These feel protective and even though they are perforated don't breath much. You will definitely be hot in summer but they offer much better protection than textile or mesh. As usual the Fieldsheer sizing is way off. I have had similar issues with their other products as well. I emailed Fieldsheer directly and was told that they had some sizing, fit & finish issues prior to 2008 so I'm not sure how their new products are...

I normally wear a 32 waist in most pants but they were way too big in this case. I exchanged them for a size 30 and even that fits like a 34 waist but the inseam seems tight? I will have them tightened around the waist to fit true to size since there are no returns or exchanges for closeout items. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this prior...
