Protection, style, quality and comfort Received the jacket today from Revzilla. I was immediately impressed as I unpacked it. I chose the black/red/white color combo and it looks awesome. My initial concern was the size of the interior waterproof pocket but it easily fits my iPhone 6 plus in its Pad & Quill luxury wallet case which is fairly thick and the pocket had room to spare. The outer pockets were roomy as well. As far as fit goes, I am 5'7" 130lbs and on the slender side frame wise. After watching the videos, reading other reviews and speaking to a gear geek I opted for the medium. I also ordered the bionic armor chest pads and back protection insert to go with it. With the additional protection installed the jacket fit nice and snug in the chest and back area, had room in the waist to breath and was able to cinch it down with the side adjusters. The arms were a good length. The jacket does seem to run a bit small, but it is meant to be an aggressive sport rider cut and therefore should be snug. The jacket is light, even with the added armor. The removable liner is easy to zip in and out. The back armor goes in easily. The chest protectors seemed to want to slide around a bit at first until they settled in. The wrist closures seem to have a little excess material but nothing too bad. My only initial complaint is at the neck collar area. The material seems like it might chafe my neck. I'll follow up this review after a few rides with updates. Overall, you can't go wrong with this jacket. The protection it provides along with the style and fit make it a must have. Not to mention the Alpinestars name. I was considering the T-Jaws Air as well, but went with this one due to the color combo. November 11, 2014
Great Jacket. I am 5'9" 145 lbs and the medium fits me perfectly. I have had a hard time finding jackets that fit. Most are to loose around the arms, chest, and especially gut for me. The air flow is good and it is conformable with the added back armor. The two problems are for riding in Texas there is more black in the jacket then I like and the zipper is small. It is nearly impossible to zip with my gloves on. I would prefer to have seen a heavy duty zipper for a motorcycle jacket. August 15, 2014
decent jacket for summer The zipper is on the wrong side of an America man's jacket. Other than that I like this jacket. June 21, 2014
Great Summer Jacket, Athletic Fit I have a nice Joe Rocket mesh jacket. It's built for typical Americans and there's way too much room in the jacket around the belly. So I wanted a nice summer jacket that fits an athletic build. I tried on some Alpine Stars at the dealer and the fit was great so I ordered this one in red / black from Revzilla. The jacket is great, fit is snug and doesn't flap around. Ventilation is not as good as my old jacket but that's probably because the old one fit too loose. The Alpine Stars feels much better and the material seems sturdier. My only complaint would be the wrists. On my old jacket there's a velcro adjustment with a zipper and snap. On the Alpine Stars there is a velcro strap to tighten the fit around the wrist if needed but it's kinda bulky. Fortunately I don't need to make it any tighter. I love the pockets and storage. The waterproof storage will definitely come in handy in the Florida summer rainy season at some point to save my phone, ha ha. For the price it would have been nice if it came with the rated back protector but it's not the end of the world. I'll probably buy the back protector at some point for the added piece of mind. Excellent Jacket This jacket is amazing, the way it fits, feels and looks. The picture doesn't do it justice. My only gripe is I wish it had more reflective material to make it safer for night time riding. Also, if they had a liner that was thicker for winter riding even if it was optional it would be very welcomed. This way we don't have to invest in a winter jacket. Lastly, for what you get compared to other jacket brands this jacket is overpriced. I think you're paying for the look and brand name, but if you want to look cool and look good...this is it. Overall great jacket and I highly recommend it. May 28, 2014
Nice Jacket, price a bit steep This is my third mesh A-Stars jacket, a couple of new features, but mostly the same as other models so price increase seems a bit much. The primary upgrade is the stretch panels above the elbows, previous models can be very tight when bending elbows. Textile does not stretch like leather and I have had very tight feeling when curling arms on other models. The other upgrade is the use of zippers at the wrists, but seems unnecessary. Perhaps there are more embroidered stars which rounds out the upgrades. But, I feel this jacket should be more like $260 instead of $300 given that it is mostly the same textile and armor as other models. I thought this model was going to represent a stronger more race oriented offering when I saw the stretch panels and wrist zippers, well the fit is definitely more race tight, but the construction actually seems weaker. The mesh is extensive and makes me a bit nervous on whether it would just shred on the smallest get off. But, I will put my faith in the A-stars engineers that this jacket would protect me for at least one crash, hopefully I never have to find out. This model has good looks, fit, comfort and air-flow, so I am happy with it, but I still think it should be about $40 cheaper. May 22, 2014
No Brainer I like to ride is 3 out of 4 seasons. This jacket covers all the bases, a great deal and the zip out liner works really well against wind. The stock pads give a peace of mind when riding harder than average. I throw on a short sleeve moisture wicking shirt and you're sure to stay cool and dry even in higher temps. Order one size larger than American sizes though, I'm 6'0" 175 and generally wear medium but for this a Large was needed, plus it added more sleeve length which was good. April 28, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Ben R: I purchased this item because of the seemingly good reviews and the video revzilla has for this item. These videos are pretty detailed and very well done, and has helped me tremendously on deciding which jacket to buy. Jan 23, 2015
Daniel H: I was in need of a good summer jacket. Frequently getting days over 40°c here in Australia, a mesh jacket with good ventilation is a must have. Nov 9, 2014
David F: Great protection, awesome styling, good airflow. Quality product. Tough decision between T-Jaws air and T-GP R Air plus. Ruled out the latter due to not having a removable liner. Such minimal differences between the Jaws and this jacket I went with the white/red/black version due to my belief that it will be higher visibility and a bit cooler than the predominantly black and red of the jaws. I know I couldn't go wrong with either selection. Bought the bionic back and chest protectors too. Nov 1, 2014
Richard B: I wanted a nice, textile, jacket and this one is great! Alpinestars fits my build (athletic) better than my previous jacket which was designed more for the beer belly in mind, ha ha. Jul 3, 2014
Ben C: Lighter jacket for summer. May 13, 2014
Terrace B: Its a upgrade for me, from my A* T-GP R Air. Also, I wanted something with the high-vis yellow in it, to match my bike ;-).

