TCX R-S2 EVO Boots

With the TCX R-S2 EVO, TCX went back to the drawing board and added many key features to what was already a great top of the line race boot.

The TCS (Torsion Control System) allows lateral and longitudinal movement of the ankle within physiological limits, preventing excessive torsion and the risk of injury to the rider's foot. Now featuring Carbon Tech to reduce weight and increase control of the ankle and leg. The new upper joint improves boot flexibility while increasing shin and calf protection.

The revolutionary PAFS (Precise Air Fit System) has been redesigned for faster inflation. This system allows any rider to customize the fit of the boot while increasing comfort.

The MCS (Metaltarsal Control System) has been designed to prevent excessive bending upwards or downwards in the metatarsal areas. The system is equipped with a wear resistant aluminum alloy slider that is easily interchangeable.

The FFC (Fasten Fit Control) is a internal fastening system featuring laces joined to the boot lining. It secures the riders foot in the boot maximizing protection. This works in synergy with the PAFS (Precise Air Fit System)  to offer a superior comfort and an adjustable fit according each riders individual foot anatomy.

Features:

  • Breathable and high wear resistant
  • Microinjected inserts
  • Padded front and rear area for a better comfort and flexibility
  • Double compound soft padding around the ankle area
  • Polyurethane shin plate with mesh air intakes
  • Polyurethane shift pad integrated in the sole

great for wide foot Great boot for a wide foot. Compared to the Sidi Air Vortex these fit a wide foot much better. And the liner is thicker, which can be removed to give you even more room if you need it. Inner boot / tie is a breeze to get in and out of. Much happier with both th function and the fit. Although have to say I dont think the air pump really is necessary or that it even makes a bit of difference. August 6, 2015
FINALLY! Tried different Dainese boots, no joy, too narrow, just not comfortable, one size too small, the other my heel would ride up inside the boot. Have been riding with Alpine Stars SuperTechRs. Great boot, while riding everything is okay. Problem for my feet is when OFF the bike for any extended time the protection plate mounted on the outside front of the inner booty digs into the side of my foot after a couple of hours standing or walking it's painful. These TCX EVOs are PERFECT for me, I can wear them all day. The quality is terrific, I was surprised when receiving them, even nicer than the Tech Rs. Protection for the shin is much better w/ the EVOs, they're a couple of inches taller but not heavier. The protection for the toe area is much better/harder in the EVOs. The replaceable aluminum allow sliders are incorporated into the boot much more intelligently than the Rs (plastic slider) and should last longer too. Also really like the tech that goes into the EVO, the way the MCS system prevents your foot/toes from bending back to far protecting your metaltarsals. The front to back motion is great but the Torsion Control System prevents side to side better than any boot I've seen. The Air Fit System slightly changes the fit when wearing jeans, you can feel a greater difference using the air bladder when wearing a racing suit or leathers tucked into the boot, sure this was the focus (track leathers) of the air system anyway. The EVOs feel better on my foot pegs too, the area of the sole where you land on the pegs is just slightly narrower on the EVOs, allows me to move around on the pegs w more confidence. I just dig the way they look too, even cooler in person. The biggest standout though is how comfortable they are. I usually wear a 10.5, sometimes an 11 depending on the shoe/sneaker. Ordered a 44 and couldn't be happier. My feet are slightly wide. Getting into them is simple & there's a trick to get them off easy just open them up and push down from the inside, if you try pulling them off from the outside its more difficult. The only downside is they are vented at the front but not at the foot like my Tech Rs,. Other than that I think these will now be my GO TO manufacturer now for a long time. I should have paid attention to Josh Hayes a long time ago. I took a few pictures w/ the EVO & Tech Rs together in equivalent sizing so people can see the difference. I love this newer TCX R-S2 EVO. Simply the most comfortable full boot I ever put on. See review summary, boots have the "Goldie Locks" not too big, not too tight fit, They fit perfectly and are the most comfortable I've ever worn. July 6, 2015
Best wide boot option I've struggled with boots for more than 20 years, and have probably worn 10 different brands over the years. I've gone the route of taking boots to a ski shop and had them heat/stretch/blowout the width, but it never really solves the problem as toe slider placement limits how much stretching they can do without deforming the toe slider. These TCX boots solve my width problem 100%. I usually wear an 11 in shoes, and ordered a 12 just to be safe, and added a thicker insole. I usually do this with all my ski and motorcycle boots anyways as it makes them much more comfortable to walk in, As for the features of this boot, I would say I am a little skeptical about the ankle protection, as the hinge system seems somewhat flimsy. When wearing these with my Dainese leathers, I find zipping them up to be difficult as there is very little flex in the upper, and I have to squeeze the boot close and work the zipper up inch by inch. It appears to be getting easier now that I have ridden in them for 2 weeks. They click when you walk, I don't care haha I can't say I really feel much in the way of ventilation from them. Again, not a big issue for me. The air bladder system doesn't seem to add much in the way of comfort, I just leave them deflated and they fit fine. July 1, 2015
Great Boots I've had my RS2 EVOs for a few months now. I've ridden them on a few spirited rides in the country, one track day, and commuted in them a couple of times. I feel these boots run slightly large - I typically wear an 11.5US so I ordered the 46 at first and they were huge. Thankfully Revzilla made the exchange easy and 2 days later I had my size 45, which fit perfectly! The inner bootie is terriffic - it does a great job of really locking your foot in place where you want it to be. There's nothing worse than a boot your foot floats around in when you lift your heel up. That being said, I can hardly feel a difference with the air bladders inflated vs. deflated. Maybe it's just the shape of my foot, or maybe it's a gimmick? Hard for me to say. Definitely need to break these suckers in - the first weekend trip I took in them left some pretty impressive marks across the front of my shin. At first they're also a MASSIVE pain to take on and off. Now that they're broken in, no problem! I could commute in these and not feel like I need to leave for work half an hour earlier to gear up and then gear down when I get there. I've had a problem with the zipper on one of the boots that RevZilla is mediating a warranty claim for - it felt like something was stuck in the zipper and on closer inspection it appears one of the teeth on the zipper has separated. Hopefully it gets sorted out and I get these things back on my feet soon! May 28, 2015
If you're looking for am alternative to Spidi or Astar, look no further! I've been loyal to TCX for years. Back when they were "Oxtar" boots. Fit and finish on these are absolutely first rate. The flexibility is first rate, The TCS system is, in my opinion the best on the market. Break in was just one canyon ride. The heel cup on these particular boot is very deep and will require extra "effort" to get then off after a ride but the feeling of support these boots give are far superior to anything else n the market. Extremely well made, high quality materials I bought these boots after searching long and hard for a boot with a wider foot bed. They fit my foot perfectly. My foot at the widest is just under 4 inches and I wear a size 11 in other shoes. The 45 is the perfect size for me with just enough wiggle room. I followed the size chart which I found to be accurate. The quality of these boots is absolutely amazing. The materials are top notch as well as fitment. Very impressive. I bought Alpinestars supertech-r's before these but they were too narrow for my foot. I am personally glad I got the TCX's instead because the supertechs quality was nowhere near as nice. Also the supertech are pretty ugly where as the TCX rs2's look awesome and have great style. BUY THESE AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! February 27, 2015
Top of the line comfort and features The TCX R-S2 EVO boots turned out perfect. They are very comfy for all day wear. They ventilate quite well and look great. The interior bootie was a perfect addition, as my heel tended to slide up getting up on my toes from time to time with the older generation. It also seems the new boots are sized a bit different now that the bootie is in place. Overall an outstanding boot. June 30, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Ken W: The Red TCX R-S2 EVO boots, are the perfect compliment when I'm riding my Red Panigale 1299 s, great foot protection, great looking, fits great, what else can you ask for. Jun 18, 2015
Andrew G: These are top notch quality and I always look for gear that will actually protect me in a crash, these are supposed to be some of the safest boots Mar 18, 2015
Alejandro m: Top of the line product, have tried TCX boots before and consider them extremely good. Apr 13, 2014
Gregory H: First of all I would have never known about these boots if it weren't for your knowledgable staff. After investigating the boot it was clear that the protective technology and comfort were/are amazing. I needed a top end track boot and after one ride I wasn't disappointed. Apr 13, 2014
A shopper asked: Hi! These boots seem to be a great buy from the reviews! But are these boots waterproof? I'm planning on doing long rides where I might have to face heavy rainfall. Are these boots any good with rain? Thanks! Apr 4, 2015

