Sizing is an issue, but everything else was great! I love these pants. I feel a bit like a hockey player when I wear them, but the protection gives me great peace of mind. I called to talk to Revzilla for a while about sizing before I ordered these, and ended up getting a 2xl pant. I wear a size 10/12 pants usually, so I'm glad I did. They're a bit long for walking around in, but the length is just right in riding position. With the liners in they're water resistant, and without they're very comfortable, even in hot weather. I have the white/yellow and they're easy to wash, or rinse out bug/dirt stains. Would buy again. July 19, 2015
Thumbs up I was really unsure of what size to order .. .I'm 5'4" and 113lbs. I had an xs in my cart but changed it to a small last minute. I am planning on wearing these as overpants and can easily wear them with my skinny jeans. A belt will be needed and I wish the knee protectors were adjustable, but neither is a deal breaker. The length is perfect. July 14, 2015
Feel safe I purchased these over pants for protection. I feel very safe in them. However they do seem to run smaller than what the size chart said. I'm 5'4 136lbs.. They are a bit snug in the hip and butt area. I can wear them with leggings, but nothing thicker than that. So I would go up a size. I also bought the orchid jacket. I must say I feel safe but still girly. June 8, 2015
overall love them!! I really like these pants, breathable but not baggy. Only flaw is no adjustability in the waist, had to get a belt. May 26, 2015
Was too small, reordering in large First off, I'm 5'4" and around 150-155lbs. I have very thick hips/thighs compared to my waist and calves. For reference, I usually wear a size 8 (sometimes a 10 in slim cut/narrow hip things) in women's jeans, and 9 or 11 in juniors, depending on the brand. I tend to wear M shirts, so I'm kind of pear shaped. I believe my measurements are 44-45 hips/butt and 32 natural waist? I read a TON of reviews for these pants and was not sure if I should get a medium or large. I ended up ordering the medium, and to my disappointment, I could not get them up around my hips to be buttoned. I'm returning them for a large, because from what I could tell they are very flattering, and they do seem to be cute very nicely for those with curvy hips/butt. Mine just are *extra* curvy! If you have a slimmer/less hippy build, definitely consider ordering a size down. They *may* run a bit long, but I have to wait to confirm that, as I could not get the pants up entirely. May 15, 2015
Sizing did not work for me Bought these pants based on all the reviews I read. My measurements are 27.5 waist, 37.5 hip, and 29 inseam. I got the XS. They fit well with no pants underneath, slightly snug with yoga pants, and really snug with jeans. I decided to return it because the pant length did not work for me. It was a little too long and the knee pad was not sitting at the proper position. I was disappointed that this did not workout but overall really like the style and quality of the pants. April 16, 2015
Like the fit and style. Love the pants, did have to return and order 2 sizes smaller than my original choice. I do like them to fit like pants not overpants. I ordered a medium and returned for an X-small. I am 5'3" 123lbs. I wear them with leggings, but I have worn them with jeans\dress pants as well. March 11, 2015
Great, versatile pants I wore these non-stop on a two week trip through Tasmania and Victoria, Australia. On colder days, I wore them with the liners in (love the removable liner) and leggings underneath. On warm days, I took out the liner and left off the leggings and the air circulation was pretty good. They aren't very water proof, but that's fine. Velcro adjustments around the ankles are really convenient. I find the corset styling on the side a bit dorky, but they are flattering in black and the belt loops are a huge perk. The loops alone are a good reason to opt for this pant over others. I'm 5'4" and 60kg, medium fit fine and left plenty of space for jeans underneath. Luckily I havent had a chance to check the protection :) but the armor rests in all the right places. December 22, 2014

A shopper asked: I'm wondering where the waist band actually hits so I can measure correctly. At the belly button or lower? Aug 29, 2013

Ginger W: The top of the waistband comes just below the belly button slightly. Not way down on hips like most jeans do now. I will be entering a review for these pants later, but for now I can tell you that they are very comfortable. Great coverage front and back without having the waistline being high up like on other pants I have tried. Hope this helps. Aug 30, 2013

