The K-3 is near the top end of the AGV entry level range. GP-tech lines and Valentino Rossi replica helmet graphics make this the ideal helmet for young riders and fans of the racing world. The only full-face thermoplastic model in the agv range, the K-3 is the perfect choice for riders in search of a safe, high-quality helmet with attractive design at a modest price.The K-3 design is inspired by the latest AGV developments starting from the Stealth, S-4, and Ti-Tech and continuing with the Blade/Blade LX and GP-Tech that have so clearly and distinctive defined the company’s style. This makes the helmets immediately recognizable and distinguished from all the other proposals on the market. In the same way, the differences with the helmet that the K-3 has replaced are equally evident.

Awesome brain bucket Got the flat black option, it does scratch easily so be careful with it. I normally wear a small in KBC helmets but small in this helmet runs a little snug. Helmet looks great, comfortable, fairly quiet, great field of view, very stable at high speed and airflow is good but nothing special. Another Plus, I got caught in he rain and left the vents open so the shield wouldn't fog and had a dry noggin when I got home. Can't be said for my old helmet, it was either foggy shield or wet cranium. May 16, 2013

Great bang for the buck Helmet is extremely comfortable, great visibility and noise isn't too loud. The chin guard is very flimsy and had tendency to fall off. Does not match the good quality of the rest of the helmet. This is my only gripe with it. Then again, for the price, I really can't complain, it's a great deal. Revzilla rocks as always. K3 by AGV I bought this helmet for my Car, but I do ride bikes and its a very snug well fitting helmet. If u use a 7-7/38" baseball hat, the medium will work, if you have ears that stick out a bit. it will fold the Auricle's down but nothing you cant pull up on the helmet after its on your head and pull back down to unfold your ears. Easy to remove chin piece and inserts incase you want to put it in the laundry after a hot sweaty ride. Basically its a very snug fit withouta lot of movement. I love it. i use it in My 12 GTR when i take it to the TRack..this is my second one. i gave the first one to a Friend in India since it is difficult to get this style there without paying a huge premium April 15, 2013

Great item Bought me a k3 about 2months ago. It runs a bit small. Size chart tells me L but returned it and got me a XL(icon also tells me large but that one gave me a headache, i must have a alien shaped head). Only tight spot was my ears. It pinched them down. Had to trim the foam off a bit in order to fit comfy and plus i have a sena smh10. once shaved it fits perfect and have no complains. March 9, 2013
Thumbs Up!! Great helmet for the $$! Fit is a little tight but seems better each time I wear it. Only disappointment is despite AGV being an Italian Co. this model is made in China. January 1, 2013

Nope. The Domain 2 shipped with only a Clear visor (at least for me). Look for Icon's Proshield product line in order to get a different visor color. I ordered a Reflective Gold to go along with my Red helmet and couldn't be happier with the decision.

As reviews have pointed out, one of the only weaknesses of this Icon helmet line is the somewhat tricky shield-changing process. I have faith that this is because the Proshield is engineered first and foremost to stay on in the event of a crash (sorry to go off on tangent, but it seemed related to your question).

Most AVG helmets, including the K3 and the T-2 will only come with a clear shield. the black/tint shield must be purchased separately.

You are quite right. Most sport helmets are designed for maximum ventilation during an aggressive riding position on a sport bike, especially the higher end models like the AGV T-2 and GP-Tech, Bell Star, and Shoei X11 and X12. I love my T-2 and GP-Tech. However, when I sit up out of a tuck, I do notice a drastic change in air flow at the same speeds. I would highly suggest getting a helmet designed for a sport touring bike that is setup to vent during an upright riding position.
As for noise levels, the T-2 and GP-Tech are somewhat quiet, more so than most sport bike helmets of the same caliber. In comparison with the Bell star it is definitely the quieter lid. However, the Star wins out in the airflow category.
If you really want to stick with a sport bike helmet I would highly suggest either the AGV T-2, AGV GP-Tech, or the Bell Star. All of these will have phenomenal air flow and protection capabilities, Not to mention, they are extraordinarily light; my GP-Tech is under 3 lbs.

I'll try to help you with the AGV GP-Tech since I own one. My bike is a Triumph Speed triple so it's not quite as an upright riding position as yours but, close and I have only a bikini fairing on the bike. First the ventilation is excellent at a 3/4 riding postion. Buffeting at speed is minimal and quite good for head checking. The helmet is reasonably quiet with a generous chin curtain and good cheeck padding. Hope this helps.

The RF-1100 in medium is pretty snugg and comfortable, while an Arai medium would squish my ears. I would like to know if the AGV K3 has a similar shape compared to the RF-1100. Also what size is similar? Thanks!

I don't know for certain in your exact size, but my wife fit into an RF-1100 XS, but finally purchased an AGV K3 in S. The AGV is definately more narrow in shape vs the Shoei... not quite as long as an Arai.

Answer: 
The size and fit of the Shoei and AGV shells is almost identical. Both are more of an oval shape. I have tried on several of the Shoei models and find them to fit very similarly to the AGV's that I own; T-2 and GP-Tech. So, in short, if you wear a medium in the RF-1100, than a medium in the K3 will be just fine.

On another note. If you are considering the K3, I would highly suggest you look into the T-2 line. The T-2 is based on the GP-Tech and is one of the best helmets I have ever owned. I would highly suggest reading my review on them. I have provided a link to the T-2 product page below.

I have both the Shoei RF-1100 and an AGV K3. I wear a small in both. The K3 will "squish your ears" just as an Arai does. Keep in mind the relief that the RF-1100 in the cheek pads where your ears sit in the helmet. That makes the Shoei not pinch or "squish" the ears. The shape of the K3 is similar to the RF-1100. A medium should be your size, however, I would strongly suggest measuring your head if you don't know your size. I know that my head is at 22 inches and this has helped me immensly with choosing the correct fitting size. I wear a small in just about every manufacturer but, I wear a medium in Shark.
