The REV'IT Gear pants are a good deal if you're looking for better-than-average styling, [probably] a good fit, and excellent construction. I question the fit only because they're not perfect for my body type, but more on this shortly. I like the touring over-the-boot cut for casual long rides or road trips. The pants have some reflective material by the leg zippers for added visibility. This is a great feature for someone that likes the black leather look but wants to be seen. There are two zippered pockets in the front that I find very convenient for phones and wallets. It's just enough storage for convenience while maintaining a minimalist design.
I have the leather Tarmac jacket from REV’IT and the two incorporate very effortlessly with their zip-together design. Awesome feature.
I think the knee protection could be a little more comfortable. It’s not annoying by any means. It just could be a little better. The hip protection seems almost insignificant. Though I haven’t gone down in this gear, I cannot provide that kind of feedback.
I’ve rated these pants as a very good quality to cost because of the stitch quality, excellent textile and leather material and overall cut and value of the pants. The fit for me is difficult, so it is a personal opinion that they could be a little better when making a ‘long’ cut, that they actually make it long. I am 6’2”, 160, with long lanky legs (36”+ inseam). The size 50 tall is still too short for me by 1-2 inches. For most people I would venture to say that a tall will suffice most ‘tall’ people’s needs.

After doing a lot of research and trying on a lot of different pairs of pants, I finally settled on these ones. Living in southern California, I wanted a year-round pant that would be warm enough for winters (40-60 degrees) and cool enough for summers (70-90 degrees). These pants absolutely fit the bill. They have leather in the primary impact zones, and a high-durability mesh in the other panels. Stitching is top notch, and stretch panels in the right areas ensure that the knees and waist have enough freedom of movement.
I wore them for the first time yesterday, and found the knees to be a little restrictive, but I attribute that to the leather needing to break-in. I ride a Speed Triple, so I don't have any fairings to provide protection from the wind, but the windproof liner kept the cool air off of me completely. I did, however, feel the air pressing against the liner, which indicates that when I zip the liner out during the summer these pants will flow air beautifully.
The video says that you can get these under or over boots, but I couldn't zip the pants into my Alpinestars SMX5 boots, so I think that the pants are a little loose to zip under boots. Nonetheless, they look great, so I'm fine with it. The armor is hard enough for good impact protection, but comfortable, and higher quality than any armor I've seen outside of track pants. Very soft armor in the sides, which is nice but wouldn't do much in a heavy impact.
One word of caution: these pants run small. I'm 6 foot 220 pounds, usually wear a 36-38 jeans, and I had to go with size 56 in these pants. They fit perfectly, so just make sure that you order up a size or two.
All in all a great quality pant with lots of features, and if you can get them on sale then they're one of the best deals out there. Great pants for street riding and touring, but if you want to hit the track and drag your knee then get some track pants.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Rev'it! makes such high quality products, I have never been dissapointed in anything I've purchased from them. And I've purchased these pants, a leather jacket, and gloves, and all are top notch high quality, very protective and comfortable! These pants flow a ton of air, and yet are extremely protective! Great for hot summers, and if you put in the liner they block out the wind and cold very well. The leather is so soft, supple and comfortable! And just keeps getting more and more all the time! I would highly recommend these pants if you are looking for protective leather motorcycle pants that flow a lot of air.

Don't kid yourself about the fit of these - these are slim! Size chart is no B.S. I'm a 32X33 jeans and I squeeze into a 48 long.
The 50 long was a good fit but a little tall, I'm sure I would find the 50 regular too short (I don't have tall boots and short pants don't do it for me period). The 48's are snug, but no way I can fit jeans (or shorts for that matter) under the 50's so stayed with the 48L. Not an overpant. Beyond the fit these are the real deal. With liner OK into the 40's, have been in light rain, no probs. Haven't been in heat or downpours. Feels like armor would stay in place in a get off, and leather feels more reassuring that textile. The rain liner will be more of a seasonal swap than daily or just for rain - can't see stopping by the side of the road, stripping down to skivvies to add the liner.

These pants fit amazing and they zip into the Rev'it Phoenix Jacket perfectly. They have a ton of mesh on them to allow for plenty of airflow and I liner is comfortable to wear too. My only thing that I could see Rev'it improving upon on these pants is the protection. The padding in the hips is a thin foam and the shape is not the same as the SAS TEC, so without some creativity you are stuck with minimal padding on the hips. I have been in an accident and know how much of a beating your hips can take. Overall, I love the style of pants and look forward to riding in the hot summers of Northern California with them.

First of all, these pants look much better than the pics show, and they look great on. People complain about price, but you get what you pay for with these. They are very well made pants as far as I can tell. They fit nice, they look good and the protection seems top notch. I've worn these for a couple weeks for my everyday commuting and they are pretty comfortable for what they are - a fitted pair of leather pants where the protection stays in place. These are slimmer fitting pants so if you have thick legs or are out of shape, you might want to consider something else. I am 6'3" 185 with a slim athletic build and at the advice of the guys at Revzilla, I chose the 52 long. This was one size up from my measurements because I wanted to wear shorts or jeans underneath. They could have been a half inch longer in the length for when I'm in riding position, but no biggie. I can't speak for durability at this point but they look very well made. As far as air flow, its hard to find a truly protective pair of pants with good air flow and I don't think you can do much better than these. I've been in 85 to 90 with these and they do well. I don't care what you wear above 90, you will be hot. If I start to get a little warm, I just stand up and let the air flow through for 15 seconds or so. I use to sweat with my textiles at 85 degrees, but not with these. Also bear in mind that there is low humidity where I ride which does make it nicer. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase and would definitely buy these again. I think they are worth the price.

Answer:
You could fit a Gerbing's Liner under the gear pant, however, you will want to size up as Rev'It runs a size small. Also keep in mind the Gear Pants are a warm weather pant and they might not be the best option for cooler weather even with a heated liner.

REV'IT! Jackets are European (slim) cut and generally more narrow in the shoulders than other brands. Please take this into account when choosing the appropriate size. Most riders with any body type other than "slim" would need to order one size larger than they typically might wear in other brands, if you are in between sizes, we recommend erring on the larger side. If you have any questions about REV'IT! sizing please call 877-792-9455 for help.

How To Measure REV'IT! Jacket Size

How To Measure REV'IT! Pants Size

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements.  REV'IT! sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
