a great adventure bag!

Nice tank bag for holding small stuff
easy on/off, secure, seems tuff enough, I like the fact that GL is a system and you can add additional bags to the harness system in the future if you want to. GL should add a wire port so you can charge your electronics while riding...they have it on the Pro model, but not on the Standard.

Good bag, easy on/off. Can scratch your tank
I spent a lot of time deciding on whether or not I wanted to pull the trigger for the money for this tank bag. Overall, I'm glad I did. Its a fairly large tank bag that will hold my winter gloves, my DSLR camera, along with an assortment of small items that I'd want easy access too. A smaller bag wouldn't give me what I want from it. The finish is solid. Seems like a tough well-made bag though I can't vouch for the water-resistance of it yet. Other reviews imply mixed results.

I really like the separate mounting harness that can remain permanently attached to the bike and allow the zippered on/off of the actual bag. Its simple to use and very convenient.

My only complaint is that the harness had a tendency to start scratching the finish on my tank as dust and grit accumulated beneath it. This was even with the harness tightened down snuggly. I put some 3M Scotchguard protective plastic on my tank and that solved the problem.

Overall, the scratching of the tank gives the Bang for the Buck rating of 4. Evan with that said, its a good piece of kit and I would buy it again.

not water proof
I was under the impression that Giant Loop was water proof but after reading further it is water resistant. For camera gear in your tank bag it has to be waterproof.

It also attaches to its base with 2 sippers on either side which make the bag a little floppy. Camera gear does not like floppy.

A friend recommended it, and I liked the fact that it is angled and provides a guide (so I don't lean too far forward) when I ride standing. Plus its different most people I know have wolfman bags and I like the giant loop logo "nice touch!" A few friends are thinkng about trading out their wolfman tank bags for the giant loop. My tankbag was waterproof and their wolfman tank bags had to be covered during rainstorms.

I own two Suzuki DR650, and traveled with my bike to many remote areas and countries.
I ordered the same bag two years ago from Rezvila, My bikes are equipped with Acerbis 5.3 and 6.6 Gallon Tanks and Recycle Gel seat, the Giant loop tank bag is very good quality bag and the best fit for Suzuki DR 650.

Does this bag require a rain cover?
A shopper on Jun 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I bought the bag believing it to be waterproof. I just returned from a trip that saw quite a bit of rain, I did get some leakage along the zipper. It does state water resistant zipper, this is not waterproof. My bag did let in some water.
