Joe Rocket Ballistic 7.0 Pants
Good value riding pants but not for extremely hot weather
Went on 3500 miles trip with this pants and it's the most useful during the coast of California/Oregon in colder weather.
While it's possible to have this pants in hot weather without lining and with all vents opened, it is not all the comfortable when getting close to 95 degrees (35+ Celsius).
My only complain was the length which I should've choose XS with 30" inseam as I am only 5'2 and was hoping 32 with SM will leave me more rooms for jeans or other pants which was not necessary as it has lots of rooms for extra pants already.

Good riding pants for the $$$
I'm tall & thin-6' 130lbs so to get pants that are long enough, they are usually way too big around the waist. But the medium tall sizing made it possible to get long legs & a small waist, Pretty good fit. haven't had them long enough to rate durability. Only thing I don't like is these heat resistant panels on the lower legs....Gets stuck to the exhaust .

Safe pants, but cheap quality
After about 2 months of use, the zipper that keeps the entire right pant leg together broke off. There's still slips of velcro that you can kinda use to keep it together, but it just doesn't feel safe anymore.
Pants were alright otherwise. I'd have preferred a bit more hip protection. They were really warm with the inner liner, and still a bit warm riding around in San Francisco ~70 degrees.

Pretty good pants w/ a few issues
Very sturdy material, not flimsy at all. These should hold up well over time.
Knee (adjustable) and hip pads
Adjustable waist straps so you don't have to wear a separate belt
Look good. They're all black so nothing too crazy.
The calf area has adjustabilty so you can tighten them down so they're fit snugly over your boots and don't flap around. And you don't have to adjust them everytime you put the pants on. Once and done, I like that.
In terms of style, comfort and protection, there are no issues at all which I why I rated excellent in those categories.
Why don't they make a small short? The medium short fit pretty well in my inseam but was just a little too big up top, so had to return. The small fits better up top but is just a little too long in the inseam. Why don't they make a small short? I'm 5'7, 155 BTW. The fit otherwise is pretty good I'd say, they're a LITTLE bulky, but not TOO much.
The side zippers are a little finnicky. It's very easy to get the rain vinyl piece just behind the zipper caught in the zipper when zipping up. I got it caught once and almost broke the tab trying to get it out.
The openings for the pockets are pretty small. I can barely get my hands in them, it's a pretty tight squeeze. And I don't have the biggest hands in the world. They could have made the openings about an inch bigger.
I wish the side zippers came up just a little higher. I only wear a size 9 boot and even for me it's not the easiest to get these pants on/off w/ my boots on.
There's no real air flow, but for me that's not why I got these. These will keep me warm in my cold morning commutes. In the summer I'll wear these until the heat is unbearable and then I'll go jeans only until the weather cools down. These are pretty solid pants so they are pretty warm.
I'd probably never use the inner rain liner. Seems the outside would do the job in the rain unless you're riding in a torrential downpour. Plus with the rain liner in the pants get pretty tight.
I'll never use the zipper that's designed to zip to a jacket so it just flaps around when I'm leaned over on my sportbike. Not really an issue on my cruiser. I'm thinking about just cutting it off, we'll see.
Velcro. The sides have velcro all along the zipper. Works great right now, but what happens in a year or two when the velcro wears out? If/when that happens to me, I might end up cutting off the flap that covers the zipper.
Overall, a few gripes but nothing too major I guess. They have a lot of functionality for the price. If they were more expensive I'd probably say keep looking but for the price they're a pretty good deal.

Great Over Pants
These pants are great! I am able to quickly throw them on and go for a ride. They are very comfortable; the armor in the knees and hips are great protection. The removable liner is great and looking forward to fall riding with those in.

Riding in Texas made me avoid getting pants for years. Finally picked these up though and glad I did. I took the rain protection out and ride with the legs half unzipped. The velcro does well while still getting plenty of air. Knee pads also protects while servicing the bike.
The back of the leg did burn on my exhaust. If there was a piece of velcro to tighten the slack around the thigh that would make these even better.

Would have given them 4 1/2 stars if I could.
I'll start with the issues I have with these: 1) The snaps won't stay closed when you bend over or sit on the bike, 2) the side zippers do tend to catch on the inner flaps, and 3) the hip protectors sit a bit low.
That said, even though these are my first pair of riding pants, I really like them. They are comfortable to wear, move, and walk in. I am 6' tall, have a 34' inseam, fluctuate between a 36-38" waist, and the XL fit beautifully. Also, while I noted the hip protection issue above, the knee protection sits in a perfect position while sitting on the bike.
I haven't had them in the rain yet but the liner feels adequate and all other opening feel pretty secure. What I am sure of, however, is that even though they are not a thermal pant, they blocked the wind very well. I took a 2 hour ride at 75 mph in 35 degree temps (Spring in Chicago) with nothing but a pair of jeans underneath (without the rain barrier) and never felt the least bit chilled. (This makes me wonder what they'll feel like when the 90+ degree sun is beating on them.)
In the end, I'm very happy with these pants and their protection and relatively heavy construction give me a lot of confidence while I ride.

Have put a few miles now with these pants. I like the style, not too obvious, good straight lines. I wear 34w 32 inseam in Levis jeans and so I ordered a LG size. The fit is almost perfect except for the buttons at the waist, too tight..the rest however is spot on so I didn't return them for a different size, and just riding with those open. The protection at the knees feels right. The protections at the hip is unobtrusive. It is not possible to put the pants on if you wear bulky boots ( I wear Forma ADV boots). But I think for the price these pants are quite nice.
