Joe Rocket Ballistic 7.0 Pants
Good protection, and durable!
These pants feel very heavy duty, they've been protecting me from below freezing temperatures for the last few weeks and keep me dry from Seattle's winter rain. They've paid for themselves already, considering the money I've saved on car parking in the city during the bad months.

Great pants for the money
I bought these as a pair of over pants to wear over my uniform when riding to and from work. I just started riding the bike daily no matter what the weather and needed a pair of pants to protect my uniform from the elements. Here is the bonus they are warm, and keep the wind and rain out. I have been wearing them without the liner in temps a low as 26 degrees and was comfortable. I am not sure how they will fair when the hot temps of summer hit but for now they are great.
The zipper pretty much unzips all the way to the hip which make these pants easy to climb in and out of. I do have a little problem with the zipper catching the rain flaps on the zippers but as long as I am conscious of the issue it is no problem.
Here is the short of it, I love these pants, water proof, wind proof and they fit well. I ordered a size larger than I would normally wear as I am using these as an additional layer and they are great.

Cheap zippers broke after 2 weeks
The size medium pants themselves are comfortable and fit me well (5'10", 160 lbs), but the leg zippers are awful! They are constantly snagging on the inner liner when I zip them and just yesterday, one of the zippers broke. I mean, the whole zipper just came apart. So now I have to send them away to get repaired. The waterproof liner is fairly hefty and does a good job at keeping the wind at bay. I would have given the pants a glowing review if it wasn't for those weak zippers.

Great for cold mornings!
I bought these specifically to wear on cool to cold mornings. I don't like the bulk of a thermal liner and these have done great so far without one. I rode this morning in the low 40's and was comfortable. That was without the waterproof liner.

Real happy with these!
As my other pants are multi layer mesh, I needed something completely windproof and solid. These work really well, I'm using them so far without the liners (which are a nice two layers of nylon type, not a single layer). I'm 6'1" with a normal 33" inseam and a 33-34" waist, I got the "Medium-Tall" with a 36" inseam to keep my ankles covered, I'm not wearing them over pants, but over cycling tights. Maybe if I were commuting I'd go for "large-tall" for over pants, but they'd be really big otherwise.
My only issue, and its minor, would be to have larger Velcro contact patches on the cuffs.
RevZilla, when I asked if they could ship them out on the day of order not only responded within an hour, but I had them NEXT DAY with free shipping....outstanding!

I really like these pants. I was looking for some pants that didn't make me look like a Power Ranger. These pants are all black, and don't standout when I'm not on my bike.
I don't wear these pants as overpants; I wear them on rides so I wear only padded bicycle shorts under them. There are no ventilation openings so I can see where some people are going to feel they are hot, but it doesn't bother me. I haven't tried the included liners but I think they will make the pants comfortable in cold weather if I wear long ski pants under.
I'm 6' tall with a 33" waist and 34" inseam, about 180 pounds. I bought the Medium/Long size and they fit great. They fit like jeans thru my waist and hips, with the legs just a bit looser than jeans. Walking around in them is no problem.
I haven't had a chance to test their effectiveness in a crash, but they seem very rugged and durable. Honestly, I can't imagine why pants costing 3 times as much would be any better. I'm very happy with them.

Good protection, interesting fit (for me at least)
Great pants, feels like descent protection. These are my first riding pants. The price seemed right so I went with them. Not a ton of air flow but I expected that. They do get warm but taking out the WP liner helps. The fit is different, waist line fit great and with the WP liner out I can use them as overpants. Length was too long even with the shorter option. I have short legs anyway. I find there could have been a better way to secure the cuff around the ankle, buttons would have been great but the Velcro works, just not as secure.

Leg cut very bulky and no rise in crotch. Too bad.
The leg cut is extremely bulky in the size 42, while the butt and crotch rise is for someone with a size 32 body. The rain liner is extremely bulky and overly insulated and appropriate for an arctic expedition instead of a ride on a wet day. The crotch rise is so short that you get instant plumbers butt the second you sit on your bike. I would suggest avoiding these.
My score, Reveille, very good. Joe Rocket Ballistic 7 pants, bad.
