these bags are good, slightly lighter weight material than I expected but that doesn't have to a bad thing. time will tell how they hold up. the finishing of the seams, trimming of the excess material where surprisingly poor. this is not high quality attention to detail here. but then again they are a fair bit cheaper than other similar bags. nothing special about the design most bags are similar, or these are similar to most bags however you like.
if you are looking for a cheaper but functional option this is it. if you are looking for high quality detail, perhaps not.

I really needed these bags to hold my wet/cold weather gear. I am an all weather rider and having these bags to store my gear when not needed is great. The only down side was that the installation is just general, wherever you can stick the straps to hold it. All in all, great bags.

... but the quality and workmanship of the Cortech Sport Tri Bag Saddlebag "system" looks quite good. I did fit them to my wife's Yamaha V-Star with no problem what-so-ever. They adjusted well to the mounting points and seemed very secure. The bags were as advertised.

This works great on my H-D XR1200, stays on snug and does not scratch the bike at all. I haven't tried out the waterproof covering but it seems like it will do well. For the daily commute the saddlebags work great, to store lunch and my clear face shield in case I get done late. Would work great for long distance as well, there is lots of room. I also got the Tail Bag that goes with this set, for my long touring trips.

I purchased these for use with my '07 KLR650. I previously purchased the matching tail bag and wanted these to use with it. The purchase price on Revzilla was much lower than any other place on the net or at any of my local stores. I shopped around for several days before I made my purchase. Revzilla offered far and away the best price for these quality bags. They were shipped quickly and arrived in good order.
The install for my bike was a little challenging given the dimensions of the rack on the KLR, but should I decide to use these with my Triumph Thunderbird, I think they will install very easily and probably much better than the stockers.
Performance-wise, I think these bags are about as good as it gets. The expanding capabilities of these saddlebags (as well as the tailbag) are absolutely the best feature to be found on the market. The twin zippers make these bags easy to open and close, and make them much easier to pack. I could easily make a several-week trip out of this rig, as there is copious amounts of space to work with. The outside pockets are great for the smaller stuff, or you can store the rain covers in them like I chose to do. The included rain covers are well-designed and easy to quickly put on and remove as needed. I haven't traveled through a monsoon with them yet, so I don't know how much water they will effectively keep out, especially with the amount of water kicked up by the rear tire. Looks like they should do an admirable job though. Another feature that I liked about these bags are the handles, and specifically that they can be clasped together. If you're in a public place and don't wish to leave your bags on the bike, simply uninstall (which takes less than three minutes on most bikes), join the handles and you have a small, easy to carry pack.
I was very pleased with the overall fit and finish of these bags. The heavy nylon canvas-like outer shell looks rugged and ready to rumble over the trails, without the worry of scratches that comes with leather bags. I don't foresee them getting punctured easily either, which is a concern for me due to the jagged rocks and fallen tree branches that I regularly encounter on the trail. I'm not sure what the interior material is, but it is smooth with some cushioning to protect your cargo. There is reflective material on the trim as well, and as many of us bikers know, more visibility equals safety.
Since I haven't used them hard yet, I can only rate a "Good" on the durability, as I don't know how they will hold up the first time I dump it on a trail. However, they appear to be pretty tough and I think they will prove to hold up well for years of service. The zippers open and close easily and shouldn't fail anytime soon as long as they aren't abused.
Overall I give this product a straight "A" rating. This was a well thought-out, well designed product that I anticipate getting many years of hassle-free use from. I would recommend these to anyone that needs a pack rig for their sport bike or dual sport, or even a cruiser if a more rugged look doesn't bother you. I have bikes of all styles, and although I plan to use these mostly with the KLR, will not hesitate to use them with my other bikes.
Overall, a great quality product!
Yes, I recommend this product.
