Shoei Qwest Prestige Helmet

The Shoei Qwest Motorcycle Helmet was built with a focus on minimizing helmet weight, optimizing fit for comfort and protection and lowering noise levels to bring a new level of comfort to touring helmets. Featuring a slightly round oval internal shape, the Qwest helmet is manufactured with 4 individual shell sizes to keep the helmet as low-profile as possible. The smaller the helmet shell, the lighter the helmet weight. The Shoei Qwest Helmet also uses the Shoei's CW-1 visor technology with the Q.R.S.A system. This system guarantees a tight seal at the faceshield  by pulling the shield back to contact the opening seal evenly. The Qwest also touts an extra-wide viewport for additional peripheral vision so you can more easily take in the world around you.

Aerodynamic Shell Design:

  • Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind tunnel and feedback from professional riders
  • Dual-Layer EPS liner enhances impact absorption and ventilation
  • Four shell and six EPS liner sizes increase fit options that help to comfortably fit most head sizes
  • Molded air spoiler reduces drag and lift as well as diminishes weight pressure on the neck while riding at high speeds

Ventilation System:

  • Upper Air Intake Vent is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior
  • Large upper intake vent positioned to maximize performance in high wind conditions
  • Easy to operate large lower intake vent
  • Lower air intake/defroster vent reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation
  • Rear/neck outlets allow for effective air exhaust
  • Breath guard and chin curtain are included

Lightweight Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus (AIM+):

  • High performance fiber materials are combined with extremely elastic organic fibers to create a shell structure that is ultra lightweight, rigid and resilient

Interior:

  • 3D center pad and multi-layered, polyurethane foam cheek pads
  • Cheek pads are replaceable or removable for maintenance
  • Eyeglass-compatible interior
  • Standard chin strap clip neatly secures chin strap

CW-1 Shield and Q.R.S.A. System:

  • Q.R.S.A. (Quick-Release Self-Adjusting) base plate allows for tool-less shield removal and installation
  • Spring-loaded base plate pulls the shield back to contact the window beading evenly and ensures a proper seal
  • Scratch-resistant coating
  • 99.9% protection from harmful UV A and B rays
  • Optional, CWF-1 two-dimensional Pinlock equipped racing shields with tear-off posts are available (sold separately)
  • Optional, CW-1 Pinlock prepared shields are available to accommodate Pinlock Fog Free Inserts (sold separately)
  • The CW-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces
  • A pre-set lever can easily lock the shield in place to prevent the shield from opening unexpectedly, as well as prop the shield open to increase airflow

Additional Features:

  • Construction: AIM+ (Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus Multi Fiber)
  • Weight: 3.644 lbs / 1,653 grams (approx, for Size Medium)
  • Standards: Snell-M2010, DOT

