Sena SMH-10 Helmet Clamp Kit - Boom Microphone 4.7 5 55 55
Functions great, buying replacement after only 1 year I love my Sena SMH10. It is a wonderful Bluetooth communicator. I purchased a couple of these Helmet Clamp Kit - Boom Microphone for my extra helmets. The one I purchased for my helmet, that I use most everyday, is starting to fall apart. Last week, I had to superglue the mic back on to the end of the boom because it separated. After that, I noticed that the earpiece for my left ear started cutting out. I'm not hard on my stuff and I hardly ever adjusted the microphone and never so roughly that it should have separated. The one for my wife's helmet sees much less use and appears to still be functioning without problem. I hope that this new one I'm ordering today lasts longer than only a year. September 15, 2015
Great addition to the motorcycle kit! I have 2 SMH-10 Bluetooth headsets and due to having extra helmets for different uses, I purchased more Boom Mics. The helmet clamp kits sold separately from the complete system are a great advantage. I do not need more than 2 full Bluetooth Kits, but being able to move them between helmets without swapping the clamp kits is a great help. The boom mics pick up voice input very well and I can hear very clearly while on calls. Even at freeway speeds sound quality is excellent. August 10, 2015
Fitted to open face helmet Well, I have 5 helmets I switch from time to time and I always like to the SENA SMH10... just bought my first open face helmet, a bit too hot here in Southern Cal... I this Helmet Clamp Kit fits perfect July 8, 2015
Best motorcycle intercom I researched these thoroughly before purchasing. The Sena SMH-10 is a class 1 radio, the longest range of bluetooth possible. There are units that cost much more than the Sena that are only class 2 or 3, which means suitable for communication with a passenger or another bike in close proximity. These work well up to the stated range. Also the ability to pair with your cell phone and/or other bluetooth devices works flawlessly. Lately I've been using the Sena paired to my phone to listen to music or the gps, while staying connected to another rider. It's easy to toggle between the phone and other rider. I've used these to pair with up to 3 headsets total and don't know what the limit is. July 6, 2015
Sean SMH-10 Boom The Sena SMH-10 is a great product. It has far surpassed my expectations. Using the device can be a little tricky but just read thru the manual a few times and there really is no problem. I found an after market harness that will hook it up to my 2008 Street Glide's audio system which will enable me to incorporate the use of my CB for trips where some are running hard wired CB's as a way of having bike to bike communication. I highly recommend Sena products to all those in the motorcycle riding community. Ride safe and keep the rubber side down. June 15, 2015
I like it. The product works very well. It was easy to install in my helmet. It came on time as promised. Thank you Revzilla! May 26, 2015

Great sound and easy installation Big loud speakers make music and voices easily heard over wind noise on unfaired Bikes. Cheap enough to put one on every helmet u own and just move control unit to whichever helmet u want to wear. April 13, 2015

Paul T: These have worked great for my daughter and I, have logged a ton of miles with these.

I love being able to point things out to her while traveling and it makes me feel safer when she is talking to me on long trips, so I know she's not dozing off.

Have driven through heavy rains on the way to Banff and they have worked well in all kinds of weather and easy to use with gloves.

You won't regret buying these.

Charles C: Yes, absolutely. It has completely changed how my wife and I tour. We have regular conversations, just as if we were riding in a car. She normally rides with her iPod playing music, but it is over-ridden anytime we start a conversation. I would not travel without it. It is the most important accessory I have. Aug 28, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Darryl W: This is just the clamp on kit to attach to the helmet. You would still need the main device as its the brain. I would use this kit on secondary helmet for myself and just attach the main unit to this kit Jul 7, 2015
Reply to Darryl Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Haewon G: You'll need SMH-10's. They come with the helmet clamp. This itemplate is only needed if you want to be able to attach the Bluetooth unit to more than one helmet.

Steven K: You also need the controller. This is just the speakers and Mic for a spare helmet. If you want to talk to your passenger you need the dual set like $200 plus Jul 1, 2015

Capt M: This is only the CLAMP kit to attach the SENA to your helmet, like if you own more than one helmet you need this or you are forever moving the mounting system back and forth.

You need this: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/sena-smh-10-bluetooth-stereo-headset

James C: No, you'll need to purchase another Sena SMH-10 in order to talk to your passenger and listen to music wirelessly. This clamp kit is just a holster / cradle for the Sena SMH-10 unit. Jul 2, 2015

Michael R asked: How far away can you get from another bike while using it? Do you have to make a call to talk to another bike? Feb 24, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Linda S: You have to have the other bike in your view pretty much to talk to one another.
No there are no calls you just talkY you have to sync up before you leavef to talk to additional bikes.
Feb 24, 2015
Reply to Linda Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Chris H: Just to clarify my answer below is for the whole headset unit, not just the clamp kit. What is pictured is just the mic and speakers, which I bought so I wouldn't have to move this piece between helmets. It's pretty difficult to get it in just the right place and once you do you don't want to have to move it ever again.

Typically as long as you can see the other bike you'll get good reception. The only times I've experienced problems with it not working is if you are in the mountains, then the range seriously decreases. Same if you're connected to several people. If you start getting kind of strung out through the twisties you'll hear the other people ping and pop in and out of range as you go through the turns.

You don't have to make a call to speak with another bike, it uses the bluetooth connection so works similar to a walkie talkie.

Hope that helps!

Scott J: Hey Mike, They are linked together via a bluetooth connection. Basically it senses when you speak and automatically connects to the other headset so no buttons to push or calls to make. It's really great and I've had mine over 4 years. Feb 24, 2015

Walt F: Line of sight, about 1/4 mile, more or less. Provided you have phone service your range is unlimited. Great product and just getting better. Started with the SMH10 and now using the 20S. Feb 24, 2015

A shopper asked: i want to know its play music? Oct 13, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Chris V: Yes the Sena SMH-10 will play music when it is synched to your phone or MP3 player. I use it frequently with an iphone. You can also make and accept phone calls and send text messages with it via siri. I have the speaker/microphone clamp kit and two helmets and simply interchange the main module as needed. Oct 13, 2014
Reply to Chris Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
A S: When you have the full system (transmitter & mic kit) you can make calls, connect either 4 or 5 riders & use voice enabled systems on phones. Also playing music either via Bluetooth or there is a hard line with the transmitter for your cassette player, disk or Bluetooth free devices. The kicker is this is the only system I've tried where my friends couldn't tell where I was or what I was doing on the phone. The call clarity is that good. Plus the usage life is worthy. I went on a road trip for about 8 hours and just reached the end of the battery. Except for the rider count & lack of a phone adjustment app. I love this system. Mar 19, 2015