It also helped, that it was mostly white, which I hope doesn't cook as much as the all black did.

A shopper asked: Im 67.5 inch tall, with 24 inch arm length, 31 inch waist and 42 inch chest. The L seems the perfect fit except the waist size is a 34 inch on the size chart. Is that going to be an issue? Aug 11, 2014

Karl H: My waist is 30. I bought the medium and I am happy with the fit although the sleeves could be an inch longer. As the waist has very nice straps if you were wearing anything else but a T-shirt underneath I would go with the large. Aug 11, 2014

Gerald B: That should be fine, it tapers tight at the waist. It also has two snaps to make it tighter if needed. With your arm leight and chest size I would stay with the large. Aug 11, 2014

RENE S: I don't think so because it has a tab on the waistline to adjust it. I love my jacket so far it lets in lots of air to cool you while you ride and it makes me feel safe with the protection it has. I don't even dare ride without it on. It also has a waterproof pocket inside so you cell doesn't get damaged if you get caught in the rain. Did I mention it makes you look badass, lol Aug 11, 2014

Steve H asked: Which jacket flows more air: Alpinestars T-GP Pro Air or Alpinestars T-GP Plus R Air Jacket?

Also, I've tried on the t-gp PLUS air, the L fits great but the XL allows just enough more comfort room in-case a guy wants to add a sweatshirt underneath or a real back protector. Do these two jacket models fit the same?
Thank you.

Steve H: I ended up returning the plus and getting the Pro in large. I added an additional ce AStar back protector. Jacket fits fine but no hoodie underneath. Flows more air because chest has vent holes that Plus did not.
Negatives: jacket could be longer in tail, velcro cufflinks are way to short, zippers seem small and zips on wrong side for us Americans.
Positive: fit otherwise is nice and tight with nothing flapping, sleeve length spot on, love the little chest padding for leaning over tank, color options are better with Pro MHO, Alpine star quality.

Gerald B: I feel the T-GP Pro flows more air than the T-GP Plus. I find the Pro comfortable down to around 50 degrees with the liner. If you plan on riding below that I would suggest the XL, for a sweatshirt. Both jackets fit very similar, so you may want the XL in the T-GP Plus as you said if you want back protection, or an extra layer. Hope this helped! Sep 28, 2014

David A: I had no issues with my size L and was able to get the back protection with no lack of room to move. I'm 5 11" 215lbs athletic build. Sep 28, 2014

William L B: Alpinestars with your given sizes... XL for best fit after upgraded back and chest. Feb 3, 2015

A shopper asked: Based on the size chart a 56 euro would be my size but I don't see it as a choice. Is it offered in this size? 6'2"/210lbs 44 chest 36 waist Jan 30, 2015

William L B: Great choice in jacket, flows good amount of air without sacrificing protection IMO. Given your height and weight...I would go with the XL after considering upgraded back and chest armour, also the length of your arms. Neat fit but comfortable. Feb 3, 2015
