First of all I was very impressed with the knowledge of the sales staff there. I was looking for an everyday riding boot that was as good on the bike as it was walking around and they suggested these. I was impressed with them right out of the box. I usually wear a size 12 shoe and have a wide foot so when I tried on a 12 to my surprise it was actually to big and ended up with a 11 1/2 which is a euro 46. I wore them for a couple hours around the house expecting them to pinch the top of the foot or get uncomfortable and the never did. The construction of them so far seems to be really well done and I choose the SMX2 because of the latch system versus the velcro strap on the SMX1. In short I could not be happier with this product and would recommend it for an everyday rider boot or for those spirited weekend runs.

Big feet?? This ones for you!
I wanted a boot I could wear while riding aggressively on the track, but one I could also slip into the office without my coworkers thinking I live in the matrix.<br>Comfortable and stylish the steel rod base and the incredible ankle support with rachet adjustment makes you feel safe and warm and cuddly... in your boots that is, because elsewhere you are an epic figure of dark awesomeness.<br>But really with these boots on, walking is as easy as shifting. The shift pad helps a lot, I can't count how many shifts I missed last season but these measure perfectly.<br>My biggest concern was sizing. I'm a size 15 in most shoes and really wanted a sleek look SIDI esque boot with slightly less flash and a comfortable for for a wider foot fit for a guy like myself. To my pleasant surprise the 50 needed no breaking at all. I'd have to say as a true 14Wide or 15Medium in shoe size these are spot on.<br>Looks and cost are about on par for a boot with great breathability, durability, ridability, and safety features. My ONLY complaint is that the ratcheting system is scary secure sometimes almost feeling like I have to apply excessive force to open it. Though, not necessarily a bad thing.<br><br>Hope I was helpful!

Great Boots for the $$$
I've ridden about a dozen times with these boots and all I can say is ...wish I'd bought them a long time ago. These boots are awesome, well made and stylish. I ride in the South and with temperatures near 100 degrees and my feet stay very comfortable, cool, and dry. I'd suggest following the Revzilla sizing chart and they will fit fine. They're well worth the cost.

Definitely worth the money.
I have put about 200 miles on these boots in the two days since I received them. I am very satisfied. This morning I have never been as cold as I was bombing down the highway, but at least my feet were warm :). They do pinch a bit over the toe but I think that will go away as they break in. The only thing I could possibly complain about is that I did manage to drag a toe while shifting through a tight corner and it did chew up the leather on the toe more than I would have guessed based on how it felt, but that can really be chalked up to a my bad. I wouldn't necessarily recommend these for hard riding, but for a good boot that can be worn at work or out on the town, these are great.

GREAT boots, very comfy, well worth it
These boots are awesome...I ride a supermoto and they are very comfortable while still offering great support. I wear them commuting and also on long weekend rides. They are very easy to get on and off thanks to the side zipper and velcro. I have tried other boots in this price range and these are my favorite.<br><br>Anyone who rides in sneakers NEEDS to upgrade to something like this. Riding in anything but boots is dangerous (if you fall at decent speed you will surely sprain your ankles if not break them).<br><br>These are comfortable enough to wear all day even walking around in them.<br><br>Sizing:<br>I suggest going by the Revzilla sizing charts because thats what I used and the boots fit me great (I think they run slightly large) I wear a size 12 shoe in most brands so I ordered the EURO size 46 and they were perfect. I also ride motocross and I wear a Alpinestars size 11 mx boot (which I believe is 45.5 EURO)

Really can't say anything bad!
Takes a few rides and walk-abouts to break it in. But very comfortable on the pegs and a boot you can wear all day without killing your feet.<br><br>I really like the adjustable clip across the top. It helps make the boot just a bit more snug where I need it.

Great riding shoes/boots, very comfortable, super light and trendy. A bit bulky for slim/skinny jeans because of thick insulation at the top but felt good wearingit from day 1.<br><br>I will recommend and buy next version of the SMX 2 def!

Overall great quality & craftmanship
I was looking for a shorty boot that was comfortable to walk in but didn't sacrifice protection and I found it in the SMX-2. I have purchased and used many other manufacturer's products but always opt for A-Star beecause I know I'm getting a quality product that will not break the bank (although a bit disapointed with the "made in China" tag).<br>Sizing: I typically wear a 46 euro (12 US) for all riding/racing boots but the size 46 felt a little large (wide width and a large toe box) so I called Revzilla to get some input. It was suggested I order one size down so I did- good advice since I am much happier with the fit. As always Revzilla honored its return policy and within days my account was credited!!!<br>Revzilla Rocks!!! I don't shop anywhere else!

