Alpinestars Soho Gore-Tex Boots
Look fantastic, feel great, and so-so protection
I got these because I'v started to spend more time in New York (Soho specifically). I generally ride a Monster, but for New York a Vespa scooter is more practical. Therefore, lowered my protection threshold for this purchase.
These look fantastic in jeans. In fact, I purchases these over a pair of non motorcycle boots just to wear even when off-bike.
Build and durability is excellent, better than other Alpinestars, which I generally find to be fantastic already.
Comfort is excellent. These really feel better than fashion boots. Arch support good, and amount of cushion is excellent. These really mold to and stretch to the shape of your foot.
These are more "American" in fit than other Italian boots. They are certainly wider than most Italian footwear. These feel better than Dainese footwear, which do not have as much cushion or arch support. (I find that DAINESE foot stuff have a kind of concave aspect to their soles; the medial and lateral aspects of the sole are actually a mm or 2 higher than their central aspect, such that the middle of the foot is relatively unsupported.)
These hug the feet well, but there is no mechanism for tightening the foot portion of the boot. As a result, if you have "short" feet (vertically), there may be some slip in the heel cup. There is excellent adjustability--afforded by a full-length velcro flap--in the calf.
Protection-wise these are so-so. They are adequate for city scooter riding, but I would not take theses on a highway or go for long distances. In a crash, the Sohos would provide good protection to the heel and toes, marginal protection to the shin, and good protection to the foot itself (metatarsals), and slight protection to the ankle. The toe and heel support are not steel, but they are slightly rigid. Still, I am able to overcome their rigidity with my thumb and make them "dent in." There is no real shin support--perhaps a thin layer of padding, but not much more.
I also purchase the Alpinestars Supertech Touring boot for comparison, and I ended up returning the Supertech Touring. The Soho's offer just as much protection, are less bulky, are easier to don, are lighter, and are simply more practical.

Great boot! Well made, nice styling, good fit.
I wear an 8.5 to 9 in men's shoe and have a more narrow foot. I added a footbed and have a very nice fit and have good contact and feel on the clutch, which is important to me. These boots are made very well and the leather is very nice. It's a great looking boot and the side velco adjustments is an excellent feature. They certainly aren't cheep, but this boot has been a pleasure to wear so far. It's probably my go to boot for longer rides, even with the minimal anke protection. Ventilation doesn't really exist, aside from the goretex and I am not sure how these will perform on a warm day, but I have other boots for that. I also have SIDI adventures and BMW City boots, so these fit perfectly between the two pair I already have. Honestly, I can't say anything bad about these boots. I also think the styling is very nice, classy and unique. I don't feel like I'm wearing a dorky motorcycle boot.

It's a simple very well made boot that has Gortex.
I like these boots becuase they can be worn all day and really don't stick out like a sore thumb looks wise. Very well made and I know they will last a long time.

Beautiful Boots for protection under dress clothes
Reason for purchase:
I really wanted a pair of boots that would function well for commuting and touring. Because I wanted a boot that could 'do it all' for me, I chose a Gore-Tex boot with a design language that communicates sophisticated business casual. I have fairly skinny calves and so I loved the double adjustment afforded by the velcro and zipper openings. You can zip them up, set the fit with the velcro, and then leave them at that adjustment. After which, only the inside zipper is needed. The zipper also does not have velcro closure over it, which makes the on and off really quick. Also, with fitted khaki pants, the boots do not show or bulge through the pant leg. Although, there is no venting, your feet do not get overly sweaty. I imagine riding this winter will be great, but I assume Phoenix summer will be uncomfortable.
The fit and finish is top quality. They are assembled in Croatia of Full-grain leather, which really is beautiful and classy.
I want to say that the ankle and shin protection that is mentioned in the description is very, very light. You really can't even tell anything is beneath the leather unless you really try to look for shadows along the outside. To put it simply, it is thick leather with very thin plastic under. This is something I was disappointed to find.
I have medium wide feet, and usually wear 10 - 11 US in most shoes. I ordered the 44 EUR, and they seem slightly too big. I put in some orthotic insoles which snugged up the fit.

It's rare to find a pair of motorcycle boots that require no break-in period. To find a pair that are well made and attractive is extraordinary.

nice, quality boot
NIce looking boot with WP characteristics. I've worn these for multiple hours walking (in cooler weather), and they are very comfortable. I wear them at work too, as they don't have buckle / motocycle boot look.
