Awesome Pants...needs heat protection by calf
I ranked the 'bang for the buck' and 'protection and durability' only as 'good' because the pants don't have any heat resistant material on the lower calf. I didn't realize it until later but I had brushed up against my pipes and burned a hole in the pants the first day I wore them! I bought the Frog Togg heat repair kit and will be putting that on the pants tonight ...but on the flip side, I also didn't feel any heat through the pants. These pants are well insulated-- I didn't feel any cold wind as they kept me warm on a chilly morning ride to work. I love the fit and the style. Based on everyone else's input, I ordered one size larger and that worked for me (normally wear a medium but ordered large). I am able to wear them as an overpant. I love the look and it matches my Scorpion Nip Tuck jacket very nicely! I would definitely recommend these--just watch out near your pipes when parking you bike!

Like the fit and style.
Love the pants, did have to return and order 2 sizes smaller than my original choice. I do like them to fit like pants not overpants. I ordered a medium and returned for an X-small. I am 5'3" 123lbs.

I wear them with leggings, but I have worn them with jeans\dress pants as well.

Best Woman's textile riding pants
I bought these pants for 3-season riding and am very happy with them. The quality, safety features, and style are in line with the price. I have another pair with more mesh which gives me better airflow in the heat but I don't feel as protected. The Savannah II are a great compromise. Only complaint is they don't zipper into my jacket. I ordered a large. I'm 5'6", 150lbs and have a bubble butt and muscular legs. The waist gaps in the back. The length is perfect. I also really like the deep front pockets. I thought they'd be shallow (worthless) from the pics but I can easily fit my smartphone in one pocket and lip gloss in the other.

Bettet Fit
I purchased the savannah I pants a year or so ago. They were not a good fit at all. I ordered the extra large and I wore a size 9 at the time. I could not get the pants up around my upper thighs and behind. I wear a size 10 pants now and purchased a size large Savannah II. The savannah II's are a better fit. They are a little wide in the waist but gives the comfortable fit I was looking for elsewhere. I wear a belt with the Savannah II's and if I must say so myself...I look good in them. I have gotten a lot of compliments on them. The Savannah II pants are cut a little more for a woman's figure than the average Tom Boy's figure. They have the style I was looking for, right fit, and allows me to enjoy my ride comfortably. I just love Scorpion gear. It's fashionable, has great colors, and enables me to feel like a women while participating in a dominantly male sport. :-D

Love the Yellow/Black
I bought these in a size medium and wear them religiously. I love they are machine washable given the white gets dirty a lot easier. The fit a little big as I am 5'5" and weigh 135lbs. I am also curveless and buttless so this may lead to the fit as well. Love the belt feature as many of the protective pants do not offer this. Not to mention love the adjustable straps on the legs so that you can wear your layers under for cold weather riding. Got the jacket at the same time!! yellow bike, yellow gear! you can see me a mile away. ALWAYS getting compliments on this gear when I gas up.

Runs Small!
Of course, like most womens mtc gear, it runs small. These pants are also cut LOW, so I need to wear a belt to hold these up over my crack. I wear a 12/14 pants and fit into the XXL and they are just a little snug, but comfortable. Once on the bike, I immediately forgot about the bulk and just felt like nice, windproof pants. I wouldn't wear them around if not on the bike, as I feel like I'm wearing a skidoo suit. But for longer, colder rides these are good.

Comfortable and stylish
These pants are really comfortable. I'm 5'9", size 29 waist and they fit good in length, but are a little loose around the quand and waist areas. I didn't bother returning them for a samller size cuz I don't mind the looser fit so I can wear pants underneath or just for a non restricting fit feeling while riding. I haven't rode through rain yet with them so I don't know how waterproof they are, but so far so good!

