Shoei Qwest Prestige Helmet

The Shoei Qwest Motorcycle Helmet was built with a focus on minimizing helmet weight, optimizing fit for comfort and protection and lowering noise levels to bring a new level of comfort to touring helmets. Featuring a slightly round oval internal shape, the Qwest helmet is manufactured with 4 individual shell sizes to keep the helmet as low-profile as possible. The smaller the helmet shell, the lighter the helmet weight. The Shoei Qwest Helmet also uses the Shoei's CW-1 visor technology with the Q.R.S.A system. This system guarantees a tight seal at the faceshield  by pulling the shield back to contact the opening seal evenly. The Qwest also touts an extra-wide viewport for additional peripheral vision so you can more easily take in the world around you.

Aerodynamic Shell Design:

  • Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind tunnel and feedback from professional riders
  • Dual-Layer EPS liner enhances impact absorption and ventilation
  • Four shell and six EPS liner sizes increase fit options that help to comfortably fit most head sizes
  • Molded air spoiler reduces drag and lift as well as diminishes weight pressure on the neck while riding at high speeds

Ventilation System:

  • Upper Air Intake Vent is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior
  • Large upper intake vent positioned to maximize performance in high wind conditions
  • Easy to operate large lower intake vent
  • Lower air intake/defroster vent reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation
  • Rear/neck outlets allow for effective air exhaust
  • Breath guard and chin curtain are included

Lightweight Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus (AIM+):

  • High performance fiber materials are combined with extremely elastic organic fibers to create a shell structure that is ultra lightweight, rigid and resilient

Interior:

  • 3D center pad and multi-layered, polyurethane foam cheek pads
  • Cheek pads are replaceable or removable for maintenance
  • Eyeglass-compatible interior
  • Standard chin strap clip neatly secures chin strap

CW-1 Shield and Q.R.S.A. System:

  • Q.R.S.A. (Quick-Release Self-Adjusting) base plate allows for tool-less shield removal and installation
  • Spring-loaded base plate pulls the shield back to contact the window beading evenly and ensures a proper seal
  • Scratch-resistant coating
  • 99.9% protection from harmful UV A and B rays
  • Optional, CWF-1 two-dimensional Pinlock equipped racing shields with tear-off posts are available (sold separately)
  • Optional, CW-1 Pinlock prepared shields are available to accommodate Pinlock Fog Free Inserts (sold separately)
  • The CW-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces
  • A pre-set lever can easily lock the shield in place to prevent the shield from opening unexpectedly, as well as prop the shield open to increase airflow

Additional Features:

  • Construction: AIM+ (Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus Multi Fiber)
  • Weight: 3.644 lbs / 1,653 grams (approx, for Size Medium)
  • Standards: Snell-M2010, DOT

Shoei Qwest Prestige Helmet 4.6 5 464 464
Quiet helmet with a price The quality of the Qwest is on par with Shoei's high standard. This helmet is very quiet, but like I said, with a price. It's a little on the hot side. Low 80's is the warmest I've rode in so far and it was a little warm. Hoping it won't be too bad this summer. I'm coming from a Shoei RF-1000 which was a nice helmet but not as quiet. The qwest is the quietest helmet I've ever had. I had a medium in the RF-1000 and a medium in the Qwest. It does fit slightly tighter than the 1000 but mainly in the cheek area. I'm sure that will loosen with some miles. May 18, 2015
awesome helmet Shoei qwest prestige is a great helmet. It's light, quiet and has a good field of view. Easy shield changing is nice. The design is my favorite part. Eagles and the red, white and blue! May 4, 2015
excellent helmet Always used Shoei helmets becuz they seem to fit my head perfect. Tried on others and they just don't fit right. Get a new bike every 4-5 years so gotta get a new helmet to match. The design on this helmet is great, looks better in person. April 25, 2015
best for helmet for the price it's a no brainer, better than a 700 dollar helmet. April 20, 2015
Not perfect but very good After working with an individual who experienced a traumatic brain injury via a motorcycle wreck in a cheap helmet I decided to move up from my HJC past. I have read complaints about whistling sounds from the helmet. I have not experienced this but will say it is louder when the shield is open. I ride in a sitting up riding position and I noticed that the helmet is quieter when I am slightly hunched over. This would be a constant position if my bars were just slightly more forward. The helmet is quieter than my previous helmets but not as quiet as I was expecting that said I am not disappointed. The fit and finish on the helmet is superb and the light silver matches my bike perfectly. I paired it up with a Sena 20s and I am very pleased. May 26, 2015
Excellent Shoei makes a great helmet and they really fit my head nicely... Which is not true of all helmets. I am very pleased with this helmet, it is exactly what I was looking for, hi-vis, but not stupid looking. I would recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a high quality helmet at a great price. May 26, 2015
Quality product - great for touring This is my second qwest. First one worked in an accident and protected me well. This replaces the first! May 25, 2015
Good helmet for the money. This is my first full face helmet so not the best judge. I have only ever worn skid lids or none at all. I wanted a helmet for long distance tour in inclimate weather. I watched the videos and they were very helpful in choosing this helmet. I expected better air flow but I have nothing to compare it to. I do suggest that you purchase the pin lock face shield as the one that comes with it fogs fairly badly. May 25, 2015

