No Brainer
I like to ride is 3 out of 4 seasons. This jacket covers all the bases, a great deal and the zip out liner works really well against wind. The stock pads give a peace of mind when riding harder than average. I throw on a short sleeve moisture wicking shirt and you're sure to stay cool and dry even in higher temps. Order one size larger than American sizes though, I'm 6'0" 175 and generally wear medium but for this a Large was needed, plus it added more sleeve length which was good.

Great Jacket
Had this jacket for about 2 months now and I love it. Super comfortable, good air flow, plenty of storage place. One thing I would like to see is a cutout for headphonesale but that's not big deal.

I dumped my bike doing about 80 MPH on the highway 4 days ago and my upper body is fine. The armor in the jacket held up wonderfully and really saved my upper body. I have no idea how I'm not dead right now cause my bike is destroyed beyond belief, both my feet are broken, and my right foot/leg has stitches and needs surgery. The jacket ripped in the middle of everything but it still protected me. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone and everyone.

Protection, style, quality and comfort
Received the jacket today from Revzilla. I was immediately impressed as I unpacked it. I chose the black/red/white color combo and it looks awesome. My initial concern was the size of the interior waterproof pocket but it easily fits my iPhone 6 plus in its Pad & Quill luxury wallet case which is fairly thick and the pocket had room to spare. The outer pockets were roomy as well.
As far as fit goes, I am 5'7" 130lbs and on the slender side frame wise. After watching the videos, reading other reviews and speaking to a gear geek I opted for the medium. I also ordered the bionic armor chest pads and back protection insert to go with it. With the additional protection installed the jacket fit nice and snug in the chest and back area, had room in the waist to breath and was able to cinch it down with the side adjusters. The arms were a good length. The jacket does seem to run a bit small, but it is meant to be an aggressive sport rider cut and therefore should be snug.
The jacket is light, even with the added armor. The removable liner is easy to zip in and out. The back armor goes in easily. The chest protectors seemed to want to slide around a bit at first until they settled in.
The wrist closures seem to have a little excess material but nothing too bad. My only initial complaint is at the neck collar area. The material seems like it might chafe my neck. I'll follow up this review after a few rides with updates.
Overall, you can't go wrong with this jacket. The protection it provides along with the style and fit make it a must have. Not to mention the Alpinestars name.
I was considering the T-Jaws Air as well, but went with this one due to the color combo.

Awesome Jacket
I love this jacket. The only complaint is that the extended tail in the back could be a little longer. This jacket is designed to be in the 3/4 to full tuck position and i feel that it tends to ride a little high while doing so. Other than that, this jacket is great! Being in south central Texas, the summers can be brutally hot and this jacket moves enough air to keep me from baking. It has pockets for a back and chest protector but only comes with some foam inserts as place holders. For the price, i do wish it came with something a little more substantial with at least a CE rating.

Nice Jacket, price a bit steep
This is my third mesh A-Stars jacket, a couple of new features, but mostly the same as other models so price increase seems a bit much. The primary upgrade is the stretch panels above the elbows, previous models can be very tight when bending elbows. Textile does not stretch like leather and I have had very tight feeling when curling arms on other models. The other upgrade is the use of zippers at the wrists, but seems unnecessary. Perhaps there are more embroidered stars which rounds out the upgrades. But, I feel this jacket should be more like $260 instead of $300 given that it is mostly the same textile and armor as other models.

I thought this model was going to represent a stronger more race oriented offering when I saw the stretch panels and wrist zippers, well the fit is definitely more race tight, but the construction actually seems weaker. The mesh is extensive and makes me a bit nervous on whether it would just shred on the smallest get off. But, I will put my faith in the A-stars engineers that this jacket would protect me for at least one crash, hopefully I never have to find out. This model has good looks, fit, comfort and air-flow, so I am happy with it, but I still think it should be about $40 cheaper.

Snug flexible fit with great airflow!
Purchased a Large. I'm 5'11" 185lbs. Fits snug but the flex panels allow for great movement, feels perfect in 3/4 to full tuck. Plenty of airflow for hot summer days. Does get chilly even with the wind breaker left in, but with a thermal layer can be worn comfortably in sub 60 degree weather. I Would highly recommend this jacket to anyone who wants a race inspired textile jacket for the days when a leather version would be too hot. Chose the Black/white/yellow version for the visibility, never have an issue with people seeing me.

Good looking and comfortable
This jacket has been awesome so far. My only complaint is that at higher speeds the material on the top of my shoulders flaps a little. I am sure that is just a fit issue with my build. Otherwise this jacket has made me very happy and I love how it looks.

Great Jacket for Warmer Conditions
Live in Washington, D.C. area, bought this jacket to deal with hotter weather (I tend to run pretty hot to start with). Very pleased with this jacket, I've worn it on a trip and while commuting and it's worked great. The air flow is immense and the jacket is light enough that even when you're stopped for a while with a hot bike you won't overheat (at least compared to your buddy in a non-mesh jacket). The liner is nice and compact, I keep it folded in a Ziploc bag under my seat.

I've been comfortable in temperatures ranging from 50 degrees (t-shirt and long sleeved shirt on underneath) up to 80 degrees.

