Amazing - one thing This jacket is extremely stylish, comfortable even with protection padding integrated into it, and is all around excellent with all the necessary small features a good jacket should have. The only thing I don't like, which is the case with many jackets, is that you have to buy extra chest and back protection pads separately so keep that in mind when looking at the price. June 22, 2015
good three season jacket originally ordered a small , i put one arm in and knew it wasnt my size (so i recommend going one size up) the strap on the sleeve that holds the inner liner was cheap and was unwoven right out the box (not that it matters once your wearing it) besides that its a good jacket lets plenty of airflow in , id deff recommend May 24, 2015
Great jacket!! I was very pleased when this jacket finally came in the mail! Seems durable enough so far... Let's not test it out. Minnesota can get cold and this thing does a pretty good job. I've only worn it in early spring so far. But there have been days when it's 40 degrees and I've stayed relatively warm. And that was without the extra liner inside! The only negative thing I would say is that the jacket I received was not the same one from the picture. I ordered the black one and recieved a black jacket with the white Alpinestar trim. I'm not even mad. It looks super good! Is say go a size up them what you usually wear, seams to fit just right. May 8, 2015
Great jacket (with one small exception) Let me start by saying this is a fantastic jacket. Styling is on point, zippers are solid, padding is where it should be. I've ridden 45 minutes in 40 degree weather at freeway speeds with nothing but a T-shirt on under this jacket and only got a little chilly. As with most A* jackets it runs a bit small. I am 5'7" 150, usually wear small jackets, but had to go with a medium for this one. Haven't had a chance to test the water proof capabilities luckily. Now for my issue: the collar. It is very tight in the throat area if you have a neck thicker than a toothpick. It feels like I am being choked out by a weak dude when I have it zipped all the way up. I'm sure there is a reason for this but, I'm not a fan. Overall, though, it is a minor complaint and definitely would not keep me from buying the jacket again. February 9, 2015
i love it i wanted to wait till it rained to review this jacket so here's what i found. I love it! Plain and simple this jacket works as advertised. This is not a 4 season jacket. Its for a light to heavy rain and 35 temp. In Wa we ride all year round so we see our good deal of cloudy heavy rain to light rain days. i rode for about an hour on the freeway and not a drop of rain got through. I got the 2x size and it fits me perfectly (5 11 230 pound) i also got the upgraded Nucleon back protector and bionic chest pads it fits me tight like it should this way i have no excess air coming down the neck. The shoulder and forearm pads are exactly were they should be and don't move around at all. I love the collar it has 2 positions one fully closed and the other is a tuck fold inside when your walking around and have the jacket open, this way the Velcro wont scratch you. The forearm zippers are quite large and allows you to tuck your rain gloves under the jacket as we should so the rain cant get in the gloves and the zippers lock every time and don't move. Now the zipper in front or down the chest has had some needed work for the rain , i just use Nixx wax on the material behind it and no rain has not gotten through it. The liner is full sleeve and zips out as needed for the weather. I bought this jacket for the 30 to 40 degree morning rides in Wa so i haven't yet ridden it in the summer so i cant attest to the venting on this yet but up here in the Pac west its always humid and sometimes muggy i haven't been uncomfortable yet in all the 3 months our rain season has been here. The other nice feature is the full zipp for the drystar pants witch work real well for rain weather. All in all i love this thing. For those of you looking for the do it all 4 season jacket this might come close to your needs but if your looking for a cool look and a good light weight wind prove rain jacket this will do you well January 6, 2015
TP Jaws for Cool Weather Riding I purchased this jacket in preparation for the cooler winter months in Florida and found this jacket to be extremely useable and breathable even during the daytime highs around 80°. Like all A*'s, it's best to go one size larger; the size chart is spot on for finding the right fit--for me, it's more important to get the chest size most accurate because arm movement is more important that sleeve length. This jacket comes with CE inserts for the back, chest, shoulder and elbow--upgrades are available and advisable, at least for back plate. October 30, 2014
Great Bang for the Buck Jacket - Runs Small This jacket is a great buy for the price, especially considering it is waterproof and has a full removable thermal liner. The jacket is also very lightweight, much lighter than my summer mesh jacket, which I thought to be odd, but nice. My summer jacket is covered with lots of non-CE foam inside, so that could explain things. This jacket does not have much going for it as far as protection - it just has the basics. Shoulder pads, elbow pads, back thing, and an abrasion resistant material. There's a few spots of non-CE foam to help you out, but they aren't much. This jacket will protect you and hopefully keeping you from breaking a bone in a crash, but it may leave you with some bruises. The reflective striping on the back is fantastic and really lights up though, so hopefully that will prevent you from going down :) The first day I owned it I commuted in heavy fog in just below 50 degrees F, and the jacket worked very well. No moisture got inside, and I was very comfortable, even though I only had a long sleeve T-shirt on underneath. It kept me warm, kept the wind away, and kept me dry. Great Fall/Spring and Southern Winters jacket. I wouldn't go too far below freezing with it, though. Also, the jacket runs small. I'm 6'1 and 190 pounds, with a 6'4 arm span and the large just baaarely does the trick. If I really wanted to layer up underneath, I would need the XL. The large is snug, but not too bad that I can't squeeze a hoodie underneath it or something. One last thing that's me nit picking - the jacket hanging loop inside broke off the very first time I tried to hang the thing on a coat rack. Nothing major, just a huge pain in my butt, because all of my jackets live on coat racks when they aren't in use, whether it's at home or work. October 17, 2014
Good quality and style Pros: Jacket looks great offers some airflow great for those cooler days, usable on hot days quality is excellent, as to be expected from alpinestars Cons: The only downside is this jacket can get pretty toasty on hot days (90F+). Vents on the shoulders don't really offer that much airflow. September 11, 2014