Great pants but quirky fit
If you are like me, it is hard to buy anything online these days because sizing is no longer universal and size charts don't always help. That being said, I will try to provide my assessment in hopes to help with that! I am 5'8" tall with an athletic build, (muscular thighs and butt, straight waist and hips) and wear a size 7 in pants with a 36 inch inseam. Overall, these pants are wonderful and I highly recommend them. They fit more like a jean in that they have a lower rise, but not so low as to be uncomfortable when you ride. I ordered the size Large. The waist was a bit large and I was disappointed that there were not waist tabs to adjust the fit. I got around this problem by wearing a belt. The butt area was nice and I didn't feel at all crowded. (I did wear a light running tight under these pants). The thigh area was a bit big but the pants come with nifty thigh laces and I was able to snug them up and they fit fine. The length was a bit short on me, but I have a 36 inch inseam, so it was noticeable while riding, but I would say most women will be just fine with the length. I likely could have exchanged these for a medium, but I liked the bit of room in the large to allow for layering. We rode in 60 degree temperatures and I stayed very comfortable all day long! If you are a pear shape, this pant might be a bit tricky to fit, as it is cut fairly straight, but if you are willing to work with the pants, you will definitely be happy you bought them. They are well worth the money and the protective padding was right where it needed to be and did not feel bulky or look strange. Overall this pant is great and it looks very nice on and definitely does its job!

Protection with style
I couldn't find anything like these in Australia: thrilled to get them from Revzilla

As a novice rider protection is very important to me, but my vanity doesn't permit the 'Michelin Man' look either. Thankfully, these trousers have it all - sleek and sexy looks, proper armour, zip out thermal lining, the lot. These will do very nicely year round in Sydney's temperate climate.

I am super happy with my purchase; I have slender legs and butt so these are a little big on me, but I can comfortably fit a pair of jeans underneath. I am 5'7" and 120lbs (170cm and 55kg) and the small is roomy but not ridiculous. The xs would have been too short in the leg. Feels very comfortable riding with jeggings or similar underneath.

Top product, would recommend to anyone!

Love these pants!
I'm 5'9" 125 lbs slender build. I ordered the black pants in a size medium. Shipping was fast, and they were packaged safely. The pants themselves are a little loose on me, but I'm on the thin side. The length of the pants are just to the top of my feet, and I like that they unzip at the bottom so they fit over my boots. The cords on the side that can tighten the pants are really long, I might need to trim them once they're tightened to my legs, but it's nice to be able to adjust them to your shape. The waist is roomy, and comes with loops wide enough for a belt. The hips padding is very hard and protective. The material of the pants feels like a thick canvas, and the liner that can unzip on the inside is soft. I will have room in these to wear thermals or leggings also to keep warm. Overall, they feel thick, warm, but still comfortable enough to give you flexibility of movement, even for someone as tall as I am. GREAT pants made for women!

It was either these or the Alpinestars Stella AST-1 WP Pants--these won out because they have the removable liner. Many of the reviews say that with the liner in it has pretty good cold weather protection. As I'd like to do Spring/Summer/early Fall riding these pants seem to have those months covered.

I chose these pants because I liked their versatility for different riding conditions and looks. They are very protective and yet still feminine. The sizing reviews along with the mfg sizing chart made it easy to determine what size I should order.
Denise V on Sep 16, 2013
Had tried some other riding pants and they came up too high. I don't like pants that fit 'to the arm pit' nor low down on the hips. This one comes up right between the two extremes so took it 'down the middle'

Do these pants come with a rain liner? Has anyone tested them in the rain?
Garrett B on Aug 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They do come with a rain/wind liner. They do okay in light rain, but they will become a bit soggy and heavy. For heavy rain I definitely suggest dedicated waterproof pants as those don't hold water.
I'm wondering where the waist band actually hits so I can measure correctly. At the belly button or lower?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The top of the waistband comes just below the belly button slightly. Not way down on hips like most jeans do now. I will be entering a review for these pants later, but for now I can tell you that they are very comfortable. Great coverage front and back without having the waistline being high up like on other pants I have tried. Hope this helps.
I'm so confused about what size to get. I purchased the savannah I pants recently in a Medium and could barely pull them up, let alone zip them. All the reviews said they ran small, but unfortunately I didn't read them before purchasing the pants. Now I'm reading the reviews for the Savannah II pants and some people are saying they run small and some are saying they run large. Which is it? I don't want to have to pay the shipping fee again if I get the wrong size. I'm 5'7" and about 145 pounds. I normally wear a size 6 but I have muscular thighs and butt so slim pants tend to be too tight on my thighs and butt area. Any suggestions?
A shopper on Apr 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I am 5'7" 125lbs and a US size 4, with slender hips and thighs (no curves to speak of). The size small savannah II is nicely roomy on me; I can comfortably wear a pair of skinny jeans underneath. I use the side adjusters to make a more tailored fit on the thighs.

