SIDI Vertigo Boots Videos

Sidi Vertigo Boots

The Vertigo was created after an arduous 2+ year development period with lofty goals in mind. The boot had to push the technology of the sport road boot segment to an even higher level than the legendary Vertebra series. They are designed to be the best, no matter the cost. The Vertigo series of boots has achieved all that and much more.

Features:

  • Shock Absorbing Heel Cup: Three stage, shock absorbing heel cup molded in three different densities of plastic is one element that sets the Vertigo series apart from all other sport boots. This system offers a built in shock absorbing range of 3mm. The heel cups internal area is also fully lined with impact resistant thousand-air cell memory foam for and extra level of comfort and protection.
  • Lining: Each Vertigo series boot is lined throughout with lightweight perforated Teflon treated fabric in order to allow moisture to “breath” out to the Lorica outer and dry quickly with no mold build up in the long term. Additionally the inner ankle area of all Vertigo series boots are flly lined with Sidi’s own formula of perforated closed thousand-air cell memory foam. A totally breathable lining system.
  • Tecno VR System: The Vertigo series of boots are the only race boots to offer a patented Tecno VR adjustable calf system designed to accommodate calves of virtually any size in a clean, supportive and protective design. With a simple adjustment of the Tecno knob the internal monofilament line will evenly close and wrap the boot around the riders calf in micro adjustments for a perfect fit. A maximum adjustment of 5cm is provided.
  • Replaceable Scuff Pad: Option of either a ceramic or nylon toe scuff.
  • Air Vent System: Both the Vertigo Corsa and Vertigo employ an air ventilation system that can be opened or closed with a touch of a button depending upon a riders needs. This malleolus guard on the outer edge of each boot also protects the small and vulnerable foot bones.
  • Composite Inner Sole: The composite inner sole of Sidi boots resists side to side compression offering greater protection compared to the leather inner soles that our competitors use. The insole features a removable arch support and will never lose its dynamic characteristics, even after months of intense use; it is water resistant and is designed to withstand high footpeg pressures.
  • Replaceable Parts: Every bolt on component of each Vertigo boot is available separately. Riders can change the various components to replace items that have worn or have been damaged in a crash.
  • Lorica Outer: Boot outer is fully constructed with Lorica a composite micro fiber material created from strands less than one thousandth the thickness of silk. When injected with special resins, these fibers act like natural leather skin, but with the addition of better strength, softer texture, lighter weight and better moisture protection. Lorica is also highly resistant to abrasion – yet it still breathes – with more than three million pores per square centimeter. Easy to maintain, Lorica does not stain and can’t be scratched and offers, reduced weight, more flexibility and more feel than leather racing boots.

Long-term owner, disappointed with durability.
I've had my Sidi Vertigos for about a year now, and just about every little thing that can go wrong has.

- Zipper pulls on both sides have broken off. I've had to replace them with keyrings, and will eventually replace them with new pulls.

- The vents never slid open or closed reliably. The handle part of the vent on one side has broken off.

- There is a spot of unprotected leather near the big toe that is gradually getting scuffed, and the toe of the sole is coming loose as a result.

- The loop patch of velcro at the top of the zipper comes a little looser every time I remove the boots.

- The tightness adjustment in the calves just loosens all the way by the time I'm done riding.

If little things like these bother you, steer clear.

Good boot, good crash protection
These are a well designed race boot with good protection. I had a 90 mph crash earlier this summer that involved a fair amount of tumbling, etc. The boots protected my feet well and suffered relatively little damage. The ratchet mechanism for tightening the calf portion of the boot works well. The zipper gave no issues.

The un-protected chain on my race bike finally wore a hole through the heel and has required a second pair of boots. Plan to install a better heel guard this go around!!

great boot
Love these boots overall but there are a few imperfections.

First off from a protection standpoint they are great.. unfortunately I tested this first hand. Had a lowside thanks to pavement markings at about 30 MPH nothing horrible but glad I had good gear on. Despite the bike landing on my foot and sliding a good 20 feet before seperating I had no foot or ankle injuries. Boots held up great and are still completely usable.