A shopper asked: I'm so confused about what size to get. I purchased the savannah I pants recently in a Medium and could barely pull them up, let alone zip them. All the reviews said they ran small, but unfortunately I didn't read them before purchasing the pants. Now I'm reading the reviews for the Savannah II pants and some people are saying they run small and some are saying they run large. Which is it? I don't want to have to pay the shipping fee again if I get the wrong size. I'm 5'7" and about 145 pounds. I normally wear a size 6 but I have muscular thighs and butt so slim pants tend to be too tight on my thighs and butt area. Any suggestions? Apr 17, 2014

Lynda R: I am 5'7" 125lbs and a US size 4, with slender hips and thighs (no curves to speak of). The size small savannah II is nicely roomy on me; I can comfortably wear a pair of skinny jeans underneath. I use the side adjusters to make a more tailored fit on the thighs.

I think a medium would be fine for you. Hope that helps. Great pair of riding trousers by the way; safety conscious and pretty slick looking :-) enjoy!

Shawn G: I am 5' 2" and weigh 138. I bought size medium and they fit me just right . The waist is a little loose for me i wish they had a Velcro to tighten on the waist little snugger but I am overall well pleased with them. I normally wear size 6 or 7. My hips measure 39.5" and waist 29.5. I just got back from a 1,600 mile road trip and wore these pants everyday. I washed them while on the trip and they looked awesome. I got many complents on them. CARYN M: I am 5'5" and weigh 135. I bought a medium and they are a little on the big side. looking to sell mine and order a small. whats great about RevZilla is, the return is free. so if you happen to order the wrong size its super easy to return them. I have had to return things before and it has NEVER been a problem with these guys! Jul 8, 2014

shannon G: I am 5'4 145 and the fit me well. A little long but enough room around the waist and butt to get them over my jeans if I want (though its tight). So if you plan to mostly wear just them a med should be fine. Maybe a large if you would be wearing them over other clothes Apr 25, 2014

Robin W: The Savannah II pants are larger than the I's. I think you'll be fine with the mediums. These tend to be pretty spot on with straight cut jeans as far as sizing goes. Apr 25, 2014

Justin F asked: For a female rider that is 5'9" and 140 pounds, what size would you recommend? med or large? Nov 21, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Lynda R: First off - these are awesome trousers and I love them. The zip out thermal lawyer is fantastic, and the look is great.

I am 5'7" and 125 pounds and the small is quite roomy on me, but to go any smaller would have made the pants too short. I can comfortably wear jeans underneath the trousers.

Bear in mind that I have very slim hips/butt. If you are curvier, I would say a large but if you are boyish like me, a medium would be fine.

It also depends if you want to wear anything underneath. If you want to wear jeans I would go larger, but if you only wear leggings or similar stick with the medium.

Hope that helps!

Scott H: I would think medium would be best. My wife is 5"10 and about 165 she has a large and it fits her well. She tried on a medium and the legs were a bit cramped and a bit to short.

For what its worth she loves the pants!

Stephanie B: If she can do a 32" inseam, I would say an M. A Lg would prob be pretty bulky. Nov 21, 2013

Melissa P: Large. Nov 21, 2013

shannon G: I am 5'4 and 140 pounds and I have a medium. They fit great on their own, also they have just enough room to wear over jeans if I need to, but are snug. They may be just a couple inches long for me so they would probably work for someone 5'9"...but might be a little short. Since she is taller her 140 lbs probably means a smaller waste than me, so the large would likely be to big. Nov 21, 2013

Mai-Liis A: I'd recommend size small or medium. I am 5'3'' and 141 pounds and ordered size medium, but they are a bit large to me. So I am going to order size small. Nov 25, 2013

Robin W: Hi Justin, for your weight I would probably recommend a size small. I am currently down to 140 lbs and my size mediums are too big now. Nov 21, 2013

A shopper asked: I definitely want to get these! They sound like what I'm looking for I just don't know what size to order...I wear size 4 jeans, but I definitely have hips and butt, not a stick figure! I want these pants to wear over my jeans or work pants when I ride. What size would you recommend I get? Jan 14, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Eve K: Depending on how tall you are, you might want to go with large. I'm 5'10" about 140 lbs. I got a large and they fit great over my pants even if I'm wearing a belt. It's snug in the waist but the hip and thigh fits me well. But I also have a bit of a butt (my thighs are pretty skinny) I like the fit of the large and don't need to buy another pair of riding pants because these fit and wear well.

