Be sure of your size.
I bought this because I wanted the extra protection for when I ride. I'm happy with that aspect but my main problem with it is that is is quiet ridged when take it off. So caring it around isn't the easiest thing. kind like caring a boggy board under your arm. I think though if you want the protection by it. Oh yeah. i have a Small Viper Air Jacket. I had to get the Medium size for the back protector.

Great upgrade
I bought this to upgrade my perforated GP-R leather jacket. It was well worth the money, decent airflow with substantially increased back protection. It adds a little more weight, but you do not notice that it is there.

A protector but a good one
If you are planning to buy a good back protector then you should pick this one. Light, vent is good, cant even notice it inside my jacket. Made a good choice with it.

Great back protector
I got one of these back protectors for my AlpineStars jacket and am glad I did. It is very lightweight and it's design flows air freely. I don't notice it at all in my jacket... In fact I stop to check if its there every few times I use my jacket. I highly recommend it as an in-jacket protector. It won't protect you as much as a dedicated back protector with straps and a long tail, but for casual riding it'll do the trick.
Note: I rated it highly for comfort, because it is so comfortable you won't notice it. It's also very fairly priced, so great bang for the buck. Also, it flows a lot of air, so high marks. It's a quality piece of gear, as one would expect from AlpineStars, so high marks again. I also rated it highly for features, but am a bit conflicted about that: it's a back protector. It protects your back and fits in your jacket. Not exactly feature-rich, but what do you expect from a back protector? It doesn't charge my cell phone or make me a latte, and it's rubbish at giving directions, and I can't find a single cup holder... But none of those things would be expected in such an item.

Much more comfortable than other protectors
I put this in my new Viper Air jacket. The amount of air moving through this thing is unreal after coming from a jacket with an Icon Stryker. I don't get that turtle shell feeling and sweat spot. I can barely tell this thing is on my back but it still feels like it gives me a good amount of protection if I ever come off the bike.

These should come standard
The instant I saw the foam padding, I decided to replace it. A*GP Plus Perforated size 48 + medium was my combo and it breathes straight through, front to back. The weight and thickness is just low enough to blend in and disappear while riding and still offers protection(way better than the foam that was just reserving a seat for a new insert).
If you're on the street and need perforated stuff for the coming heat, get this.

A good upgrade
I have this in a GP-R jacket and it's a great addition. It breaths great, adds very little weight to the jacket and I can't even tell its in.

Awesome basic upgrade!
I ordered a large thinking it would fit my size 40 alpine jacket, but it almost fits... It is sleek and not too thick for it to stick out of your back. It is comfortable and feels durable. If you're a size 40 alpine jacket or smaller, definitely get medium. Overall, I definitely recommend!
