Money cannot buy happiness. But you can buy these shoes, which is a close second.
Let's take some time together, you and I, to reflect on life. Life is full of ups and downs. Maybe your life seems to be only made of downs. Obviously this isn't true. Common sense tells us it's obviously not true. But it might FEEL true. Isn't it time that someone respected your FEELINGS? Isn't it time that someone gave you a pat on the back for TRYING? Isn't it time that someone held you close and told you that despite all of the clear indicators of your failure that you were still worthy of kindness, of decency, of a shared voyage on this spaceship we call Earth?

Well this time has come, and that someone is this pair of shoes.

And let's be clear. These are shoes. These are not boots. Stop calling them boots. Stop talking to your mom about the motorcycle boots you were looking at earlier today when you should have been listening to your program manager during that webinar. You shouldn't even have any other tabs open. Just listen to the webinar. Just listen. Internalize it. Take notes.

No, these aren't boots. They're shoes. But they are so much more than that. They are adventure incarnate, a triumphant reminder of the excitement and wonder that is inherent to the human soul. We are all explorers, in a sense. You might not be an explorer, or have even owned a Ford Explorer, but I guarantee you that you've known someone who owned a Ford Explorer. Or maybe you're a descendant of the great explorers of antiquity: Magellan, Columbus, Lewis and Clark. Your soul yearns for the untouched frontier, the unexplored boundary. And you want to push this envelope of self-exploration with the same panache and gravitas that you apply to every other aspect of your life. You're a cool customer, right? These shoes are your ticket on the express train to cool-ville. Let me explain why.

When you open the box, the first things you're going to notice is the wrapping paper. Feel that quality? That's Italian quality. See that small rubberized logo imprinted on the side? That's the Italian flag. Slowly caress the suede upper. Smell that? That's Italian suede. This shoe is made in China, in the same sense that Barack Obama was "born" in Kenya. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where it came from because it 100% quality.

This shoe is rock solid. All of the components are well crafted and the construction is seamless. I mean that in a figurative sense, there are many seams which hold all the different parts together. Well technology one day progress to the point where we can builds shoes that are literally seamless? Probably. But I'm going to guess that you will grow old waiting for it. Let me assure you, these shoes will outlast even the most pernicious procrastinator. Postponing the possibility of a perfect pair of seamless shoes, you might be asking yourself one question: What about the waterproofability? What about, indeed...

I don't want to be the one to say that these shoes will keep your feet dryer than Justin Bieber's mouth at 3 o'clock in the morning, but someone has to be that person, and let's be honest: I'm probably the most qualified. These shoes are so waterproof that you are going to begin to wonder if "water" was a fictional substance all along, made up by a McCarthy-era government to instill a fear of private swimming pools in the hearts of black people living in the North. You will literally begin to wonder if even the tears of the Virgin Mary could penetrate this mighty fortress of aquatic invulnerability.

However, there is a slight problem here. The same barrier that keeps the rain out also plays a critical hand in keeping moisture in. This means that your feet will sweat and will also smell. Is this a deal breaker? It may be, for some, especially those with extra sensitive noses. I've found that the problem is not overwhelming, and at highway speeds the shoes do begin to breathe more. Certainly these shoes will breathe better than a full-leather riding boot. And they'll look better too.

Which brings us to the crux of the argument. Why buy these shoes when you can buy a full length leather boot? Why buy a full length leather boot when you can buy a poly-acrylic armored leg-cast with kevlar inserts? Why buy anything? Why not wear your old pair of jordans? Why not wear your Chukkas with your cafe racer? Why not bring a messenger bag along with you? Why not Nader? Why not? What's so special about the two party system? I used to buy coffee at Starbucks before it was popular. I watch Steve Ballmer give talks on Vimeo.

Essentially this boot is a compromise. And compromise is often a dirty word in America. But we do it ALL the time. And in my mind, this is a compromise I'm happy to make. You will look good on and off the bike with these shoes. Will you look as good off the bike as if you were wearing regular sneakers? Of course not. Are these as performance-oriented as the latest Power Rangers offerings from AlpineStars? Of course not. But they're really not a bad buy. And they'll keep your feet nice and dry, comfy and protected during the inevitable social revolutions to come. So relax and pull up a chair at the table of compromise. Just make sure to wipe your shoes off first, they're absolutely filthy.

Best Looking Moto Shoe Impersonating as a Chuck Taylor
First of all I have to say when ordering with Revzilla, I am always confident that they will be professional with delivery and communication. I tried ordering the TCX X-Rap during the holidays but they were out of stock, submitted my email address with Revzilla to inform me when they would replenish and just a couple of weeks after the holidays they emailed me back informing me they had them back in stock. I appreciate that.