Worth Every Penny No wind noise around the face shield. No wind from under the helmet, nor does it bobble on my head. There are lil slots for my glasses that work perfectly. They go back on my face easy & they are. on my head not hooked by the helmet so if I adjust the helmet, my glasses don't move too. Our factory Harley speakers fit perfectly into the factory recessed area around the ear &don't even touch our ears. Sizing is true. My gf wears XS and the XS fits perfect. I'm always on the edge between L & XL. I bought XL & am very pleased, not too tight, &just enuff room for my balaclava. Bottom Line; if ur a dedicated rider ull luv this helmet. For reference; we ride 2up,sitting upright, on a Geezer Glider abt 15K/ yr. August 10, 2014
Fantastic helmet I'm very happy with this helmet. I switched from Icon Airframe to the Qwest Passage and couldn't be much more pleased. I have read conflicting reports on how loud or how quiet the Qwest is and for me riding upright on my cruiser, the helmet is very quiet, no wistle or wind noise other than what you would expect. Maybe I just have the right shaped head? The helmet is quite lite and extremely comfortable. I can feel the air being vented through the helmet when the vents are open, especially at the crown of my head. My only complaint is that the visor it comes with and other Shoei shields don't have any anti-fog treatment, if you want anti-fog you need to shell out some more cash and get the pinlock shield AND insert. The helmet should at least come with the pinlock ready shield. Overall, great value for money, great comfort, and great styling. August 28, 2014
Good product Was really quiet, and lighter then my other helmet. The airflow was good, and love the matte black look. August 25, 2014
Perfect, basic helmet 6'0", 170lbs, 59cm head, Large fits great. Very quiet and controlled at freeway speed on my V-Strom. Comfortable, light enough. My only gripe is there's no drop down visor, which I wouldn't mind EXCEPT neiter of the sunglasses I wear regurarly fit well inside the helmet. Sooo, I used my zillacash from the helmet purchase to buy a dark smoke visor. Now I'll have to carry an extra visor in case I'm out late but that beats uncomfortable smashed glasses. To be fair, the smaller pair fits okay and the foam may settle in. August 20, 2014
Unfortunately the only helmet that fit my head shape. Pros: - The helmet fit my head which most don't seem to. - The helmet is quiet. - The graphics are very nice and highly visible - Solid construction with a comfortable liner and Snell rating. Cons: - They forgot to put in any real ventilation. I had the visor fog up in 70 degree weather. A problem I did not even know you COULD have. - The 'crack and lock' function opens the visor so little that you probably will not see any difference in fogging. You certainly won't feel any cooler. - While their are pockets for speakers and a tiny amount of room for a microphone there is absolutely no way to run wires from one side of the helmet to the other. - The liner is not removable (cheek pads are but not the top liner) - No reflective elements. This is a hi-viz helmet but there are no retro-reflective elements. Your going to have to grab your own tape. - I miss my drop down visor. Personal preference but I really noticed moving to this helmet that there is no way to reduce sun glare when it suddenly comes up. Conclusion: if it were not for this being the only helmet I can find that fits my head I would have returned it. August 19, 2014
Great lid! I bought this helmet because it was advertised as quiet and suited for upright riding. Well on both counts the lid delivered, and surprisingly light too. If I tilt my head downward I can actually hear the increased wind noise, but upright it is serene. August 18, 2014
5 star helmet! Dulls wind noise well, I highly reccomend the dark smoke visor for day and night use, cuts sun and headlight glare, the fog setting is amazing. I also manually applied some red reflective pinstriping down the middle, looks sick. August 17, 2014
Great Helmet for Touring I ride a HD Electra Glide (6 inch windvest windshield) so keep in mind that my riding position is upright. Sizing: This is subjective, so I won't dwell on this too much. I am a 22.5 medium oval and the small fit perfectly. Features: First, the padding is excellent and even though it is not removable (cheek pads are) this is not a concern for me. It is lightweight and I experienced no neck strain on long distance rides. It is easy to get on and off with the wide neck opening and uses a simple D-ring that I prefer. Ventilation is very good and I did have airflow through the top vents. Buffeting is non existent when turning my head L to R, but some minor buffeting when in the forward position (I ride 90% of the time with the shield open). With the shield closed I did not have any buffeting. For me the helmet is quiet, again this is subjective. I did not experience the noise some have talked about. Visibility is excellent and the shield has great clarity with many strong detents to include a city opening. There is no leakage in rain and the shield, for me, did not fog up (I breath through my nose). It also locks firmly in the closed position. So, what would I request that Shoei change? First, while the helmet accepts glasses it would be nice to have specific channels. I would also prefer the tab on the face shield to be in the center; that's it. I didn't want pinlock, or internal shade (not perfected yet). I can deal with the anti fog solution and wearing my sunglasses. This is a great, no frills, comfortable, safe helmet, and if it fits, you can't go wrong. As an FYI, I compared (and tested) this helmet to the Kabuto Aeroblade 3. For a touring helmet Shoei wins hands down. As always, Revzilla Rocks! August 14, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Dewan C: quality, style, best protection May 24, 2014
Thomas K: I chose this Shoei Qwest because of its reviews for fit, comfort, visibility, and most of all protection. This helmet was also designed more for the cruiser type rider and ventilation is set up for that posture. As a Harley guy these graphics stand for allot of what I believe in and that was a bonus for me. Jan 31, 2014
William W: AWSOME graphics and comfort. Jan 29, 2014
James M W: I like the graphics. Patriotic! Jan 25, 2014
Joshua L: The graphics are amazing. The comfort is extremely comfortable due to the material used. Aug 29, 2013

Rocke K: I have a smh10 mounted to mine. Went on easy and the speakers fit well without pinching my ears. The boom mic fits inside the chin piece well also.
I have had no issues with the setup for over a year now.

A shopper asked: Does the helmet fit like the Rf-1200? May 4, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kevin B: Similar fit but the shell of the Qwest is a hair larger or bigger around in the front jaw and chin area. It's just enough that my communicator mic sits in the helmet but out of my mouth. The RF1200 is just enough different that a mic doesn't fit in there correctly. Also, the vents on the RF1200 are for riding in a more "aggressive" position. I ride a geeser glider and sit upright. The vents work great!

One more thing: Stock Harley MoCo communicator speakers DO FIT into the lil hollowed out speaker hole (I read about another rider on here that had problems w/ it). Both me and my gf use the quest and our MoCo speakers fit perfect.

Comfortable. Quiet. & Light. GREAT HELMET!!!
