I crash tested these pants in a lowside at approximately 35 mph. Sliding along the ground, the knees of the pants tore open all the way to the armor. There were various other holes throughout the right sides of the pants and I noticed in spots where there was more pressure during the slide that the nylon had melted. I was unharmed during the crash and I have the pants to thank for that but I fear if I had been going any faster the result would not have been as good. They definitely concern me that the nylon would melt on a bigger scale and into your skin.
Overall I've put about 20,000 miles on these pants including a 2,400 mile trip and the pants were relatively comfortable. I never had a use for the liner, even down into the mid to high 30's. The pants also got very hot during the summer as they only flowed limited amounts of air. Even during the winter if I would forget to zip up the vents, I would rarely notice the oversight.
For the price and all of the high protection "durable", "ballistic" nylon, etc that they advertise for these pants, I've picked up a different pant since these have proven to be crash once and throw away.

Snap on waist comes undone easily....and not because I'm fat! I had to adjust the waistline to fit and it would pop loose periodically

I got these on the advice of a friend and love 'em. The build quality is excellent and the fit is outstanding. I use these on my 70 degree and cooler days and they perform great. They warm up quick in the warmer weather and don't have much for venting (why I have a mesh pair) but it's perfect for the high mountian roads I ride. I also like that the OUTSIDE is waterproof, not the liner. In light rain they don't get soggy and heavy. These are an awesome cool weather pant!
