Speed and Strength Speed Shop Leather Jacket
Excellent value for style and protection
I love this jacket. Right off the top, my only nit-pick is that it's not top-grain leather, but for the price I'm not disappointed in all of the leather used.
- Price! Excellent value for the following reasons...
- Airflow! This jacket flows an incredible amount of air.
- Great Style. Subdued color scheme with dark reflective piping. I enjoy the design on the patches.
- Adequate protection at CE1. Although I would like to see a CE2 option for the back protector.
-- Slightly roomy fit for those with broad shoulders and chest. --- Gusseted and articulated shoulders allow for unrestricted range of motion. Also allows for a hoodie to be layered beneath.
-- Drop tail with accordion stretch section for proper fit while leaned forward.
- Thermal liner is vest only, not good at all on cold days as vents in the arms and shoulder will cause cold air to cut right through. S/S really cut some corners here... and the jacket would be much better with a full sleeve liner.
The bottom line:
I think this jacket is a good value for the price paid. It's not an Icon1000, or RSD, but when compared to those you'll have more than a few hundred $ left over if you choose this jacket.

Good quality, minimalist, stylish jacket!
Jacket is great overall. Looks incredible, fit is on the snug side but, very importantly, good mobility in the arms and shoulders. Plenty of air flow. On cooler days you will want to wear long sleeves under it for sure but in the heat of summer, you will be protected without tanking from heat stroke in a big leather jacket. Leather feels durable despite it's thin nature also. Recommended if you can still find 'em!

I love this jacket. The legit leather feels really good and adds some weight but I see it as a plus. Took about a month to break in the leather, but feels incredible now. I replaced the back protector with the "Klim D3O Viper T5 Pro Back Protector" and it fit with no modifications. I'm planning on replacing the shoulder/elbow pads as well, for peace of mind. The color is darker than the picture. The insulator that can be removed is like a vest so your arms don't get covered. So I removed it and I just wear a sweatshirt in the winter (I've been in 45 degree mornings and have been warm). I haven't tried wearing it in the summer yet, but I can see/feel good ventilation. This is a personal preference but I like that the back of the jacket extends a little to cover up the plumbers crack area :) I have no problem keeping this jacket on while hanging out with friends too.
Pro's: Very durable, comfortable, zippers all feel strong, strong durable perforation, 3/4 protected areas, etc
Con's: Wish there was a chest protector insert option. Maybe weight? (I think that's a positive though)
All in all I'm 98% please with my jacket. (the chest protector option is a small deal breaker to me) If for some odd ball reason my jacket got destroyed/lost/broken etc I would very likely buy this one again. I initially did about 6 hrs of research on jackets, and this jacket covered the most of my requirements.

This is by far the softest leather jacket I have ever owned, and there are 7 in the closet. I am 6', 175lbs, 42 chest, athletic build, and the large fits like a glove. The jacket flows air very well in 95+ degree colorado weather. I did treat it, which took some of the softness out, but have not conditioned the leather yet. No back protector, but that seems to be the common marketing scam lately with jackets. The stitching is very tight, very nice details. The reflective stripe across the back is very subtle but works well according to my buddies. Have ridden in 60 degreeish weather, slightly rainy conditions, and stayed warm enough. Not really a cold weather jacket without more layers underneath. Unable to test protection factor, unwilling to try.
