Arai Signet-Q Mask Helmet
I'm Very happy with my purchase of this helmet!
I did a lot of research on helmets prior to buying the Signet-Q and narrowed down the choices to 3 helmets - the Shoei RF-1100, Schuberth C3P and the Arai RX-Q. I really wanted the ability to try on the helmets at one time to compare fit but couldn't find a local store that had even 2 of them. Luckily, I had the opportunity to visit the Revzilla store on a recent business trip - they had all 3 available to try! After 5 minutes with Bobby, a VERY knowledgeable salesman, I eliminated the Schubert modular because it is modular and the RX-Q because of my head shape (more oval than round). After trying on the Signet-Q and the Shoei I chose the Arai for fit and comfort. It is very light weight, has fantastic venting, an anti-fog Pin-lock shield included and the interior pads can be fine tuned for best fit. So far, I'm Very happy with my purchase of this helmet!

Fit was everything but the extra features have spoiled me.
As a beginner motorcyclist this was my very first personal helmet and I have owned it now for several months. I grew up on the back of bikes so I am no stranger to helmets, but I had always received older hand-me-downs that never fit my head correctly. They either left a big painful hot-spot on the tip of my forehead after 20 minutes, or they were too large altogether. The helmets were the right size, but not the right shape.
Long story short, with my own money, safety and comfort on the line I tried on a boatload of helmets only to come up short in the fit department every time. Online research led me to the Signet Q. The price was definitely premium, but if it was finally the helmet I was looking for, it would be totally worth it.
The first item I put it on was like magic. My XL sized head socketed perfectly into place, the skies opened up, and a double rainbow stretched across the horizon. Awesome.
I bought the helmet on fit alone but soon came to appreciate all the other features. I first used the helmet at the MSF basic course (highly recomended BTW) where it was hot, humid, and just poured on the second day. Fogging was a problem as I hadn't installed the Pinlock visor yet, and at parking lot speeds the ventilation doesn't help much with that or the bucket full of sweat. The day after this thing had a serious funk to it. if it weren't for the removable liners I don't think I would have ever completely ridden myself of the smell. They really are such a huge convenience and I don't think I'll ever buy another helmet without them. At speed the venting is great, so I haven't had any more stinky sweaty helmet days anyway. Conversely in the colder seasons with the vents closed my head stays nice and warm with cold air only coming in from the neck area.
I have had zero fog since installing the included Pinlock insert. I've tried to get it to fog up and I just can't. It's amazing really. The insert is very easy to install, Arai's shield mechanism isn't as difficult as some people say. The stock visor is perfectly clear with a huge field of view and the Pinlock insert detracts nothing from that. Though if you continue to wear it at night it does create a significant star-burst effect from lights.
Other miscellaneous thoughts;
Noise level is a bit better than average.
Vents open and close with solid, positive clicks.
The brow vents can be tricky to operate with gloves on.
The cushion on the chin straps could be extended, but they aren't uncomfortable.
The visor has no set half-way open positions. Not needed with Pinlock anyway.
Plexus is great for cleaning off the shield and surface of the helmet.

I LOVE my Arai Signet-Q mask.
This is simply the best full face helmet i've ever worn in 30 years of riding!

This is by far the best fitting helmet I own. I also own a shoei RF1100
This helmet fits perfect for my head shape. The fit and finish is second to none the quality and attention to detail is what Arai is known for. As long as I ride I will always own an Arai helmet

Great lid - highly reccommend
Ordered on a Monday, received on a Tuesday (even with free shipping!) This helmet is my second Arai. First was a Quantum2. This lid is far more comfortable, has great air flow and is very light. The paint job is fantastic - I have the Mask/Red. The PinLock does its job. I live in WI and the mornings can get quite cool. My old visor would always fog up - not this one. As far as noise, I wear earplugs since my bike is fairly loud (RC51 with D&Ds).

RX-Q to a Signet Q
I've been an Arai helmet guy for a long time. I've owned a few different models over the years and always been happy with the product. I bought a RX-Q last year to replace a Corsair RX-7. The fit was the same as the Corsair which I was happy with. With the old Corsair I found after a day of riding that I'd start to feel a bit of discomfort. i figure it was due to the break down of the liner. Well I found that at the end of a long day of riding with the new RX-Q I was getting the same problem. Not really enough for me not to like the helmet really. So I was looking to just buy a pinlock shield for the RX-Q. While shopping for it I watched the Revzilla video on the Signet Q. I started to realize that I probably have the long oval type of head shape. So I pulled the trigger on the Signet.....it also comes with the pinlock sheld I was looking for. I'm very pleased with how it fits. I was able to run with it the other day. I didn't get any of the discomfort I had toward the end of the day before. The quality of construction and paint is what I've come to expect from Arai.

This is my first Arai and cant believe I waited so long. I have 3 shoei's and this helmet is much better. Super quiet, plush and the graphics are flawless. Pinlock works great and the dark smoke lens looks awesome with black and white paint. If you are on the fence, go for it. You will not be disappointed.