Upon learning that the X-Rap was back in stock, I immediately ordered a pair with the Revzilla gift certificates I accumulated during the holidays from family. I'm a size 9.5 U.S. in most shoes so after reading and watching reviews, I was determined to get the 43 which by the sizing guide indicates that it accommodates a US size 9. Ordered them and the shoes came within a week.

I'm happy with the sizing. Surprisingly, there is some wiggle room in the toes but not much. Just enough for my feet to feel comfortable. After tightening/lacing up the shoes, I felt no pinching or cramping. The padded collar reduces all of that. I'm happy to report that these are very comfortable. There is a slight forward lean. They kind of feel like wearing snowboard boots although they aren't bulky like a snowboard boot. I feel they offer adequate ankle support and protection. When lacing up and out of the shoe, all that is needed is to loosen/tighen up the ankle portion of the shoe. The quality is high in the stitching and leather as well as the sole. My only wish is that they offered a little more traction.

After a week of commuting in wet weather, the X-Rap kept my feet dry and warm. The shoes offered a good feel on the foot controls, much like wearing basketball shoes but with added protection. I own a pair of the brown colored Icon Truants and would have to say that the X-Rap feels and looks better with the Truant offering more protection. These are by far the best looking moto shoe that is trying to look like a Chuck Taylor Converse shoe/skate shoe for that matter. People that don't ride or know that I ride have complimented me on the shoe. Another wish is for the X-Rap to be offered in the same tan/brown color as the Icon Truant. TCX reps, are you reading this?

Overall, it was worth the wait and I am highly satisfied with the X-Rap. I would buy another pair if and when the time comes to replace them.

Excellent as a city riding boot
Sizing first, I wear a 43 and the 43 fit like a glove. Quite comfy out the box and break in period was about a day.

They look excellent under my Dainese D6 jeans and you would never even tell I'm on a bike.

Protection is adequate and I find it a good trade off for city riding, like catching a movie or going for dinner. I feel like I could do a fair amount of walking in these. My Dainese Torques are used for more spirited rides.

The shoes are slightly warm on a cool Fall day, so I am expecting to have sweaty feet on a summers day. I'll have to look into a good pair of summer socks. I would have also liked a slightly beefier toe box.

Other than that, you simply cannot do better at this price point.

Sweet shoes
These look like very high, old school Jordans but have the protection that you need to feel safe around town. I just got these and I cannot believe how nice they are. The look, the feel, the stiffness - it's a there. I wear a size 9.5 in most sneakers/shoes and I ordered the 43. The fit is perfect. The Hi Viz laces are kinda weak as I would prefer white as the alternate. But the black laces that it comes with look great. Solid 5 stars for these shoes and for the service/delivery - thanks RevZlla!

An excellent PNW riding shoe
First off some details,
so you understand where
my perspective comes from:

I am 30yr old male.
5 foot 7 inches 184lbs.
Size 10.5 (US) Feet

From: Washington state.
The temperatures have ranged from 30F to 79F. I was caught in MANY rainstorms the last few times I rode. I have also enjoyed many sunny days as hot as 79F

I have used this shoe in many riding conditions for hours at a time for a few months now. I feel after this much time I can give an accurate review.

Fitment:
My feet measurement is 10.5 but I ordered a 11.
Size 10.5 fit perfect at the store! I ordered the 10.5 at first but with the recommendation of Revzilla staff, because I was going to add a 3rd party sole, Superfeet, and summer Rev'it Socks I could move up to the size 11. The other two boots I had used extensively are the Icon Super Dutys, and the Sidi Vortices. Compared to the Super Duty they are WAY more comfortable and more protective. Compared to the Sidi they are less protective but way better for everyday use.In fitment the TCX is very similar to a hightop shoe that is comfortable at the ankle but very protective at the heel an toebox I would DEFINTELY recommend getting a insole such as SuperFeet if you plan on walking around. The footbed is flat and simple. It is nothing that will give you pain relief over the long term. When in the upright riding position on my Suzuki GS500 it was very comfortable. I would only feel tightness if I stood up or tried to stretch my foot, obviously this does NOT MATTER because the only position it should be judged upon is the riding position. DO NOT judge a boot if it’s tight when you are walking around. The shoe is meant to be in the riding position but its comfortable enough to be standing up for an hour or two walking around the bar or outside.

