Well worth it
It is well worth this mic if you have a full face helmet. It makes the calls so clear and crisp it's amazing.

perfect option for full face
When trying to decide on a bluetooh device I used price 35%, functionality / durability 50% and reviews 15%. with price as a pretty big factor I can only say WOW!! The SMH-5 is a great unit. for thoes with a full face there is only one way to go, wired mic. it is small and out of the way with great sound clarity on the other end. I do not have to bring yell regardless of the speed and it goes seamlessly in line with the rest of the unit. I do fell that over time grabing my helmet by the face will wearout the foam which is why I make a concious effort to move my fingers. When it commes to communication this will be the best $5-6 spent.

Wired mic
Connects to the headphone assembly and allows for use of a full faced helmet. A small piece of velcro holds the mic to the helmet. The sound is very good and I can make phone calls at 60 with no problem or complaints from the other party. On some helmets some fitting may be required to avoid wind noise especially when turning your head.

Works well
I bought the Sena SMH5 and used this in place of the mic that comes with the system. The mic worked well for the few hours that I was able to use it. Unfortunately the headset died and I havent really gotten to use the mic since then. Luckily revzilla has great customer service and I will have a new one coming my way soon.

Alternative option for full face helmets.
The Sena SMH5 wired mic is the perfect option for those with full face helmets who don't want to use the boom mic or are cramped for space. I ordered two of these with the SMH5 dual pack as we both have full face helmets. Easy install and very cost effective!

Quick to install
Needed a replacement mic for my Sena SMH5-FM. This was a snap (literally) to install and has worked wonderfully with no complaints from those I speak with.

A good idea for full face helmets
Very compact; mounts easily and takes up little space in a full face helmet. I have little clearance between my mouth and the chin piece on my Arai RX-Q, and this mic fits easily without interfering. I would have preferred it if the SMH5 kit was available with these wired mics instead of the boom mics, but in any case, the price to add the wired mics separately is reasonable.

glad I found this
I ride 5-6 days a week and had worn out my old mic from my Senna ( which I love). I was relieved that there was such an easy, inexpensive fix to that problem. it installed in seconds and works great. Thanks Revzilla

Fills the gap with the Sena two pack for those with half and full face helmets.
Inexpensive option for those who have half and full faced helmets and want to take advantage of the Sena two pack of communicators. Now I have the option of using any helmet for myself , or having a communicator for my wife for our occasional rides.

My existing microphone foam is now missing . Foam is not sold separately so replacement mic has to be ordered. I like this mic over boom mic. At high speeds boom mic has o touch mouth for rider to hear you this doesn't.. The sensitivity is great!
Devonson S on Sep 5, 2013
Just received the SMH5 duel kit, and the included boom mics look a bit bulky for a full face helmet (my mouth almost touches the inside of the chin bar). Hopefully these wired mics will take up less space.

Will this mic fit the smh10R? It looks like the same connector.
A shopper on Aug 10, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I would say so. As electronics these days are made to a standard for ease of the manufacturer, I doubt there would be a model to model change for something so trite. I would head to the revzilla store if you are local, just to make sure and check it out, but I doubt there will be a problem.
will this replacement wire mic fit on smh 10? i have tried to look for a replacement for smh 10 but can only find one for smh 5.
A shopper on Jan 24, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No, the Sena SMH5 Replacement Wired Microphone will not be compatible with the SMH-10. You will need the Sena SMH-10 Helmet Clamp Kit - Attachable Boom and Wired Microphone, in order to use a wired microphone with your SMH-10.