Dijon P: Hi,

These boots are really good in all conditions, I have used them in the rain and they have held up really well and I have stayed dry. If you wear these boots with leathers they go into the boots so there is potential for you to get wet feet depending on how much rain you encounter as the water may run down your leathers into your boots, but this will take a fair bit of water as majority of the time you are shielded by fairings. Touring pants slide over the boots and tend to be highly water resistant so no water will run down into the boots.

Hope this helps.

Gregory H: Absolutely not good waterproof boots. I love these boots and would recommend them for everyday summer riding and racing but these are not all weather endurance boots. I would look somewhere else if you want an all around but. However, that said the TCX boots are the most comfortable high intensity boot I've ever raced with. Apr 4, 2015

Chris B: No, not all all. These boots are perforated. No water barrier at all.
They do flow a good amount of air, so they might dry out quick.

TCX does make a water proof sport touring boot -the TCX S-Sportour Waterproof Boots. These are on closeout, so your size might be hard to find.
Good luck!

BRENT S: Never had them in the rain, but on the track they have a fairly decent airflow through the perforations, so I'm guessing they would leak based on that. Apr 4, 2015

Alfred M asked: How do these boots fit on larger calves? I have 17 inch circumference calves and with a race suit with shin armor, I definitely need the calf area adjustability. May 31, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Bradley P: My calves are 15.5 inches (first time I ever measured) and these boots have a lot of room for me. There is a Velcro adjustment for the calves as well as the air pump. These are great boots for dudes like me with (apparently) skinny calves. May 31, 2015

Davin E: I have 19" calves and these fit over my race suit. However, I don't have shin armor on my suit. Hope this helps. May 31, 2015

Tom P: You may want to order a size larger. I couldn't get my normal size to fit with my suit tucked in. May 31, 2015
