Great way for relaxed fit protection Pants fit comfortably and lots of room to move and sit comfortably on bike. Pants are warm and can be used with light clothing underneath. Good deal for the money. November 14, 2015
Good Pants Ordered these for my first long ride, 1,100 miles in five days. I wore these pants for all parts of the ride in temperatures from 32 to 75 degrees, in dry, wet, frosted, cloudy, sunny and windy days. These worked great, stayed pretty warm with jeans underneath without use of the extra thermal layer, yet they breathed well enough I didn't sweat in the warm weather. Had pretty good range of movement, velcro adjustments held everything in place and had no problems with the zippers as I've seen in some reviews. Only thing I wish they had were at least one hip pocket. October 22, 2015
Very good for commuting These pants are excellent for commuters, I'm 5'9" 76 kg and buy MD regular, they suits me perfect. Great for rain and cool weather. October 8, 2015
Good commuting pants I've been wearing these pants for the past week everyday back and forth to work on a 30 minute ride each way and I can't find anything seriously wrong with these pants other than 1 of the snaps will pop open every time. With the rain liner in these pants will get hot fast but rode in light stuff for 15 mins and didn't have a drop come through. Without the liner in I don't feel like I'm going to burn up in these sitting in traffic at 70 degrees out. All the pads fall naturally in the right position and there is a ton of adjustability in waist and the legs. Easy on and off as long as you don't snag the knee armor pocket with your boot. Great Buy! As a beginning Rider, we all want the best protection, and since we spent money on a nice bike, we dont have much left over. Good to pair with an applicable jacket that zipps together, and with a pair of shorts underneath, a not too hot. Nice movable protection in the knees and fit nice and snug in the waist. A little bulky in the ankles but it definately pays off in the rain with the underliner....CHEERS September 9, 2015
Safe Ride I feel safer with these pants on... The knee pads provide excellent protection and the inside rain liner keeps me dry. Great item. September 7, 2015
Good protection, best for cool weather I bought these pants mostly based on fit. I'm 5'8" and wear a 34/30". There are a lot of good things about these pants. To start, they feel substantial and of good quality. The thought of sliding across the pavement isn't so scary with these on. Tough CE knee protection is complemented by some thinner foam hip protection. They fit easily over full length Cortech boots, and I really appreciate the velcros near the bottom of the pants that allow you to close the ends of the legs tight against your boots to prevent buffeting in the wind. I haven't tested the claim that they are water proof, but can believe it. The pants come with an inner liner that is removable, so you can just wear the mesh-lined outer shell in the summer. These are substantial, weatherproof pants. That being said, they are HOT. I really don't feel any ventilation on my legs when riding, which is uncomfortable on summer days. I always get a bit sweaty under them, even in shorts. However, I have only used them in summer riding. I bet they'd be ideal for the cooler months and would highly recommend them if that's when you plan to do most of your riding. May 14, 2015
Good, warm pants. Been wearing these pants since the middle of last season. Pros: Warm, very warm, never used the rain liner yet because they keep you pretty dry without it. Fitting is good, little bit loose, but not enough to warrant an exchange like I've done with other brands. Knee armor is plastic. I prefer plastic knee armor vs. kevlar for personal reasons. Cons: Warm, very warm, like extremely warm. Good for long windy rides on the freeway, not so good when cruising around the city on a 100° day. The rain liner is only good for sweaty balls. . Side zippers - All my other overpants were Alpinestars and they had a zipper that started from the side and gradually moved towards the other side and stopped right above the knee. The JR zippers go straight up and down. The Alpinestars zippers are much easier to get in and out of while wearing boots. The zippers also catch and frequently get stuck on the pant legs. Bulky - Material is very strong, but with strength comes bulk. They look like ski pants and the legs will rub against each other while walking to sound like ski pants as well. The material is thick enough that I bet these things would probably outperform ski pants as far as warmth and water resistance goes. Short rise - Crotch to waist ratio is a bit short and with the loose fitting, the chances of displaying butt crack to the world behind you is very high. Did I mention that these pants are really warm? Despite the cons outweighing the pros, I'd still recommend these pants for the long range rider. April 13, 2015

Enrique G asked: Hello, I'm a commuter and I'm looking for a pair of pants that I can use on daily basis, I'm 5'9" and 165 lbs. Should I buy Medium Short or Medium Regular? Are these a good pair of pants for a commuter? Sep 17, 2015

Timothy C: Hello Enrique
My name is Tim, I would say med reg because when sitting all pants are going to ride up your leg a bit and depending on what color socks you have on it looks a bit non-color coordinated if you worry about these sort of things. But they are great pants and fit well over your own pants or as your primary if you want , it also has a liner that can be removed. this is a must for protection with knee and hip armor. I like them a lot.

