SIDI Crossfire TA Boots Videos

SIDI Crossfire TA Boots

Providing the absolute best in protection, feel and support, the Sidi Crossfire remains unchallenged as the finest off-road motorcycle boot available. With innovations and features like the unique dual flex system and cam-lock buckle closure, the Crossfire TA is designed to give you the most comfortable and progressive riding experience possible.

Dual Flex System: Allows for easy movement forward and backward but is extremely strong side to side giving the rider the finest in ankle protection and long lasting comfort. The hinged, dual position, stitch-free upper is constructed from injection-molded plastic. With the exclusive Dual Flex system and the four floating, independent straps the Crossfire can provide each rider with a personal fit no matter his body shape or if he uses knee braces or not.

Adjustable Calf System: Sidi’s exclusive, patented, adjustable calf system allows the rider to adjust the diameter of the Crossfire boot at the calf. This system, along with longer upper straps, allows the Crossfire boot to accommodate riders with larger calves easier than any other boot now available. The Crossfire can accommodate riders with up to a 22-inch calf diameter 14 inches above from the bottom of their heel. The inner plastic plate is made of two different materials; a rigid one to support the boot and a heat resistant one to protect the rider’s leg from exhaust heat. All components of this system are fully replaceable and are available in a wide variety of colors.

Heel Detail: Three extended ribs are featured at the back of the boot to assist the rider in making upshifts with his heel when starting a race. Rigid, shock resistant, anatomically shaped heel for maximum protection.

Non-Bootie Designs: Sidi boots do not incorporate inner booties into their design, and for good reason. Booties make the design larger and cumbersome; add to the boot’s thickness, which interferes with shifting, plus the inner booties retain body heat affecting the rider’s performance and comfort.

Buckles: Sidi’s exclusive cam-lock buckle system is acknowledged as the finest system on the planet. It must be as most of Sidi’s competitors have attempted to copy various aspects of it. The cam-lock buckle system incorporates a strap memory retention system. Adjust the straps once and they will be at the same position for every ride after that! No more readjusting for every ride or mid-day during a ride.

Toe Areas: The tip of the toe on the Crossfire boots are covered with plastic to protect the base material and seems against abrasion from brush etc. Plastic shift and brake lever guards on the top of each foot area.

Heat Shields: Each Sidi boot is equipped with an anti-heat undressed leather protection panel at the same height of most motorcycle’s exhaust heat shields.

Composite Insole: Sidi is the only manufacture to use a composite insole that is anatomically shaped to the rider. A cushioned liner is provided that can be removed if the rider desires a more roomy fit. Sidi does not use steel shanks riveted to its insole like most manufactures, details such as this enable Sidi boots to enjoy a multi year service life versus the competitors multi month lifespan as over time, a steel shank can deteriorate, rust and fracture exposing the rider to injury.

Lorica: Every Crossfire TA outers is fully constructed with Lorica, a composite micro fiber material created from strands less than one thousandth the thickness of silk. When injected with special resins, these fibers act like natural leather but with the addition of better strength, softer texture, lighter weight and better moisture protection.

Lining: Cambrelle is a lining that, due to its particular polyimide structure, guarantees a rapid drying rate after the boot gets wet or sweaty. This prevents the onset of mold forming which extends the boots lifespan dramatically. The Teflon treated mesh panels in the rear calf area of the boot allow humidity to escape while the boot is in use.

Sidi Crossfire TA's
These Crossfires are replacing an as new pair of Alpine Star 8's. More comfortable, easier to use (no booties) better buckles, straps have greater range of adjustment and of course Sidi's top quality build and materials. Only one day of riding so far but the boots feel like they are breaking in very nicely. Quite comfortable

Awesome !
My previous boots were Alpinestar Tech 8. The Sidis are lighter, way more comfortable, the buckles are very easy.
The first impression is that the boots are a little snug, not tight though, but a few minutes later they feel super comfortable,
Practically no break in period !
Awesome boots, highly recommend it. I researched quite a bit before I pulled the trigger and I am glad I did !
The Crossfire TA have supposedly more flexible soles than the SRS and less of a hassle to maintain. A fellow rider has the SRS and he says the screws on the soles need to be tightened regularly.

Great for rough terrain
To me these are quite expensive. They give me great confidence, however, and therefore I think they are worth their price. They need no break-in; fit is great from day one. The extra shields on the sides here and there are well placed; the buckles seem high quality; and so far they stand up for kicking into rocks, scraping in the dirt, going through water, and being hit by bike pegs. My feet are safe and dry after these things happen to them weekly. If they last along time, which the overall quality suggests, the high price will be rendered to good deal. BTW, if anyone cares, they are not made in Italy anymore, but rather Romania.

Not for short-legged folks
I wanted the best protection in an offroad/adventure boot.
The boot fit well for my feet, but the upper was way too tall, almost to my knee joint, which made walking very difficult.

It would be awesome if Sidi made a Crossfire for women.

I had to go with the Alpinestar Stella Tech 3 for women.

