Tryonic Feel 3.7 Back Protector

The Feel 3.7 back protector belongs to the top in its class; the outstanding balance between CE Level 2 impact absorption and wearer comfort due to its unique construction, lightweight components and ergonomic features are second to none. The patented Tryonic Vertebra joint system connects the polypropylene outer shells forming a rigid impenetrable shield and at the same time allowing for an unsurpassed freedom of movement. The EPS inner core ensures maximum energy absorption (< 4kN energy release), well within the CE Level 2 norm (< 9kN energy release). Another unique feature is the patented adjustable belt closure (T.C.F. Tryonic Custom Fit), ensuring a perfect fit for every rider.

The Feel 3.7 is also one of the most comfortable back protectors for high activity or hot weather riding due to the Coolmax mesh fabric in the back. As it performs up to minus 20 degrees Celsius, the Feel3.7 is the perfect choice for a variety of winter sports activities as well.

Features:

  • Outer shell from Coolmax stretch mesh fabric surrounded by thermoformed padding
  • Polypropylene Outer Shell
  • EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) inner core
  • CE Level 2 (3,7kN) – EN 1621-2 standard
  • Ergonomically shaped, follows the contour of the body fluently
  • T.C.F. – Tryonic Custom Fit closure system (patented)

seems great This seems like good protection. It's my first back protector so I don't have anything to compare it to, but the high impact rating made my decision for me and I'm glad I have it. It's comfortable, I've had it on for a 4 hour ride and it didn't bother me at all. The only thing I don't like is the turtle-back I get with it under my Cortech Adrenaline jacket, but I would bet most good back protectors do this and protection is more important than style. The back protector on the outside looks pretty awesome, but you'll probably get a lot of questions too since you look like a power ranger or batman or something. I would definitely recommend this to friends and I hope I never have to use it. February 26, 2014
Great product What is protecting your back?? I had a smash at over 100k and broke back in 2 places as it was protected by foam.... I now ride feeling safer, if I had that same smash I would , hopefully, walk away wearing this..... Your choice, your back November 11, 2013
I like it It's nice. I put it on and forget it's there after like 4 seconds. Maybe 6 seconds. I'll have to try it on again and edit this post later. There are some nifty snippy snappy straps that make it extra comfy and stay where i want it to. One thing is that the waist strap seems to move around. I can't tell if that's because I have a six pack or because I'm actually fat. I'll get back to you and edit this, too. I wear it under things (jackets... well.. just one jacket) so I don't really care how it looks. but it's neat looking. If i was a squid and wore this over my tank top while wearing flippy floppies I'm sure the ladies would love me and my armadillo armor. kisses everywhere I'm sure. I'll have to try and get back and edit this, too. even under a jacket it breathes well. I haven't had too many sweaty back days. I'm in Los Angeles and it's been rather hot so that says a lot about it. Overall it's awesome. if i crash and break it though I'll probably buy one that isn't one-and-done, because if i fall once and live then that means i can fall again and live, which means i'll probably keep falling, and hopefully living. If i do live, i'll get back to you and edit this. A+ that they were able to break the 4kN mark. only other one i saw was that sub4 something by forcefield. Maybe if i wreck this one and live i'll try that one. September 16, 2013
I feel protected I hope I never have to rely on this protection but at least I feel safe. Fits very well and feels very sturdy. April 12, 2013
Awesome This piece of equipment is not only sleek in design, but extremely comfortable. It has the perfect mixture of style, and protection. March 4, 2013
A++ Its a great product. It is really a bang for the buck. I really liked it. January 29, 2013
Awesome choice for a standalone back protector. I took a chance with buying this as there's very little information on them. I was pleasantly surprised after I took the dive. I am 5'10 with a slightly longer torso and slightly shorter legs, but I called any got recommended for a large. Fit is excellent goes under my suit quite well. The coverage is excellent and the level of protection is something I can dig. It is a one and done kind of back protector which is why it has slightly less value, but otherwise rocks. It moves super well with your body and the mesh back panel does a great job at keeping you as cool as possible. I can attest to that having used it at the track in 95 or so degree weather. Overall I think its a great product, its only real drawback is the one time use if in a crash, but otherwise everything about it is great. June 25, 2012
Chest guard connection not available Do yourself a favor and go with a product that offers both chest and back protection in one. June 19, 2012

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Samuel K: Reasons I chose this:
1.) The gray one looks like the health indicators from Dead Space
2.) It's one of the highest rated spine protectors on the market right now.

A shopper asked: Would the Tryonic feel 3.7 fit under the Rev'it stellar leather jacket? My stellar jacket is a size 50. I already have the seesoft back protector insert in my jacket but would rather have the extra protection this Tryonic provides... Also, would the bottom of it show?

Thanks!

Adolfo S: Sorry for the delayed response....I was away last week attending the Canadian National Superbike races.......

I wore my Tryonic Feel 3.7 Back Protector under my Revit Hunter racesuit and it is extremely comfortable, once on you dont notice it at all .....it doesn't need much room and the adjustable straps make it fit perfectly.
Not sure if it would poke out under a jacket but if so only minimally and for the added protection it offers,,,,its a no brainer. Highly recommend it.

hope this helps

Trevor B: I use the tryonic with an agv sport monza leather jacket. It is snug but it fits fine. Honestly, I would need to see your jacket on you. If there is an inch or two you should be good. Rev zilla will let you return it if you don't mark it, or take the tags off. Aug 17, 2013

Andrew C A: Hi there!
I only wear my Tryonic protector under my Joe Rocket 1 piece leathers, so I really don't know the answer to your question. It fits great with the leathers though!
Sorry I'm not much help to you!

Drew

Nick R: It is uncomfortable under a jacket and the Velcro is unreliable. It always opens while in use. Aug 14, 2013

A shopper asked: I am interested in the Tryonic Vest Feel 3.7 but there is no much info on it.

- what sort of padding does it have (apart from back protector obviously)?
- where is the padding located? Anything over the collarbone, ribs, chest, hips etc?
- how does it compare to the Alpinestars Track Protection Vest (apart from the obvious back protector)?
- how thin is the back protector itself, comparing to the Alpinestars Bionic Back protector?

Thanks
