Solid Backpack Got this about 3 months ago, no problem or complaints to date. Haven't had to use the waterproof pullover but bit seems to perform as advertised. Laptop slot is highly valued as it is my commuter bag. Not very technical but will do perfect if you're just in need of a decent riding pack. April 14, 2014
Light and Comfortable I haven't had this back pack for too long so if there are any updates and edit with a comment. The main features I bought this back pack over others were because it was light, not overly huge, it has the straps so I can roll up my jacket for storage and it also has the built in rain poncho to keep everything dry. So far I am very pleased but we will see how long the stitching last because it seems to be very light material. Hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised. April 7, 2014
Great bag for commuting! Ive used this backpack multiple times now to commute around town to work etc. It fits shoes, a pair of jeans in the main pocket no problem and whatever miscellaneous items you may have in the other. The rain hood storage space was cool to see. Its kept in a zipped pocket on the bottom of the bag. I use the chest strap which isn't removable but the waist strap I removed and keep in the pocket with the rain hood. Love the feature to be able to even carry a jacket or something larger around on the straps at the bottom. Its like a good hiking/camping bag with all the features but more compact in size. The only concern I have is the material being pretty thin. I just pay attention to not catch the zipper or go yanking on it. I have no issues with it being this way but I feel its something to treat appropriately. March 10, 2014
Good Backpack I have been using my military bag and it is obviously heavier. i switched to this and it is so light weight. I have read reviews that it lasts a long time but it feels like it would tear easy. Either way i like this backpack a lot and wish it were a bit cheaper. I originally bought it for quick commutes and definitely does its job. February 26, 2014
Awesome Backpack! I have been using this backpack for almost everyday for a year now and it is awesome. It is just the right size for my normal day to day stuff (laptop, books, papers, maybe a spare pair of tennis shoes, etc.). However, the amount of taper at the top of the bag, while making it more comfortable for riding, does hinder the carrying capacity a bit for bulkier items. It's perfect for the lower profile items I described above. The extra straps on the bottom are great when I need to occasionally carry something bulky like a spare helmet, or even rolling up a thicker jacket for nighttime (have even put a sleeping bag in there for camping a couple times). My only real complaint I have with this bag is its lack of the clip on the bottom of one of the shoulder straps that all of the other Alpine Stars bags come with to make it easier to put the bag on over a large jacket. More of an annoyance really than anything else. A little pricey for a smaller bag (18 litters), but well worth it for the well made quality. It's lasted for a year and shows no signs of where or tear (through rain and shine). Overall, I think it's a first class bag that I wouldn't think twice about recommending to a friend or purchasing again. February 10, 2014
Great overall backpack. A tad on the expensive side. Very stylish and definitely catches the eye of those around me. Easy access pockets and love the jacket strap on the bottom. November 25, 2013
Great day pack for the $ I've been using this bag for 6 weeks and it's working out well. I carry a laptop, lunch, and a couple small items for my daily riding commute. The bag is a great price for what you get. It has a padded laptop compartment, vented back and shoulder padding, a water proof rain cover that works well, it is incredibly light weight, low profile for highway riding, and fits well over my A*'s leather jacket. The only negative is that the light weight materials used are very thin, so I am not sure about long term durability or how it would hold up during a fall or slide. So far so good, no complaints. Solid Pack Nice pack, I commute to work w/ this and can fit dress pants and shoes as well as my other minor day-to-day stuff, watch, wallet, etc. Solid feel to the construction, nice zippers, and the built in rain-fly is pretty cool. It's a little pricey, but I found I like to wear it for non-riding scenarios as well. October 2, 2013

A shopper asked: is one of the shoulder straps detachable so putting the pack on over a jacket is not as difficult? Nov 12, 2013

Kevin C: It's not detachable but it can be loosened up quite a bit. I have an Alpinestars Atem jacket and I just adjust one should strap all the way out to put the bag on and then sinch it up after I put it on. Nov 12, 2013

jamieson h: No the straps are attached. That's one of two negatives to this bag. Other is it needs to be a little bit bigger. Other than that it's a great bag I wear to work all the time Nov 12, 2013

Maxx L: No, but you can easily adjust the straps to make them large enough to easily put over a jacket. Nov 12, 2013

A shopper asked: In the previous question you stated it does not have the option to carry a helmet? but in the product info it says "built in helmet and jacket carrier? which is correct? thank you Oct 1, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
JEFFREY G: Its not really designed for a helmet. You could use one of the straps to hook it through a helmet but it seems like it is designed for a jacket. The helmet would dangle from the bottom if you chose to attach it to the back. Oct 1, 2013

Yendis B: At the bottom of the bag it has straps to connect other items. You could roll and attach a jacket no problem, but not a helmet. Oct 2, 2013

A shopper asked: is the helmet carrier just that dongle thing or does it have a cover? Mar 24, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
PandaSlapCat: The helmet just dangles, the pack is just under being big enough to carry a full-size helmet inside. Jun 1, 2013

RevZilla: The "dongle thingy" keeps the rain cover in place. It does not have the option to carry your helmet. Mar 27, 2013