Also buy yourself a Frog Tog patch kit and put it on the pants where your pipes are. My pants brushed against my pipes on the first day I wore them and burned a hole right away.

Jane A: I am a curvy size 4 as well. I bought these pants in medium several months ago, but have lost 15 pounds since then. If I were to order them now (at my current size 4), I'd probably get a small, but I do not want to use them as over-pants. So, I did an experiment for you and put my mediums on over heavy sweatpants. Perfect! For your purposes, I think medium would be great. You will love these pants. Whenever I wear them, I feel like the hottest girl on the road (and I don't mean temperature)! Jan 14, 2015

Stephanie B: I wear a size 4/6 and I have the Small. I initially got the M and they were way too big. I have worn fitting jeans under them fine, however I normally just wear them with running shorts under them, because they are my warm weather vented pant. Jan 15, 2015
Reply to Stephanie Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Todd B: I absolutely love mine! I am in the same boat as you, so ordered one size bigger and fit waist, butt and all perfectly. Strings help fit the legs. (: Jan 14, 2015

A shopper asked: I commute 65 miles daily in dry heat and my current vented overpants stick to my thighs, which makes me roast. Do the Savannah II pants do the same? I usually wear wicking or cotton-blend workout shorts underneath. This is the decision-maker for me! And, I'm 5'4, 132. Is Medium the right size? Aug 23, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jane A: Hello! I am 5'3'' 130 pounds. I have the pants in medium. They are roomy, but really comfortable. I hate the "Mom jeans" fit that's really high on the waist. These are not hip-huggers, but lower on the waist, giving you room to breathe over the long haul. I wore these pants on a VERY hot ride (100+ degrees in Arizona) and while there's not much that's going to keep you cool while still keeping you covered in temperatures like that, I did find relief from the venting and didn't feel sticky at all, just hot. As you know, sometimes the heat just can't be avoided. Anyway, I like these pants a lot, much much better than my overpants. They are comfortable and look super cool with my Scorpion jacket! Due to the lower waist, they might gap a bit in the back for you, depending on your body type. If so, just add a cool belt. I think you'll really like these pants. Happy shopping! Aug 23, 2014
Reply to Jane Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Eve K: If you take out the wind/water proof liner I don't think they will stick. I would commute about 35-40 miles to work and they were pretty comfortable. I usually wear jean under them, though, not shorts. With the liner in, they would probably stick. But if you're in heat, you won't want the liner in anyway.
I think medium might work for you. I am 5'10" and 140lbs. I bought large and they fit well. They do tend to run small.
One thing to be careful of, I burned a hole in mine on my pipes when I unknowingly brushed against my pipes! It was just for a second but was long enough to put a hole in them!
I do love the pants, though! I think they are good quality.

Susanna P: I found these pants to be well vented as long as you are moving and of course, removed the inner liner. I'm 5'3" 125 athletic build so the Medium fit well with enough room to wear leggings underneathe, the Small were too tight. Aug 23, 2014

Eve K: I love my Savannah IIs. I haven't handled the Alter Egos to compare but I can say the Savannahs have great air flow once you remove the liner. With the liner in, they have kept me nice and warm on chilly days (less than 50F). They are comfortable and fit me well. May 12, 2015

Robin W: The pants come with removable hip armor. You can either use the pads that come with them or upgrade them. I've been using the pads that came with mine for a few years and have been quite satisfied. Apr 5, 2015

Robin W: They do come with a rain/wind liner. They do okay in light rain, but they will become a bit soggy and heavy. For heavy rain I definitely suggest dedicated waterproof pants as those don't hold water. Aug 7, 2014
