pretty good boot - gives enough ankle protection.
i have worn this boot for over 1-2 years everyday and honestly i can't remember when i bought it. I live in Southern California so our riding season never ends. For a low cut boot it does offer quite a bit of protection. The boot fits like a glove and the buckle is quick to get in and out. When i first got the boot it was too snug. I replace the footbed with the thinner footbed from a pair of Alpine Star boots, same size and it was just that much thinner to allow my foot to sit lower in the Gaerne boots and hence give me a wider fit. My right foot is a half size larger than my left. So after a long day of riding getting off the bike and more riding your feet will swell. I do need to unbuckle the boots if i am just sitting somewhere for a prolonged period or shopping at costco. Not that the shoe i uncomfortable, just my feet are not perfect.
I have almost a XX wide foot so i would say the boot fits wide provided you change out the footbed. Once in a while the pin will slip a bit where the plastic piece with the tiny roller snaps onto the buckle. Just take a pair of pliers and gently push the pin over. haven't tried to put some loctite on one end but that might prevent the piece from sliding around.
The quality of the leather, stitching and workmanship is top notch. The buckles have held up since day one and the metal bit in the rear of the sole will keep the shoe from wearing down completely. I will need to see what the cost of a resole is since this shoe will not die. I figure i have 3 months left before i need to do something, but the sole is getting thin in spots, especially the tip of the boot. I have worn this boot in the Southern California winter and Mojave Summers.
I have worn this shoe on my Yamaha WR250R, Street Triple and now my Tiger 800 XC.
The boot is a low cut shoe so it will never give you the protection a motorcross style or a full length boot will give you. The durability is pretty good at least 4 star. Much better than the Icon boot that failed within the first year.

Good everyday boot
Very comfortable, have worn them to work and walked around all day with no issue. Good waterproofing but are a little on the warm side. I am a true 10.5 and these boots are just a little too big, not to the point of not having good feel on the controls though.

Awesome Boots - Great Comfort as well as Great Protection
Even though the back of the boot goes all the way to the top, it's still very easy to slip your feet into and then just fold over the latches. These have got the be the fastest boots to get in and out of. Exceptionally comfortable with a good insole. Your heel feels solidly in place, yet the boot flexes easily when walking. Can be worn all day both on and off the bike.