kahlil o asked: HI,

I recently purchased a A* Megaton Drystar in a Large and the collar is just too tight around my neck when zipped all the way up. Other then that sizing is correct. Does the T-Jaws have a more comfortable collar then the Megaton?

Cheers
Kahlil

A shopper asked: I am just wondering if the thermal liner in this jacket is interchangeable with my Jaws leather jacket? Jun 22, 2015

Shane F: I am interested in an answer to this also. My Jaws jacket has a sleeveless thermal liner, so it would be great to use a full-sleeved liner in my Jaws jacket, and to use the sleeveless liner in this jacket depending on weather conditions. Jun 24, 2015

A shopper asked: There seems to be 2015 variant of this lovely jacket. Before i get it, would some know what the difference is with the 2014 version? Oct 18, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Robin G: The only difference between 2014 and 2015 is logo color on the black one. 2014 it's grey vs 2015 it's white. The 2015 black jacket have the same look of the t-jaws air in black. Oct 18, 2014

A shopper asked: How is the jacket with blocking wind? Oct 1, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Lee T: The jacket is great for blocking wind; ideal for cold or wet weather, not recommend for warm weather. There are vents where your collar bones are but they really don't bring in much air. Oct 1, 2014

grant l: Hi. Generally it's great. There is a bit of a lack of coverage under the zipper, despite the wind flap, and the neck is a bit large for me despite the rest of the jacket fitting really well, but a neck warmer and fleece solve all that. Great jacket in the wet too. Oct 5, 2014

A shopper asked: Which Alpinestars pants would you recommend to go with this jacket? May 9, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Tim D: If you're looking for some spring/summer/early fall pants, I would go with the Alpinestars Oxygen Air Overpants. They have the rear zipper to connect to the jacket (if necessary) and fit well as an overpant (I wear them over shorts in the summer).

The jacket is great, but beware that if you get one with white, that it will get "fuzzy" and need to be shaved regularly.