A shopper asked: I have an Arai Signet Q in XL that's fits like a glove. It appears I have a long oval shaped head. Would this Shoei helmet fit good for me? Jan 10, 2015

Ventura G: Probable, but i can't tell you yes or no, my recommendation to you is to buy the helmet and tried, that's the only way my friend if it's not comfortable or it didn't fit you, you can always returned, but not only that thy have a size chart so you can size your self and it's pretty accurate. good luck Jan 11, 2015

CHRISTOPHER G: that is a tough question to answer , each helmet fits differently , my best answer would be to try them on to see which one fits the best. I have the Arai Signet Q in an xl and i have the Shoei in an extra large they fit me fine Feb 9, 2015

Derek M: I have more of a round head and this helmet fits great. Do what I did. I drove to the local Cycle Gear and tried it on there. Then I bought it from Revzilla. Good luck. Jan 10, 2015

JOHN L: Thanks Derek, great advice. Jan 10, 2015
A shopper asked: Am considering the Prestige or Overt, primarily because of pretty good prices on close-outs for a high quality helmet. My concern/question though is HOW OLD are the actual helmets on close-out? If my reading/research is right, five years is the safety cutoff, past which point it's possible (probable?) some of the materials can begin to delaminate or degrade in some way, compromising protection levels. Overt was new in 2011; Prestige in 2012. If the Overts are actually four years old or the Prestiges three years, not sure they're much of a value regardless of discounts. Thx in advance for any info ... Feb 5, 2015

Michael S: I bought the quest prestige helmet in December 2014. I can't speak as to the safety or degradation in the materials used, but as far as the finish is concerned, there is no delimitation and the helmet looks like it just came off the assembly line. Maybe the folks at Revzilla should take one of these older helmets and put it through a crash test for us to find out! That would be a good video. Feb 9, 2015

Dennis M: You have a good point. This is one reason why stores will blow certain products such as helmets out, because of this supposed shelf life. On my Qwest Prestige I found a sticker that indicated a manufacture date of 09/12. But I did not hesitate to buy this helmet. The materials are flawless, the finish is flawless and I have no doubt that it will protect me if it ever came down to that. I would take this SNELL 2010 Shoei over a made in 2015 LS2 or HJC any day!

Frankly I think this 5 year shelf life thing is more marketing than anything. I think if well cared for an excellent helmet like this Shoei Qwest can last for 7 years. Having said that, if I were to drop it from a height of 4 feet or higher I would be replacing it. But the same could be said for a helmet made in 2015!

Bottom line, I am so glad I bought this lid! I have a RF-1100, a Neotech and this Qwest Prestige and the Qwest is my favorite by far. Hope this helps.

Michael H: I am happy with the helmet both in its looks and comfort. However, this is a good question which I would like to also know the answer. I would assume the best manner to find the answer is to reach out to the manufacturer. Feb 9, 2015

Demetrios V: Mine was 2 years old and if you average it out it's about $100 a year. So if you buy a new one at $500 for 5 years it's the same. Buy what fits you perfectly first then what you like, then what you can afford. Feb 10, 2015

A shopper asked: Does the helmet fit like the Rf-1200? May 4, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kevin B: Similar fit but the shell of the Qwest is a hair larger or bigger around in the front jaw and chin area. It's just enough that my communicator mic sits in the helmet but out of my mouth. The RF1200 is just enough different that a mic doesn't fit in there correctly. Also, the vents on the RF1200 are for riding in a more "aggressive" position. I ride a geeser glider and sit upright. The vents work great!

One more thing: Stock Harley MoCo communicator speakers DO FIT into the lil hollowed out speaker hole (I read about another rider on here that had problems w/ it). Both me and my gf use the quest and our MoCo speakers fit perfect.

Comfortable. Quiet. & Light. GREAT HELMET!!!
