Arai Defiant Pro Cruise Helmet

Designed specifically for the aesthetics and needs of street fighter and naked bike riders but with the added functionality of a built-in sun shade, the Arai Defiant Pro-Cruise Helmet is aggressive and feature rich as one would expect from any Arai helmet. The Defiant Pro-Cruise Helmet expands the functionality of the first generation Arai Defiant Helmets by adding the Arai Pro Shade system, which operates as both a peak and as a sun shade. The Pro Shade System is a small peak that is locked in position. Unlocking is easy; just pull the Pro Shade System forward, then it can be flipped down with a flick of the hand to act as an effective sun-visor.

Based on the fit and comfort of the Quantum, the Arai Defiant Pro-Cruise was built for the upright riding position with its aggressive, integrated chin spoiler, which was designed specifically to guide wind around the neck and to improve the aerodynamic properties of the helmet. The Hyper Ridge Bumper circles the bottom of the shell both adding additional strength and also lowering the helmet's center of gravity, while flaring the helmet opening slightly to increase the ease of putting on, and taking off.

The Arai Defiant Pro-Cruise Helmet utilizes Arai's latest faceshield design, the SAI Max Vision Pinlock Shield with Brow Vents and includes Pinlock insert lens. The SAI Max Vision shield has been widened by 5mm left and right and offers one of the widest eyeports available for excellent peripheral vision.

Arai Defiant Pro-Cruise Helmet 4.6 5 118 118
This a great helmet!!!! No need to carry 2 visors. The shade feature is excellent and has great visibility. Helmet is very comfortable and fits great. The only concern I have is when using my Sena 20s, the speakers do not sit far enough in without bothering my ears. I had to modify the depth to make them fit better. I called Arai to see if the 15mm cheek pads have a thinner base, but they said that the only difference is the thickness of the removable pads. Other than this, this is an excellent product. Insane Air Flow. I have this helmet for 2 months now and it is very different from anything I ever had. Air flow was mindblowing first time I got up to 50 mph. Air blows from every angle and and sometimes straight into your eyes. You cannot completely seal this helmet. Even with all vents closed there is more airflow than my Shoei RF1100. This is great helmet in the summer at moderate speed but I can't imagine wearing this helmet on a long trip. Dark visor screen works good when it's down but makes noise at higher speed if you have it lifted. I don't ride without earplugs. Styling is superb. If it matters, I get a lot of compliments. Interior is very luxurious and has by far best feel from any helmet I use. There is only one pressure point on my forehead that feels uncomfortable after about an hour. Other than that very good fit. If you like lots of Air in your face this is your helmet. If you ride in cold days like I do, make a pass or use this as a second helmet. September 17, 2015
You get what you pay for. This helmet is comfortable, if you are going to be wearing a helmet for any extended period of time, most helmets start to have pressure points that will start to bother you, even when properly fitted. This isn't the case here. It is also surprisingly cool due to fantastic venting. If you are more interested in protecting your head than saving a buck I would recommend this helmet to anyone. Fits a great niche So...I researched & tried on all sorts of helmets when it came time to pick up a new bucket to replace an old Shoei. At some point, the options become almost overwhelming. I eventually narrowed my choice down to a handful of manufacturers, all of whom had great reputations for safety. My key criteria, after safety, was flow-through/coolness, wind aerodynamics, & overall comfort. The Defiant ended up making the final cut because it vents so well & because it's terrific at highway speeds. It's also super comfortable. Here are the possible downsides: the styling may not be for everyone. It's a little aggressive and un-Arai-looking, but to each his own. It's also not the quietest helmet out there, but it's not bad. If you're looking for a helmet to keep your melon cool when riding upright-ish & exposed to the wind, aren't willing to compromise on safety & aren't super budget restricted, make sure to try a Defiant. It's the One i had ordered and shipped 7 other helmets and the this the final try was the one and by far better fit and function than all the others. Thanks RevZilla for your great shipping and return policy. July 6, 2015
Great helmet I bought the helmet based on Arai's reputation for safety and their design of this helmet for naked/minimally faired bikes. Watch the video to see just how much technology is in this helmet. It is well worth the price. August 19, 2015
I am happy! This helmet has everything I wanted. Safety, looks, features. I ride daily to work and am enjoying a more quiter ride with almost zero head shake. Some of that can also be attributed to the PUIG windscreen I also installed. I let my wife wear it once and she likes it too. August 16, 2015
Great Style, Great Protection Having owned other Arai helmets, I liked the styling and pro-shade features of the Defiant so I decided to purchase and I was not disappointed. This helmet fits very similar to the Signet Q and is very quiet on the road. The looks are killer. As Anthony mentions in his video, although the helmet is finished in mat colors, there is a hint of metallic in the finish to add more pop to the overall look. The Pro-shade works great but isn't a very dark tint and I like to wear my sunglasses under the shade on bright sunny days. The shade coverage is adequate but could drop a bit further down the mask. Overall, this is a high end, high quality helmet that is very comfortable and quiet. August 10, 2015

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
James W: Safety. Arai has a great reputation, and I wanted to see for myself if they lived up to the hype.

Time will tell as I have not used the helmet yet.

A shopper asked: Was wondering if the shield from the Arai Defiant would also fit the Arai Defiant Pro? I like the features of the Pro, and I know it has the flip down sun shade, but would like the option of a darker or even mirrored shield. Thanks Mike, NC Mar 29, 2015

Chris H asked: Is the Pro-Cruise helmet going to be available in any other colors (i.e. white) anytime soon? Also, could the cheek pads from a regular Defiant be replaced with those from the Pro-Cruise to accommodate a speaker system? Dec 27, 2014

A shopper asked: Can the ProShade System be removed if one doesn't like it? To make it look like a regular Defiant. Jul 6, 2015

Cameron W: Yes, the Pro Shade can be removed very easily. I would suggest it's worth buying the Pro Cruise version of the helmet to try the shade out- I would bet you'll end up liking it- but if you don't you can remove it and you will still have the Arai Defiant helmet with PinLock which is a fantastic helmet and you'll only be out a few bucks- still less money than if you'd bought the helmet, the PinLock insert, and the ProShade separately. Dan D: I haven't removed or wanted too. I am guessing you could but, if you don't like it I would suggest selling it and getting a regular shield. I found this article that explains cleaning the shield www webbikeworld com/r5/arai-pro-shade-review/. Jul 6, 2015

Kwame F asked: Hey guys, does the face shield LOCK? Jan 27, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
alexander d: Are you asking about the clear shield or the shade part above? Are you asking if it(either one) locks in the closed or open position? Jan 27, 2015
Reply to alexander Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Kwame F: Thanks for the response, I really meant the clear shield locking in the down position. Jan 27, 2015
alexander d: Technically, it does lock with a little click by a little plastic teardrop on the left side bottom of the clear piece. To lift the shield you have to kind of pop and pull out this little piece. Additionally, you can slide this little piece forward to be able to lock the shield in a slightly cracked position in order to get a little more air inside(not that you need it since it vents better than any helmet I've ever had). Jan 27, 2015
Kwame F: Thanks again, yeah my current helmet's shield doesn't lock and at faster speeds it tends to crack open and let in a gust of air into your eyes. Im looking for something that locks down so this sounds like a candidate. Jan 27, 2015
Chris H: Locks in the upright position Jan 28, 2015
