Beating the summertime heat Stylish and great for heat protection. I have various textiles and a leather but reaching 100 degrees this summer was killing me. Inside liner is great for rain or adding wind protection if needed as well as the waterproof pocket being useful. To point out some flaws. Forearm area can be a little loose compared to chest size. Wearing a Large due to chest size compared to height (5'7'' at 180 solid (lifter build)). The stomach cinches could be be tighter as well. To that, they fixed those items in the newer version however, I was not a fan of the hard should pads which give the jacket a less casual look. Using mid-gauntlet gloves fine. The AS SMX air works great as well July 27, 2015
Great summer jacket This jacket is a great summer jacket. Let's a lot of air through. The elbow pads extend also protect some of your forearm witch is nice. It is comfortable and I would recommend the jacket. The only problems I have are, had to buy the extra back protector because it doesn't come with one and the sleeves don't have zippers at the end so it can be hard to get your hands out if you have big hands. July 22, 2015
excellent choice for the warm summer bought this jacket after checking a lot of jackets online here and on other sites. let me first start with my mistake, listen to the people who say this is an american fit... i've measured my self and studied the fitment on the alpinestars site, found myself in the middle of L-XL due to my long arms. decided to go with XL which wasnt my best move of the year. the jacket size is big, lots of room, long sleeves and broad shoulders. so if you're like me, i recommend to go with the smaller fit. other than that, it feels great and durable, flows tons of air, and has a really cool look. even my wife loves it. July 3, 2015
good! Great protection in the needed areas, comfortable,. April 6, 2015
very surprised by the fit and finsh First piece of clothing I ever purchased online. Knowing that I could have exchanged the jacket, I tripled check my measurements and went for it. The T-jaws air fits like a glove. I love it. I ordered a MD for my European build of 5'6" and 160lb. I rode it on a 65F weather and will not wear it on any colder days than that with the liner in it, but that's me, I love warmth. During that ride, I could feel the air hitting around the liner and can tell it will be a nice vented jacket without the liner, as I already have experience with mesh jackets. Solid built, comfortable and perfect dimensions. March 12, 2015
2 season jacket for winter FTW?!? Everyone knows this is a good hot weather jacket, so my review will focus on a somewhat colder weather review. I evaluated this jacket February 10, 2015 between 9pm and 11pm in northern california with the temp varying from 49 to 46 degrees. *** Keep in mind, the bike I was riding was a 2015 BMW R1200RT (total wind protection and heated everything). I wore a single long sleeve t-shirt and rode with the liner in and out. I was completely comfortable, and I estimate I would continue to be, all the way down to 37 degrees. I think that’s mostly due to the bike though. The removable liner really does work well at keeping the chilled wind out, but I was happy either way. I think it might even work in the rain with a separate light rain gear type jacket over it. As far as quality, fit, and finish goes it looks pretty good. I got the black version. I wasn’t too stoked about the SEVEN astars logos in bright white stitching so I went to work with a black sharpie and now it looks like the waterproof T-jaws with gray stitching (see photo). Overall I’m completely satisfied with this product. MSRP of $270 for a 2 season jacket is kinda steep, but for my location and bike I’ll be wearing it year round. I want to thank Antney for the nice video review and the previous RZ customers who wrote reviews before this one that helped me make this informed purchase. Booyah! February 11, 2015
Excellent Jacket Amazing jacket! Fits perfectly to my needs and it's really protective when combined with a back protector. October 22, 2014
Great ventilation The good I like the style and comfort of this jacket. I live in Florida and this jacket is perfect for hot weather. You can feel the cool air when riding with this jacket. The not so good. The jacket doesn't fit snugly and maybe a little too loose around the shoulder and elbow areas. It doesn't make me feel 100% protected like my Scorpion jacket did. October 6, 2014

Paul G: I have had an Alpine Stars textile jacket for several years and it has been excellent. Great style, great quality and fit. I also have SMX-1 A* boots and gloves and its all great gear.

I live in HK and need a good quality air mesh jacket, so A* is my first choice and the extensive info and team at Revzilla helped me confirm that this T-Jaws air jacket flows the most amount of air and I can upgrade the chest armour in it. 100% humidity and very sticky here in Hong Kong in the summer!