Ventilation:
The air flow is somewhere I think this boot lacks. Remember there is no increased ventilation you can buy. Compared to perforated leather shoe or a textile riding shoe this lacks ANY airflow. It is not incredibly bad but I can imagine in 90+ degree humid weather, such as Florida or dry heat such as Arizona, it would be uncomfortable to say the least. For my weather in Washington though it was completely fine. I bought the shoe for protection and for the rain. The airflow was sufficient. I haven't had an issue.

Water proof:
The shoe performed perfectly. I bought it exactly for those times I would be in Seattle and it would rain. One day I got caught in a huge downpour. Every part of my body was wet except my feet and head. I would like to add that even in the rain I got airflow. It did not feel like I was in a rubber suit sweating. It was comfortable and warm.

Build Quality:
The build quality is great! There are many fine details Anthony covers in the video review. Suffice it to say I did not think this shoe was lacking in anything here. It was above and beyond what was necessary. There are plenty of points of protection, you should add a insole such as SuperFeet if you plan to walk around, it is waterproof, and with the separate riding socks you could even make this shoe usable in 70+degree weather.

Overall, I really like this shoe. All the functions advertised by TCX are true to their words and I'm glad I chose this shoe my guilty pleasure.

I might just wear these around town this winter!
I had these boots and two Icon, more aggressive style, boots on my wish list. The Cyber Monday deal came up on these for a whopping $50+ off so I nabbed them up. Weeks prior I chatted with a gear geek and emailed with another showing them my wishlist boots and asking their $0.02 and going off Anthony's assessment in the video review. They both emphatically suggested these boots for style/comfort and given my scenario of riding twists here in CO, bar runs, and commuting quite a bit (plus hooligan things).

These are a Christmas gift to me so I opened them immediately to check the size since I was nervous about it being Euro sizing and my 12-13 US size foot. But thanks again to Revilla's awesome review slider bars, Anthony's video and the chat I had with the two gear geeks, I settled on the 47/12.5 size and girl, I nailed it. I put them on, walked around, sat on the Super Duke, pretended to ride it (it's snowing here now, I'm having withdrawals); all felt really good. I put a tick down on the footbed to narrow since they looked narrower than say, an athletic shoe, but they were not tight on the sides even with my wide-isn foot.

The boots have a nice high upper for protection and to keep my ankles from showing all the boys in the yard while I ride, I ain't no holla back girl. For more detail on it's protection, watch the video review, it's all there and feels solid.

Some of the details I liked (see in photos I took) is they came weathered looking on the white sole. This is nice because 1) it's freaking white. That would last about 5 seconds. But since it's a gray patina on it, it looks great. Also the details in the leather, you can tell it's good quality and the stitching/non-leather parts are just really solid looking.

Seriously might just wear these bad boys around town if it's wet or something since they are WP too.

Photo information: all have been edited a bit for contrast and color to show details.

Good practical wear boot
I wanted boots that would give me a good feel for the brake and shifter, while still providing a reasonable level of protection. These boots do just that. Feedback from the pegs and controls is great and protection is better than you might think.
I wear a consistent 10.5 D. I ordered size 44 which fits like a roomy 10.5. I wouldn't want them any larger.
Concerning breathability, I would expect these to behave like an all-leather hiking boot. Wear moisture wicking socks in hot weather.
These are great boots for their intended use.

Saved me in a crash
I recently low-sided my bike on the street. My right foot got caught under the bike, but the reinforced toe and stiff ankle protection kept my toes or ankle from breaking. I need to buy new laces because those got shredded, but otherwise I'm super happy I bought these boots. I can wear them around during the day, and other than the fact that the ankle doesn't flex they're pretty comfortable and stylish.

Safeth and style RUN together / Big thumbs up!
These shoes/boots have quickly become some of my favorite riding gear. First, they do run a size large. I ordered a size smaller than my normal shoe size and they fit perfect. TCX's slogan of “Safety and style run together” sums it up perfectly. See attached photos. Came with black and neon green laces.
I was quite frankly blown away by the quality, fit, styling, and precision on this boot by TCX. The following sums up my review;
As protective riding boots – Thumbs up
As fashion statement – Thumbs up
As sneakers – Thumbs up
As casual wear – Thumbs up
For riding – Thumbs up
Reinforced build for comfort and sturdy use - it delivers 100%
Quite frankly this pair should be owned by every rider out there. I will order another pair...in a slightly different color.
I highly recommend, especially at this sale price.

Great alternative to the available women's shoe
I'm not into pink accents, which was all I was finding on similar women's shoes and went with the Brown/Grey male version. I'm a 7 1/2 but went with the 39 and they're still about a half size too big but not uncomfortable or awkward.