Now as far as the less than perfect.

The vents flow very little if any air but are comfortable. Thee calf adjustment is nice but if you have normal to small calf's and wear over the boot pants they will never be snug.

Sizing is consistently inconsistent like my other siding boots. This pare came marked 9.5/44 and others 10/44 either way I find them a bit loose without an insert but a bit narrow and my feet are not wide.

They are comfortable but do squeek a little. I wouldn't want to walk to far in them but they are not bad. Very comfortable with good feel on the bike.

Great overall and since I was bruised all over after my lowside except where my boots covered I will happily recommend them tto anyone looking for boots in this price point.

All around good boot... my first pair. No buyers remorse.
This was my first purchase here.
I was a bit nervous of ordering these boots online because if they did not fit or were uncomfortable I were would be hi and dry for a week or two.

When they came in the mail I tried them on and surprisingly they fit like a glove.
This site is #1 for customer service in my book. I've tried other sites... and they would list things that were not even available. Take your money then offer substitutes. I didn't like that so I came here and so far I don't have any complaints.

The ratchet thing on the back is actually pretty cool. Although if you have really skinny calves you might want to wear thick socks or tuck your pants underneath. Because the ratcheting mechanism can only crank in so far.
That air thing on the side doesn't do all that much unless its a cold day out. But it does add to the ascetic value I suppose.
The boot looks ridged in those pictures but they're actually fairly pliable when you walk around in them. Another relief... the last thing I wanted was to feel like I was wearing skii boots.
Anyways I have no complaints... its a good boot.

Crash Tested
Low sided on the track at 80mph in a right hander, went off into a sand dune, flipped backwards, and my left arm/leg slammed into the ground. In relation to the boots I sustained a fractured fibula in my leg where the beefier top part of the boot is located. Odds are good it would have been broken with a lesser style boot. Not to say that similar style boots wouldn't have protected me the same but the right boot I slid on for the majority of the "trip" has no major issues other than being scraped up. My feet and ankles have no injuries on either leg just the left fibula ha. No parts need to be replaced on the boots they are good to go.

I love the calf adjustments on the Vertigo and if the Vortice is considered the next level of boot then no thank you. Way to many adjustments and takes my buddy 10min to put the dang things on.

Pricey, but good product
Overall I'm happy with these boots. I was between two sizes so I went with the bigger and I'm glad I did. Decently comfortably to walk around and ride in. The calf adjuster is nice, but even with it tightened all the way down it is not snug around my calf. But I am wearing pants over the boot.

If you aren't on the bike you're feet will definitely get sweaty walking around. The vent on the outer part is nice but I don't think it really works...it's not I can feel air inside my boot when riding.

The reason I bought these is for protection, and I think this boot provides excellent protection, though I guess I will have to wait and see.

Great fit and air flow and looks good too!
The boots are better than I hoped for. So I'm Very Happy !!with them they didn't have any break in time for me.I put them on and they are great for my feet right out of the box.I did put a arch support in them as my feet have a heck of and arch. Which I have to do to all my shoes. The air flow is almost like riding barefoot with the vents open.My feet haven't gotten hot at all.The calf adjustment is cool but I have it all the way tight to be snug even with my leathers tucked in. But It sounds like most people have the fat calf going on these days so that's just me I guess. A couple of people reviewing said the lining was scratchy on the calfs but I always wear long tube socks to try to keep the insides cleaner and funk free, so no problem there for me.They feel to me as if they are right up there with the brands that cost much more. They look so much like leather that a friend didn't believe they are a man made fiber until I showed him the info. on them. They are also super light on your feet. I got the Vertigo instead of the Cobras just to have a little more protection. All that being said I would buy SIDI again without any worries.