Stefan D: I needed a jacket that was better suited for the summer. I've been sweating too much, attempting to persist with my current jacket (it's a 2-3 waterproof cold season jacket - aka WAY to hot for anything above 70ºF) Jul 29, 2014
Cristino M: This jacket fit perfect. Didn't do my research on this jacket will purchase again soon. Returned for a different jacket with more temperature ranges. Jul 16, 2014

Samuel P: Sport cut, for hot weather, air jacket, not too many "alpinestars" logos on the back, and the video review tells the rest. Love Revzilla! Apr 3, 2014
A S asked: How does this compare to the leather Jaws jacket?

Will I still get the same level of protection - It appears that the fit seems to be a little looser on this textile version, is this correct?

A shopper asked: Hi,

I'm looking for a jacket to replace my leather for hot summer days in Australia, what would be the best jacket for keeping cool the T-Jaws Air or something like the T-GP-R air Jacket?
Having an inner liner is not a priority to me because I would just switch to a leather.

Thanks

Yannick D: Hi there,
I don't have any complaint for this jacket. Great in London's summer and early fall you can really stretch it through fall depending on your cold tolerance.

James K: I'm 5'10 and I have this jacket in a size L, it's almost too short for my taste so I doubt that this will be long enough for you. May 7, 2015

Anthony B: Thus jacket is short. It's a sports cut. I am 6'0" and wear a Medium. It's snug and rides higher than my belt. May 8, 2015

John M: Hi Mario, I'm usually a 2XL but with this jacket I found that a 3XL fit perfect. I would choose one size bigger than you normally wear. Dec 4, 2014

Mario Vitor B: Thanks for answering John. This would be my first jacket. So I am just wondering witch one would be good for me. My daily clothes are usually S and sometimes its M. I am from Brazil and I will be in US for 10 days - I have no room for error. Tough decision. Dec 4, 2014
Cristino M: Hey Mario!
This is a great jacket you will love it. I have a 47" chest and athletic build and purchased an XXL and it fits me perfect. The XL is too small for me. Ride safe.

Jonathon H asked: I can't decide between this and the T-Jaw WP jacket. From what I understand, the WP version would be too toasty for an Atlanta summer. That's why I want the air but how cold could I comfortably wear the Air? Would putting on a hoodie and north face do the trick? I'd like to ride well down into the upper 30s. Jun 8, 2015

Michael G: First, great jacket, you won't be disappointed.

I live in central Iowa where it gets stupid hot n' muggy in July & August. I rode several times with temp index's over a hundred and thanked myself every time for not going with the WP.

I rode until we hit the lower 40's. With the inner liner that comes with the jacket and a heavy sweatshirt, the ride was cool, but bearable.

James F: Down into the upper 30's may be a bit ambitious. I can generally still feel a little bit of air through the liner so it's definitely not Gore-tex (which is what I wear when it's in the 30's) caliber. For me I switch over to this jacket around when it's over 50 degrees. Jun 8, 2015

Darren P: In my opinion, this jacket is for warm weather only.... Below about 65, for me. It starts getting too chilly and I switch to leather. Layering is good, but it's so form fitting I could never wear a hoodie under it. Jun 8, 2015

A shopper asked: I am looking for a jacket that gives great air flow during summer and has a linner which will be waterproof during light-medium rains. I know the T-Jaws WP is better for rainy season but not sure if the T-Jaws WP is good for summer? so looking a best fit between what T-Jaws Air and T-Jaws WP offers Jun 30, 2014

Dennis J: I bought the T-Jaw air specifacally for warm-weather riding. I cannot speak to how well the liner works but I imagine in a light rain or short period it would work well. I can attest to how great it works on 85 degree asphalt weather. Ride today, great cooling. Jun 30, 2014

A shopper asked: Does this jacket work with the Bionic Armor Chest inserts? The description says it works with the Bionic Armor Back Protector insert but there is no mention of the chest inserts. The leather version says it is compatible with the chest inserts and many other jackets at the same price range support the chest inserts also eg. T-GP-R, T-GP Pro/Pro Air etc. Does the T-Jaws Air have pockets for the Bionic Armor Chest inserts? Apr 16, 2014
