Leg cut very bulky and no rise in crotch. Too bad. The leg cut is extremely bulky in the size 42, while the butt and crotch rise is for someone with a size 32 body. The rain liner is extremely bulky and overly insulated and appropriate for an arctic expedition instead of a ride on a wet day. The crotch rise is so short that you get instant plumbers butt the second you sit on your bike. I would suggest avoiding these. My score, Reveille, very good. Joe Rocket Ballistic 7 pants, bad. great cold weather pants these pants are great for cold weather. really warm and almost zero airflow. that being said, they are VERY hot in warmer weather. even without the liner. i mean swampy hot, even at high speeds. but on cold mornings they are amazing. the knee pads can be placed in either of two pockets, one about an inch higher than the other which for me being 6'1" they ride just a hair low. the hip armor is great, i dont even notice it while riding. the full legth zippers are great, i take them on and off over my work boots with no issues. all in all a great pair of overpants. 5XL - very roomy I haven't had a chance to wear these out yet, so I'm not going to comment on durability or airflow. I mostly wanted to write a review for other larger riders out there. It's often difficult to find motorcycle gear that fits. I typically wear 3XL shirts or gym shorts, 50-52" waist. Motorcycle gear I always get at 5XL, some fit, some don't. Joe Rocket gear (jackets and pants), are very generously cut. 5XL could slide over a pair of pants, comfy enough without pants. Even fits well with the liner. I highly recommend these to larger riders. April 4, 2014
Good Overpant 6'3" 190lbs Ordered Size: MD Tall I wear size 32/36 501 jeans. I did a lot of research to find motorcycle pants that don't become high waters when sitting on a bike and these fit the bill. The Joe Rocket pants work great as over pants for me as they are roomy. They are no-frills, but do exactly what you'd expect at this price point. They do make a bit of a "swoosh" sound when you walk from the material rubbing together. February 28, 2014
Recommend for the not too tall riders I'm 5'6", and it's already hard enough to find pants with the proper length in this industry. I got Medium Short. Easy to put on, keeps me warm when riding early in the morning. December 2, 2013
Protection and value Great protection and value but style and safety are slightly sacrificed. Pants are comfy, plain and simple and fit as to size chart. These pants deliver exactly what I paid for, no reflective materials and no extra pockets. One detail I didn't appreciate was that the logo is in red but thankfully it's small enough to ignore November 18, 2013
Big Man....Great Pants Bigger guy and these fit perfectly. Length is a little off but I tend to have a shorter inseam than most. October 28, 2013
nice but they could have added a few extra bells and whistles First off I havn't ridden with the pants yet but my first observations find the pants to be quite comfortable. I am 5'11" 205 lbs and have 34 waist. I ordered the XL and was able to get them over jeans comfortably. I can only see a few things that would be nice to have. Better venting or venting at all and some reflective stripping. Other than that great bang for your buck. March 19, 2013

Jeramey J: WEATHER
I have been wearing these since last year. There is a zip out poly liner that I leave out for the summer. Winter time I put it back in so I can travel in the rain.
WIND
These pants are great for wind-block and I traveled all winter last year in them, rocking sweats or jeans underneath.

SIZE
Im a big dude, so wear a 5X . My pants waist size is 50. And, I still have room for my jeans no problem the the pants slide well on them. The thing for size is that, with a big waist, they seem to think I should have a 36" inseam. So, I got them hemmed up from a friend and trimmed the zippers. But, thats because I've got stubs for legs.

TEMP
I have not been cold in this pants yet, even on 500 mile days. With the liner in and a base layer, I get no wind through the material or water. They are thick and provide good protection. In the summer, I remove the liner and just wear a base layer (under armour stretchies / thermals) against the internal mesh liner. Works for me. I will continue to wear these all winter in my case.

Kevin L: I wear 34/35 pants and brought the XL. I wear them as overpants and have plenty of room in the waist and legs. With the liner in they keep me pretty warm. I have worn them in the low 20s and felt no chill. I have to take the liner out when it's above 40 or I get pretty hot in them. I've only used mine as winter over pants. Oct 22, 2013

Vir N: Well I have not ridden in them in the winter to start with but I have ridden in the rain in the higher parts of the Himalays. Where it got pretty cold. I was wearing the pants with the rain liner and a pair of thermals inside and that was good enough for me. I have not tried to wear them over clothing but I think they would fit pretty well. All in all I am very happy with them. They are the only pair of riding pants in my kit now and I have used them all year round http://helmetstories.blogspot.in/search/label/Pangi%20Valley Oct 23, 2013

Otis M: I bought these to wear over work clothes for rides into the office. They are a little tight in the thighs and hips for over jeans. I bought a large and have a 36 waist. Plenty of room in the waist, not much in the hips and upper thighs. I think an XL might have been better.

They are very warm and have become my cold weather pants. I have not worn them with the liners because of the tightness in the hip and thighs. I ride in temps in the 20s in dry Colorado.