Great Summer Jacket, Athletic Fit
I have a nice Joe Rocket mesh jacket. It's built for typical Americans and there's way too much room in the jacket around the belly. So I wanted a nice summer jacket that fits an athletic build. I tried on some Alpine Stars at the dealer and the fit was great so I ordered this one in red / black from Revzilla.

The jacket is great, fit is snug and doesn't flap around. Ventilation is not as good as my old jacket but that's probably because the old one fit too loose. The Alpine Stars feels much better and the material seems sturdier.

My only complaint would be the wrists. On my old jacket there's a velcro adjustment with a zipper and snap. On the Alpine Stars there is a velcro strap to tighten the fit around the wrist if needed but it's kinda bulky. Fortunately I don't need to make it any tighter.

I love the pockets and storage. The waterproof storage will definitely come in handy in the Florida summer rainy season at some point to save my phone, ha ha.

For the price it would have been nice if it came with the rated back protector but it's not the end of the world. I'll probably buy the back protector at some point for the added piece of mind.

I purchased this item because of the seemingly good reviews and the video revzilla has for this item. These videos are pretty detailed and very well done, and has helped me tremendously on deciding which jacket to buy.

I was in need of a good summer jacket. Frequently getting days over 40°c here in Australia, a mesh jacket with good ventilation is a must have.
Daniel H on Nov 9, 2014
Great protection, awesome styling, good airflow. Quality product. Tough decision between T-Jaws air and T-GP R Air plus. Ruled out the latter due to not having a removable liner. Such minimal differences between the Jaws and this jacket I went with the white/red/black version due to my belief that it will be higher visibility and a bit cooler than the predominantly black and red of the jaws. I know I couldn't go wrong with either selection. Bought the bionic back and chest protectors too.
David F on Nov 1, 2014
I wanted a nice, textile, jacket and this one is great! Alpinestars fits my build (athletic) better than my previous jacket which was designed more for the beer belly in mind, ha ha.

Its a upgrade for me, from my A* T-GP R Air. Also, I wanted something with the high-vis yellow in it, to match my bike ;-).

It also helped, that it was mostly white, which I hope doesn't cook as much as the all black did.

Does this jacket have insert pockets for chest pads/protectors?
A shopper on Feb 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes. All of the protectors that come with the jacket (shoulder, elbow, light back and chest) have velcro openings for removal and insertion. You have to remove them for washing of the jacket. (Hand washing)
Im 67.5 inch tall, with 24 inch arm length, 31 inch waist and 42 inch chest. The L seems the perfect fit except the waist size is a 34 inch on the size chart. Is that going to be an issue?
A shopper on Aug 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: My waist is 30. I bought the medium and I am happy with the fit although the sleeves could be an inch longer. As the waist has very nice straps if you were wearing anything else but a T-shirt underneath I would go with the large.
Can anyone say if the sleeves of the T-GP Pro Air have any venting/mesh components for moving air? Do they move any air at all through them? I have a couple of mesh jackets and the sleeves are always the hottest, even at speed. Thanks in advance!
SeaMonkey on May 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There is venting from the elbow to the shoulder, but not on the forearm. I hate the summer heat in Florida and this jacket does well. Although, I try to get home by noon this time of year!
Is the water/wind proof liner a full size liner or just a vest?
RedlineJDM on Jun 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My size 54 I ordered came with a fully sleeved liner.
Which jacket flows more air: Alpinestars T-GP Pro Air or Alpinestars T-GP Plus R Air Jacket?

Also, I've tried on the t-gp PLUS air, the L fits great but the XL allows just enough more comfort room in-case a guy wants to add a sweatshirt underneath or a real back protector. Do these two jacket models fit the same?
Thank you.
Steve H on Sep 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I ended up returning the plus and getting the Pro in large. I added an additional ce AStar back protector. Jacket fits fine but no hoodie underneath. Flows more air because chest has vent holes that Plus did not.
Negatives: jacket could be longer in tail, velcro cufflinks are way to short, zippers seem small and zips on wrong side for us Americans.
Positive: fit otherwise is nice and tight with nothing flapping, sleeve length spot on, love the little chest padding for leaning over tank, color options are better with Pro MHO, Alpine star quality.
What Chest and back pad protectors do you recommend for the T-GP Pro Air Jacket to replace the foam?
Darren T on Apr 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm using the alpinestars nucleon back and chest protector. Fits nicely. No issues and remains comfortable.
IS THE COLOR STRIPES ON THIS JACKET YELLOW OR NEON GREEN?
A C on Feb 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Jacket I purchased was the Black/Grey/White one.
So the strips were white and grew.
Not sure if this was what you were asking or if you wanted to know what colour the strips are on the Black/White/Yellow jacket.
does the wind breaker makes the cold days that warm?
A shopper on Oct 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: To a point. I would not call it a winter jacket, but it is chilly without the liner below 60 degrees. Depending on how you handle the cold it my very, but I ride with it in the 40's.
What are the differences between this and the T-GP R Air Jacket? And which should i buy?
Brandon N on Apr 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I can't tell you the differences between the two. I can only say that I bought this last month based upon review Revzilla review and I couldn't be happier. Protections is what you'd expect from Alpinestar plus the ventilation is great except for the hottest weather.
IS THE COLOR YELLOW OR NEON GREEN? I HAVE A YELLOW BIKE AND WOULD LOVE TO MACH THE COLOR SOME WHAT?
A C on Feb 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's neon yellow.
