Spidi Venture H2OUT Jacket

The Spidi Venture is Spidi's mid-level 3-layer textile jacket designed for touring and enduro riding. This jacket is very versatile and suitable for a variety of riding conditions thanks to Spidi's Step-in-clothing system which utilizes a waterproof H2Out removable lining and removable thermal lining with an aluminum coating for superb, yet lightweight, insulation.

Made from high tech Tenax Polyamide fabric, it has CE armor in the shoulders and elbows; volume adjusters for the sleeves and waist; plenty of storage pockets and Spidi's unique collar closing system. High abrasion resistant Flex Tenax inserts in the shoulders, chest and underarms ensure you have the flexibility for a comfortable and safe ride. Upgradable with options that are available separately and include back and chest protectors as well as Spidi's safety light strip for improved night-time vision.

Whether you are ready to embark on a worldwide expedition, or a commuter who likes to be prepared for all eventualities, the Venture jacket is a perfect choice.

Seems Like a Nice Jacket - Just Didn't Work for Me Overall, I think this jacket is a solid deal at the closeout price. However, after having my hands on this jacket, I returned it due to personal preferences. Really no true fault of the jacket. The first problem I had was the sizing. It's pretty well stated that this jacket runs small so you need to order up a size. I'm a very similar build to the gentlemen wearing the jacket in the video above. I measure my chest at about 38", roughly 5'9" and 165lbs. I ordered a large and it was VERY tight. I'm typically a medium in other jackets but this Spidi in large was tight and restricting in the chest and arms. I just couldn't move freely. The jacket could have stretched out with time, but I didn't give it that chance. The second issue, which was the deal breaker for me, was the extremely #IMHO# high collar. Once the jacket was on, with all liners installed, there was a ton of material around my neck which made it difficult to move my head. So much so, that I found it hard to bend my head down to see the zippers and zip them up. So, again, if you're able to get the correct size and a high collar wouldn't bother you. This would be a fantastic jacket. It's light, soft, and it's easy to tell that it's materials and manufacturing processes are very high quality. December 10, 2014
Very nice jacket! This is a very well made jacket. I have had it for about three weeks and have only used it in cool weather. It is warm and very versatile. It runs a little on the small side so I ordered it one size bigger than normal. Has plenty of pockets and is designed well to keep cold air coming through the zipper areas. My only complaint is the left handed zippers. They are hard to get use to. They are very high quality zippers though, so once you get them started they zip right up. This jacket should last for many years because of the high quality. October 31, 2014
Great product, almost no complaints. To keep it short: Great product, perfect fit, I haven't found anything that it's advertised that isn't true, or has problems. The thermal liner is super comfy and extremely warm, I absolutely love it now that it's getting colder. My only problem: There was no indication (that I'm aware of) that the sleeve had straps on the inside to hold in the extra liners. When I tried pulling the liners out, one of them broke and I was sitting there pretty disappointed. Probably my fault, but just thought I'd add, in case someone else makes the same mistake. Despite that, I absolutely love this jacket! Wish I could have had it in black! October 6, 2014
Great Jacket Has been perfect with our cool Summer in the northeast. Can be too warm on a hot day in traffic especially in black. But is still cooler than expected. Looking to using the liners in cooler weather. September 1, 2014
AWESOME!! This is the first motorcycle jacket I've ever gotten where I'm completely happy with it! So happy I'm actually writing a review. Fit is fantastic. I'm a slimmer guy and I've been trying to find a textile jacket that doesn't make me look like a dad on an ADV bike. The pictures don't do the jacket any justice and neither does the revzilla video. It was a little pricey, but I feel like I bought three jackets in one. Perfect and stylish enough for commuting. I really like the crotch straps that keep the jacket from riding up. I really feel like this is going to last me a long time before I want a new jacket. Best part is the fact that it will take the CE2 Warrior Armor and the chest plate. August 13, 2014
So far So good The Features are great. The wind blocking excellent. I haven't been rained on yet so haven't tested the rain liner but the thermal liner works quite well. At 50 degrees I was cozy. No need to add extra layers. Venting works well in 80 degree heat. Am 5'11" 180lbs and the XL fit very well. Complaints: The thermal liner only attaches to the rain liner and not the jacket. The rain liner zipper doesn't integrate into the jacket so you have to zip separately. There are three different neck snaps when all the pieces are in play. The outer sleeve pocket is on the left arm and not the right - I don't have cruise control so find this less useful than a pocket I could access on the right arm. Also, a clear panel and headphone path from a right arm pocket to the collar would be nice. June 9, 2014
Great Form and Function This jacket is great. Very easy to remove the liners, good arm and waist adjustments. The fit and finish is fantastic, excellent attention to detail. I am a very typical medium in all clothing, I watched the video, and ordered a large. I'm very glad I went up a size, and even in this size, it's a close, but good fit. Definitely go up one or two. If you take out the thermal liner, the rainproof liner has a sticky/rubbery feel - I don't doubt that it breaths and is waterproof, but it doesn't feel great next to skin. My biggest complaint is that the zipper is on the opposite side to most mens american jackets, makes using the zipper a little awkward. May 8, 2014
Best riding jacket I've ever owned! Wow what can I say. I was looking for a 3+ season jacket and the Spidi venture hit the spot. I've owned Spidi gear before and they make some of the best gear. Pros Loaded with features. The whole jacket is comfortable to the touch. I usually have problems with the neck rubbing wrong but the jacket is soft. The construction is top notch. It's a very rich looking jacket. Pockets are numerous and easy to access. I rode in 40 degree weather with just a T shirt and the jacket was warm and comfortable. Venting is numerous and I'm sure the summer heat won't be a problem. Cons The bicep area is a bit snug. Main zipper is difficult to use. If your not familiar with Spidi the main zipper is on the left not right. It's so nice it is making me want to spend more money and get the pants too! Price is a bit high but you get what you pay for. Overall Great 4 season jacket. (still need to test in warmer conditions, but venting is numerous) It's layered so much it's like three jackets in one. Excellent touring jacket and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone. Thanks Revzilla and thanks Spidi! March 31, 2013

Pete B asked: Is the outer shell like the one for the Marathon jacket?
I gather from the video for the Marathon that the shell has H2Out built into it, just not seam-sealed, to give some short term waterproofness without having the separate liner in.

Marcos d: I have the venture, and based on the information given on the Maraton details, both of them are similar, with three layers: 1- outer shell, 2- waterproof breathable H2OUT, 3- insulated lining. I personally like this format, because on hot weather, on no rain days, I can take off the waterproof membrane, which makes motorcycle jackets very hot. Mar 28, 2014