These are great for riding and walking around and I can easily get my jeans down in them. I haven't been out in the rain with them yet but they breathe just fine in the heat.

My riding footwear has always been either a ratty pair of chucks, (can't recommend this) or leather work boots. Finally ready to upgrade, and these checked all the boxes. Style, protection, waterproofing, and I like the bit of high-viz flair. I am apprehensive about how much traction these will have with the flat soles, but they were on sale and are a definite improvement over sneakers.

Do these boots have decent ankle protection? My current riding shoes have an exposed ankle so I know these will be better than my current but in comparison to other short boots.

BEST ANSWER: My ankles are covered, and these go even a bit higher than the ball of my ankle. There are basic plastic protectors built in on the medial and external sides. I think ankle protection is as good as you'll get on a riding shoe and better than a whole lot a boots in cheap to mid $$ range really.
Hi, these boots look amazing but I like the boy colors better than the 1 girl color. The sizing chart seems to imply that the fit is unisex. Is this true? I'm a 6.5 which is a 38. Of course proper fit is more important than color so I just want to make sure before I buy! Thank you

BEST ANSWER: When will Motorcycle Shoe (Accessory for that matter) marketing teams realize that women riders DO NOT always want PINK on everything that fits them? I hear you Emily L... I don't like the pink ones either. Bummer too b/c these are really cool shoes, but it kind of defeats their purpose of "sizing" the female version of the shoe to fit a woman's foot if I'm more interested in the men's color varieties.
How does this shoe compare to the X-Street WP shoes?
A shopper on Oct 22, 2013
BEST ANSWER: These are taller and have different colors. Same protection.
How do you think the TCX X-rap compares to the Icon 1000 Truant for protection?
Edward H on Sep 12, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I own both shoes.

The Truant offers slightly more protection than the X-Rap but the X-Rap laces up higher than the Truant. The X-Rap feels like wearing a slim version of a snowboard boot whereas the Truant feels more like a heavy, bulky work boot.
Is the tongue completely linked to the sides? Will water seep in through the gap between the tongue and the sides?
A shopper on Feb 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The tongue is not completely linked in to the sides. It is possible to have it seepin in through the sides but I just put my pants over them and they work great. My foot always stays nice and dry. They are also very comfortable.
Does this shoe have good air flow for the summer?
Ivan K on May 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They do not flow much air and I ended up buying a canvas style shoe for riding in temperatures above 80F because of that. In temperatures below 80F, they are my favorite shoe that I own and I wear them every chance I get. They are the most comfortable motorcycle shoe/boot that I have tried.

When I wear them to ride to work, once I get there, I will unlace the top three rings and let the tongue flap down to breathe a little easier throughout the day. Then I lace them up all the way for the ride home.

Overall, I think everyone should own a pair but if you are looking for a summer shoe only, this isn't it.
How are the soles as far as traction on wet or dry streets?
A shopper on Apr 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Very good traction on dry streets. I haven't yet tried them on wet streets, but the soles are great and I don't think you'd have a problem with wet ground. Overall, you should know that these shoes are AWESOME. So comfortable right out of the box. And the leather is so durable that despite riding with them all the time, there ain't a scuff on them. With these riding shoes, I went a half size smaller than my daily shoes for the perfect fit. Great buy in my opinion.
I have a pair of Dainese Torque RS Out Boots in a Euro 42 which are a tight fit, do TCX use a similar foot sizing? Would I be safe ordering these boots in a Euro 42?
Haydn on Jan 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The size is the same. It may in fact be a hair more fitted.
I live in So. Cal. So there isn't much rain here until November & December. My question is, should I buy a "Summer" Boot for the hot months of the year, and use this one for the Winter months? I heard that this boot doesn't breathe too well. I just want a boot that I can keep on all day after I arrive to work at the office.
Thomas M on Sep 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'd buy a second pair of summer boots. Wearing these boots for more than 3 or 4 hours during the hotter months really made my feet sweaty and gross.

Alternatively, you can use these boots in the summer if you keep a pair of work-appropriate shoes near your work area and just swap out, which is what I do.
I wear a 10 1/2 chuck (1 size down from my normal size of 11 1/2). Would a 45 or 44 fit me better? I'm concerned because if I go by my size in most shoes / sneakers I probably should go 45.... however, if these fit like a chuck a probably should go 44.
A shopper on Apr 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: If it helps I wear a 9 in my all-stars, and I got the 43 (US 9) they fit perfectly. First thing you should do though is get some more comfortable insoles, the TCX ones will remind you of walking barefoot on concrete.