Crossfire TA Boots (black)
The best boots I have ever owned. Best protection and comfort by far. Break in was not too long and the fact that each buckle is independent really makes adjusting them for the perfect fit, much easier.

Excellent boots
Amazing boots, really. Minimal break-in before being supremely comfortable. I use them for dual sport riding and commuting and they're quite comfortable to walk in. Expensive, but after the sticker shock subsides it's clear that the boots exude quality and should last long enough to be well worth the cost. The only drawback for my use is that they squeak like a bag of hamsters when I walk in them, drawing even more attention to the ATGATT when I walk through the office or a store. When I got home the other day my wife looked up from her book and said "Oh look, Robo Cop's home."

Bombinest ever
I got the 9.5 and I wear a 10 normally. The broke in within 2 or 3 rides and feel great, snug, but not cramped. Durable and mean. I jacked my ankle on a fatty boulder and should've had some serious injuries, but the boot did exactly what I bought it for.
I figured I'd rather spend $400 plus on a boot that's got tons of replaceable parts than ever have to go to a podiatric surgeon.

Sidi Crossfire TA Boots - size 9.5
Great looking boot.
The fit is snug. I purchased a 1/2 size larger than my shoe size and it still is a very snug fit.
The foot/toe area is very narrow compared to other brands (i.e. TCX). The uppers are adjustable, but if you are stocky like me they will need to be set to max length around ankle and calf areas. The uppers is very comfortable as is the whole boot when properly adjusted.

The ball of the foot (bottom) will take a little getting use to as it in a little thin and the angle is forward.

The break-in period is long. I have only had the boots for 2weeks and can tell it is going to take a few more rides before these loosen up enough to feel I made a good purchase.

The quality of the boot is excellent and in-line with other brands of similar price. I originally purchased the TCX 2.1 Pro boot but unfortunately, they don't come 1/2 sizes and the size 9 was too tight with the inner booty. Comparing the two the TCX has more flexible (front/back/side to side) but the upper is very uncomfortable and sharp compared to the Sidi.

Great quality
After reading so many reviews of the short break-in period and comfort, I guess I expected a freer ankle movement from the start.

After I removed the upper protective panels so I could get to the main leather body of the boot (a very nice feature!), I conditioned the leather with Kiwi Leather conditioner / softener and a hair blow dryer. After the conditioning and a few hours of deep knee bends and ankle extensions, and now 1 ride, I can say they flex well for gear changes and a good brake feel, but still kinda awkward to walk in (compared to normal shoes).

With that said, the quality of materials and workmanship is obvious. I have as normal of a foot as you will find and the boots fit very slightly narrow but correctly in length to my usual shoe size. The narrowish fit is actually comfortable and adds to the secure feel of the boot.

Pricey, so that's a hit on the bang-for-tha-buck, but other then that, I like'em and would recommend them to anyone looking at top tier quality and protection in a MX boot.

Wanted to get boots that would protect my ankles after an "incident" while wearing my 30 year old leather Gaerne boots. I talked to some professional riders I know, and they all wear Sidi. It took me awhile to break them in, and they do not have the flexibility of the old boots, but thats the point. Very well engineered from high quality materials. Expensive but a good value for the protection offered.

I am replacing Sidi moto-x boots that I have really liked but your explanatory video sealed the deal. REALLY appreciate the video reviews.

I love these boots, the fit and protection, and the low-profile foot. Unfortunately, they were too tall for my short calfs. Also, the TA buckles were not as easy to use as the Crossfire 2s that my husband has.

I wanted the best off-road boots for the combination of protection while riding, manipulating the brake and shifter, fit, and comfortable (on and off the bike). These boots offer great value to me even if they do carry a top-notch price. In my 2+ years of experience with them, they're definitely worth it.

How large is the Toe Box on the TA model? It looks lower than the Adventure Gore-Tex which fits me perfectly. I am wondering if my 9 1/2 E (US) foot will fit in the Size 43 with room for my toes. I have a pair of SIDI Apex boots (SZ 43) which did a number on my left big toe nail...
Paul T on Dec 8, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I have both and I do believe that the toe box is smaller and much lower profile on the TA. Whereas there is quite a bit of room to wiggle the toes on the adventures and they feel more like commando boots. They are comfortable and look really good. That said I prefer the performance of the TAs and will use them whenever I will be pushing the bike hard such as off-roading. The toe box profile really allows you to get your toe under the gear lever quickly and they just perform better for that application. They take longer to break in than the adventures though and I would say are not quite as comfortable for long touring. I also had to get one size larger for the TA's than I have for the adventures.
Are the Sidi Crossfires waterproof?
A shopper on Aug 22, 2012
BEST ANSWER: No. They perform fine for me in the rain but there is nothing particularly waterproof about them. You won't ride around with wet feet; you'll probably stay dryer than with shorter, less plated boots, but they aren't meant to be waterproof.
I have an older pair of Sidi Adventure in size 46, which are too big. I want a boot with more protection. Should I order the TA in a size 45 or 46 as it seems they are a tighter fit than the adventure?
A shopper on Apr 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Don't know how the Adventure fits but the Crossfire run like one size down.
