The shield looks nice and reduces a lot of glare, but heaven help you if you or some rock nick it because the coating comes off rather easily and then you are left with an annoying non-mirrored area on your shield.
Yes, I recommend this product.

These face shields have great features, but at the price they're way too expensive. I have no idea why a face shield has to cost over 80 dollars. Revzilla has as good a price as any, but paying over 50 bucks for a face shield is a ripoff anywhere. Oh, the review -- snaps on and off easily, collects bugs with the best of them, does what it's supposed to do, optically great.
Yes, I recommend this product.

The shape and fit seem identical to the stock screen, so not much to say about that part. It fits the RF-1100 perfectly. The tint is dark enough to cut down on glare during the day, but not too dark at night (product says "daytime use only"). Similar to 35% window tinting.
Features rating is average, as it's not really applicable to a screen.
Overall I'm a happy customer.

This visor works as advertised. Just rode from Florida to Tennessee and back and did 3 days of riding all over the mountains and the visor works great, except for a small amount of noise, but the visor was cracked open to the vent position, so I expected that. When vented it works well keeping the visor clear. Excellent tint level for all the conditions encountered. Thanks Shoei, (and Revzilla)!

Spectra face shields are great, but this is a nice alternative to wearing sunglasses underneath. Not too strong for evenings, but of course not the best idea.

The Spectra mirror coating on the visor is horrible. It scratches very very easily and even a finger nail can remove the mirror coating. every time I clean on bug debris off the visor more and more of the mirror coating comes off and you can tell where the bugs hit the visor based on the removed coating. The standard dark smoke tint blocks the same amount of sun, is cheaper, and much more durable. I wish I went with he standard dark smoke visor from the beginning.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Nothing much to say apart from the visor fits the helmet perfectly, makes an amazing seal with the Qwest spring loaded closure and is optically perfect. If it lasts as long as my previous Shoei visors (different visor type for the new helmet) then I will be very happy.

The only helmets that the CW-1 will fit is the X-12 and the RF-1100 helmet. Those lids are not modular type helmets. They are geared to track riders and posers. As a matter of fact, I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would have a modular helmet. Think about it... You're riding around with the face guard down (the safest position). All of a sudden you think to yourself that... "Hey, maybe this is too safe... After all, look at those Harley guys with their (not DOT approved) helmets... And what about the guys in Utah, they don't even have a helmet law!" So you throw caution to the wind and you raise your face guard on the modular lid. Now if you have to come off the bike your chin can enjoy the asphalt.
By the way, I'm sure that Shoei sells a tinted version for your helmet, just call the guys at Revzilla... They are good with advise and you never get the feeling that they are rushing you off of the phone.

i have dark tint (smoke) on my cx-1 shield... and often wear dark oakley (ducati of course) glasses underneath... the dark tints good, it takes the edge off, but it not so dark you need to worry about it on a cloudy day... night time out of the city sucks but cloudy days are fine.

I've been a big fan of chrome for a long time. Gets a bit toasty in Sydney during summer and I used to have dark smoke on the old BMW hats I had but went to chrome on the Shoei hats. I could not put it down to the visor but it felt better inside, both makes were white (yep, I'm boring) but the Shoei felt better...might be down to the venting but the front of my face felt better in direct sun. I have a chrome visor on my new Qwest and it stays on day or night. However, this is mostly city or suburban riding so street lighting is always on. No doubt if I was out somewhere rural I would be swapping it for a clear visor at night, the light reduction is not severe but I woud prefer the full picture out in the sticks.

The dark smoke is really dark and designed for bright, sunny, daytime riding. If you want a shield that will work best on cloudy days and at dusk, I would not go with a dark smoke. Anytime we choose to use a colored or darkened/tinted shield, it's important that we have a pair of good polycarbonate eyeglasses on if we find ourselves in a situation where we need to ride with the shield partially or wholly in the up position due to low light.

I typically find the dark smoke option to be the darkest for any shield. The Chrome Mirror or Silver color options tend to sit in-between light smoke and dark smoke as far as visibility goes. For cloudy or low light conditions, I would consider an amber or yellow shield as it improves contrast for best visibility in shadows.
