Icon Hella Boot
I have these boots in the taller, calf-height version and have been wearing them consistently for riding for over a year now. I am very satisfied with the protection offered in the ankles of these boots, though I have never gone down so I cannot speak to how well they hold up. The extra height provided by the heel helps me feel more confident in being able to place my feet completely on the ground while on the bike. The sleek toe makes shifting easy with no bulkiness to get in the way. The inner zipper makes them easy on/off. Not to mention the style is sexy; I get a lot of compliments on these boots from both men and women. The deal-breaker for me, however, is the lack of traction in the soles. These boots have almost no grip and are very slippery when the road is wet or when trying to back up the bike on uneven tread (or even a rock-covered driveway). I have almost dropped the bike on a couple of occasions due to this. For this reason, I would recommend these boots for the occasional rider or even a passenger, but not someone who rides everyday in weather conditions as I do.

Overall I would recommend this priduct
Overall this product has good features like the heel and ankle protection, and a platform that adds height but doesn't impair riding ability. One thing I would change about this shoe would be to increase the area covered by added leather near toes to protect against the shift pedal.
Also, as noted by other reviewers, the leather takes some wear to stretch out to comfortable size and I'd recommend adding some gel insoles.

The hella ankle boot.
These boots were a tight fit at first but being leather you want to start with them being a bit tight and then take the time to break them in so that when they are broken in they will fit just right and not be to large or loose. I wear a normal size 9 and when i bought these I bought them in nines. The first three hours or so of wear were very uncomfortable but once I broke them in with in a week or two they have been great ever since. I have had my first pair of these for almost three years now and the only complaint I have is that as a female rider these boots heels are quite slick until you wear them down. But I love them, they look great and now feel like they belong on my feet. Definitely a must have for any fashionable lady rider =D

Great for Wearing to Work
I use these for shortish commute and then wearing at work (desk job) during day. I wanted something with protection that I could still wear during the day and they are perfect for this. Around the office they are remarkably comfortable (though If I was doing more walking I'd need more comfortable shoes) but they are a great compromise for me and I'd definitely recommend them.

Hella boots are fab
I have to disagree with the negative reviews of this boot. I think it's great! The ankle padding hits in just the right place. The fit is spot on. And the boots are very comfortable. Plus they are super styling' and very feminine unlike my Harley boots. I wear the Hella's when I ride my cafe racer. The higher wedge heel is the key to me being flat-footed on my Triumph. My only complaint is that the sole of the heel needs to be made of a more grippy material; it tends to be a bit slippery. Wonderful boot!