Michael B: I'm 6'3" and about 210 lbs. I wear a 34 34 in jeans. I have had these pants for a few months now and they are well worth the money! I ordered a Large Long I believe and they fit perfectly. I don't normally wear them over jeans though, for that I would need an XL waist size. On the few occasions that I have worn them over jeans I just zip out the inner waterproof layer.
Hope this helps

marvin w: I'm about 5'5' and around 150 lbs. I have medium short. The short length is plenty long for me, and the fit when worn over jeans is good. I usually only wear them in cool to cold weather as they are plenty warm. I 'll wear them from late fall untill early spring when I commute to work Sep 18, 2015

Kevin P: Don't know about sizes, but great for commuters. I've used them daily for 9+ months of daily commuting over jeans in all weather conditions. Quick on/quick off for overpants. Armor and pads make them a little unwieldy to compactly fold up, but that's my only complaint Sep 17, 2015

Christopher O: Can't help much on the sizing, but will say that they work pretty well for commuting. I've used them all year round and they honestly never bothered me much temperature wise (32F~98F) Sep 17, 2015

A shopper asked: I am looking for a pair of pants that I can wear by themselves, without putting them over jeans. It looks like these are overpants though.

Is anyone wearing these as a regular pant?

Sean B: I always wore these alone or over long johns. it's a tough cordura fabric. you could fit jeans underneath but there's no reason to. if you're looking to wear these to the office, they're a little too serious for that, but otherwise they look pretty normal for working and walking around. overall highly recommend them. JEAN-PIERRE M: I have these pants and I would not wear them as regular pants because they're pretty bulky and they're HOT. They look and feel like snow pants and also make a lot of noise when you walk and the legs rub together.

These are great over pants though and keep you very warm and dry.

jameson a: These pants work fine as regular pants. They come with an inner liner for cold weather, but I have been using the pants without the inner liner (I do wear basketball shorts underneath for a little confort) ever since I purchased them. Apr 12, 2015

Jack A: They work well as a regular pant. I have never used the liner, but have worn tights under them in cold weather. Great pants! Apr 13, 2015

Jeramey J: WEATHER
I have been wearing these since last year. There is a zip out poly liner that I leave out for the summer. Winter time I put it back in so I can travel in the rain.
These pants are great for wind-block and I traveled all winter last year in them, rocking sweats or jeans underneath.

Im a big dude, so wear a 5X . My pants waist size is 50. And, I still have room for my jeans no problem the the pants slide well on them. The thing for size is that, with a big waist, they seem to think I should have a 36" inseam. So, I got them hemmed up from a friend and trimmed the zippers. But, thats because I've got stubs for legs.

I have not been cold in this pants yet, even on 500 mile days. With the liner in and a base layer, I get no wind through the material or water. They are thick and provide good protection. In the summer, I remove the liner and just wear a base layer (under armour stretchies / thermals) against the internal mesh liner. Works for me. I will continue to wear these all winter in my case.

Kevin L: I wear 34/35 pants and brought the XL. I wear them as overpants and have plenty of room in the waist and legs. With the liner in they keep me pretty warm. I have worn them in the low 20s and felt no chill. I have to take the liner out when it's above 40 or I get pretty hot in them. I've only used mine as winter over pants. Oct 22, 2013

Vir N: Well I have not ridden in them in the winter to start with but I have ridden in the rain in the higher parts of the Himalays. Where it got pretty cold. I was wearing the pants with the rain liner and a pair of thermals inside and that was good enough for me. I have not tried to wear them over clothing but I think they would fit pretty well. All in all I am very happy with them. They are the only pair of riding pants in my kit now and I have used them all year round http://helmetstories.blogspot.in/search/label/Pangi%20Valley Oct 23, 2013

Otis M: I bought these to wear over work clothes for rides into the office. They are a little tight in the thighs and hips for over jeans. I bought a large and have a 36 waist. Plenty of room in the waist, not much in the hips and upper thighs. I think an XL might have been better.

They are very warm and have become my cold weather pants. I have not worn them with the liners because of the tightness in the hip and thighs. I ride in temps in the 20s in dry Colorado.