great mid level boot overall
Didnt get these from revzilla, but wanted to post a review since I would have ordered the wrong size if I didn't buy locally. I normally wear a 9.5 or 10, usually 10. Went with an 8.5 on these. Was a bit apprehensive in the store because they felt a bit tight as far as the inside height of the boot. Sat on a bike and it felt much better. Wore them in store for 20 mins and felt better about the size. Yesterday I rode for 6 hours with the boots and they are great, wouldnt have wanted a larger size. Like people say the calf is wide and def made for wearing over pants, even have about half inch of space with them tightened all the way and leather pants inside. The boots feel very well made and durable, very lightweight and seem to have great protection. If the calf could tighten a bit more that would be great but it still works fine. The fit on my foot is like a glove, id say if they feel a tiny bit tight at first (not pinchy, but snug), dont worry because they will break in a little bit (but not a ton), and they definitely feel more comfy when riding than walking/standing. Ventilation is also very good, had to close the vents to keep my feet warm. I am happy with my purchase. I am curious to see how well the "boa" system for the calf tightness holds up, the dial is pretty small and not super robust. Seems durable though.

Look great, good reviews. I like the apparent level of protection. Having friends and family who have shattered ankles and shins while riding I didn't want to skimp on protection. I will use them on track days and spirited street rides.

This is my 2nd pair of Vertigo's, I have had my first pair for ten years and they have been awesome. Very comfortable, with all day riding and some decent amount of walking standing around. Especially with Sidi being 10% off right now makes this is a no brainer, Sidi is never on sale.

Even with no money off Sidi is the way to go, these boots just last and are comfortable and give great protection.

Watched a few of the on line reviews, went for added protection. ( even though I will not be doing track days).
Like the features and look of the boot. Have an old pair of sidi boots from aerostich that fit well.
A little worried about toe width, as mine are EE wide, but I went up from 44 to 45 and this usually does the trick. We'll see...

I have some lower end Sidi Evo Tepor boots that have held up really well and I love, but needed some higher protection boots for my style of riding, and the fact that these boots have a vent but aren't perforated is the reason I chose them over the Sidi Cobra or Cobra Air.

Question about sizing... I wear 10.5 in DCShoes, my foot is 10.5" long (almost 4" wide), I wear size 10's in most shoes except DC's, but I noticed that with the Euro sizing, there is no thing as a size 10.5, it's either 10 or 11. Which do you think is best to order? (I know the return policy is great, but somebody with 10.5 DC's might point me in the right direction!) Thanks!
A shopper on Feb 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'm in about the same boat as you. I normally wear a size 11 DC Court Graffik but most other shoes / boots I'm a 10.5 or a 10. I ended up getting the size 10 boots and they fit great. A tiny bit tight on my left pinky toe (I guess that foot is wider haha) but I have adjusted quite easily and there isn't much give in these but I only feel that pressure when walking, but not while riding.
i got some dainese leathers and my oxtar boots barely fit over leg armour-alpinestar?,dainese? or sidi?
A shopper on Apr 28, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Alpinestars should fit, thats what i have and SIdi's were a struggle to get over the shin guard..had to ride the bottom of the leathers up a bit to fit and even then the zipper felt like it was going to go!
what should I use to clean my boots?
A shopper on Oct 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Hi. I got my boots dirty from mud and a little oil spilling from a leak on the motor. Use a nice fabrics shampoo on a damp cloth for an all around clean, then, use Orange Glo on the hard plastics with a toothbrush, clean it all with a damp cloth and let it dry. If you see some dull colors on the hard plastics, use a little bit of Armor All, avoiding the soles, of course. Been using my boots for more than a year and still they look awesome. Cheers.
how are these boots if you get caught in the rain? I ride in temps from 100 to 35 degrees and am debating between the Sidi Vertigo and the Sidi Vertigo Mega Rain boot. Any suggestions would be helpful.
A shopper on Apr 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: they are race boots made for extra protection in case of a fall. they are not waterproof. you will be fine if you get caught in the rain on occasion. it happens. can you wear them in the rain, yes. will they last very long, your mileage may vary.
Do you have black Vertigo Air boots in stock or can you order them if needed ? I did not see them listed.
A shopper on Aug 5, 2011
BEST ANSWER: The color listed here is the only one available for these boots. Selecting your size from the drop-down menu will tell you if there are currently in stock.