Fred1129 on Jun 29, 2014
Because Alpinestars is a quality brand and these boots are highly recommended.
Ray D on Jun 25, 2014
I chose these because of the prince, the reviews and the look. They are very comfortable. My only issue is they need another strap-down ratchet latch below the one manufactured--which should be up a little higher, which would really offer a tight grip. I bought another pair after these, which were discontinued on Revzilla but that I found on another website, which had a two-strap ratchet system and fit superbly with great support!

I see the white version is vented but the others version are waterproof?
A shopper on Jan 23, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Alpinestars S-MX 2 Boots will hold up against a light drizzle, but they are not waterproof.
Measured on a Brannock Devise (foot measure) I am a true US 9D. However, I find that I often need an 8.5 in shoes without laces to prevent heal slipping. I currently wear a pair of AlpineStar One O One riding shoes. They are lace ups and the US size 9 fit perfectly. But since these shoes don't have laces and since the European to US chart doesn't shot a conversion for 8.5, I'm not sure what size to order. Should I go with the 42 which Revzilla says is like a US 8 or go with the 43 which Revzilla says is like a 9 to 9.5?

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
A shopper on Oct 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Greetings,

I checked all of my daily wear shoes and I wear a US size 9. Each pair of shoes fit comfortably throughout the day. Having said this, I own two pairs of Alpinestars footwear.

1) Alpinestars miglia shoes - The tag says US 9 / EU 42. These shoes fit perfectly, as if they were custom made for me.

2) Alpinestars S-MX 2 Boots - The tag says US 6.5 / EU 40 These shoes also fit perfectly, as if they were custom made for me.

So, my conclusion is that the Alpinestars sizing chart for the shoes differs from the boots. I would go for a size EU 40 / 41 in the S-MX 2 Boots...

Hope this helps.
To those of you who are a size 13 shoe, what size did you order these boots in, 47 or 48?
Alejandro R on Apr 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Dude. Order both and return one. It's Revzilla, bro.
SMX 1 or the SMX 2?? Looking for something that's comfortable on and off the bike but also has a good amount of protection. I live In Florida and the SMX 1 seems like it would have better air flow but SMX 2 appears a bit beefier thus being more productive. Thanks in advance.
Datwan H on Mar 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I went through the same thing. I bought the S-MX 1 for the same reason -- I live in Florida too. You do feel the airflow on the top of your foot where it's the "mesh" material on the S-MX-1. I did try the S-MX 2 on and they are beefier (I do like the moto-X type buckle) but the airflow on the S-MX 1 was the winner for me. Walked around during Daytona Bike Week with them, no problems, at least for me. Bottom line, you can't go wrong with either boot.
Is this boot fine for wide feet?
A shopper on Nov 2, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Alpinestars boots tend to run slightly narrow and especially in their sport-boot line up. If you have very wide feet, you might want to look at a TCX boot, which tend to run wider than Alpinestars. As WallE replied below, if your foot width is no wider than a 4E, these should work for you.
I am interested in the Alpinestars S-MX 2 Boots, I am Australian. My Shoe size in Aust is a 10 to 10.5, according to a guide I read that means I take a 11 to 11.5 in US size. Equaling it out it means I need either a 44 or 45 in EU size. I was thinking that a 44 would be better for after stretching and settling it would fit properly. Would this be the right size for me for these boots and would you agree with the conversion I have done? I really don't want to purchase the wrong size boots.
A shopper on Feb 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I cannot remember the conversion but what I can say is that I wear a US size 13 and bought the US 12.5 or size 48 and it was spot on in terms of fit... no stretching required and very comfortable to walk around unlike my cortech boots. Hope this helps.
? hi I take a size 7uk and have read that all the mx 2 are slightly larger, should I then order the EU size 40.thank you.
A shopper on Jul 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The boots do run a full size larger. I wear a size US 10 1/2 so I ordered the euro size 44.. The box says the US size in the 44 is 9 1/2. but they fit perfect so in actuality they are a 10 1/2. Hope that helps....
I wear a 7.5 to 8 in woman's sizes. What would the equivalent men's size be for me?
A shopper on May 1, 2011
BEST ANSWER: A 7.5-8 in womens would be a 6-6.5 in mens, so that converts to a 38-38.5 in European. Typically mens shoes fit wider than womens, so even though the 38 is on the small side, it should compensate for a thinner foot.
Are these made of leather?
Lisa C on Feb 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes
These good enough for track day?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No.