Jonathan P: The Alpinestars AST-1 WP Pants goes perfectly with this. It zips up to each other very nicely. The only thing I don't like about the pants is that if you're shorter then the knee pads would be more like shin pads, I can't seem to find a way to adjust their height. But other than that it works great. May 9, 2014

A shopper asked: This is super comfortable jacket but, i need some recommendation for how to clean white parts on it.Help? Jun 18, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kiran G: Take a wet cloth, dip it in detergent and wipe it. That's what I do and I usually do it one in 6 months as I don't care too much about cleaning the white part of it as I think it's alright if it's a bit dirty. I know it won't get in since its waterproof jacket. Hope this helps. Jun 18, 2015

me t asked: Wanting to ship one to New Zealand so need to get sizing right. I tried the T Jaws Air in store in a large and it felt a little too small in the arms, so but measuring me gives me a 67cm arm but 98cm chest, so thats between a medium and 2xl! Thinking I should go with XL? I'm 5'10 180lbs. Looking to stretch this to a 4 season if I can in NZ for daily motorway/freeway commuting as my current textile is a full on touring jackets so too heavy, but will be pairing with some Revit Tornado Pants. Kiran G: XL should be the right fit as I am 5'11" and 182lbs and wear an XL size Jacket. Also, it's completely WP and also is good for riding in winter with temps as low as 30F. Of course with a couple of layers inside i.e. undershirt and a t/shirt. Feb 10, 2015

Thanks

Jeff C: Would the waterproof liner help keep you warmer than the liner in the t gp pro? May 4, 2014
Steven B: You cannot underestimate the importance of staying dry. If you live in Seattle like me you never know when it will rain. Honestly though I can't say if the other jacket would be warmer or not. May 4, 2014
Jong Woo P asked: does this jacket have better air flow than T-GP-R Air jacket?
which jacket has the best air flow among Alpinestars product rather than Vernona air?
basically I'm looking for a summer mesh jacket that has better ventilation than T-GP-R Air for above 90+ degree
I would like to have the superb air flow that Verona air has, but it comes in black only which is heat magnet especially during hot summer days in southern cal. I'm also looking into Icon Anthem Mesh jacket
help me out to find the right product please

Martin O: well this is my first riding jacket i only been riding for a short period of time,so i really don't know about all the other jacket you are asking me about, but i can tell you that this jacket is NOT for summer i live in Houston Texas and a few weeks ago we had some warm days and i was feeling it while riding.
Don't get me wrong i love this jacket is awesome, but i think i'm going to need to look for something with more ventilation for the summer.
i think i might go with the REV'IT Airwave jacket for summer riding.
So to sum it up this is more of a 3 season jacket and that's kind of pushing it.
other than that it has great looks is well made.
i hope this helps and let me know what you think of the re'it since i will be looking for a summer jacket my self not too long from now .

Steven S: Hey Martin, came here to find out if this would work in a Texas winter. The winter mornings in Central TX are usually 30-40 degrees, and often wet. I currently have a summer jacket that I have to pair with a hoodie, and a thermal, and would like to be able to eliminate those extra layers. Think this would do the trick? Aug 4, 2014
Joel B: Sorry Jong, haven't tried any other jacket (I'm new to the sport riding crowd). Would say that this jacket is definitely not good for hot SoCal weather though. I would recommend getting something with lots of air flow without the rain liner (which makes things a lot warmer). Mar 6, 2014
Reply to Joel Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Steven H: The Alpinestars T-Jaws WP jacket is more breathable than leather but doesn't provide airflow like a mesh jacket. I wouldn't recommend the Alpinestars T-Jaws WP for 90+ degree weather. Mar 6, 2014

A shopper asked: IS IT A GOOD JACKET ON HOT SUMMER? Nov 19, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
Tim L: Not too bad, if you ride past 20 miles per hour its fine on a hot day with the thermal liner removed.. if your going to be sitting in a parking lot hanging out on a 95° day I'd go for something lighter in weight. Dec 23, 2013

alexis c: lol, this is a cool, cold weather jacket . I went out the other day and morning weather it was fine at 60 deg , later during the day temps went up to 70 was it felt like it was 95 .The water proof liner will not flow any air into the jacket , not good in summer weather but great for the cold breeze .
