Tryonic Feel 3.7 Back Protector

The Tryonic Feel 3.7 Back Protector belongs to the top in its class. The outstanding balance between CE Level 2 impact absorption and wearer comfort is due to the unique construction, and the lightweight components and ergonomics are second to none. The Tryonic Vertebra joint system connects the polypropylene outer shells, forming a rigid impenetrable shield and at the same time allowing for an unsurpassed freedom of movement. The EPS inner core ensures maximum energy absorption (< 4kN energy release), well within the CE Level 2 norm (< 9kN energy release). Another unique feature is the adjustable belt closure (Tryonic Custom Fit), ensuring a perfect fit for every rider.

The Feel 3.7 is also one of the most comfortable back protectors for high activity or hot weather riding due to CoolMax mesh fabric in the back. Performing down to minus 20 degrees Celsius, the Feel3.7 is the also perfect choice for a variety of winter sports activities.

Features:

  • Outer shell from CoolMax stretch mesh fabric surrounded by thermoformed padding
  • Polypropylene outer shell
  • EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) inner core
  • CE Level 2 (3,7kN) EN 1621-2 standard
  • Ergonomically shaped and molds to the contour of the body

  • Tryonic Vertebra joint system
  • Tested down to -20° C

I like it
It's nice. I put it on and forget it's there after like 4 seconds. Maybe 6 seconds. I'll have to try it on again and edit this post later.

There are some nifty snippy snappy straps that make it extra comfy and stay where i want it to.

One thing is that the waist strap seems to move around. I can't tell if that's because I have a six pack or because I'm actually fat. I'll get back to you and edit this, too.

I wear it under things (jackets... well.. just one jacket) so I don't really care how it looks. but it's neat looking. If i was a squid and wore this over my tank top while wearing flippy floppies I'm sure the ladies would love me and my armadillo armor. kisses everywhere I'm sure. I'll have to try and get back and edit this, too.

even under a jacket it breathes well. I haven't had too many sweaty back days. I'm in Los Angeles and it's been rather hot so that says a lot about it.

Overall it's awesome. if i crash and break it though I'll probably buy one that isn't one-and-done, because if i fall once and live then that means i can fall again and live, which means i'll probably keep falling, and hopefully living. If i do live, i'll get back to you and edit this.

A+ that they were able to break the 4kN mark. only other one i saw was that sub4 something by forcefield. Maybe if i wreck this one and live i'll try that one.

Inspires confidence
Excellent back protector. While I hope I never have to find out how well it protects, it feels like quality and is very sturdy. It fits well and follows the contours of your back while remaining rigid when load is applied to it. It breathes pretty well and you soon forget you are wearing it. Leaving home without it just seems like a dumb thing to do now that I have it.

Awesome choice for a standalone back protector.
I took a chance with buying this as there's very little information on them. I was pleasantly surprised after I took the dive. I am 5'10 with a slightly longer torso and slightly shorter legs, but I called any got recommended for a large. Fit is excellent goes under my suit quite well. The coverage is excellent and the level of protection is something I can dig. It is a one and done kind of back protector which is why it has slightly less value, but otherwise rocks. It moves super well with your body and the mesh back panel does a great job at keeping you as cool as possible. I can attest to that having used it at the track in 95 or so degree weather. Overall I think its a great product, its only real drawback is the one time use if in a crash, but otherwise everything about it is great.

seems great
This seems like good protection. It's my first back protector so I don't have anything to compare it to, but the high impact rating made my decision for me and I'm glad I have it. It's comfortable, I've had it on for a 4 hour ride and it didn't bother me at all. The only thing I don't like is the turtle-back I get with it under my Cortech Adrenaline jacket, but I would bet most good back protectors do this and protection is more important than style. The back protector on the outside looks pretty awesome, but you'll probably get a lot of questions too since you look like a power ranger or batman or something. I would definitely recommend this to friends and I hope I never have to use it.

Great product
This is a great back protector. Fits very well, I am 178cm and bought a medium. I was concerned about ventilation, but the protector seems to be designed well. My only issue is with the two straps that go below the armpits - they are too tight or I have big lats, there is no adjustment for these so I just leave them open (might cut them out alltogether). But the protector is great overall, allows arching your back comfortably without feeling restricted.

MONEY WELL SPENT
Luckily, I haven't had to try it's protection yet but i's extremely comfortable and I feel safe with it on. It's well made and I can't even tell I have it on. For bigger gutted guys, there is PLENTY of extra belly velcro adjustment. I'd make this purchase again and recommend it to anyone. My shoulders are much broader than what the measurements said but it still fits fine. I got a medium, for the back length measurement. I am 5'9 250lbs and it fit fine.

Awesime back protector
I wanted this so bad and they didn't have in stock. Fortunately for me one came up and I got it as soon as I could. It is the white with blue in size M and it is great. Really confortable and hast a lot of room to adjust. I'm 1.75 hight and weight 190 pounds and it feats me perfectly.

I was worried cause I saw one review that said the size M will not come with the elastic shoulder straps, this is NOT true. Mine is a size M and it has the adjustable shoulder " holders" and they fit correctly. I hope I never need to test it but is well built and it seems like its going to protect really well.

My friend got a Dainese BAP protector and if you compare them side to side you can see a really huge gap in difference from the Tryonic Feel 3.7 Back Protector as it is superior in protection, style and confort.

I WOULD REALLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE

2.) It's one of the highest rated spine protectors on the market right now.

I see that this product can work in extreme cold, but does it have a maximum temperature for the protection use? And is there an optimum temperature as well?
John F on Sep 7, 2014
Would this hold out well on a highway crash ?(75mph) and ce level 2 is hard plastic correct? so it would protect me from skidding down the road?
Chase5597 on Dec 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, just the back protector wont do it except for the areas it covers on your body. This is more for impact to your spine. A jacket over this would protect you from skidding.
Would the Tryonic feel 3.7 fit under the Rev'it stellar leather jacket? My stellar jacket is a size 50. I already have the seesoft back protector insert in my jacket but would rather have the extra protection this Tryonic provides... Also, would the bottom of it show?

Thanks!
A shopper on Aug 8, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Sorry for the delayed response....I was away last week attending the Canadian National Superbike races.......

I wore my Tryonic Feel 3.7 Back Protector under my Revit Hunter racesuit and it is extremely comfortable, once on you dont notice it at all .....it doesn't need much room and the adjustable straps make it fit perfectly.
Not sure if it would poke out under a jacket but if so only minimally and for the added protection it offers,,,,its a no brainer. Highly recommend it.

hope this helps
How thick is this back protector?
Troy V on Mar 27, 2016
How thick is this compared to the Forcefield Pro Sub 4? I have the Forcefield now, and I'd like to get something a little thinner without sacrificing protection if possible.
Scott F on Mar 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's a little thinner way more comfortable as well great protection as well I went down on the track last year and slid in my back and was perfectly fine
How would this fit with the Tornado 2 jacket. Is it too long for this jacket and should I get the rv insert instead? Both are ce lev 2 rated but this looks much sturduer....Also, is there a way to attach it to the jacket?

Can anybody tell me what the overall length of the medium and the large is?
Brian D on Oct 7, 2016
Hi Guys,

I'm looking to purchase a back protector.

I'm looking for something that covers the tail bone area.

Someone told me to buy see+
(little brother of this back protector)

i understand this back protector has a better rating!

before i purchase the see+

my question is does this protector cover the tail bone as well? (if it does) i rather purchase this product for more safety standards before i ride.

can anyone vaildiate tail bone covering?

cheers and a thank you to everyone that helps in advanace.

Cameran.