I think a medium would be fine for you. Hope that helps. Great pair of riding trousers by the way; safety conscious and pretty slick looking :-) enjoy!
For a female rider that is 5'9" and 140 pounds, what size would you recommend? med or large?
Justin F on Nov 21, 2013
BEST ANSWER: First off - these are awesome trousers and I love them. The zip out thermal lawyer is fantastic, and the look is great.

I am 5'7" and 125 pounds and the small is quite roomy on me, but to go any smaller would have made the pants too short. I can comfortably wear jeans underneath the trousers.

Bear in mind that I have very slim hips/butt. If you are curvier, I would say a large but if you are boyish like me, a medium would be fine.

It also depends if you want to wear anything underneath. If you want to wear jeans I would go larger, but if you only wear leggings or similar stick with the medium.

Hope that helps!
I definitely want to get these! They sound like what I'm looking for I just don't know what size to order...I wear size 4 jeans, but I definitely have hips and butt, not a stick figure! I want these pants to wear over my jeans or work pants when I ride. What size would you recommend I get?
A shopper on Jan 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Depending on how tall you are, you might want to go with large. I'm 5'10" about 140 lbs. I got a large and they fit great over my pants even if I'm wearing a belt. It's snug in the waist but the hip and thigh fits me well. But I also have a bit of a butt (my thighs are pretty skinny) I like the fit of the large and don't need to buy another pair of riding pants because these fit and wear well.

Also buy yourself a Frog Tog patch kit and put it on the pants where your pipes are. My pants brushed against my pipes on the first day I wore them and burned a hole right away.
Are these full length leg zippers or just around the cuffs?
A shopper on Feb 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm 5'6" at 135. The zippers stop right below the half point of my calf. But I can easily take the pants off with my shoes still on.
I commute 65 miles daily in dry heat and my current vented overpants stick to my thighs, which makes me roast. Do the Savannah II pants do the same? I usually wear wicking or cotton-blend workout shorts underneath. This is the decision-maker for me! And, I'm 5'4, 132. Is Medium the right size?
A shopper on Aug 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello! I am 5'3'' 130 pounds. I have the pants in medium. They are roomy, but really comfortable. I hate the "Mom jeans" fit that's really high on the waist. These are not hip-huggers, but lower on the waist, giving you room to breathe over the long haul. I wore these pants on a VERY hot ride (100+ degrees in Arizona) and while there's not much that's going to keep you cool while still keeping you covered in temperatures like that, I did find relief from the venting and didn't feel sticky at all, just hot. As you know, sometimes the heat just can't be avoided. Anyway, I like these pants a lot, much much better than my overpants. They are comfortable and look super cool with my Scorpion jacket! Due to the lower waist, they might gap a bit in the back for you, depending on your body type. If so, just add a cool belt. I think you'll really like these pants. Happy shopping!
Savannah II vs Joe Rocket Alter Ego?
Brian M on May 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I love my Savannah IIs. I haven't handled the Alter Egos to compare but I can say the Savannahs have great air flow once you remove the liner. With the liner in, they have kept me nice and warm on chilly days (less than 50F). They are comfortable and fit me well.
Can you put hip armor in these pants?
A shopper on Apr 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The pants come with removable hip armor. You can either use the pads that come with them or upgrade them. I've been using the pads that came with mine for a few years and have been quite satisfied.
